Charcoal Korean BBQ says it all. This was the best Korean BBQ I've ever had so far. You can taste the smoke from the coals and the meat didn't burn the grill plate the way it usually does at other places. Surprisingly there was less smoke also. The service was great, very attentive. They had to gently tell us our 90 minutes was up but we were so full anyway lol.
You need to be ready to wait for 1-2 hours or even more if you come in rush hours… though the food was totally worth it though. I usually hate to order steaks at all you can eat places, which was a different story here. I even got the cold noodles on top of all the meat. Just wish their beef tongue can be better. Pretty cost-effective I’d say
Best BBQ in San Diego period. So addicting. Meat quality is always on point. The cold noodle is to die for. I eat here every week . What’s better than Korean bbq? Korean bbq on charcoal. Once you come to place. You can’t go anywhere else. It’s the only Korean bbq I eat since. Only down side is long wait. But the longer you wait the more you eat right?
I visited it today and had an amazing time. The meat and beef were incredibly fresh, and the sauces were fantastic. Despite arriving at the opening time and having plenty of seating options, finding parking was a bit challenging due to the high number of vehicles. However, the food and service made up for it. The restaurant also offers a wide variety of dishes and smaller portions to try. I highly recommend this place and give it a 5-star rating. Don't miss out on this fantastic grill barbecue experience!
Our favorite Korean bbq place in San Diego. Really nothing comes close. Charcoal grill, quality meats, and good banchan (ie kimchi, radish etc). The cold kimchi noodle dish is something I’ve been searching for since my first taste in LA. The staff is kind and attentive. Just be prepared to wait about 30 - 60 minutes for a table.
Get here at 430-500pm. Parked in the side street and walk in. Relatively speaking, and in my opinion I think this is really good KBBQ. Especially for the price. Pros: • Menu has all the AYCE options • Quality of meats, veggies and side dishes are great • The staff is friendly and fast • doesn’t take long to get orders • their salad is really good • you can call for service or the check from your table • Tons of great options nearby if the wait times are too long Cons: • This parking lot is notoriously bad • also, the people who drive on the street make very bad decisions
The Fire Spot offers an exceptional dining experience that combines rich flavors with an inviting atmosphere. Upon entering, the warm, smoky aroma of grilling meat immediately draws you in, setting the stage for a culinary adventure. The menu boasts a diverse selection of premium cuts, from tender beef brisket to succulent pork belly, all perfectly marinated and ready to be grilled at your table. The attentive and friendly staff are always on hand to assist with grilling tips, ensuring each bite is cooked to perfection. One attention to detail I noticed is that they did not forget any dishes I ordered! Most of the KBBQ places I’ve been to often forget one or two dishes cuts to the table. Not here! The array of side dishes, from crisp kimchi to tasty cucumber, complements the meats beautifully, creating a harmonious balance of flavors. The vibrant, lively ambiance, paired with the mouthwatering food, makes this restaurant a must-visit for anyone seeking an authentic and delightful Korean barbecue experience!
Be prepared to wait for 90 minutes but the food is worth it. Especially the lamb, chicken with bone and chicken wings. They are lightly marinated that we didn't even notice it but just all taste perfect. While it is BBQ, the ventilation is great so we didn't suffer from the smoke. The place is a bit small so tables can get pretty close. Side note: I accidentally left my backpack and they kept it well for me until I came back the second day. Very responsible and nice!
My new favorite kbbq spot in San Diego! The meats are all great quality, melt in your mouth. Loved the skirt steak, prime cut, short ribs, and the marinated beef. The ny steak was also good but I preferred the other meats. Over all just really tasty, the charcoal really makes a difference in the flavor and it cooks quickly too
The best! So good in every way. Great food. Attentive and efficient servers. The seasoning is so yummy 😋 Always want to come back for more!
Yakiniku style charcoal grills with KBBQ menu. The Fire Spot has a simple layout and menu with fast service and quality meat. Our favorites were the lamb and the squid. Most of their meats were flavored so well you didn’t need to add much of the sauces at all. Also, be sure to spoon the steamed egg into your rice - yum! Eating was limited to 90 minutes which was nice because it kept the tables going. You can order five meats a round for the whole table. Staff is fast and very friendly. Sapporo and Asahi bottles for $5. My favorite part was the charcoal grills. They didn’t stink up our clothes and hair (thanks to ingenious retractable fans) and I they didn’t burn the meat into a sticky black mess like traditional KBBQ stoves. The charcoal smell and flavor made the meat all the better. Definitely a good spot to stop by for a slow and savory meal with friends.
This restaurant is absolutely booming! Never expected it to be even more popular after reopening following the fire—you’ll wait at least an hour during peak meal times! Sincerely suggest showing up right before it opens to skip the line or avoiding rush hours altogether. It’s an all-you-can-eat spot with two options: $39.99 and $34.99. If it’s your first time, go for the $39.99 one to try all the varieties. Besides the delicious meat, every other dish is amazing too—appetizers, sour cabbage beef noodles, cheesy corn, beef soup, steamed eggs… everything tastes fantastic! No wonder it’s so fiery 🔥. There’s nothing better than enjoying sizzling grilled meat in this cozy spot on a cold night!
This place is the best Korean BBQ in town!!! You may have to wait but it’s totally worth it and you know the long wait is direct evidence about how great this place is 😏 New York steak is tender, beef tongue melts in your mouth, short ribs are juicy, Korean cold noodles are authentic, and the cheese corn is yummy and can serve as a dessert. They also serve Mexican coke😀 (separate charge). The staff are super friendly and attentive. They came by to make sure you have all you need and change the BBQ plates frequently. Cannot wait to go back but I have too much food lately😉 Adult is 39.99 per person with premium choices. Kid eats at a discount. Parking is challenging in this shopping mall.
THE best all-you-can-eat korean style grill I’ve ever found. Literally ALL items we ordered are 5 star standard. I’ll give 10 out of 5 if I can. Bro, what can I say. It’s the best.
Last night we came late around 9:30 but they are really fast in getting us a table. Everyone is very nice and service is quick. The meat is very tender and delicious and there’s alot of options. We choose the deluxe plan. Everything tastes so good. Its the first time we have eaten that much food. We will definitely return and recommend this place for anyone who wants the best korean BBQ.
The Fire Spot in San Diego is a must-visit for anyone craving a flavorful fusion of Chinese, Korean, and barbecue cuisines. After returning from our trip to Mexico, we had dinner here with our son and were thoroughly impressed by the quality and experience this small but mighty restaurant offers. The standout feature here is the charcoal grill, which brings a smoky depth to their high-quality meats. We opted for the prime option ($5 more), and it was worth every penny—especially for the tender ox tongue and juicy ribeye. The sliced brisket and marinated short ribs were also exceptional, cooked to perfection at our table. The sides were flavorful and complemented the meal beautifully, ensuring every bite was memorable. While the dining area is cozy, the attentive service ensures your time is well spent. They enforce a 90-minute dining limit, but the staff is quick and efficient, keeping the experience enjoyable without feeling rushed. A heads-up: it’s a popular spot, so you’ll need to put your name on the waiting list upon arrival, and peak times can mean longer waits. Parking is fee-based, and payment requires scanning a QR code—something to keep in mind when planning your visit. Despite the minor inconveniences, The Fire Spot delivers a savory, sizzling feast that’s well worth it. For an elevated Korean BBQ experience with top-notch meats and a cozy vibe, this place is a gem.
high quality meat even with the cheaper pricing tier. one of the best kbbq places at this price. their exhaust is good, your clothes and hair won’t smell like bbq after you leave😆
All I can say is WOW! MUST TRY!! There’s a bunch of all you can eat Korean bbq around, but this is definitely on the top of my list. The meat was significantly better than other Korean bbq restaurants I’ve tried. They also serve the Korean cold noodle and it is delicious! I thought I wouldn’t like the cold noodle, but this was super yummy! The price is affordable and average to the competitors as well, about $38 for the starting price and $39 for the premium meats so might as well go big or go home!!! Go try it now!!!
I’ve had Korean BBQ plenty of times, but this is my first KBBQ experience over a charcoal grill. You can tell they use all premium meats. The meats come with great marbling. The charcoal grill adds more flavor into the food and creates a better dining experience. This is now one of my top KBBQ destinations. Highly recommended! You won’t regret it!
Ughhh you cannot go wrong here! My only regret was getting the original menu and not the deluxe! We ordered so much food! The service was great and our server explained whenever we had questioned about the cuts. It was pretty chilling inside when we walked in but as more people started showing up, the temperature regulated. I only wish that the inside was a bit bigger to accommodate more people because this place is so good!! The marinated hand cut beef was delicious! The Korean spicy handcuff beef wasn't too spicy but also very well seasoned! The miso pork belly was good and not cut thick (which I usually prefer) but this cut was marinated so well I didn't even mind it! The steamed egg was delicious and so was the seafood tofu stew that had a way of relaxing your shoulders after the first sip! The bonchon (sides) and dips were very impressive all well seasoned with great quality. The cucumber salad was so good I had to order more! The rice came out so so fresh still steaming and overall it was such a good meal! I want to try everything there! Next time I'll get the Deluxe!!
We ordered: 1: Prime New York Steak x2 2: Prime Cut Steak 3: Beef Skirt Steak 4: Sliced Beef Tongue x2 🤤🤤🤤 my favorite 6: Mini Sweet Pork Sausages 11: Spicy Beef Noodles 16: Sliced Beef Brisket 17: Black Pepper Rib Finger Meat 20: Miso Pork Belly 29: Sweet Potatoes 34: Cucumber Salad 37: Rice Paper Diet coke, Peach & Lemon Soju, Lemon Black Tea I HIGHLY recommend showing up 1 hour before they open on a Sunday! So much parking to choose from at that time and you're first in line. First on the waiting list and first to get a table. All of the meats are QUALITY. They cook to perfection and have an amazing taste. Staff is also top tier. Super friendly and tentative! This place is quaint with about 12 tables inside and 1 bathroom. If you don't show up before they open you'll probably wait two hours to eat because that's how long my group stayed to go through all of this amazing food. We didn't have to get a new grill like other kbbq do, the heat was perfect the entire time. The picture of the line I posted is 30 minutes before opening (which is when their wait list opens). Id definitely wait because it's worth it. Or skip all of that and be first in line like we did, less stress. I'll definitely be back again! Thanks for making my birthday special and DELICIOUS 🫶🏽🤤🥩
January 15, 2024 This place just became number one on my list. We go to so many different places in a regular week, and the meat here is incredibly delicious, easily deserves 10 stars. The charcoal BBQ is a whole other level. Best dinner of the month so far. The people working were super nice and attentive. The place was clean, and the atmosphere and music were great. I'm definitely looking forward to coming back soon. Good job, team! January 17, 2024 I came back only two days later, and again I can only say: it’s going to be incredibly hard to find another Korean BBQ that can top this one. I probably shouldn’t hype it up so much because the wait might get even longer, but honestly, it’s reallyyyy good, and I can’t get enough. I’ll probably be back again in another two days. February 6, 2024 By now, I’ve been here four or five times, and this just confirms that it’s one of the best BBQ places ever. I really hope they make enough money to open a second location with more space, because this one always has a wait. I personally like that it’s not a super noisy place, but it’s very popular, so waiting is part of the deal. Side note: I had never eaten radish in my life until this place. I didn’t even know what that white thing was until the waiter told me, it’s actually really good with the marinade they use. 2025 update: Still my number one Korean BBQ in San Diego. I’ve been to many others, believe me, I’ve tried them all, but this one is just the best. I’ve read some ridiculous reviews, like the one from someone saying they wouldn’t recommend it to vegans… really? Or people complaining it was cold inside, wear a jacket! Some reviews sound more hateful than helpful. I’m not the owner, though I probably sound like it. I just hate to see good places get bad reviews that don’t make sense. I’ve brought so many people here, and every single one of them loved it. The team working here is the right size for the restaurant. They’re not open super late, but that’s just because it’s a small place and the staff works hard from open to close. One of them doesn’t even speak English, but honestly, he’s the best, always attentive and nice, and I’m sure he’ll learn fast. Also, when a place is packed with people of that same nationality, it’s usually because it’s that good. I’m from Spain, and I don’t go back to Spanish restaurants unless they taste like home. This place is the real deal. Another year, and this is still the best Korean BBQ in San Diego.
This is the best Korean BBQ we have ever had. Real charcoal grills! My wife and I have been to quite a few Korean BBQ places, and this is our new favorite. Amazing food and excellent service. Get here early though, and even then, expect to wait a little bit. Well worth it though. We recommend the lamb, the brisket, the tongue, the ribeye, the short rib, and the pork belly. Everything we had was out of this world.
So many choices of protein and sides. Spicy beef soup really good. The cheesy corn so yummy. I love the two dipping sauces, one is more salty but really good. They are always jam packed but once your on the wait list it goes by pretty quick 😉. Parking is an issue but there's parking up the street for $8.55 4hours. We'll worth it.
Best BBQ in SD. Meat is fresh and of great quality. Many options of sauce. Side dishes and soups are also great.
I think I have been to all Korean BBQs here in San Diego, and this is definitely it's on my top 1, the fire on the grill makes it so much better and the meats are all very well seasoned, no salt or pepper needed. Very clean meats and good side options. Great Customer service too. Would definitely come back.
No wonder it fills up fast cuz it’s tiny and tasty. Fantastic meats and price for an AYCE spot. Had much worse for a higher price tag elsewhere. The bonchon was great but made with more sugar than I’m used to. The marinated beef and spare ribs were amazing. Any meat that says “finger” is super fatty and you should leave on the grill much longer than anticipated to get it to taste right (made the mistake of taking a few pieces off too soon and was disappointed). The bulgogi was less flavorful than I anticipated.
Great AYCE Korean bbq. Side dishes are great, although they only serve you once (not sure if you can ask for refill). Very good quality of meats and there is a wide selection. Price wise is affordable and reasonable, seeing how crazy the inflation is recently. $32.99 for a basic package, which I think is value for money. Highly recommended.
Probably the best KBBQ I've been to. The real winner is the fact that it's charcoal grill which flavor is unmatched. I also really liked how the servers did not hover over the table and left us be to cook our meal. But they were very helpful when ordering the next rounds of meat. Will be going here again soon. My favorite meats were the black pepper finger meat and the lamb. Delicious.

Wow this place is good. It's also reasonably priced! This is the first KBBQ spot I've been to that uses charcoal and I'm a big fan. The meats were all delicious. I would definitely come back.

My experience was 4/5 stars due to the lack of sauces available and the wait. The wait wasn’t the restaurant’s fault but how the system is. I’m not used to using Yelp. I enjoyed all the meat selections available but it was very bland. The service here is great overall. The sauce I really enjoyed was the salad sauce on the meat
My family and I had an early dinner at The Fire Spot recently and found it to be an enjoyable experience. The various meats and side dishes were all very tasty and the air ventilation system is very effective so the restaurant wasn’t smoky. My only complaint is that the service became very slow and infrequent once the restaurant started to fill up. Putting in orders became more and more difficult, which did impact our dining experience. Overall, I would be happy to dine here again the next time I’m in the area.
It’s pretty good Chinese BBQ experience! 1, They use charcoal fire, it’s the best fire for grilling food! The additional score is that, the fire is super clean! 2, The meat they use is very fresh, every kind of meat, the texture is amazing. Unlimited small dishes, like Korean style 3, their service is super nice! Those guys are so busy, but they are fast and smile all the time. 4, the light and table setting are even, ordinary setting. 5, the price is good. One star is absent, because 1, they hire too less waiters , only three guys service the the restaurant, they are overwhelmed busy. 2, the table setting pretty crowed, very noise 3, too less vegetable options. I would not consider as vegan friendly. So: For elegant taster, or vegetarian not sure you will like it. For meat eater, it’s a highly recommended place!

FOOD & DRINKS This is an all you can eat restaurant with a pretty limited list of items to choose from. The marinade wasn't as sweet or spicy as I am used to when I was in Korea. The short ribs were quite fatty. I had to render down the fat quite a lot to make it more enjoyable for me. The wings were a nice addition. The banchan selection and quality was ok. The kimchi was quite sweet. Unfortunately they only had a lettuce salad. Instead I would have preferred some lettuce or guerrilla leaves for wrapping. The best thing about this place is that they use charcoal. For that alone I would recommend them and come back. SERVICE Service wasn't that great. I believe our table was the only table that hasn't gotten their grill replaced. We didn't specifically asked for it but a customer shouldn't ask for it in the first place. Good service comes naturally. On the positive side everything came out pretty fast. ATMOSPHERE Since they do use charcoal it helps a lot with the presentation. You can't get this experience with any other type of grills. The interior itself is very typical for a korean bbq place. RATING I was on the fence weither to give this place a three or four star rating. I think you pay the price for the experience and not so much for the selection of meat and veggies. While the quality of the meat wasn't bad, it wasn't of high quality either but I don't expect this from an all you can eat to begin with. I probably went one star less because there was always that one thing that stopped it from being really good. That said I wouldn't mind giving this place a four star rating. I can definitely recommend to give this place a try. Maybe you enjoy the marinade and fatty bits more than I did.
Came here a month ago because we wanted to try a different kbbq place other than our go-to place. Overall, place is nice and cozy. The meat however, we felt like the marinated meat was not as good as other kbbq locations. Lastly, I wasn't impress with their sauces to dip the meat in. The side dishes were delicious as usual.
TLDR: 4 stars for the meat itself, 1 for everything else. After waiting about an hour for the table, we were brought out the small cauldron to cook the meat on. A cockroach crawled out of it, and after being startled by it, our server killed it on the table and walked away. We then had to ask for the table to be cleaned again, and a new cauldron. Service was definitely not strong- we had to ask for things multiple times. The side dishes were sub par, an overwhelming amount of sesame oil was used in the cucumber salad and steamed egg. The rice that was brought out was hard. The meat, however, was really good. The brisket and pork belly were great. Overall, the cockroach situation at the beginning was really off putting and put a damper on the rest of the experience.
Called them at least ten times to confirm whether they have a table or not, but never got an answer, they never pick up the phone. So we went there, and found out they don't care about the situation, the environment is full of smoke. Never come again.
