Siamo venuti qui a provare i tipici tamales di San Cristóbal. Abbiamo scelto questo posto perché c'era anche la scelta vegetariana e vegana. Purtroppo, il giorno che siamo andati noi, i gusti erano limitati, però quelli disponibili erano buoni. Il locale è molto carino. Però non si nota molto da fuori; servirebbe un'insegna o qualcosa di simile. Siamo andati qui che pioveva tanto e parte del ristorante era bagnata, quindi i posti a sedere erano ridotti di molto. Si paga solo in contanti.

Quedé encantada con los dos tamales de mole que pedí, súper sabrosos y con esa sensación de comida hecha con calma. El espacio es muy agradable, da ganas de quedarse un rato más cotorreando. Mientras comíamos nos contaron que también hacen ceremonias de temazcal y que tienen más actividades en mente.

Lugar excelente lleno de lo que esperarías al visitar San Cristóbal. La amabilidad en el servicio te hace querer regresar y probar más. Recomendado en su visita al pueblo.

Uno de mis restaurantes favoritos sin duda! La comida está deliciosa, tienen precios económicos y el personal es súper agradable, atento y rápido. Buenísimas quesadillas, mis preferidas son chorizo vegano ( sabe exactamente al chorizo real) y con champiñones por 50 pesitos. La comida se nota que la hacen con amor. El lugar es abierto, no hace frío ni mucha calor, es cómodo y tienes libros instrumentos is para poder pasar el rato cómodamente. El personal es súper amable y atento. Tienes opciones sin gluten como crepes dulces y saladas y opciones veganas. 100% recomendable.

Ayer fuímos a cenar a la Casa del Tamal y tuvimos una experiencia buenísima. El ambiente es super acogedor, el servicio super atento y amable y en la comida puedes apreciar el cariño y delicadeza con que lo hacen, en un plato típico de la región de Chiapas. Super recomendable.

Si estás en San Cristóbal de las Casas, no puedes perderte La Casa del Tamal. La comida es auténtica, preparada con ingredientes frescos y locales, y la pasión de los dueños se refleja en cada plato. Viajé por 4 meses por México y, siendo vegetariana, nunca había tenido la oportunidad de probar tamales. Finalmente, aquí probé unos tamales deliciosos, hechos por la "abuelita" (más típicos no se puede), y unas quesadillas increíbles, con el mejor chorizo vegano que he probado. Pero lo que hace realmente especial este lugar son las personas que trabajan allí. Martin, Romi y Steef son I-N-C-R-E-I-B-L-E-S!!! Amables, sonrientes y súper acogedores. Me hicieron sentir como en casa, recomendándome los mejores platos y charlando conmigo. Cada vez que fui, fue un placer volver, tanto que al final fui tres veces. Su hospitalidad es única! Súper, super, superrrrrr recomendado!

La sopa de chipilin la super recomiendo. Es una combinación cremosa de salsa verde con crema aguacate y verduras como elote y calabaza 🤤

Muy buen lugar para pasar en familia, con amigos o simplemente tomarse un café. La comida es muy rica y a precio justo, el servicio es muy amable y cordial y el café es muy bueno.

Look no further for an  amazing tamales experience. I had no expectations, but was overwhelmed by this place, the atmosphere, the kindness and warmth of the owner and of course the tamales. Multiple different tamales and each actually looks and tastes different from the others. Fabulous local traditional, some wrapped in banana leaves and others in corn. He even told us they had sweet tamales that day. We were first exposed to sweet tamales in El Salvador and we're surprised that they had them and of course we ordered and the sweet tamale was absolutely incredible. I'll tell you the tamales that I ordered but I just ordered anything that sounded good not really knowing what I was going to get and boy was I surprised at how great they were. I bet anything you order here is going to be amazing. Now all I can think about is going back and trying more.  I put pictures of everything that we ordered. But there are already representative great photos that other supposed too.  I recommend everything we ordered, highly. Even the salsa which was medium and very hot depending if you got a pepper or not.  It was a wonderful salsa on the savory tamales which we ate with and without the salsa. I highly recommend the drink,  atole de guayaba, served hot. The slightly sweet and warm and wonderful on a cool morning instead of or in addition to coffee. That said, the coffee was also extremely good smooth nutty and sweet.  Tamal Salsa de azafram con pollo. Tamal mole de casa con pollo. Then of course the sweet tamal. Like I said I bet everything is amazing there and you should just go wild choosing. You're only limitation should be how much you can stuff into your belly. The price should not matter. These tamales were made with the hand of God, but if not God, someone who really cares. This was one of our best and most reasonable priced meal during our time here. Of note, we arrived 10 minutes early. They are very laid back here. However, they were so welcoming and invited us to come in and sit while they set up for the morning. When you come here, relax and let them take care of you. Don't be in a rush because you just won't enjoy how great this place is unless you just slow down a little bit and relax and taste and appreciate the food. Put your Amex away. Cash only! Now I read all of the reviews and laughed at some of the fake one star reviews. If someone says there are better options and does not list them, I call bs. I was surprised that someone would say the coffee is nescafe, because if it were, I need to go back and revisit that brand! This place should be 5 stars for what it is.

We loved every bite! What an amazing find. We got a tamal, the dish of the day and the most amazing pico de gallo. We truly enjoyed it all so much, probably one of the best meals we had in San Cristobal! The service was great and so warm, everything was made fresh (tortillas included), all amazing flavors!

Randomly found this family run restaurant for lunch it turns out I’m loving what I had! I actually not really understand what I got, just know it’s something with chicken I said okay give it a try I’m tired of using translating to see what are the details. Today lunch special just $80 pesos with chicken and some rice and fried zucchini w avocado, all of them were my favourite, especially I was craving for rice for a long time, this is a surprise! I gonna go there for a second meal.

All of this place is delicious. While visiting San Cris, I went three times. So, if you ate in town just go to get something there. I highly recommend tamales de chipilin because those are the traditional tamales in Chiapas.

This place is delicious! If you’re a vegan or vegetarian come here for many options. It’s cheap and fresh! We watched the chef hand make our guacamole. I had the veg burrito and it was amazing as was the vegetable tamale. Highly recommend!

One of the best food experiences we've had on our trip in Mexico. They prepare all of the meals with fresh daily ingredients. The cuisine is authentically Mexican, with welcomed vegan variations from the knowledgeable chef. They were kind enough to change certain aspects of the menu. Being surrounded by plants made for a nice atmosphere. We recommend the tamal with mole and the mais atole.

This restaurant turned out to be a very pleasant surprise. I stumbled upon it when I was shopping in Centro. The friendly owner/server greeted me with an English menu on the sidewalk. I was seated in the backyard that frankly, was more like an oasis. Loved it! I ordered their potatoes and pumpkin flower tamale, and a vegetable soup. I enjoyed both very much. Tasty and big portions. Give them a try even if you are a meat lover.

Love this place. Great vegan tamales and vegan quesadillas,. They have a cute market Fridays and Saturdays that sell awesome vegan and gluten free options as well as holistic tinctures, beauty products, crafts etc. Love the vegan gluten free french crepes served at the market by Romeo I always get chocolate strawberry... Yummy! Also there's a girl there that makes bomb lemon coconut cake which is also gluten-free, vegan and soy free. The tamales and quesadillas served there are hit or miss, sometimes amazing other times meh... So if you go once and it's not great give it another shot in a few days lol

Sono venuto qui solo per provare un tamal típico di San. Non male! Ho ordinato il tamal di azafrán. Un misto di pollo, avocado 🥑 e altri ingredienti a un prezzo di 25 . ( Per la strada era lo stesso prezzo!) Consiglio di controllare gli orari perché Oggi domenica sono andato alla mattina ed era chiuso e sono ritornato dopo 2/3 ore al pomeriggio ed era aperto. Su Google risulta chiuso domenica ma era aperto il pomeriggio. Quando sono andato la mattina risultava aperto su Google e l'ho trovato chiuso È disponibile il Wi-Fi. Non male Grazie

Lugar tranquilo en donde comer tamales con rellenos típicos. Tienen opciones vegetarianas y veganas.

Con ganas de tamales hemos encontrado este lugar muy tranquilo en San Cristóbal. Los tamales salen ricos sobre todo el tamal de costilla de puerco! Pero para los precios los tamales son bastante pequeños, si tenemos hambre la cuenta puede ser alta aunque los precios son razonables.

Tiny little spot from outside, we discover this joint randomly upon strolling the touristy downtown area. Since we are a bit hungry we decide to grab some snacks here. The tamal chipilín con pollo is very delicious. In fact we came back to grab a few more later for breakfast next day haha. With 30 pesos a pop, it’s a yummy cheap meal.

שלושה כוכבים כי האוכל היה פשוט טעים אבל לא מלא בטעמים מקסיקניים חזקים וטובים כמו במקומות אחרים שאכלתי בהם. לקחתי אינצילדס ברוטב אדום וטמאלס במילוי מולה ופטריות והטעמים היו קצת תפלים (לא עניין של מלח אלא של תיבול בכללי). זאת אופציה צמחונית נחמדה אבל עדיף בעיני ללכת למקום טוב שמגיש גם (או אפילו בעיקר) בשר ולמצוא מנה צמחונית מאשר ללכת למסעדה הזאת במיוחד. חשוב להגיד שהשירות היה מצויין והמקום נחמד ונמצא במיקום טוב

El lugar es agradable y los sabores son buenos, pero los tiempos de espera son demasiado largos y hay ruidos y gritos raros adentro de la "casa" El burrito es lo más rico del menú, más que los tamales

Preferible pedir para llevar. El lugar es pintoresco, los tamales muy sabrosos. El tiempo de espera es tardado, el baño está muy cerca de las mesas, la estructura del baño es de madera y se alcanza a hacia su interior.

Los tamales muy, MUY desabridos... El lugar es X pero el sabor de los alimentos es malisimo. Mejor buscar otros aunque haya que caminar un poquito más

Decepcionada, los tamales son de maseca 😒 en verdad están horribles, ni los comimos, desde que los destapamos olían muy mal, y aparte 20 pesos un tamal.... lastima nuestro dinero. No los recomiendo.

La verdad es que los tamales no tienen buen sabor. Además del café. Es café de Nescafé. Y no café de mata.

Para los conocedores de tamales, es una pésima opción, pésimo sabor, muy pequeños y pocas opciones.
