Great service for take out yesterday! I ordered the kids meal mac n cheese for my son. I wish I got my server's name because he was prompt and helpful with the menu. I just wished this place was open a bit earlier like 10:30am.

Great GF buns for there sandwich options. Great brisket and pulled pork. Highly recommend the Kuba Sandwich too! Dog friendly patio. Edit - Went back the next day and enjoyed their chicken strips (huge), onion rings (also huge!), brisket chili (superb) and fish and chips. You will Not leave hungry and will enjoy it!

If I could give this place 6 stars I would! My family was in San Diego for a quick weekend trip to Sea World and the zoo and my son wanted some BBQ. I just picked this place because it was close to the boardwalk. Not knowing what to expect we walk over to the place. We were welcome by the best waitress I've ever met. Megan is an angel! My youngest has autism and she caught that fact immediately. She suggested we sit away from the crowd to help with the noise. She helped answer questions about the menu and made sure we had everything we needed. I can't speak highly enough about Megan. She needs to be on TV or in movies. She's just amazing! Now the food. Talk about great food. I've had Caesar salads all over the US and the one I had was tied for jest I've ever had. The chicken was tender and seasoned to perfection. My oldest had the pulled pork and she couldn't stop eating it. My first son tackled the monstrous burger, which managed to finish. My youngest had ribs and man did he enjoy them. Finally, the onion rings there are heavenly. If you go for anything, go for the rings. Even as full as everyone was we had to try them and we weren't disappointed. Please go support this local business and say hi to Megan. She'll take very good care of you. Thanks.

I try to make a stop here whenever I’m in Mission Beach. The staff are always so friendly and accommodating. I crave their food, so delicious and never takes very long to receive. Friday evenings are fun when there is a chef special too. Great spot!

Me and my wife came across this place when we were driving in San Diego with our box truck company. We had a late drop off and we would started and looking for something to eat because we we’re starving and we came across this place even though it was late they still served us with good customer service and the food was still good. we ended up getting a meat combo. I don’t remember which one or what kind but I know it came with brisket and ribs plus sides and everything was so good and seasoned and tender. And to add to it, it had great scenery as well. So if you’re ever in San Diego, please go check this place out….. I LOVE GOOD BBQ AND THEY HAVE IT!! ✅👍🏽

I saw them advertise a joke review about this place being the "best BBQ in the world" and honestly, they delivered! Fall of the bone meat, sweet BBQ sauce that can go on anything, burgers that are loaded with toppings, fresh ans flavorful fried fish, and so much more can be found here. Even our kids ate every bite off their plates! To top it off, our server was super nice, funny and attentive. We will 100% be coming back when we visit San Diego again.

Whoa baby. I did not expect bbq to be this GOOD at the boardwalk. Typically boardwalk food is mid but not the case for Coaster Saloon. The brisket was delicious, the pulled pork was super tender and the grilled chicken was made to perfection. My wife loved the street corn! The Mac and cheese was piping hot!! The crunchiest in there was a nice touch. Corn bread is a must try! Special shout out to our server Alex for taking care of us on a busy night!

Stopped by after walking the Mission Beach boardwalk and stumbling upon this spot, and it did not disappoint! We tried the pulled pork nachos and they were absolute fire — loaded with flavor, perfectly cheesy, and that BBQ sauce on the side? Insane. Sweet, smoky, and the perfect pairing. The vibe here is just as good as the food. They’ve got a cool backyard-style area with games like giant Connect Four, which made it a fun and laid-back hangout spot.

I'm so glad we did this at the beginning of our stay because we went back for another try. Really enjoyed the BBQ. Brisket was flavorful and didn't need sauce. Ribs fell off the bone and the potato salad with bacon...yummy! All the food was great, the drinks were ok. Great decorations and outdoor seating. Burger is similar to a large smash burger, which i love. Brisket chili alone is a great helping/portion. It's definitely a great spot for lunch or dinner. Staff is super friendly and helpful. Had gluten-free options for friends, which was awesome.

My daughter is very picky and anxious inside restaurants. No where near there has kid friendly pasta, except here! Their Mac & Cheese was mouth watering! My daughter is super picky, but their Mac and cheese is far from the box taste. It’s extremely gourmet Mac & cheese- better than Ruth’s Chris Mac & Cheese(and I love Ruth’s Chris) I had the plain wings and it was more than flavorful! Smokey and tender, it’s so juicy and flavorful it could pass as a mini turkey leg lol! They servers were super friendly and kind. The TV’s were all on and I became carried away with the game that was on. The entire setting, ambiance, and food is spot on! Something for everyone here!

We did have a great experience. Street corn is the best in the business. Top 5 best coleslaw I have ever eaten. Mac and cheese is also a top 5. Great BBQ sauce. I highly recommend this restaurant if you are in the area! The customer service was second to none! Maddie was our waitress and she made the experience the best we have ever had. I was impressed with her professionalism and customer service. This was our first time ever being here and she was very insightful and helpful with recommendations and answering any questions we had. My boyfriend and I ordered the party of 2. The food quality was consistently outstanding. The BBQ sauce.. AMAZING!! Thanks to Maddie, I ended up paying $8 for a giant bottle to take home! The ambiance of the restaurant was very inviting and comfortable. We were seated immediately and the food was out within 10-15 minutes after we had placed our order. The pricing is very good for the portions given and the customer service provided.

Angie was our server and she was phenomenal! The food was absolute delicious and the beers and shots were great. We even came back later that same night and sat at the bar, where Kuba gave great recommendations for local beers and new liquors to try. He even helped charge our phones. The staff took excellent care of us and I'll be telling everyone I know to make sure and stop by next time they're in San Diego! 10/10

Outstanding food, excellent service, adorable decor. This place is legit. Our server Josh was amazing! So friendly with great suggestions. We got our food fast, and EVERYTHING was great! Maybe the best 'chicken tenders' I've ever had. Same with the tri tip. 100% will come here again next time I'm in Mission Beach!

We stopped here after spending some time walking around the beach and boardwalk area. We needed a drink and something to eat. I had the brisket and it was really good. My wife had the pulled pork and said it was good. After a hour plus of walking around the biggest thing was getting place to sit and rest our feet a bit. Our server didn't seem all the interested in waiting on us. It seemed like we were a burden to them and that does diminish the experience a bit. Overall the food was good and that was important. It was also good to get a few minutes to sit and relax after a fairly hectic day.
