Opinions de Rosemary & Pine San Francisco
One of the best meals I’ve had in a long time. The house made sourdough was INCREDIBLE. The short rib pasta was truly out of this world. And the duck breast was maybe the best I’ve ever had. I will definitely come back to try more! Also, I was able to call on a Saturday and make a reservation at the bar for dinner even though there were no reservations available online. Dining at the bar was a great experience!
Sunday reservation for brunch scored on a cloudy day did not disappoint. Rock star parking and warm welcome kicked off the great experience. Sat inside but there is outside seating available. Pitcher of Paloma 's makes a sunny day, while a pitcher of Pimm' s requires a sunny day. Pitcher with it's own spout arrived filled with a well balanced mixture that went down a bit too easily. Started with the cod coquettes - soft pillows surrounded with crispy potato chips with hint of malt vinegar. Not a fan of ranch dressing, but the homemade version side on the side with the fresh herbs was a pleasant tasty surprise. I had the duck gravy, biscuits with hen egg. The egg was a gorgeous and rich yellow, biscuit dense and crisp and the gravy rich and flavorful. I suggest a nice grind of black pepper to cut through all that richness. Partner in crime has the soft scrambled eggs, side of crispy potatoes and smoky bacon on suggestion by another staff members. Everything was done well, however, one note and needed something to complement or cut the richness. Will be back and highly recommend!! Atmosphere rated lower due to all the hard surfaces which amplify loud customer conversations which made it difficult to hear my dining partner.
this was perfect, from the ambience to the service to the food. get the buratta, honey nut squash pasta, potato and leek soup and crème brûlée (those were the standouts!) I’d definitely go back for those items alone. The chefs are really putting in the work and I’m so glad I got to experience it!
We've been here twice. One for dinner and once for lunch (brunch?) on a Sunday. The caramelized french toast is really good. According to our serve it's overnight soaked brioche bread and then cooked for 15 minutes on the griddle to caramelize the sugars. Definitely delicious with or without the maple syrup. We also had the pepperoni pizza 🍕. Very thin crust and crispy. The pasta was a duck sugo with mushrooms (vadouvan campanelle). It was a little rich and creamy (butter?) but not over the top rich. All three are highly recommended.
This place is great. It’s rare in San Francisco to find an exceptional restaurant you can drop in on without a reservation: this place is that. The pastas are all outstanding, the bread isn’t to be missed, and _the cocktails_. *chefs kiss* We hope to become regulars.
Was pleasantly surprised by this place when I went with a few friends a couple of weeks ago. The food, drinks, atmosphere, service, and presentation were all super on point. If with a group, get the paloma "pitcher" and split any dessert with the cream cheese ice cream, it's so tasty.
This was an amazing brunch spot. The service was excellent. We were there was a busy brunch session, but we found the setting worthwhile and took advantage by getting some great drinks. The food was excellent, helped out by the fact the menu focused on doing a few things really well with great ingredients. While we arrive at a busy time and waited a bit for our food to arrive, our waiter checked in often, got our drinks to us fast and made sure we got what we needed. Definitely worth your time.
R & P has exquisitely prepared comfort food in a casual but stylish environment. The menu is somewhat limited, but that doesn't really matter because what is there is so good. The menu includes a few breakfast dishes, some salads, and several sandwiches. The French toast was both beautiful and delicious. As was the spinach and radicchio salad. Even the avocado toast looked amazing.
Came here for happy hour and everything was AMAZING. Happy hour seating is at the bar from 5 - 630 and the place became pretty lively around dinner on a Wednesday but no wait! Really nice outdoor seating and a great place to get away from the chaos of the city. I live about a 15 minute walk away, and I hadn't been here yet but it's a wonderful addition to the restuarants in the neighborhood. We spent about 3 hours here because the vibes, service, and staff, were so amazing. We will definitely be coming back here to try brunch! 😀
Modern American cuisine from Michelin-Starred Chef Dustin Falcon. Came here for dinner with a few friends and enjoyed our evening from start to finish! Great cocktail program and wide variety of spirits. Menu was seasonal with a great curation of local produce and variety of proteins. Wait staff was prompt, attentive and well informed of the menu and recommendations. To sum it up, high end fare in an approachable menu. Would recommend for friends, family or business dinners! Also includes indoor and outdoor seating!
Outstanding! We ate brunch here yesterday and we absolutely loved it. We shared the Cod croquettes and Potato Leek Soup to start. My husband said he had "the best Biscouts and gravy of my life" and I had the golden beet pizza. The crust was perfection; the kind that you actual eat the entire crust not just the part of the pizza with all of the toppings. The pickling spices with the goat cheese was absolutely delicious. We both really enjoyed our Tequila cocktails and they didn't skimp on the Tequila either. To finish we shared an Affagato with Cream Cheese Ice Cream. Cream. Cheese. Ice. Cream. Aaamazing. Friendly staff, very nice atmosphere with excellent music including Charles Bradley, Etta James and Ray Charles. This is the experience we hope for when we go out to eat but so rarely find. We really wanted to try everything on the menu so, we'll definitely be back the next time we're in the area. By the way, we eat only organic food and we found this restaurant by searching for organic and sustainable restaurants. We REALLY appreciate the quality of the ingredients and the care.
This place is a hidden gem. Everything was amazing and perfect - food, service, and ambiance. My friend and I got two items from the menu to share 1. Liberty farm duck sausage gravy, buttermilk biscuit, sunny side hen egg 2. Caramelized French brioche toast, berries, bourbon maple syrup. The name of both items would suggest that they'd be heavy, but you'd be surprised to find out that they were very light. The gravy was creamy, and the biscuit was cooked well. It crumbled easily. Carmalization on French toast was good, and the bread itself was very light, and felt like I was eating a cloud. It had just the right amount of sweetness. I am definitely going back to check out their dinner menu. This is my new favorite brunch spot in the city. Part of me doesn't want it to become popular and well-known so I can come often with no wait times but the other part of me wants people to enjoy this amazing place. 10/10 would recommend it. Bonus- there is plenty of street parking around the restaurant - both paid and free
Really great food! We came for brunch. The caramelized brioche toast was the highlight for me, it was sweet and soft but had a crunchy sugar crust. The eggs benedict, fries r&p style, and grilled cheese were all really tasty. The service was also really great! Food came out in a timely manner. It’s been awhile since I’ve had waiters as phenomenal as the people here.
Yet another addition to the restaurant family of Omakase, Niku, etc in the design destrict. This place has extremely cute vibes, excellent service, and the food was amazing! Would highly recommend for a cute date night. We started with the crispy buratta and house sourdough - both of which were delicious and beautifully presented. They are must- tries for your first visit but not sure if special enough to reorder on a second visit. We shared the corn and duck pastas and skipped the mains on the menu. I absolutely LOVED the corn pasta, it had hints of Mexico street corn but done in such an elevated way. The duck pasta was good too but the corn pasta unfortunately stole the show for me. Lastly, we got the bread pudding for dessert, our waitress suggested adding a side of sour cream ice cream for $4 and I did not regret that choice. So yummy! Would love to come back and try out their brunch menu next time.
Love the interior! Really beautiful yet homey feel. The bar is super nice. Service is also impeccable. Everyone pays close attention and they make sure to clean your table and change your plates between courses. Our favorite dishes were the squash agnolotti , veal chop, and for dessert the bread pudding. The agnolotti was super buttery and perfect bite with the squash on top. The veal chop is a really big portion, perfect for 3-4 people to share. We had a hard time picking the dessert but the staff highly recommended the bread pudding and it definitely didn’t disappoint. Overall, really enjoyed our meal and it wasn’t super hard to make a reservation. My in laws also loved it. Will definitely be back.
Enjoyed a Saturday brunch with family at the R&P. Great atmosphere, attentive service and some of our favorite dishes ever! Enjoyed a classic Bloody Mary. Started out with a perfect burrata. Our party had a burger (best ever), eggs Benedict (same), the salmon pizza most decadent French toast. So good!
Highly recommend this lovely restaurant! The food was delicious and the staff was so kind. We even asked the staff to help us surprise our wedding officiant and they did not hesitate to help make the moment special. For appetizers, don’t pass up on the bread - it’s divine!
The space is beautiful, and food was perfect. The steak was cooked just right and really nicely seasoned. Plus they nailed the brussel sprouts, and the passion fruit sorbet. This place really is a gem--kinda surprised I was able to get reservations on a Saturday night so easily 😅
We had a delicious brunch for 3 on the outdoor patio, which was decorated with warm, vibrant seats and decorative plants. For starters, we got the crispy burrata and cod croquettes, which both lived up to our server's description as the crowd favorites. The smoked salmon pizza was pretty good but wasn't great, while the vadouvan lumache was delicious and rich in flavor. For the main courses, we got the liberty farm duck sausage gravy with buttermilk biscuit, which was my girlfriend's favorite, and the caramelized brioche french toast, which was my favorite. Overall, I had a great experience and would come back.
Went here for dinner and was delighted to see the cute outdoor patio and seating as you walk in. We sat indoors but will be asking to sit outside next time. The cocktails were really good. I got the What the Dill and loved the flavors in the drink which included a bit of pickle juice, which I loved. Our server also gave us some shishito peppers as a treat and that was a nice touch. For my main, I ordered the Brentwood Corn pasta and was blown away with how tasty and flavorful it was. It was so good, I would definitely recommend and will certainly order it again. I also recommend their bread, it was so fluffy and light and it came with a nice tasty soft butter. As for their dessert, the bread pudding was a big winner. Will get it again and will certainly come back.
Showplace Square is just full of surprises (SF really gotta chill with all its neighborhood names lol). I didn’t know this restaurant existed until my coworker booked our team dinner there. The overall experience was simply fantastic, from driving over and parking to eating and drinking. The food here is so good, you really can’t go wrong with anything. Easy 5 stars for service and atmosphere as well. When they brought out our pastas, we were all thinking “This isn’t impressive at all!” BUT our minds changed after our first bite. Texture’s amazing! Flavors amazing! Portion size.. different story but I’m a big eater. Highly recommend going family style and ordering their crispy burrata, vadouvan campanelle, berkshire pork chop, and basque cheesecake. You won’t regret it!
Wonderful food and cocktails in a cozy/modern space with very friendly staff. You honestly can't go wrong here, but standouts for me were the sage advice cocktail, crispy burrata (don't miss this!), sourdough bread, and honeynut squash pasta. Can't wait to come back!
lovely lovely brunch. all the classics, plus amazing mushroom and duck pasta, al dente cook and savory sauce. french toast was THICK and breakfast potatoes are kind of like squared tater tots with lard. super amazing atmosphere inside, impeccable service!

Food was good but overpriced. Biggest issue was the server. We constantly had to flag him down to get a basic level of service. They should promote the bus boys who were far more attentive and polite and ditch the lackluster waiter who made the experience sub par. Cocktails were great!
good job! it just moved to the old dumpling time express spot and downsized, as well as moved to a brunch/lunch only spot. the french toast was good especially once the syrup soaked in, but it was definitely more on the burnt rather than caramelized side of things which was unfortunate the burger was AMAZING and you must get so flavorful and delicious. eggs benedict was good but nothing remarkable. the waffle fries were also delicious! server was very friendly and food was out quick! we were there the first saturday they opened at the new location so there was no wait but it’s a small space so once it gets more popular i would recommend making a reservation.
Had a nice time eating brunch here at Rosemary & Pine. It’s a small menu, which I like because it’s less decision making for me and allows better quality control. I got the breakfast sando with avocado and a cinnamon swirl pastry. The cinnamon swirl pastry came out first, with butter and jam, and it was yummy. I didn’t need the butter since it was a croissant, but the jam added a nice fruity flavor with the cinnamon. I ate a bit of it, and wanted to save the rest as dessert after my entree. The breakfast sando was tall! I needed a knife to cut it in half, and I should’ve just deconstructed it into smaller bites. But I’m no lady when I eat so I just went for it. It was very messy to eat, but it was delicious, especially with some hot sauce. The egg was super fluffy and the English muffin, which was house made, had nicely-crisp edges. The sandwich was pricey. It was $16, and an extra $3 for avocado. The quality of ingredients was high, but I’m not sure if I’d venture out to the Design District for this sandwich. Maybe if it came with a side, I might be willing. However, their Korean-inspired fried chicken sandwich looks good so I would like to come back and try that. Service was exceptional! The wait staff came by frequently to check on us and fill our waters. It’s also nicely decorated inside with lots of natural lighting. And they also have outdoor seating. They’re currently open for brunch only.. they close at 2pm each day. I would like to come back to try their lunch options.
Cute neighborhood spot great for a date night or brunch! The rosemary sourdough is amazing. LOVED the black cod with green pasta (forgot the name) and the salad (forgot the name but with some shaved egg yolk) Seafood pasta was disappointing though. The dessert cobbler was good but quite sweet. Will come back since it’s in the neighborhood and has great vibe and overall good quality.
updated 9/2024: came to their new location focusing on brunch. food was still top tier and want it to thrive but it’s low traffic location and brunch focus might not be the right choice. service was also pretty bad - our server focused more on the theatrics and his stories than actually serving us. forgetting our order multiple times, not refilling our water and waiting forever for the cheque. overall, the food is perfect but need to improve on the other aspects. i want to see this place survive! avocado toast: fresh ingredients, perfectly toasted sourdough and a great combo of flavors. loved the chili crisp cinnamon roll: dry and lacked flavor. would recommend switching up pastry vendor. —————- pricy meal but worth the splurge for special occasions. came here for lunch and cocktails and didn’t disappoint. one of the best cocktail spots in the city! what’s the dill: so refreshing! perfect cocktail on a sunny day. smooth and creamy drink clear skies: really enjoyed this one too! reminiscent of a smoky pina colada but not sweet or too sour ill crispy burrata: really enjoyed this; great combo of crispiness to richness of the burrata to the creamy sauce vadouvan spaghetti: noodles were al dente, duck was tender, juicy and flavorful, sauce was not too overpowering. overall a great dish
Overall the experience was quite good, just with a little lacking. First the pros - starters were amazing, and the pastas were very rich (albeit a tad salty towards the end). As others have said, the cocktails here are fantastic. Biggest con would be the actual space itself - it’s a new restaurant but the place is generally half full. For such a large space, it does impact the overall mood of the place. I know it just opened, so hopefully in time the energy will be up! Food was very tasty, but for the pedigree of the chef, it wasn’t the amazing bang I was hoping for. Still would recommend checking out if you’re in the area.
We had a great time at Rosemary and Pine! Their pasta dishes are a must-try, we loved the contrast between the rich savory of the duck vadouvan spaghetti and the light tomato-y paccheri alla vodka. The sourdough and crispy veal chop were both good, but not really worth the hefty price tag. To me, the veal chop kind of felt like a schnitzel… Dessert was delicious as well, I was super excited to try the sunchoke panna cotta as it had been featured on Eater’s list of unique desserts, but it was actually the caramelized white chocolate bread pudding on its bed of blackberry sauce that really wowed me. The berries had such a bright, complex flavor that contrasted perfectly against the sweet bread pudding.
I’d love to revisit valcony next time when the weather gets warmer. Pizza menu is only available on lunch time🥲Kinda small portion of dishes but pork chop is good for sharing. My favorite dishes are squid ink pasta, croquette, pork chop, and chocolate pudding!!!
Great food, with a seasonal menu and some staple year-round dishes such as their famous Crispy Burrata (which was phenomenal). My personal favourite was their liberty duck in orange sauce (seasonal) and the harissa cauliflower. Service isn’t the best, but in a small restaurant like this you barely could feel the void, especially when you have a kitchen to peer into and great food to keep you entertained.
The food here is absolutely amazing. The general vibe and atmosphere here is casual and it gets pretty noisy with kids and people talking very loud. If that's not for you, you might find this annoying. The wait staff is either not very observant or not very attentive. They could do a better job at gauging our need, rather than always waiting for us to ask explicitly.
I followed an Instagram Reels and decided to give Rosemary& Pine a try. They said "it's a must try." Frankly speaking, I was not happy at first. It's so loud, people here were talking really loud and there's several babies at the moment we were there. After ordering, the wait for drinks and food takes super long time to arrive. Besides water, we have nothing on the table for about 15-20 mins. My mood gradually changed after we have our first bite, Everything we ordered was delicious. And my cocktail Guavarama is yummy . After 2 drinks, I kind of enjoy the night club feelings during brunch time. Even though we think the service here is not attentive enough. Overall, we think it's a very good restaurant and yes, it's a must try.

This place has transitioned from a fancy sit-down restaurant to more of a fast-casual spot. We ordered a grilled cheese sandwich, a fried chicken sandwich, a burger, and a side of thick-cut bacon. Before discussing the food, I'd like to mention our waiter/cashier. He had such nervous energy that he was not a pleasant person to interact with. He seemed like did a line before speaking with us, was overly "in your face," made multiple errors on the bill, and when we corrected him, he responded with, "shush, I’m trying to do something here... don’t talk." - his exact words. My coworkers, who have also been to this restaurant, had similar experiences, describing him as "a bit too much." On the other hand, the other waiter with long hair was very nice. Now for the food: Overall, it was mediocre at best. The chicken lacked seasoning, the grilled cheese was decent but overloaded with about a quarter-pound of cheese, which you might enjoy if you're a cheese lover, and the burger was just okay. The bacon wasn't what we would call "thick cut." I will not be returning.
Came by in Dec'22. Had a subpar meal. Ambiance is nice though. Ordered a guavarama and a Drake's IPA. Cocktail was average. Drake's IPA is always safe. Ate the below: -oysters: nothing too special -pork chop: ok. There were a few pieces that looked a bit raw... -sourdough: probably the best thing out of the meal haha. Baked well. -potatoes: ok -creme brulee: a bit of a let down. Really small. Overall, meal was way too pricey for we had with a lot of inconsistency. There was a 6% SF mandate tax auto added on the bill. Easy reservation made online. Maybe 1/5 full on a Friday night. That was probably why staff was hovering a bit. Street parking only.
The website menu does not match what they actually served. We were very excited for the multiple variations of the Ramos Gin Fizz, one of our favorite cocktails. The server was very nonchalant and said the online menu is only a sample of what to expect - they don’t actually serve that. Gave us a judgmental look as if it was our fault to expect to order what was shown on the menu. Kind of rolled her eyes and said they haven’t been serving that for month and a half now. The website does not have a disclaimer that it is a sample menu (I know some restaurants do). I also don’t think it is unreasonable to expect that the restaurant will serve what they show online - its not like we were seeking a specific vintage of a rare wine. Anyway - walked out. Quite disappointing.
