Opinions de Flicks San Diego
Me and 3 of my female friends were looking for somewhere to have a few cocktails and stumbled into Flicks. We had the best time. We drank, Did triva, I even learned how to play darts and everyone was nice and inviting. We didn't order food but the popcorn was good.
Fun times! Everyone is welcome. Total dance party until around 11pm, then you’re packed in like sardines with no room to dance. So just one hour of a good time and then it’s time to leave.
FUN AND FESTIVE FRIENDLY BAR . GREAT BARTENDERS . OUTDOOR SEATING . AMAZING DJS AND DANCE FLOORS . FANTASTIC EVENTS

This was our first, nightly stop in SD. Had such an amazing time. The DJ was great, way better than the DJ playing at Rich's nightclub next door to be honest. Gogo boys knew how to drop it low. Was actually impressed. The place was packed, but it was a ton of fun. Drinks were surprisingly strong, too - guaranteed us a good time.
I'm straight but looooove this place! My girl and I have a blast! Great music, great vibes!
Probably one of my favourite clubs with a hugely diverse crowd, great music and phenomenal service from the bartenders. When traveling to San Diego this club is a must for us.
Came here for Pride 2025. Cover was $20 a person, and the place was packed. The dancers theme, vibe, etc. didnt really seem any different than normal, so it didn't really feel very special for the $20 cover, but it's still a great place to vibe (better than Rich's with a $40 cover).
Its always a good time here. Bartenders are very attentive and fast. Good prices as well! Thanks Mr. Carr for the invite as always!
Flicks is a San Diego staple, and an oasis for the LGBTQ community. The music is always fire and everyone welcome. Fun dancers and strong drinks. Thanks, Flicks!
I came to Hillcrest for a night out with my friends the rocker security guard was so amazing and didn’t stop so well it was karaoke night and everybody was on their A game. I’ve never been to a place in San Diego with so much good atmosphere and friendliness. Total vibes

You will find straight couples more than gay. Why? I am looking for the man who loves fem/trans
Went for the first time. As a non local it was so cool to have guys be so friendly and approachable here. Bartenders and servers were all great, friendly, smiling, and made great vodka red bulls. I was shocked at how cheap my drinks were and it wasn't even happy hour. I let the bartender know that the same drink in LA would easily be double, then tipped him the difference anyways 😉also, the servers walking around in underwear were incredibly hot , there was one that I told I didn't even want a drink, just wanted to pay for one and told him to keep it. Best part about flicks was the music, for sure. I love when clubs play throwbacks/2000s and they did not disappoint. Banger after banger, almost all from my era with a couple newer songs mixed in. Great experience, hope it's like that every weekend. I have been dying to make the almost two hour drive down asap to hangout here again. Met some great guys, which was awesome because I went alone but didn't feel left out of the fun. Will be coming back! Definitely my go to spot in the San Diego area. Can't wait to go back and hopefully top my experience last weekend 😅

Music was great, vibes were awesome. Bartenders look a little snappy. Only one stall in the restroom and like 5 urinals. ALSO, I didn’t realize it because I was a little typsy (unit I took a look at my total and the man said he couldn’t go back to change it when I was about to sign) but one of the persons walking around with $4 shots had their minimum tipping setting at $4. They’re able to put down their minimum and I feel like they’re taking advantage of people who are a bit under the influence. Of course when you’re a little drunk you’re feeling typsy, but that was plain out wrong to start your minimum tipping option at $4 for a $4 drink. I’ve had this happen at Rich’s on Halloween before. High cover and then asking for a high tipping option that started at $25, just beware because sometimes we don’t check the screen and think the tipping option is going to start at something like 20% not 100%. Crazy.

I was roofied and had my phone stolen a year ago. I was too nervous to post anything but seeing the comments still say the same thing is heartbreaking. I keep coming back to check to see if this criminally pathetic place is still open. People of San Diego need to protest.
I was roofied here. TWO friends had their phones stolen. Staff didn’t care, didn’t help, and did nothing. No security, no urgency, no accountability. This bar is unsafe, and the staff is complicit. Do not go here if you want a fun time. There are much better (and safer) places. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!!
My boyfriend was assaulted at the bar after accidentally spilling his drink. We are new to the Hillcrest area and this was a terrible first experience at the bar. While the staff was nice a customer pushed my boyfriend down after he accidentally spilled his drink, and then threw water on him and kicked him in the face and the staff did nothing to mediate the attack nor rectify the situation.
Extremely rude security guard demanded I open my small bag so he could finger thru it, which is illegal btw. GM refused to do anything about it. Stop hiring bitter nasty employees that don't even follow the law or have any customer service mindset. Not spending money or time here ever again. Gays need to stand up to these awful businesses.
Ive never been put in harms way by a bar until tonight… I was waiting in a corner for my husband to pick me up, near the exit. A security guard asked if I was ok. I only showed him my husbands location was 2! 2 minutes away and they threw me on the curb! When they were dragging me out I told them to stop they were going to make me sick and caused me to throw up on several people. Simply because my words meant nothing to them. They called me a liability and made me a worse one in the gutter. Will probably not ever come back due to the danger this place put me in. I was fine were I was, proved I had a ride in two 2!!! Minutes. Instead they made everything worse for me and others since I threw up on people and the security. I was fine were I was for 2 minutes.
Extremely rude bartender, white guy with short hair and short beard. After we ordered drinks he asked us to not block his area for other customer's. NEVER EXPERIENCED SUCH RUDENESS. Was here celebrating my best friends bday and was about to spend more money here. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY
This establishment is NOT accredited by the BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU!!! I’m visiting San Diego for the first time and I wanted to try starting the night at a place that seemed cool. I looked on the website about this bar. The atmosphere looked like it could have been hopping. With “Friendly Faces” with opportunity to find “Family” here. After entering the bar, it was Big with the DJ booth prepped for an event. It had a cute Autumnal theme with the cute Orange leaves & trees. There was a lot of locals just sitting at the bar. This was just the precursor to Karaoke of course. After getting situated at the bar, bartender seemed busy. The seats at the bar were Not all taken. Time of the first interaction with a less than interesting “hi” of an introduction was about 5 minutes after sitting down. Asked if there was food options. The smarmy response was, “we have Popcorn.” After getting my first drink, Bartender asked if I wanted a refill. With confirmation he then took the drink I hadn’t finished 1/2 of. I said nothing waiting to see if he would acknowledge it. He didn’t. I was done with the bar after 15 minutes. The Bartender was about to close me out. But as he was asking for my credit card again and I stated, “Do I Not have a tab open?” He stated, “Oh I forgot.” Which made me concerned that he was going to close x2 different tabs to then charge themselves an extra fee for closing a “2nd Tab.” It was a ridiculous experience. Especially when there wasn’t more than 20 people in the room with drinks and the Bartender was clearly “distracted.” A Health & Safety concern would be the Flame lit Votive Candles next to the open alcohol. There’s timer remote control battery powered Votive Candles on cheap websites that can do the same job without having to light the ones then placed next to Open Alcohol.
