Dim-sum was really tasty and the soup very filling. It’s one of the best meals I’ve had in SF and the rates were really good.
BEST DUMPLINGS. I recommend the juicy bao for a more unique dumpling dish. The soup in the xiao long bao had me dancing in my seat.
We tried the pan fried pork bao, the pork and crab soup bao, shrimp with shrimp paste noodles, and cucumber in garlic sauce. Everything arrived quickly and was absolutely delicious. The staff was extremely friendly and attentive, making the whole experience even better. This place is a definite favorite for tasty and satisfying dishes!
The food was absolutely delicious and came out super fast. The staff were friendly and welcoming, which made the experience even better. The beer was really good too! It does get a little loud since the place stays busy, but that just shows how popular it is. You might not linger long, but every bite is worth it. I really enjoyed my visit!
This place was amazing! My daughter loves dumplings and bao but oddly enough i had never had them. This would be my first time trying! We ordered the pan fried juicy pork bao, pork and crab soup bao, fresh shrimp with shrimp paste noodles and the fresh cucumber with garlic sauce. The vibe of the place was all good and positive! It felt so laid back and welcoming. It was super clean and smelled amazing! There was a bit of a wait but that’s because it was packed and there was a long line of people ahead of us. It was good because they had plugs so after walking and riding scooters all day in the city we were able to charge our phones while there which is a major plus for us tourist! That pan fried juicy pork bao was popular as it was on every single table so we had to try it! The food came out reasonably quickly and our server and the staff were super nice and friendly. I had seen videos of this spot on tiktok raving about how great this place was…And it did not disappoint!!! THE FOOD WAS DELICIOUS! All of it! There was nothing i would really change. The soup bao was my absolute favorite while my daughters enjoyed the ever so popular juicy pan fried bao. Those cucumbers were divine. Honestly i could eat those all day long. My daughter describes this as the best she’s ever had. Highly recommend! Absolutely enjoyed the food and service here. No concerns. Plus i got to try a new food that i absolutely ended up loving. When I came back to Houston, the first thing i did was find a noodle and dumpling spot. Theirs was ok but after having this place i may not find another spot this good!
I'm glad I didn't listen to the negative opinions; my wife and I had such a great time and meal here. We've tried a lot of dumpling restuarants around the country and several in SF, and this is by far our favorite. Regarding the long waits, it's worth noting that for parties of 2 the waits may be way shorter than for larger parties. On a bustling Friday night at 6:30pm our wait was under 5 minutes as a party of 2 despite there being a line outside the door. The dumplings were delicious: more flavorful, better ratio of filling/soup, and so many options to choose from. We also appreciated the ambiance much more than other dumpling restaurants. Having a corner buildijg location allows for windows on both sides (better natural light and views), the acoustics were better than other spots (so you can actually hear the person next to you), and being in a great area allows for walking/hanging out or grabbing a dessert or tea afterward.
Dumplings are such a treat for me, but I rarely get them because my wife isn't a huge fan. So, when my son and I caught a show at Davies Symphony Hall, we walked a couple blocks to try Dumpling Home. Wow! They were terrific!! The service was fast and friendly, the price was reasonable, the interior was clean and unpretentious, and the food was some of the best I've had in a decade. We ordered the hot and sour soup (delish!), the Numb & Spicy Pork Xiao Long Bao (the ABSOLUTE standout here!), the fried pork wontons (great!), the pork and vegetable pot stickers (solid), and the curry lamb dumplings (unique and savory!). In short, a terrific and wonderful experience. I see what all the fuss is about, and I can't wait to come back!
A really popular dumpling spot outside of Chinatown. Stopped by for lunch on a Monday around noon. Both the indoor tables and outdoor patio were completely packed, so we waited about 15 minutes to get seated. I’ve had mixed experiences with Bib Gourmand dumpling spots in the U.S., but this one was the best so far. Beef in Special Soy Sauce & Jellyfish Salad – Standard cold apps. Nothing particularly memorable, but just wanted something light and refreshing to start with before the heavier dishes. Dry-Cooked Green Beans – Usually not big on green beans solo, but this was highly recommended. Lightly coated in a savory sauce (probably oyster sauce plus something extra), which masked any bitterness and gave it a nice umami edge. Juicy Pork Bao – Very similar to Shanghai-style buns with crispy bottoms and juicy, flavorful pork inside. My favorite of the dumplings. Preferred them over the xiao long bao. Numb & Spicy Pork Xiao Long Bao – Despite the name, there was no numbing spice at all. Ended up giving them a generous pour of chili oil. So you might be better off just ordering the regular pork version. Beef Xiao Long Bao – I don’t think I’ve had beef in XLB form before, but this was really good. Juicy, well-seasoned, and honestly just good on its own. With chili oil, though, I still slightly preferred the pork.
Dumpling Home offers authentic and delicious Chinese food that truly impressed me. The soup dumplings were outstanding — they held all the flavorful broth without breaking, which is a challenge even for restaurants in China. The small bites were refreshing, tasty, and full of variety. Despite the lunch rush, the business ran smoothly with efficient service. Highly recommend!
Went on a thursday night. Expect a wait if you come after 6:30 pm, they don't seat you until you have the full party. That said, service was really quick once we sat down. We ordered the pork and beef pan-fried dumplings, pork xiao long bao, sauteed grean beans, cucumber, and the Zha Jiang noodles. Everything was really good. My favorite was the pan-fried dumplings, as I've never had that before. Just be careful as it does squirt everywhere if you bite into it. I liked the pork better than the beef dumpling. The cucumber was fresh, although I didn't really taste the garlic sauce. The xiao long bao was great, and the meat and sauce were very flavorful. Although personally, I thought they were on the bigger side. I prefer XLB that has an equal meat to pastry ratio. The green beans were perfectly crunchy. For 6 dishes, tea and 1 beer, we paid ~$120 including tips. This is a good portion for 3 people. Would definitely come back again.

One of the best dumpling spots in the city, usually packed but the trick is to go during the week for lunch
Food is amazing and very unique soup bao dumplings. Cost is reasonable and service is fast. Very busy though so you likely will have to wait.

What a delightful find! Across the street from SF Jazz, which was a bonus. No reservations, and people start lining up before it opens. Every du.pling was a perfect mouth explosion of flavor.

Went here for a family dinner and it was great. We got the beef, chicken and pork soup dumplings. The pork were the best. The green beans were great too.
We have been here twice for lunch and the food is sooo good. The pork dumplings are super popular. Hot and delicious! My kids fight over eating the last fried brussel sprout. The wait on a weekend …
If you are willing to wait, then this i worth waiting for. This has become our place of reference when going to new places to eat dumplings.
We had the steamed Beef Xiao Long Bao (8 pieces). Although we’re not very familiar with Chinese cuisine, we really enjoyed it. The dumplings were smooth and flavorful, and since they’re served very hot, be careful not to burn your tongue. Overall, it was very good for the price.
Their fried bun tastes better than the XLB, also very juicy. I got my pants ruined bc of the juice and that’s on me. So becareful. Use the little spoon, wait, suck it dry fist before you put it in your mouth. That is all
Juicy pork bao is the thing to get here, delicious soup inside and pan fried skin, but be careful of hot soup squirting. However, having been a few times, I find everything else decent but very overpriced and not worth the long dinner lines. If you can walk in with no during lunch, the juicy pork bao and xiao long baos are worth the try, otherwise not worth the wait and price generally
I’ve been to almost every dumpling spot in SF (my wife’s a big fan 😂), so I’d say I’ve got a decent benchmark. This place is solid, definitely good, but not the best in the city. The standout for me was the spicy pork soup dumpling, full of flavor and perfectly done. The sesame boiled dumpling was also above average. But the spicy beef boiled dumpling didn’t quite hit the mark, bland and forgettable. Be ready for a wait, there’s usually a line and it can take 20–30 minutes to get seated. Overall, worth trying, but I wouldn’t call it a top dumpling destination.

food was great, all the other reviews talk about it. I was shocked by the server. We got the bill and she came over to charge us. I swiped the card and the tip option came up. I put 0 tip because we had already collected tip to leave in cash. As i press the button, she goes "so youre not gonna leave a tip?" I was shocked. I said "yes we have it cash" and pointed to it. about 5mins later, we are still finishing up the last few bites and she comes over to pick up a plate and goes "so wheres the cash tip?". We were all baffled. Such rude and entitled service. We felt rushed out and the fact that she essentially demanded an OPTIONAL tip twice within 5 mins was very offputting. Wont be coming back
I feel like the only thing I'd recommend ordering would be the juicy beef bao. Xiao long bao was not bad, but just ok to me. The beef noodle soup was the most unusual I've had, the broth was cl…

Honestly, I was disappointed, especially for a spot on the Michelin Guide. We tried the xiao long bao, dan dan noodles, green onion pancake, and pork baos. The xiao long bao were just okay mid at best and honestly, other places around San Francisco do them better. The dan dan noodles tasted more like peanut sauce with noodles; I wouldn’t order them again. The green onion pancake was the worst, so undercooked it was basically raw dough. The pork baos were better, the filling was decent but the breading was so thick it felt almost like hard candy. Overall, I expected much more from a Michelin-recognized spot.
