We went to this place last Saturday on our way back from hiking, which is why we stopped by. We needed something healthy, so we opted for salads and grilled chicken, which were really flavorful and moist. I liked what we ordered, and the staff were very friendly! We went quite early, so there were no people around us, but the place was getting busy when we left!
Very friendly atmosphere. Everyone is in a good mood here. There's nothing bad on the menu, and portions are generous. They have a full bar, and plenty of both draft and bottled beers. When we were there they had both front doors open which really made the air nice and fresh. Handicap parking is not directly in front, but off to the side. Still, it's a nice smooth easy walk. The chairs are comfortable and sturdy. And the benches are comfortable. The tables also move, which makes it easy to get them at just the right distance.
First time try , food was great ! Large portions ! Service good just a bit slow . Desserts are yummy ! We will definitely go back if in the area !
The food was great, especially the Maui Chicken Bowl and bacon cheesy fries (see the included photos). The atmosphere was really good, the prices were fair, and the service was good as well. There are a few tvs, outdoor seating, bar seating, and regular table and booth seating as well, so plenty of options. I would definitely recommend check this place out.
Finally!!! Been wanting to eat here and holy cow! I’m gonna be coming back for more No joke! Amazing 😍😍 Thank you thank youuuuu!! Didn’t even mind that my Bloody Mary was missing the bacon😘
A craving for chicken landed us at Chicken Charlie's Table. (We should have come with bigger stomachs!) The Naked Shrimp and Maui Chicken on pineapple (with their sides of pineapple and rice) was delicious! and finally my search for frog legs is over! (Odd thing to want, but it is definitely a tender meat that I have always enjoyed eating.) They were out of funnel cake for dessert, but the Fried Cookie Dough was thoroughly enjoyed with their side of chocolate drizzled whipped cream and vanilla ice cream. We had sweet, we had savory, and an awesome waitress to service us. Thank you, Terra, for making my family and I feel welcomed. It has been hard to find inviting places during COVID were interactions between restaurant and guest are limited. And kudos to the back of the house! Your food was scrumdiddlyumptious!
I had my usual Maui Bowl - can’t go wrong with that EVER!!! The chicken and ribs were good (ribs definitely delicious), side of Mac was very good (and I’m picky about my Mac) and the coleslaw was very good too (liked the twist with peanuts added). And of course had to have a Kool-aid cocktail. These drinks are a great grown up twist. The Tennessee was delish! Not too sweet either.
Best beet salad I’ve had in a while. The teriyaki chicken was delicious as well. The ingredients are fresh, high quality, and you can taste it. We ordered the Shrimp Beet Salad and Maui Chicken Bowl and they both hit the spot. Our server was super sweet and efficient. Will definitely be coming back again. Thank you for having gluten free options!
Quality restaurant located in a strip mall. The restaurant was well laid out and nice. Service was great. The bar area in the front was well stocked and had tvs. There were plenty of diverse, great sounding food choices. We got the burger and Maui chicken (teriyaki chicken in a pineapple), and the house chardonnay. All were excellent. I highly recommend the teriyaki chicken and it was enough for 3 meals. There's something for every taste. We will definitely be back.

You know a restaurant is good when the locals treat it like a second home—and that's exactly what Copper Spoon Tavern feels like. The bartender remembered my drink after just one visit (an old-fashioned with a twist of orange peel), and the burger? Hands-down the best in town. Cooked medium-rare just as requested, with that perfect crispy edge and buttery brioche bun. I usually sit at the bar, chat with regulars, and watch whatever game is on. It’s not just food here—it’s a vibe.
Place has ok food. The service was good when I went but when it got a bit busier I didn’t see my waitress for quite some time. I asked for no whipped cream on my waffles but they put it on. Other than that it was a fun restaurant.
I fun restaurant/ bar that I'm glad I found. I had a "Facebook Special" quarter pounder and a cucumber salad and modelo. Except for the one very green unripe tomato in the salad, the rest of the food was great. It's a bit ridiculously cold in here, like 60 degrees but other than that, the place is big and clean. I had to ask my server to wipe the table I sat at & he did a cheezy cleaning job so I cleaned it myself. That's my reason for 4 stars vs 5. The menu has some awesome looking dishes that I want to come back and try. A bit pricey but everyone seems to be pricey nowadays.
Tater tots were hot, crunchy & fresh! The mini ribs were flavorful and fall off the bone tender. The BBQ sauce had a good flavor with a peppery finish. Hubby had the chicken & waffles. Waffles had the vanilla/cinnamon flavor plus they were light & fluffy. Deep fried chicken was crispy with a light batter coating. Chicken was very juicy, you could see it even in the breast portion. Waffle was served with strawberries, whipped cream, butter & syrup. Portions are generous. Food was served hot.
I love this place enough to bring new people. My order was Ribs and shrimp. The ribs were dry and the shrimp had little flavor.

We attended a dinner at Chicken Charlie’s for the Scripps Ranch High School football banquet, and overall it was a very positive experience. The dinner was a set menu. My son tried the hamburger, which he said was okay but not great, while my husband had the chicken tenders and really enjoyed them. As a vegetarian, none of the set menu options were meatless, but the owner went out of their way to accommodate me by making a special dish with eggplant, chickpeas, and peppers served fajita-style, along with a side salad. It was actually very delicious and much appreciated. To top it all off, the fried Oreos for dessert were awesome and a big hit. Overall, I was very happy with the experience and truly enjoyed the banquet.
I didn't realize that Chicken Charlie's had a sit-down restaurant. We decided to stop by and try it on a Sunday at 3 PM. We took advantage of the happy hour from 2 to 5 PM, which included drinks, some menu items, and appetizers, and it was a great deal. We ordered the pineapple teriyaki chicken rice bowl (at happy hour pricing), a fried chicken sandwich with barbecue sauce, onion rings, and bacon. Both dishes were excellent and definitely didn’t feel like "fair food" at all. There were a few patrons at the bar watching the Chargers game, creating a fun and friendly atmosphere. The restaurant was very clean, the waitresses were friendly, and the food was both good and served quickly. Chicken Charlie's definitely suprises us, give them a try and let them change your mind too.

It was ok but the flavor of the fried chicken was not what I expected. I can make it at home the same if not better. We also got the teriyaki chicken in the pineapple which was actually pretty good. 👍 One thing I also noticed was the video add of their food they play, is not the same as what they serve you...Ex:the gravy they display on their video looks brown and runny full of flavor, however the one you actually get I yellowish in color and like a gelatin consistency, NOT the one they display. 😐 It tasted like the ones from a pouch at the grocery store. Not great quality is my point. 🤷
I’m always seeing Charlie’s post on Facebook, and all his stuff looks delicious. Today I finally got to visit the new location in Rancho Bernardo, and I have mixed emotions. So for starters, the three stars have nothing to do with their food. I ordered chicken waffles, and I was blown away on the amount of food I got. Quantity and quality at its best! Chicken was so good, and the waffle was well made, and it had great taste. We ordered a side of onion rings as well, and those were some of the best we’ve had so far. Here’s where things start getting a little disappointing. My wife’s order was the wrong one, and instead of replacing the order, they just brought the stuff that was missing so she could add it to the meal. In this case, it was a sandwich. I ordered a lemonade, and got water. I figured maybe the waitress was bringing us a round of water before our actual drinks... was wrong. Their tables are super slippery! Can’t even lean on them a bit before they slide all over. Maybe adding thicker rubber on the bottom of the legs, can prevent them from sliding so much. Another suggestion I have, is to add some photos of the menu items to the paper Menu. I know the tv screen shows pictures of stuff, but when you’re ordering food, you might want to see the item instead of waiting for the tv to show it. Anyways. Staff is friendly. Got to meet Charlie (before we placed our order) super cool guy. Food is amazing! Prices are the great for the amount of food you get, and the area. Just those things I mentioned earlier, really bugged me. I know the restaurant is just about a week old, so I’m expecting for them to improve as they go. Will definitely give them another chance in a month or so.

Value was great with the happy hour. Took my family here after moving to the area from out of state. The service was great and responsive how ever the food was missing something… texture? Flavor? I honestly will have to go back and give it another shot. I can say for sure the dessert is worth it 100% strawberry funnel cake was a highlight and shareable!

I’ve been excited to come here. It’s closer than the Clairmont location for me. The restaurant is new and very clean. We got seated quickly. The ribs are good, I recommend them. The chicken was oily and lacked crispy texture. The sides were mediocre. The service needs a lot of work. Just the basics of bringing food to the right table and remembering to bing drinks out would have made the experience better.
We tried the happy hour deals and instantly regretted it. Our server was very kind but overall service was slow since only one server and a bartender were covering the whole place on a Saturday afternoon during happy hour. The food was the bigger issue: wings tasted like straight vinegar, fries were bland, and the mac and cheese was easily the worst I’ve had, overcooked and absolutely flavorless. The only decent item was the cheese balls. Happy hour prices aren’t worth it, I won’t be back.
