Come for the soup dumplings (most natural and least greasy filling), stay for the hearty mushroom and pork rib soup. Also has the best string beans in town!
Highlights. All the dumplings. Dessert dumplings. Braised beef noodle soup. House made chili oil
Xialongbao and Pan Fried Pork Bao were top notch, really tasty. Good meat and a salty, rich broth. Warm and wholesome. Green beans and chow mein were solid accompaniments, but as the name suggests, you have to order some dumplings to have a great meal. Custard texture on the custard buns was a little grainy, but the flavor was sensational. Sweet and light. Friendly staff, quick service, very reasonable prices. We came in at 3:00 on a Saturday and were eating our first course by 3:15. Thai iced tea was just serviceable, I imagine the hot teas are probably better. Without reservation, would recommend 10/10
Amazing dumplings. Try the green onion pancakes and the Shanghai pan fried pork bao, they are unbelievable
This was the best Chinese restaurant I’ve ever had in my entire life, and that’s saying something cause I’ve eaten at a lot of different Chinese restaurants. My brothers came with me and they agree. Anytime I’m in San Francisco I will come here.
Food was phenomenal. All the classics, but each one improved in some noticeable way — I would not have thought it possible. The whole family, including kids, agreed. Worth a 45-60 min drive for us to repeat dine in, which we will as soon as possible! After more family discussion, I have come back with an addendum. Best dumplings in the Bay Area, in our view!
One of my favorite Chinese restaurants in SF. Chewy noodles, delicious broth, super thin dumpling skin with juicy and big filling. fast and kind service
Had lunch here yesterday with a friend, and what a great weekday lunch or post-lunch gem! We had the whole restaurant to ourselves like mafia vibes, which I love being able to enjoy eating out in a major city with no distractions. Parking is horrible here, but it's right outside Forest Hill station, so it's better off taking public transit if you're not within a mile radius. It's definitely a locals only vibe, but it just comes when it's least busy for the best experience. We ordered a braised beef noodle soup, pork xiao long bao, pan fried juicy pork bag, green onion pancakes, and har gow. Classic shrimp dumplings, on the smaller side, but you get 4 pieces vs. 3. The skin was good, and it tasted fresh. Their green onion pancake is some of the best I've had. I appreciated it being really crispy throughout. Some places don't get a good sear, and you get chewy and burnt textures. Whether that's intentional, I liked the consistency here. Both baos were perfect and delicious. Super hot temperature, flavorful pork, and the half fried half steamed had a really nice chewy/crisp texture. Perfect dough to meat ratio, I'd say some of the best I've had in the city. The beef noodle soup was my least favorite. While the noodles and braised beef were so good and tender, the broth needed more spice or numbing flavor. Still, overall, the meal was excellent. Service was quick and efficient. We ordered through our phone/a qr, which sent the ticket to them. I'll definitely return to try other things on the menu.
Have been there twice and will be going back. Their dumplings are good - there are many places around here that are great at dumplings so it’s hard to stand out, but their dumplings don’t have skin that’s too thick, don’t rip when you lift them and have a decent amount of soup. The noodles are great especially the flavors in the chili oil noodle and I really want to try to hot and sour noodles but it’s always out of stock. Mostly I was very surprised at how much I enjoyed the black custard buns. Usually a restaurant is good at certain dishes but not others, but this place seems to be an all rounder. Slightly fewer stars on service as their self ordering system didn’t work and after a long time the waiter didn’t think it was weird that he hadn’t received our order yet, and didn’t think to check more diligently. Overall very pleased to have this gem in the neighborhood!
We went here with the kids as they love Dumplings and were obsessed with Din Tai Fung in Singapore. The menu looked great and it lived up to our expectations and the kids. Really nice service a popular choice with the local Asian population in San Fran!
I got here because of a tik tok review! I drove 2 1/2 hours because it was the first place I wanted to try for my first time eating dumplings and let me tell you ! I was impressed ! idk what they are suppose to taste like but they were so good ! I appreciate the kind service and the 1 on 1 on how not to burn my mouth haha ! Anyways can’t wait to come back . Thank you 😊
Our family has been going to Eddy’s Dumpling Zone regularly 🥟 for their XLB soup dumplings, string beans, beef noodle soup, and fried soup buns since the pandemic era. Parking is available in the neighborhood, the back, or you can walk from the bus station or Forrest Hill Muni station 🚉
Lowkey think this might be the best XLB in the city - you'd never expect it from the location but they're stellar (and the pan-fried dumplings are maybe even better!). Friendly service, usually can get a table without a wait.
Dumplings 🥟 are created in house and you can tell! All food was completely delicious 😋. Owners are super awesome 😎 and I can’t wait for round 2!!! Vegan friendly too…
A very underrated dumpling spot in SF. I love their green onion pancake and beef noodle soup. Their xiao long baos are also pretty good!
I never make an effort to leave reviews, but I feel compelled to leave one here. Literally the best XLBs you’ll find in SF, hands down. I just came back from Taiwan, and the dumplings here rival what I had there. If you like XLBs (and at a reasonable price to boot), go to Dumpling Zone.
yummy xiao long bao, wontons, and other steamed items. Also enjoyed the garlic pea shoots. Perfect post twin peaks meal
Out of all the dumpling places in the city, this place is among one of the best. And I can even say it’s better than dumpling home at Hayes valley. Potsticker and Shengjianbao are extremely juicy and fresh. The big plate pork ribs is phenomenal. Price is extremely good for the city. Highly recommend!!!!
The dumplings were very tasty with good service. The only downside was that I had to order over the phone rather than in person; however, payment was made by handing it to the server.
This place might have had one of the best Shanghai pan fried pork buns I've tried. All of the other items that we got -- xiaolongbao, green beans, tan tan mien, and chili oil wontons -- were also superb. Definitely would recommend.
Came here for the first time from a friends recommendation for XLB. The XLB did not disappoint!!! I’d recommend to go and I’d also come back to eat again. The wrap around the XLB was strong, and there was the right amount of soup inside. Do not be intimidated by the store front. Just go in and order your XLB.
On Saturday around 7 PM, we stopped by Dumpling Zone after reading solid reviews online. The wait for our party of five was about 30 minutes, but parking was easy since it’s located in a residential part of Midtown. The restaurant is small—maybe a dozen tables—and was packed with families and a large birthday parties. It’s a casual spot with one main server and one runner. You can order food online or directly through a staff member, and they’ll bring everything to your table. We decided to try all the most recommended dishes from the review sites and the photos displayed on their window—and we were so glad we did. Every dish we ordered was delicious. Prices were very reasonable—actually more affordable than many other dumpling places we’ve tried, probably because of its unassuming location. Portions were generous too, which made it feel like a great deal overall. The vibe is super casual—nothing fancy—but the service, while basic, came with a smile. We really appreciated the personality of our server; he was friendly, attentive, and made sure we were updated on our table status. He was clearly keeping an eye on everything and even watched for when guests were wrapping up so he could manage the waitlist efficiently. No reservations are taken, but he kept names on a handwritten list. We were so stuffed from our meal that we didn’t make it to dessert, but we’ll definitely be back to try more items next time we’re in town. Highly recommend!
I just back from Taiwan and was craving red braised beef noodle soup. This was better than most of the ones I had in Taiwan! Flavorful broth, chewy noodles, and tender meat. Highly recommend. I’ve already ordered it for delivery a few times and recommended it to a few friends.
We loved every item we ordered and cannot wait to return. These were the best dumplings and noodle soup we've ever had! We order boiled (chicken and mushroom), steamed (veggies), and fried (pork, shrimp, and chive) and each one seemed better than the last. And not being a mushroom or veggie fan, I was quite surprised at how much I liked both of those and would definitely order both again. (The fried pork and shrimp was simply off the hook!) We also had the garlic cucumber which was new to us and is delicious, and the beef noodles which were insanely good, with so much flavor that I had to ask if there was any pork in the broth, but nope, it was just the most succulent (and fatty) beef. The ordering can be done via app, the service is quick and efficient, and the ambiance is comfortable/casual, although to be honest, was a little boring. (With those high ceilings, I'd love to see some hanging artwork, like maybe some hug paper-mache fish like we saw at an Asian place we recently dined at outside the country.) I'm not sure where one is supposed to park but we found a dirt spot in the lot nextdoor, but don't know if it was legal. I assume there is street parking nearby but did not see any dedicated lot nor did I remember to ask. Overall, this was a great dining experience, especially when heading to or from the airport. (We live in the North Bay.)
We were actually going somewhere else that ended up closing for the day after we drove to that side of town, and looked in Google for an alternative and came across this gem. The dumplings were spectacular, the pea shoots, also great and we got hot and sour soup which was yummy and very peppery, which was a bit different, but great none the less. The waiter (possibly owner) was delightful, the portions large and the food, everything, 5 stars. Hole in the wall atmosphere, which to me added, not subtracted, from the charm, and very clean.
Everything we ordered was delicious and full of flavor! We will definitely be back. Favorites in order: pork wonton in chili oil, pan fried pork bao, xlb, pea shoots
Super fast service and so friendly. You order from the QR code at your table and I liked the convenience of that for checkout time too. All the food was consistently delicious, nothing was lacking in flavor or dimension! All of the meats in each dish were seasoned well and had wonderful texture. The shop is small and quiet with a mom and pop shop vibe. I personally think it added to the experience by highlighting the food and not distracting with anything flashy. Highly recommend if you're in the mood for something comforting, delicious, and really cheap for the excellent quality of the experience.
We stopped here to eat, a hidden gem in my opinion. Parking is on the street, once you enter you sit and order using the QR code located on the table. They bring you the food and then you pay via your QR code. It’s was a bit tight in there and it was full that’s how we knew it was going to be good, we were right the food was amazing and didn’t disappoint. We ordered spicy and regular steamed pork bao, steamed veggie dumplings, pan fried shrimp pot stickers and pan fried bao. Everything was cooked fresh and very flavorful. Really glad we came across this restaurant, if your in San Francisco give them a try.
MUST ORDER: Pan Fried Baozi stuffed with Pork! So juicy and tasty! Distinctly delicious compared to other restaurants. Server is friendly but a bit noisy vibe
There are a million dumpling restaurants now but this one is a standout! Come for the food, extremely flavorful. FLAVORFUL! No additional sauce needed. The soup dumplings, steamed chicken dumplings, and pan fried baos were especially memorable.
This place is pretty special. We dined in for lunch without much expectation. But we were pleasantly surprised. We had the garlic cucumber, steamed xiao long bao, and the pan-fried xiao long bao between the two of us. The flavors were quite on point. The dumpling skins were thin and cooked to the perfect amount of chewiness. The pan-fried XLBs were quite special; I've never seen them half fried like this before. The shape holds up all the soup inside. We will definitely be back for more and to try their noodles out. There were a couple tables around us that sounded like regular customers, so that's reassuring! The place is clean, the staff is friendly. It's more modern than a typical hole-in-the-wall dumpling place.
Lovely lunch. Food was outstanding and hosts were kind. We were visiting from out of town and picked this restaurant on a whim. It was way further than I thought I would have wanted to drive but well worth it. Super happy with our meal. It looks like a small family run restaurant and we were happy to support them.

I m always skeptical when I walk in to a dumpling house to find pre frozen pre made food or just pre made noodles that get reheated even more when being a Chef and having visited many kitchens. NOT the case here this is a great place and everything is delish but the best is the beef stew big plate it’s really delicious!! The noodles the beef the sauce everything just comes together. My family and I will be back!!!
Excellent food, pricing and service! The young man serving us was so kind and talkative, he's the best! We had the green scallion pancakes and won ton soup. Thank you for a wonderful dinner!
Dumpling Zone never disappoints! The dumplings are always fresh, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. The soup dumplings are juicy with just the right amount of broth, and the pan-fried baos are a must. Friendly service and consistently delicious food — one of our go-to spots in San Francisco!

Majority of the tood we ordered were good. The top pick is the Shanghai Xiao Long Bao which is a meat & soup dumpling & the Shrimp Pork & Chives Pot Stickers. The dumplings were juicy & the skin is thin but chewy like they should be. We like the spicy fish noodle soup and the green onion pancakes. We also ordered the big plate chicken noodle but ended up not liking it as the noodles were extremely thick.
Parking is a challenge. Neighborhood location. Excellent Shaoxing dumplings. Green scallions pancake hot, savory & tasty. Spicy fish noodles was great.
The food was amazing and the service was even better! Our waiter was very accommodating and didn’t say anything about my kids running all over the place. My only note is that the location leaves much to be desired, you can hear cars honking all over the place. But overall great little family-run restaurant :)

Very cute restaurant. I went in lunar new year around 4pm and there were a couple families dining there. You scan the QR code on your table and they’ll bring it out to you. I only had the chicken chow mein and the garlic cucumbers and it was good. The chow mein lowkey needed a little more seasoning but it’s still good.
Came for a casual lunch, pretty disappointed tbh. The hot and sour soup had so much black pepper that it was pretty much inedible! i love spicy food but this was very one dimensional and flat with heat that kills all the other flavors! Shanghai pan fried pork baos were ok… standard, nothing to rave about… Won’t be coming back here.

We decided to come here after seeing the high ratings, and we’re stunned by how untrue the reviews are. We ordered beef noodle soup, XLB, potstickers, and chocolate banana XLB. The beef in the noodle soup didn’t taste fresh and was under seasoned. I love beef but it was so bad that I couldn’t finish. When the potstickers were served, we are just shocked. I’ve never seen potstickers look like this! Was it dumplings pretending to be potstickers? Their signature dish, xiao long bao, in Chinese means little basket bun. Tell me why these are humongous basket buns? To its credit, the dough was thin and soft. However, the pork had a flavor that’s not reminiscent of the classic pork filling. For dessert, we had chocolate banana xiao long bao. Again, they were not small. The chocolate filling was so sweet that it overpowered any chocolate flavor it had. We were so unhappy with the meal that we forgot to take pictures of the dessert. Just for the record, we’ve been to MANY Chinese and XLB restaurants. This is probably the worst and the weirdest food we have ever had. Would not recommend if you want authentic and delicious dumplings.
