Zombie Village has all the classic Tiki Rum Drinks and more! Their welcoming and in the end the drinks will make you walk out like the happiness zombie in town.

Beautifully designed tiki bar with great drinks and vibe. There’s private cubicles on the side for group seating. Nice place to be overall if you want casual conversation.

Grrrreat review of Zombie Village! Me found this place in a not-so-safe part of town, but me braved it, and oh boy, it was worth it. As me shuffled in, the atmosphere hit me like a fresh brain. The bar area was huuge with walls all lit up by spooky projection mapping. Made me feel right at home, or should me say, "un-dead at home." Me also noticed the small coves in the corners and at the back. Perfect for group feasts on human... err, I mean, drinks. Those cozy hideaways were to die for! And the bathrooms, they played tropical music! Me nearly danced my zombie jig in there. It was groovy. But let's get to the main dish – the drinks. They took a while, but that's 'cause they're custom-made from scratch. The garnish was so detailed; me almost felt bad taking a bite. But oh, the taste, like a piece of heaven in a skull-shaped glass! Prices were acceptable for this neck of the woods, and me would gladly go again. Zombie Village, you won me un-dead heart.

1 of the most top notch tiki bars I’ve had the pleasure of experiencing. The drink I had was fantastic and the menu says “limit of 2 per customer” I guess that means it’s super strong. 😊 Vibe and atmosphere were complete surprise and very impressive. I felt like I was on an island in the Philippines or Hawaii somewhere.

After a long and fun day of walking all over the place, we were looking for a mighty cocktail. One that puts you in the mood for Polynesian travels with a soundtrack of delightful tunes from the likes of Willie Bobo, Dorothy Ashby and Les Baxter along with a gorgeous mix of Tiki themes (Moai statues, fantastic wood carvings) and beautiful lights from above and displayed on the walls. The drinks were delicious and packed a good punch! They also have these great little booths that you can call ahead and reserve for a nice private space to drink your Mai Tais safely. I look forward to coming back here again!

Drinks are amazing! Atmosphere amazing! It's an experience you won't forget.

This place is fabulous. Decor is next level and creates all the ambiance you could want. There were nooks to mingle in, but we were lucky enough to snag a table cove. Very comfy and great for actually conversing with friends. Note: Reservations are recommended for weekend tables and you will be asked to place all drink orders with your server. Cocktail menu is rum heavy (it is a tiki bar after all) and some of our group had issues ordering classic cocktails (think cosmo). I quite enjoyed the scorpion bowl, but some thought it was "strong"; I thought it was well balanced. Great place to start your night. 10/10 would recommend and 10/10 would return.

This is one of the best bars in San Francisco! The bartenders are absolutely phenomenal, the vibe is great, it's not loud, and the drinks are real good and unique. It's near a rough area, but if you can get in here, it will be one of the best times you'll ever have!

This place should not be missed when in SF. Entering the bar feels like entering a whole new dimension with a stary sky and a central bar with “houses” situated around it. The drinks are super strong, don’t underestimate them.

Very unique place. Teepee style bar. Beautifully decorated. Many little settings; cave, night sky star lights, teepee, bar, second floor. Very nice place for dates. The drinks where we'll balanced, bartenders take pride on every drink. Very clean and fresh. GF had several drinks and even a mocktail mix, coconut ginger drink very tasty.

Looking for fun Tiki drinks and an escape from the city? Go to Zombie Village and try a delicious drink. Wander past the tiki huts you can reserve in advance and grab a seat in one of the wooden bucket seats at the bar to watch drinks get mixed and shaken. Try the Jamaican Zombie - it has scotch bonnet chilis but isn’t that spicy. The service is top notch and friendly - if you don’t see something you like they can make a drink to your liking. The decor makes you think of a faraway place in the South Seas a tikis, grass thatched roofs and a watery projection on the walls’ maps makes you appreciate the thought that went into designing this themed bar.

I stumbled on the place accidentally and was pleasantly surprised by this incredible bar. As soon as you walk in, you're transported to different location. You can sit at the bar and view the mystical lighting on the walls or sit in your own private tiki hut. The drinks themselves were some of the best! Not too sweet, and they all pack a punch. Highly recommend checking this place out!

Lovely tiki themed bar with a wide variety of tasty drinks and fun decor. Reservations are recommended if your party want their own personal hut. Be sure to spend some time looking up at their stars.

I'm teetering on giving only 4 starts. When we first met out friends in one of the privates booths I waited for about 10 minutes before finally going to the bar and asking if there was a waiter??? "yes" I was told, but since I was at the bar already I just ordered. When the server showed up he was totally nice, and helpful, but I should have to shlep my own drinks when I"m paying top $$ for custom tiki drinks. But the visit was good and I recommend people go for the atomosphere and drinks. Very dark, and well decorated. A great first date bar.

The vibes!!! A little smoke machine magic and you are right in the middle of a mysterious tiki village. The staff is just wonderful and so are the drinks!

I went after work with my girlfriend on a Tuesday. It wasn't too crowded and we were able to grab a table and hold a conversation. The attention to detail with the decorations is incredible! I had a pain killer and a witch doctor, both were delicious! Drinks run about $13 but it's not outrageous given the effort that goes into creating them and the amount of alcohol. Two drinks had me pretty buzzed. I'd highly recommend this place.

The whole ambience is amazing! We, thankfully, came early so there was plenty of seating. The bartender was super nice and made fantastic recommendations and adjustments based on our tastes. Would love to come back!

This space is great. Lots of space with many private booths. There is a upstairs with a bar as well and great drinks and a piano. There decor is something to be amazed at. Hands down the best tiki bar in the tenderloin.

J

The drinks were outstanding! And, it being a slow week night, I had plenty of time to chat up the bartender, and appreciate the ingredients and know-how that went into the recipes. Some interior designer must have made their bones on the decor and lighting design... photos can't really do it justice. The vibe was elegant, relaxing, and welcoming. You should check it out!

This is one of the most interesting speakeasy in SF. If you manage to find it, go inside and you will be immediately transported to voodoo land. Fortunately in SF, the zombies are out on the street of SF and not in this little secret gem of SF.

Added to my favorites after a Wednesday night out with some friends at the city. The Zombie Village was a perfect choice for us. There is a long dazzling bar with plenty of seats as you enter. And there are little cabana style seats that run across the side of the place. There is also a second floor bar that opens when busy. The drinks were delicious and the ambiance was awesome. An fyi, rsvp on busy nights.

Zombie Village is such a fun hangout spot—perfect for both date nights and chill evenings with friends. The drinks are not only delicious but also super pretty (definitely Insta-worthy). The whole vibe gives off serious HBO White Lotus energy—moody, tropical, and just the right amount of mysterious. 100% recommend if you’re in the mood for something unique and atmospheric.

Drinks were strong but also good, reserve your spot or meet someone there it doesnt matter you're gonna enjoy the whole drink menu, personally I tried The Jamaican Zombie and the Cacao pandan both great options

This is my favorite tiki bar in San Francisco! The service is always incredible. The bartenders always make sure there is no pineapple cross contamination in my drinks. As someone who is severely allergic to pineapple and strawberries, the care they put into my drinks is very appreciated. I’m always able to find seating at one of the booths or at the bar. They also have fun seasonal drinks!

J

The Zombie Village was a highlight of our recent trip to San Francisco. The atmosphere inside was electric, with tons of folks and a high energy. We were able to snag a tucked away booth and enjoyed our strong, delicious drinks in relative privacy. Service throughout was helpful and congenial, and we had an overall top notch experience. Highly recommend!

Amazing hidden gem in zombie land! Great service and even better drinks. This is one of the few great tiki bars in the city. Absolutely recommend this place if you want to space if you want to scape the chaos of the city and enjoy some good rum! Definitely don't leave without trying The Big One!

Walking into this place feels like getting transported to a tropical island. The drinks are absolutely on point and will knock you off your feet. If you're lucky grab a little tiki hut booth where you can chat with friends.

I like this spot, as I have been here multiple times since its opening. If you're doing a San Francisco tiki bar crawl, this one should definitely be on the list! It's very unassuming from the outside, as it's located within the tenderloin district. Upon entry, you are catapulted to a tropical hideaway on some remote island. The staff here is very friendly and they make sure your visit is a pleasant one. Drinks are tasty as a mixologists philosophy to cocktail preparation is used. Fresh juices, syrups, and ingredients are prepared in-house daily, which adds to the taste of the cocktails. There are two levels to the location, perhaps ask to see the second level, if it's not open, it's worth a peak. It's a good-sized space, but it does fill up coming into the weekend, so consider making reservations. This spot is cocktails only, so make sure you plan solid sustenance accordingly. Both tiki enthusiasts and the non-tiki enthusiasts will enjoy this spot! Definitely stop in and enjoy a beverage on some remote tropical island within the Tenderloin of San Francisco. You'll discover yourself wanting a return visit.

Zombie Village is such a fun tiki bar and the effort out into the interior is well beyond my expectations. Not only was the decor great, but the extra effects out in like the bubble tanks and smoke machines really gave it a cool Caribbean pirate vibe. The drinks were really fun and pretty, but might not be as consistent with the bartenders - two of our friends ordered the pandan drink but one came with way too much ice that they couldn’t really mix in the popsicle which we all thought was cute but the experience was not as easy to work with. It tasted great though! Seating may be harder to come by for larger parties so you have to be patient. I loved that they had a small second floor but a really large group swarmed up and the majority of the seats were taken pretty quickly. I’d love to grab one of the little tiki hut dugouts next time!

07/2023 Ordered a nui nui which is great if you want something on the lighter side of alcohol taste. Would recommend ridesharing to get here or walk over during daylight as the neighborhood is rough. Ambiance inside is very nice, it will take some time for your eyes to adjust to the lighting. Great tiki-themed accents from the lighting, projection map of tropical islands, and decor. Group also ordered a Village Punch, Jamaican Zombie, Sparkle & Froth, and Chief Lapu-Lapu. 09/2023 Ordered a Bird of Paradise. This drink has Mezcal, Cachaca, Lemon, Passionfruit, Vanilla passionfruit whip, and lihing mui (dried Chinese plum). This was a very fun drink encompassing pleasant fruity notes. The lihing mui shavings on the whip was a great topper on the drink, elevating the appeal and creativity.

It's one of the best bars in San Francisco. The atmosphere is incredible, the bartenders are some of the best in the city with some of the most delicious tiki drinks possible. Comparible to Smugglers Cove. The atmosphere is fantastic, the entire wall is projection mapped with psychedelic visuals and a light piped ceiling to simulate stars. There are tons of props to change the atmosphere. The drinks are again, very delicious. Definitely go here with some friends, you won't regret it. Make sure to look for Echo, she is a fantastic bartender!

Zombie Village is one of the well-known Tiki bars in San Francisco. The vibe is so out of this world and enjoyable. They really went the extra mile with details here. Drinks fall just short of Smuggler's Cove's level, but are still pretty respectable. (Same owners as Pagan Idol!)

More rum drinks than I would personally prefer but honestly I should know better when going to a tiki bar lol Cool decor and good vibes I liked the lower volume level for a more intimate/catch-up kind of cocktail time I still think about the curry flavored cocktail I got. Would go back and would recommend

Amazing decoration, gives the feeling to be in a bar on a hidden treasure island where normally the pirates of the carribean might be around - in the middle of SF. Cool drinks in very special vessels such as large musssels, worrh to join and have a drink you most likely did not have before.

W
William Archer

I have traveled the country going to over 15 tiki bars, and a tiki convention in San Diego and Zombie village has easily some of the most fun decor I've ever seen. However, when I went during their soft open I will say that the drinks mostly did not stand up to what I was expecting. We got a Mai Tai and two drinks of their own creation and only the Mai Tai struck the right tiki balance. Still, they get high marks because I imagine once they are fully open and their bartenders get these drinks down that the whole experience will improve even more. Come for the decor but stay for only one drink until the have the kinks worked out.

I liked the Polynesian style of this bar. I also like the private booth areas behind the bar when you walk in. It's cool if you're on a date & want to grab a drink and talk in privacy.

Establishment is marked by a palm tree 🌴 name not on building. Very nice courteous legally compliant welcome. When we arrived it was quiet only 3/4 other parties enjoying libations. We could take a seat wherever was not marked ‘reserved’ and there were a lot of reserved seating! I believe Saturday night would get busy. Upstairs was blocked off as it was booked for a private affair. We all orders 1-2 drinks. A large majority of the cocktails are made with ‘Jamaican rum’ or other Caribbean rums so if you’re not a rum drinker you have to request alternative drink offerings. I had the Jamaican zombie and it was delicious! And personally not too spicy. We all enjoyed the aesthetics of the place though when we first entered it smelt a little old. Music was annoyingly too slow like a Hawaiian hula for slow Sundays. Not what you would expect for a drink establishment on a Saturday evening. Would love to be here when it’s lively

Went here for drinks on Friday night. Although the neighborhood is colorful and a bit dodgy, the bar itself is very cool. The interior has a unique Tiki bar setting, and the cocktails are delicious. Staff is friendly and attentive. My old drawback is the amount of crushed ice they use in their drinks. It seems excessive for the amount of alcohol you pay for.

If you’re looking for strong well made tiki drinks after a long work week, this is the place. My friend and I came in on a random weekday so it wasn’t busy at all. The bartender was great and attentive. The atmosphere was like stepping outside of San Francisco and being transported into an island for an hour or 2. My friend and I got really into tiki bars and this was one of our favorites.

Drinks are pretty good. Loved the passion whip on top of Bird of Paradise. If you can get a private nook, that's really fun, but otherwise it's kind weird sitting in the bar area when no one else is sitting or standing there, had that experience a couple times on weekend nights

Literally reminds me of Spooky Island from Scooby-Doo… like the colors and vibes match. But definitely a tropical themed spot. This place is interesting. Drinks are pretty solid with bowl options. What appears to look like aquariums are actually just water tanks with bubbles. Lowkey a fun fever dream spot.

Friendly staff and decent (large!) drinks. Enclosed booths provide a nice bit of privacy for conversation, and not too crowded on a Saturday night. Slightly kitschy decor but hey, it's a tiki bar, and overall the vibe was chill.

They only have 2 people preparing drinks at the main bar a Friday night😳. Those guys were like hella octopus tying to serve customers. Long waiting anyway despite their effort. The drinks weren’t good. The worst tiki in Sanfran so far. The place looks great. Nice deco.

Zombie village is unfortunately exactly that outside its doors. If you make it past the sidewalks with human feces and urine, the tiki ambiance is nice inside. Very welcoming door man but the bartenders just stood and stared at me while I was waiting to order and did not take my order for a while even though they weren’t busy. The drinks were good but nothing I would want to risk going back to that area for.

The person working the front door was extremely rude and dismissive, which completely turned our group away. We felt unwelcome. DO NOT RECOMMEND!
