It was my first time here with my husband and we had a great time ! The food is DELICIOUS!! We ordered the veg potstickers, Thai tea, Thai coconut milk soup, Veg. With tofu drunken noodles and the fried banana with agave and coconut ice cream( picture )This place exceeded our expectations with their quick service and amazing , flavorful food. Loved the fact how the noodles has so little oil and so much flavor! Beware: Since this is a Thai place , their spice level is different from normal. Pls do let them know your spice tolerance level after telling them your preference. We did a 4/10 spice level. Overall, loved this place ! Must visit for anyone looking for a really good , quality Thai food.
Oh my God!! I can’t believe !! I love this restaurant too much ! Every thing is so good! I really recommend drunken noodles! It’s amazing! I’m into this noodle. And curry is also good! I’m gonna have drunken noodles dream!!So I’m looking forward to sleep tonight! Maybe I’m gonna be crazy! Be careful every one!!🤬 📣 Thank you 💗
Best Thai food in San Diego! Ivan is the best server. Great energy and positive vibes. Thanks Ivan! We will be back. Got the yellow curry and pad Thai everything here is amazing
Came here with my parents on Sunday and we were all blown away. Rosetta’s Garden is like dining in your chic aunt’s backyard—lush plants everywhere, fairy lights, soft jazz in the background. My mom had the pumpkin ravioli (which she’s still talking about), I had the braised lamb with mint yogurt and couscous—absolutely amazing. Service was flawless, and even the water glasses were chilled. Worth every penny. Already booked again for next week with friends.
I stopped in for a quick lunch and ended up staying over an hour because I enjoyed it so much. The tomato soup was creamy and flavorful, and the grilled cheese sandwich had the perfect crunch. The lemonade was freshly squeezed and not too sweet. The server was kind and fast, and the space was super clean. It’s rare to find a place that nails all the basics this well.
Really great customer service. They even brought my food outside to where I was waiting. The foods tasted great. Really happy I tired this restaurant for the first time. Will be back again.
El Barrio Cantina is the definition of underrated. I went during their weekday lunch hours and had the pork belly tacos, street corn, and a watermelon agua fresca—and I swear I could eat that exact meal every day and not get bored. The food is vibrant, the plating is casual but thoughtful, and the portions are generous. The music was a chill reggaeton playlist and the patio has this cool mural that adds to the whole experience. This spot’s gonna blow up soon—mark my words.
We've become regulars of this place because the food is out of this world! I often order the chicken panang curry-- creamy, savory, spicy, delicious. We also love the pineapple fried rice, Thai hot basil with chicken, and the pad see-ew. The peanut sauce they serve with the fresh spring rolls is top notch, best I've ever had. On top of that, the servers are attentive and friendly. Give this place a visit!
Last night, my friend and I went to a marvelous restaurant; it was in the Rancho Bernardo/Poway area. Honestly, I hadn't been there yet, but had looked for something that was open late in the area. I normally live in NYC (the city that never sleeps!), and soon realized that not much in the No. Inland County of SD area is open late. So, since our friendship date was at 8 PM, this is the place that I chose. In other words, other than generally enjoying Thai food, our selection of this place was largely due to scheduling. Sometimes, it's about practicality. Yet, once we were there, we were both pleasantly surprised by the welcoming, relaxed vibe as well as both the quantity and quality of food that they shared. (Also, we didn’t have a reservation; but they still promptly seated us, even though it was fairly busy then, which we appreciated.) We ordered countless items from the menu, and they were all tasteful and oh so filling. We went home with more than half a dozen to-go boxes, too! : ) I particularly enjoyed the coconut milk soup with veggies and the dessert, which was the fried banana rolls paired with coconut ice cream. Can you infer that I'm into coconut everything?? LOL Last but not least, big shoutouts go out to Ivan and Roberto, for their loving hospitality and epic service. Roberto was so patient, as we asked him plenty of questions about the menu and garnered his recommendations. And - per our request - everything came out with mild, rather than maximum spice levels. Brilliant! So grateful for this wonderful experience -- even their fortune cookies were spot on. : ) I wish them only good fortune from here on out! Only the Best, Katherine (& dinner companion)
I recently dined at Urban Thai Kitchen in San Diego and had a wonderful experience! I ordered the vegan drunken noodles with tofu and one of the fresh off the wok dishes with delicious tofu, both of which were bursting with flavor. The Thai tea was a delightful addition, made with non-dairy options that perfectly complemented my meal. The ambiance was inviting and cozy, making it a great spot to enjoy with family and friends. The service people were attentive and friendly, ensuring that we had everything we needed. I highly recommend for anyone looking for tasty Thai cuisine that can accommodate various diets.
Got seated right away and after ordering, the food came out super quick! Ordered the fresh spring rolls, shrimp pad see ew, and thai tea. I thought the spring rolls were okay, but the pad see ew was great! Also i was able to adjust the thai tea with milk substitute and make it "less sweet", so that was appreciated.
Pleasantly surprised by the food and service here, given that it looks like a generic chain restaurant. Got the green curry with mock duck – really cool that they offer that as a protein. Also, they don’t charge extra for brown rice. Service was fast and friendly. Would definitely go back.
Urban Thai has the best drunken noodles I’ve had in San Diego! I always order drunken noodles when I go to a Thai restaurant, and these were hands-down my favorite. They weren’t dry at all—the sauce was super flavorful without overpowering the other ingredients. I really enjoyed it! Just a heads-up: if you don’t handle spicy food well, avoid level 2—it’s hotter than you might expect!
So we haven’t had Thai food since we left Okinawa , Japan, and also visited Thailand. Once you’ve been there, you’re kind of skeptical about eating anywhere else. In fact, I still haven’t even eaten sushi in California yet. So we took a chance on this place mainly because we had to drop my son off somewhere close and we had an hour to kill and we were hungry so we stopped in. We looked at some of the reviews and decided to follow suit, I ordered the drunken noodles and my wife got the curry with chicken she also had a cup of soup For starters, I ordered the fried vegetable eggrolls. Let me tell you they were delicious and if that was setting, the tone for the evening we were in for a culinary delight. First, let me get some things out of the way the place is small, even though they have outdoor seating so expect to wait maybe at least 10 to 15 minutes for a table when they are crowded. They’re in a strip mall. Parking is sometimes tight especially during the busy time. They do a pretty good takeout business from what I observed but best to be patient when looking for parking and also looking for a seat especially if you’re bringing a party of more we were only two people eating that night so we seated rather quickly. Our waiters name was Gabriel and he couldn’t have been more helpful. We loved everything on the menu and he helped us select some of his for us to try which were right on point as I mentioned earlier. Drunken noodles are awesome. Fried vegetable sprite eggrolls were amazing and my wife soup and main dish or fantastic. Everything came out warm and delicious. I recommend trying this place. It’s pretty cool and very reasonable on the budget. You’re probably wondering when I go back again? Well, we did the next night only because my son loves Thai food and we wanted to see if he enjoyed this restaurant which he did. We did order one additional menu item this go around, which was for dessert the mango sticky rice. It was so delicious right on point just as we remember it when we had it in Chang Mai. So it looks like we found a pretty good place. I attached some pictures didn’t do any video this time. Hope you enjoyed it as much as I did. Good luck.
Wow can’t believe I have not eaten here sooner. So good; the coconut milk soup with veggies was wonderful! Everything was great, friendly staff and very clean. Will be returning for sure!
I went with my friends. We had a soup, drunken noodles, fried rice and the salad with minced chicken and a sticky rice. We loved the soup, it was delicious. Perfectly cooked veggies. Drunken noodles was the top of all dishes we tried. We overall loved all the dishes.
This place has become our go-to restaurant for Thai. Delicious and reasonably priced. The outdoor patio is very nice. Highly recommended for the family.
The food is fresh and delicious, the staff is friendly and energetic, the ambiance is relaxing and clean. I came here nearly 5 days in a row for their amazing food. Highly recommend!
Went with five people for dinner. It was amazing. The food was so delicious. I wish I could give them more than five stars. We tried several different dishes. My favorite was the Larb.

First time and the food was really good I have to say even the Thai tea not too sweet just right . Going back soon

Obsessed is an understatement. I discovered this place a little late, but ever since then, I’ve either been here or ordering from them every single day. The food is just that good. Flavorful, fresh, and always hits the spot. Urban Thai, you’ve got me in a chokehold!

This place has become our go-to restaurant for Thai. Delicious and reasonably priced. The outdoor patio is very nice. Highly recommended for the family.
This is James (11 yr old). Truly amazing food. Great fried rice with a nice kick to it, TRY THE THAI LEMON GRASS SOUP: tom kha but better. Panang curry makes me keep coming back. Soy sauce is delectable. Unlike any I've ever tasted, amazing. Overall, I would give this a 6 out of 5 stars.
One of my fav spots. Drunken Noodles, Panang Curry, and basil fried rice are my favs. Husband really loves the lump crab fried rice. The crispy dark meat chicken is a must on any rice or noodle dish. Friendly service, laid back atmosphere. Only suggestion is that they change their surface cleaner. The chemical scent is too strong.
I just learned today that my favorite dish Pineapple fried rice has been discontinued. The reason is because some customers complained that this dish does not fit their liking and they left negative reviews on this dish. As such the owner decided to discontinue this dish. What a bummer. I LOVE this dish and in my opinion it’s the best compared to what other Thai restaurants have offered in the same dish. Please please bring this dish back to life again. I really missed it!

My friend and I ate dinner here for the first time last night. They had indoor and outdoor dining. It’s a casual place. Our server was friendly and attentive. The coconut shrimp appetizer was fresh and tasty. I enjoyed my seafood ginger wok-fried though I requested for no onions & it contained onions. My friend had the bbq pork eggplant wok-fried. She said that it was only okay.
We came in for dinner on a week night. We sat outside on their front patio since the weather was nice and it was a bit chilly inside with the AC on. The food came out really fast after we placed our orders. We really like the bbq pork drunken noodle, Chicken yellow curry, and the pineapple fried rice dishes. The Pad Thai was not very good. It was bland and dry. The rice noodles were stuck together. I ended up pouring the yellow curry sauce over it to make it better. The mango sticky rice dessert was perfect! Service was nice too. We were checked on often even though we were outside on the patio.
Came here for a munch meeting and the atmosphere was very nice and relaxing. Service was great as well and the food wasn’t bad. We ordered papaya salad, chicken pad Thai and pineapple shrimp fried rice.
Food was good but there are better Thai restaurants. Spicy Basil Fried Rice and Eggplant Wok. Service was lacking took long time to pay overall 7.5/10
I had a soup and the salad with minced chicken and a sticky rice. I have to say, the soup was perfectly balanced. Creamy but not too creamy, mix of sour and sweet, and a scent of a coconut. Not to mention, all the veggies in the bowl were at right condition— not mushy, not crunchy but somewhere in between! The salad was alright— I didn’t know at first how to eat it with sticky rice. It had layers of cabbages so I used it as a wrap to put sticky rice and chicken on it. Perfect combination! I wish there was more cabbage available because I quickly ran out haha. Overall, a decent Thai place with introductions to new Thai dishes which I appreciated.

So I ordered her for lunch since it’s local to me and I am rather disappointed. (Not disappointed in this BUT they do not serve beef FYI). I ordered the drunken noodles and the pad Thai. They asked me what level spice I wanted on the noodles it was a range of 1 to 10 and I chose a five which I am assuming it would be medium level spice. My drunken noodle was way too spicy to the point where I can’t continue to eat it and I was not even able to taste the flavoring of the drunken noodles. There were chilies everywhere. My shrimp pad Thai was very bland. There was barely any flavoring on the noodles and my shrimp had no flavoring on it. It was as if they just boil the shrimp and added to the noodles. I paid about $34 for my two meals and a Thai tea and I feel like it was not worth it. Now I am still hungry and sad. The food looks amazing but I was not impressed but it.
It was really good food except even with no spice, its very spicy! I couldnt handle the spice at all. Also, its very expensive. Its $20 for a small cup of soup. It would have been delicious if it wasnt so spicy! I thought "no spice" meant no spice.
Ordered take out. Was excited. I really don’t leave negative reviews as I’m always pretty open to new places as a first time try. Unfortunately, Urban Thai kitchen deserves some less than positive feedback. I got the “eggplant” dish with added duck. I got five(5!) small bites of eggplant in my $21.95 order. See the photo. You can buy several whole eggplants for that price so serve that portion in a veggie dish is absurd. The duck, while tasting ok, was dry to the point of being inedible. Honestly just very disappointed. The curry and spring rolls were acceptable.

Not an authentic place for Thai food.. not sure what the heck they used for the Larb Chicken but it was so grainy. It felt like I was eating sand with the chicken. The rice looked like microwaved in a bag. I won’t be coming back to this place. People are friendly though. Their cooks are not Thais at all. Other ethnicity. So I should have known that the food won’t be coming out right.. Thai places are either hit or miss… this one is definitely a missed for us…
They constantly mess up orders with no accountability or responsibility. Was going here for much longer than I should've because they are the only non fast good open late in the area. But they screwed up a e ingredient dish twice in thevlast 4 days. A couple weeks ago, I ordered veggie fresh rolls. Got home it had shrimp in it. Dangerous allergen. Called, went back, they gave me another order of the rolls. Opened them up - shrimp AGAIN. Called and they gave me a "credit" I was never able to use. Then the BS tonight - sent back a 3 ingredient dish and they just picked out the broccoli I asked them to 86 and sent the same crap back to me. All that for $20 for what is essentially chicken nuggets. Their error rate is seriously like 20 or 25%. Avoid like the plague if you have an allergy or care at all about accurate service.
I had a truly disappointing experience at this Thai restaurant. The waiter assigned to our table had horrible interpersonal skills and displayed a concerning lack of knowledge about the menu, and what the kitchen was able to accommodate regarding changes, especially regarding the Thai dishes the restaurant is known for. This not only hindered our ordering process but also left us feeling undervalued as customers. He showed that he was not really there for us!!! Moreover, It was clear that he was disengaged and uninterested in providing good service, which created a frustrating atmosphere. Because of the poor service and lack of support, we felt compelled to leave without even dining. This was particularly disheartening since we were looking forward to enjoying a meal there. Customer service is a critical aspect of the dining experience, and this interaction fell far short of what I expected. I hope that management addresses these issues, as it's disappointing to experience such poor service. In the end it’s hard to believe the food would be any better than the service.
Came on a weekday for dinner, got seated right away. But we waited to 30mins and there’s still no one came to take our order.
I paid extra $5.50 money for double shrimp, I didn’t get double shrimp I got 7 pieces. The one time I ordered double shrimp was also the first time I got the food to go instead of dining in. So when I called to let them know, they said we have the same cooks and we don’t make that mistake. I don’t know how these guys do their calculations. Do they think that the people who buy food from them are so desperate for food they’d call in and lie? And does this happen so often that if they were to listen to everyone who complained and offered a discount on their next meal they’d go bankrupt and that’s why they didn’t fix my situation? Or maybe they’re so busy that they don’t need us as a customer to offer a discount? Regardless, I hope you enjoy this one star review as much as I enjoyed getting 7 pieces of shrimp on a $30 order.
