I wish I could give Locanda Ischia more than five stars, based on the 40th birthday party my husband recently organized there, and from start to finish, the experience was nothing short of perfection. From the moment we walked in, guests were struck by the beautiful, inviting ambiance. It felt both upscale and incredibly cozy—the perfect vibe for a milestone celebration with close friends and family. There was a welcome prosecco station for guests upon arrival, which was a perfect start to the party. To say the food was "delicious" would be an understatement. Every dish felt authentic, fresh, and prepared with so much care. Our guests are still raving about how amazing the food was. We opted not to do a seated lunch since there were 50 people, and requested to do lunch in the form of heavy, heavy apps and small plates. There was so much to choose from, and it was so easy to work with Shannon on both the food and drink menus. This is where Locanda Ischia truly shines. Shannon and the rest of the Locanda staff went above and beyond to make sure every detail was handled. They were attentive without being intrusive, and were so helpful in the moment, to even move the standing tables to create space for dancing. A huge thank you to Shannon and the team for being so accommodating with our group! If you are looking for a place to host a special event (or even just a romantic dinner), look no further than Locanda Ischia. My 40th birthday party was one I’ll never forget, and I owe so much of that to Locanda Ischia, Shannon, the team, and the entire vibe they created to make it so incredibly special. We will definitely be back!
We had such a great experience at this beautiful new restaurant! From the moment we walked in, we were impressed by the ambiance and thoughtful decor, everything feels warm, inviting, and stylish. The entire team was amazing, you could genuinely tell everyone enjoys working there. From the friendly hostess to the attentive servers and bartender, the energy was great. We were warmly welcomed by Lisa, and received excellent service from Roy, who was super knowledgeable about the menu and offered great suggestions, as you can see we ordered a lot. Alberto, the bartender, also stood out with his friendly vibe and attention to detail. We found easy parking in the back, and even though the restaurant has only been open for a month, it was already bustling! Thankfully we had a reservation.
My first time, at this restaurant. The food was really good. I had the lasagna, and my wife had the fettuccine, and we shared a caesar salad. The service was excellent they constantly refilled our water, and made sure and check to see if we need anything else. I was impressed. I highly recommend it.
The decor, the music they play, the staff, five stars! It makes you feel like you’re right near the Amalfi coast. I got the cacio de Pepe, the salad. The homemade limoncello is such a great note to end with. The panna cotta is super milky and creamy. Solid neighborhood restaurant. Would love to be back!!!!
I stopped by for dinner with my partner a few nights ago and everything was delicious. The atmosphere was great thanks to our server Shannon. She recommended that I pair the Brunello with the carbonara and it did not disappoint. Overall a great experience, and this place is now one of our favorites. We can’t wait for our next visit. Highly recommend Locanda Ischia!
Five stars for the food and atmosphere….the service was off quite a bit, but I blame the fact they just opened, and will give them some grace. We have really enjoyed the location in Campbell and was excited to see them open in Willow Glen….especially since we frequented Vin Santo over the years. I hope they improve their service in the next month or so as they get through the weeds of opening a new restaurant, and I intend to revisit again hoping for a new experience that is basic at best….and I hope Davide picks up some better techniques to offer drinks, take dessert orders, and even a better initial welcome….I love tipping big, but couldn’t tonight. Maybe next time.
Outstanding service and food. I had eggplant Parmesan and it was outstanding. The lemon cello was delightful. Service- amazing!!
First time in, this place was incredible. Very cute interior, cozy and welcoming, yet spacious. We ordered the focaccina which was so fresh, soft and flavorful. We also ordered the special of the night, cacio e pepe served table side, which was absolutely incredible. Lastly we ordered the lasagna, which had the most balanced sauce I've ever had paired with the most tender lasagna noodles I've ever had.
Highly Recommend!! We have been here a few times and decided that I needed to do a review. Once you walk in you are greeting like you are part of the family. (Reminds me of my BIG Italian Family ❤️) We ordered some fantastic wine. My husband the Chianti and me some Rose Bubbles. Both were great. Our two waitresses Sabrina who worked in the bar and Shannon were both VERY attentive and anticipated our needs perfectly. We started with some Focaccina that was seasoned with Rosemary & sea salt and came with an AMAZING "secret sauce" that has notes of basil, olive oil, and other herbs. So so good. I ordered the special a Saffron Linguini (picture included) it had fresh made egg pasta, Saffron, squash blossom, crispy pork cheeks and a potato puree sauce of sorts. Simply delicious. My husband had the Branzino. Which was cooked perfectly. It was light and flaky. It was just the filet topped with broccolini and served on top of roasted potatoes and diced carrots. Had a light lemon flavor, my guess is due to some lemon olive oil. For dessert I had the lemon sorbet which was served in a lemon. So refreshing! We also had another lemon dessert which was a special as well but was so light and airy! Did not disappoint! Something I didnt eat this time, but is a MUST try is the Wrong Scarpariello. Fresh pasta with a calabrian chili for a light bite combined with a fresh sauce made from yellow and red cherry tomatoes and topped with burrata and basil. Looking forward to the next visit!

We visited their another location- Sorrento in Campbell. Awesome people- awesome food and great atmosphere. So we came here on a Christmas eve. Very warm welcome- true festive atmosphere. We loved everything just like Sorrento location. I understand that it was Christmas eve but rushing us out at the end was perfectly professional. Just a kind note. Other than that, we want to visit all the locations in Bay Area. Very Merry Christmas to all the staff.
Sat at the bar, which had a friendly welcoming atmosphere. They have a good selection of quality Italian wines, a bit young, but since it is a newly opened restaurant that is expected. Very drinkable. Sampled the carbonara. Really excellent. Pasta was firm and tasty. Pork cheeks were a nice addition. All in all a very pleasant time.
What a fabulous restaurant! My Italian grandmother loved the food and enjoyed speaking Italian with our waiter. Food was amazing and the service was even better! Antonio was such a delight and treated us like family. We will be back!
Our server Shanti made this a memorable experience. I am Italian and live in Panama City, Florida. When I came to San Jose for work my friend said i had to try this restaurant. So grateful for the recommendation. And if you do come, you may want to ask for this delightful and full of energy server named “Shanti.” Better than Chianti :-)
Really great food, service, and very attentive staff. Antonio was our server and he was great. The entire meal was great. The panacotta at the end was one of the best I’ve had.
Came in for dinner and had a really solid experience. Service was friendly and attentive, and the food was good. I ordered the scarpariello and really enjoyed it, well cooked and full of flavor without being too heavy. Overall a comfortable spot with good Italian food. Would come back.

Had a lovely time at Locanda Ischia last week. They recently opened up and the vibe is amazing. Really feels like Italy. The owner of the restaurant was working at the restaurant as well and making sure that every guest enjoyed their diner and evening. If you can’t choose what you want from the menu, I definitely recommend the Gnocchi with class of red wine, I enjoyed the Primitivo with it. Would definitely visit again soon. Great job all!
I had a birthday dinner there. The food was good. Lasagna was not as meaty and cheesey as I would have liked heavy on the tomato sauce, but eatable. They gave us the birthday dessert for free which was a nice touch. The atmosphere felt lively like an Italian restaurant should. For some reason we had to wait what felt like a long time for the $5 focaccia bread. But all was great in the end.
Pretty solid Italian. The service was fantastic.

On the plus side, our food was delicious. On the negative side, we felt rushed to order and were limited to a one and a half hour time frame to occupy the table. We were a party of four, and right when we sat down, the pressure was on to order. So, we ordered a bottle of wine and a couple of beers, and asked to wait a few minutes to enjoy our drinks before ordering our meal. Our waiter, who was very nice, but persistent came to our table several times over 15 minutes to ask if we were ready to order. Once we ordered, the food came promptly and we began eating. The staff was efficient and quick to clean the table of each individual persons plate when they finished. (would prefere not removing plates while others are still eating) After dinner we ordered dessert drinks and Gelato. This is where we felt unwelcome; we were not finished with our dessert when the hostess informed us that there were people waiting for our table and we needed to finish up. We all finished up and left without saying anything, but agreed to not eat there again. It was a very uncomfortable end to an otherwise good evening with friends.
I was very excited about going got dinner as we visited multiple times one of their other restaurants- locanda Amalfi specifically. Unfortunately the food was not what expected at all and I am very sad to say so. The starters were okeysh but nothing amazing especially for their prices. However, the huge disappointment we had was with their pizza. It’s not even barely closer to the one that they serve in the other restaurant, which is even better than lots of places in Italy. It was not much different than a frozen one that you can find at a grocery shop for half of the price. Again, we went in knowing that they are truly Italian ( at least in Pleasanton) and the food is notch quality.. and unfortunately I am not so sure anymore.
Do not order the bland panna cotta. It was rubbery and flavorless. The only thing memorable about this dinner was the Rojo Spritzer ...the gigantic sprig of rosemary was unnecessary and added nothing to the taste of the drink lol.

I had tried this franchise in Campbell and it was solid if not amazing. A solid B. As they opened a location closer to us, we thought we would try. We made a reservation. They had trouble finding it. Maybe had a hard time hearing, the 2/3rds full place was very loud. We got water than sat for 20 minutes, no drink order, no checkin if we were ready to order. Ignored. I mentioned it to the staff member passing. More time passed. It was so unpleasantly loud, we could not imagine coping through an overly lengthy meal with indifferent service. We left. Better options in WG.
