Came here twice during our visit. Loved everything we ordered! The banh mi was supper crispy outside and soft inside. They didn’t have much vegetarian options on the menu but we were able to order tofu with stir fried noodles and vegetables (off menu). Staff were accommodating and friendly. Only complaint is the music can suddenly become annoying loud.
Buon Me Cafe in SJC offers a modern twist on Vietnamese street food with standout dishes like their assorted selections of bánh mì and coffee flavors. The vibe here feels authentic with the traditional decor. Their coffee is a must-try! The service was good as the server kept coming by to fill my water. This is a great spot for anyone who maybe craving Vietnamese food in a casual setting. P.S. lots of parking :)
We only ordered bún đậu mắm tôm. We got the biggest portion, which I think was meant for four people, but it was a lot of food, and it came out to around $80 or a little more, so not bad at all. The food was quite good too; it's above average. I would come back to try more dishes if I get the chance.
Great food and excellent customer service. I forgot to pick up my to-go order and live quite far away, but the cashier was incredibly kind and helpful in assisting me with a refund. The food quality is always good, and the service made the experience even better.
The food was fresh and staffs were so friendly. Very authentic Viet food. This restaurant was the first spot of my CA trip and did not disappoint!!! Highly recommend the bun thit nuong and nem cua be. They also have a good variety of traditional drinks that you can try. I think i got the Pandan drink and it was delicious
The restaurant teleports you to Vietnam, and it feels like you are back in the country at one of the luxurious restaurants over there. The food was very good. The bun cha was tasty and came with a lot of food. It was enough to share with two people. I wish it came with more pork meatballs, but it was still filling. The banh mi chao was a bit oily and I think it was because of the ribeye. I thought it would’ve been ribeye chunks, but it was slices. I would recommend get the bo luc lac instead. The bot chien was my favorite. Simple dish with a great soy sauce. Overall, Buon Me Cafe is a fun place to visit. The decoration is cool. For tet, they bring out all the decorations and make it fun to take pictures. They have an outside patio where they will play sport games. Service was also good. They were friendly and accommodating.
Really enjoyed this spot for breakfast. The coffee is good, the breakfast is tasty, and the decor is cozy and welcoming. I tried the porridge and egg coffee today and enjoyed both!
Nice staff and clean I ordered a set of coffee and it is so nice and tasty. This is exactly what I’m looking for the authentic Vietnamese coffee
Good variety of authentic Vietnamese foods. Banh mi has great texture, not too hard and crisp on the outside. Lots of interesting drinks to try. The pandan fresh milk was very good. Trendy Vietnamese ambiance with lots of nostalgia.
Good variety of Vietnamese dishes, not just pho. The combination egg rolls were good, some shrimp, some sausage. The Hanoi style noodle with grilled pork was good, wrapping the pork and cold noodles in a lettuce leaf with a dipping sauce. The beef with chow mein was also good. The papaya salad with beef jerky was the only disappointment, not having much flavor. The place is too noisy to hear the people at your own table.

Went to Buon Me Cafe in Vietnam Town with friends over the weekend — such a fun and unique experience! The decor and staff uniforms really give you that Southeast Asian vibe. Highly recommend No.35 DIY spring rolls — super fresh and fun to make. No.4 crispy chicken cartilage was flavorful and crunchy. No.47 macaroni pork soup was a creative fusion and tasted great, light and not greasy. No.24 sizzling steak with bread was also delicious. Their sandwiches are very affordable with super crispy bread. Drinks were fun too — the coconut juice had longan and jelly, and the egg coffee was tasty. Overall, a special and memorable spot worth trying!

Cute and cozy restaurant. Any corner is an Insta-worthy spot. The staff were attentive and friendly, and they tried their best to our request. The food was all delicious, as were as the drinks. We were a party of 4.5, so we got to ordered many dishes. So far, the food that we ordered was all tasty. Ordered food: Xoi Man, Banh Mi Chao, Chao, Mi Cay, Bot Chien Trung, Sup Nui. Ordered drinks: Kem Bo Da Lat, Tra Dao Cam Sa, Ca Phe Khoai Mon Tim.
Really cute atmosphere and styled similar to traditional Vietnamese buildings. The food is very good and leans a bit sweet in the seasoning. Drinks were just okay. I got a matcha and my friends got the egg coffee and mung bean coffee. I think their appetizers are over priced. Very busy place and the employees gave us the wrong order and then missed an item. But they were able to sort it out very quickly.
Very busy restaurant at the grand century mall. First timer here. Interesting interior. It is like you are in Vietnam. They even have the table with stool like street food in Vietnam. We waited about 20 min. There are plenty choices on the menu. We order quick bites mixed rice paper, 4 grilled sample roll, crab roll, buon me egg noodle, and Bun cha hanoi. For drink we ordered peach calamansi and lemongrass, kamquat and salted plum. The food was ready pretty quickly. You can watch them make the mixed rice paper. Overall all the food are good except the 4 grilled roll sampler which for me it is average. I like
I like the ambiance when I walked in, feels like you’re walking to a Vietnamese restaurant in Vietnam. The food was good, the ideas are there but need a better execution. Lacks some flavor. I would come back to try different foods and the drinks are good! I like the variety of drinks and the ambiance is nice for a new & hip Vietnamese restaurant in town.
Arrived 9:30am on a Monday (but holiday). Plenty of free parking. Atmosphere was very good, very homey and comfy Service was not the best, because of the structure of the layout, the customers aren't as easily visible. Good but could be better Food was wonderful, ordered: Sizzling Pot: Egg, Pork Roll, Meatball, Sausage, Pate & Filet Mignon Shaken Beef w/ Baguette Filet Mignon Shaken Beef w/ Rice Fried Rice Flour Cake Grilled Pork Sausage Rolls Avocado & Coconut Smoothie

I didn't order their specialty, which is the steak bánh mì. I was there twice, ordering phở the first time and bánh mì muối ớt (an appetizer) the second time. Both were decent. Nothing special. Their other specialties were the different types of coffee. I liked the Cà phê Bến Tre (coffee with coconut milk) but not the Cà phê Đà Lạt (coffee with avocado cream). I like the fact that they are open early in the morning.
A friend recommended this place. We ordered fried yams with shrimp and grilled steak. We got the yams, nice and crispy. We waited awhile perhaps 15-20 minutes until we finally asked where the rest of our order was. They didn't put it in our order. We paid for what we got and went elsewhere for the rest of our meal. The decor is fun with Vietnamese nostalgia, music is very loud, perhaps that is the reason we didn't get the rest of our order. Service is rushed, they were not that busy mid-afternoon on a Sunday.
Got some mixed feelings about the place. First thing I don't know if because we came here on a holiday so the servers are kinda overwhelmed by the quantity of the customer; it was hard to get their attention unless when they clean the table or bring foods to you. They are all seem gathering in the front together rather than some corner of the restaurant. However they are still trying to please you when you have any demand. Foods were kinda 50 50 for me. The first disappointment was the crispy calamari. It was very soggy and oily, all the frying powder is separated from the calamari. The Hu Tieu (Dry noodles) is delicious but I just wish they put less sauce in there. It almost like too sweet because too much sauce. The rest of the foods are OK. Overall this place is still a great place to hang out and try some delightful foods. But if they want to stand out and reach to the top, there will be more place for improvement.
We ordered the #25 Bánh Mi Cho Bò Ribeye Xao and #30 Bánh MI Bo Kho. Bánh Mi Cho Bò Ribeye Xao (3.75/5) The dish is served on a sizzling cast iron, with a side of salad and a baguette. The ribeye were sliced thin, stir fried and cooked to a medium rare. Which finished cooking from the residual heat. The meat was very tender and well marinated slightly sweet but not overpowering. It had a nice variety of meat, the taste is all balance, but nothing stood out. The sauce was a bit oily but had a nice mellow flavor. It’s a standard dish can’t go wrong with ordering. Bánh MI Bo Kho (2.5/5) The meat was very tender. But I was not a fan of the soup, it was too much on the sweet side instead of savory for me. It has a good amount of star anise flavor, not too strong. Tho, the sweetness needs to be reduce to create a more balance dish.
Vietnamese foods are scrutinously prepared and so scrumptious they are. Service is pretty good due to a busy atmosphere with short of staff. Actually I recommend this restaurant for meeting with friends and family.

Came home from a 12 hr shift, starving. Its 730 pm, came in for nem nuong and bot chien. Store was nowhere near crowded, maybe 50% full. Staffs were well staffed with at least 3 people taking orders and 2 or 3 additional table cleaners and servers. Took nearly an hour for 2 rolls to come out (nem nuong) but it tasted good, so that was fine whatever. Bot chien took nearly an hour to come out maybe 45 minutes. Bot chien was so sad. I've had this place many many times before. I knew their quality was amazing each time. This time bot chien was rushed, soggy, and even almost cold. How are you gonna make a near cold bot chien to serve while taking almost an hour. Sent it back and left. Wasted too much of my time. Don't know If I want to gamble coming back. Servers were very nice though and place has nice decor. But inconsistent food? If I wanted to make bad bot chien I would have cooked it myself and costing $5 at home.
I usually don’t write reviews, even when I’m disappointed, but I felt I needed to voice my experience this time. From the moment we walked in, it was horrible. Our host wasn’t welcoming at all and didn’t even greet us with a smile—but I let that slide. Since it was our first time there and there were six of us, it took us a minute to go over the menu. I had actually chosen this place because I saw it on TikTok and wanted to try it out. Unfortunately, our server messed up our order twice and didn’t seem attentive at all. She looked like she didn’t even want to be there. The service was terrible, and the food was mediocre at best. To make things worse, they automatically added a party gratuity of nearly $30 when our bill was under $200. They never informed us beforehand, and typically party gratuity applies to groups of eight or more—not six. If that’s their policy, it should at least be noted on the menu or somewhere visible. The only thing we found somewhat decent was the calamari. Everything else we ordered was just okay at best. Overall, definitely not worth the hype.
