Opinions de The Caravan Lounge San Jose
Best "dive bar" in San Jose. Rachel keeps that place running like a well oiled machine with great music and always friendly and inviting. You are sure to run into some of the MOST AWESOME heads in San Jo so go check 'em out!
Love the mic of country music and metal and punk and rock that is always playing at this place. The live bands are fun and who doesn't love a small af venue lol I love the occasion ska show the most! I know ska is fading out but it's my favorite!
Best bar in san jose, hands down. Safe and friendly atmosphere, great music, no covers. An old haunt of mine and now I always stop by when I'm in town :)
I just celebrated my 21st birthday here last night, and oh my gosh, everyone was so sweet, especially the kind bartender with the beautiful braided hair, the people that come here are friendly and respectful and the security is fantastic. The bartender makes AMAZING, AMAZINGGGG drinks and was really helpful guiding me through my first time at a bar. Then we sung Karaoke, Im so happy me and my best friend came here, best night ever!
Best downtown San Jose dive bar! Music some nights. So it can get loud. Although seeing a unique upcoming band is worth it
Live local bands. The food is alcohol. What could be better.
Great vibes, and people. Amazing staff. The Caravan has definitely been a staple in San Jose for years. There's even a comedy night there. Been there a few times and gained some great memories from it. Even caught up with an old high school friend. Definitely recommend
It's a great old school bar! Jukebox, pool table, and live music! The bathrooms are surprisingly clean for those of you that are a bit germaphobic but love a good old dive bar!
Classic punk rock dive bar in San Jose. No frills, plenty of fun. They have great live music, karaoke and a pool table for times when nothing else is going on. A great hangout.
This is an awesome place with an awesome crowd. Punk Rock bar that has live shows and no cover. Be careful with the pushing and shoving though ('No Moshing' is posted above the bar); they will tell you something if you are starting to get out of hand, but it's not done rudely, it's done for safety. Come check it out. Judgement free zone and safe place to hang for all
Great dive! The owner is lovely!
Love the vibe of this place, its my favorite dive bar in San Jose and one of my favorite music venues. It's dark, it's punk, it's cheap, it's everybody just doing them. They have good, free, live music playing at an absurd volume most nights of the week. One of my go-to places when I have nothing else to do on a week night.
Very, very cool bar with live music. Cash only and a super friendly owner. One of the best bearded bartenders in the business on some nights. People are super regulars that can make the evening a little off-putting, but good people overall. Looking forward to another visit.
Genuinely cool bartenders, not that annoying fake friendliness. Free punk, rock or metal shows multiple days a week. And reasonable, even cheap, prices. As a flight attendant who seeks out dive bars around the country, I'm happy to say that one of my favorites in the entire USA is in my hometown!
My favorite place in San Jose!
Love this place!! Cool bands. Nice environment with very chill people. Bartenders are cool and beers are not too expensive. They also have my Newcastle here unlike other bars
One of the best dive bars in SJ. awesome staff very friendly. Interesting and colorful mix of patrons ( including myself 🤣). It's definitely worth a trip to check out.
One of the regulars is a man named Uncle David. A sage. Words of wisdom. Don't stop thinking about tomorrow, yesterday is gone. I showed him a picture of her, I asked, " Is she yesterday or tomorrow?" He said tomorrow. And I almost forgot, he said, ",Patience is a virtue."
Definitely come here to catch the night's vibe... It has live music once in a while and you can catch some really talented up and coming Bay Area bands... I got a chance to go watch a band Hella Doubtful and it was awesome...🤩
Nice People. EU Europe,France, Germany, North Pacific CA, South America, Mexico West India, Africa,
Great place. I am from Florida, was wondering from my hotel and walked into this place. So welcoming. Bar owner bought me a drink walking in to welcome me! Go here!
Love this venue for the cool vibes and the awesome shows they host! Check out Circus of Sin and other events on their calendar. Drinks are well priced and stiff. Vibe is a punk dive bar with stickers in the bathroom and kitch on the walls and ceilings. Pool table is available when a show isn't going on. Love this place!

As someone from freaking Kansas I've never had a chance to experience a proper punky dive bar. Cheap Pabst, free music, great people. When I return this will be a place I stop. The people were drunk but friendly and the owner as well as the bartenders kept things moving. I'd pay 10 dollars just to enter a place like this in Wichita, it wouldn't have live music and the drinks would be twice as expensive. Amazing why we have no night life here.

Great small bar, with pool table, friendly staff. Played rock and county most of the night. Reasonably priced.
Always had good music and a welcoming crowd. Good service and a fun time. :)
Love to go to relax very friendly atmosphere you can play pool play your music have fun they have bands that go and play their karaoke respectable atmosphere.
Good music, people, pool table and very cool bartender
Sooo It's been a while....10-15 years ago when I lived in San Jose I would come here. They had random live bands then which is always good because I love music. The crowd was very diverse with Older Frequent patrons down to College Goers.. and always some newcomers. Don't remember if food was served then but no worries, I absolutely loved coming here. Good music selection, Friendly Bartenders no matter what time you arrived and Great Drinks... I will be coming home in a couple of weeks and was looking for Things to do in San Jose on the weekend and "The Caravan" was at the top of the list. Well I know where I will be going on my visit Home.
The service here was consistently attentive, even with a lively crowd enjoying the bands, which really made for a smooth experience. The staff did a great job managing the flow, ensuring everyone was taken care of without feeling rushed. It's clear they prioritize customer satisfaction, making it a solid choice for a night out!

Good neighborhood downtown bar, although the music system can be very loud. They don't serve food. Friendly local crowd and friendly service.
Good local place, strong pours on drinks. Mostly a rock club with live local music/bands, but they do other things sometimes.
The Caravan Lounge has been around for a long time. A chill dive dive bar haha. You only go there for the shows or comedy night or to just get away from everyone. It's a place that has all the basics to a bar nothing fancy. A good place to kinda hide downtown honestly. Good staff, good times, good memories there.
Great and Cool place to hang out with friends, so relaxing. It is not a big space but fair enough to have drinks, for sure. Come to visit it and you will like it. 👍
The staff may come off as rude; however, I think it is because of the punk culture, not necessarily who they are. The live music is okay. CASH ONLY.

Cool locals bar, close to Halloween so costumes were great. Was a great time, will return!!
I love it! It's a great scene, but i'm always worried about crowds especially since there's only two exits and one is the band entry way and the rest is just the general entrance. Place is always happening when you want a live venue with music and honestly the crowd is rather tame. Overall it's just crowded and small, but one of my favorite places to end up in at the middle of the night.
They scan IDs which I'm not a fan of. Also the bartender didn't tell me they hiked the prices of beers at 10 I would've ordered one before then.
Caravan is a quintessential dive bar. If you are okay with that it's a decent enough place. They have pretty good local metal shows, cheap beer, and the kind of crowd you'd expect from a metal bar. It's a pretty small place, but didn't feel crowded, even on a Saturday night. The bar staff was friendly and they have a ridiculous selection of booze behind the bar. That being said, it's definitely more of a champagne of beers than a champagne of champagne sort of place.
A cool venue but if you order a drink it’ll taste like someone else’s drink and if you watch them wash out the cups you’ll understand they aren’t cleaned just dipped into a sink already full of water.
It's ok. Loud music and good proved drinks. Service was good. The crowd was ok. Lots of yelling outside.

THEY WONT LET YOU IN IF YOURE FOREIGN. bin coming here for years but recently got a new bouncer that wont let anyone with a consular ID in. also dirty and smells like pee 🤷♀️
Rudest staff ever. Bouncer repeatedly banged on bathroom door. Total invasion of privacy and unprofessional. Was just taking a piss. Y’all suck 😁.
Very disappointed with my experience. I visited last night to support some local bands and friends who were performing. The drinks were mediocre—I ordered a Long Island and a tequila lime soda, both of which were made incorrectly and tasted watered down. After the performances, a few friends and I stepped outside for some air. There were multiple groups gathered outside, not just ours. At one point, we noticed another group—whom we did not know—taking Jell-O shots. While my group was simply standing in a circle talking, a bouncer suddenly approached us, yelling and accusing us of taking Jell-O shots. He told us we were being disrespectful to the bar and that we were no longer allowed back inside. I explained that none of us had taken any Jell-O shots and even showed him to prove it. He responded that he didn’t care and reiterated that we were banned from re-entering. You’re seriously going to kick out a group of 20 people who came to support your venue and brought in significant business—for something we didn’t even do? That’s absolutely unprofessional. Businesses should remember that their customers are the reason they stay open. This situation was incredibly frustrating because we were doing nothing wrong—just standing outside and following the rules. Overall: I do not recommend this place. The drinks are overpriced and watered down (especially for a dive bar), and the staff is rude and unprofessional. I won’t be spending my money here again.
This use to be my favorite spot, this place has seriously downgraded. The cherry on top was that now bouncers can’t even tell a real ID from a fake, smh do better
I can’t believe how poorly they treat their customers and performers. From the moment I walked in to set up for the show, the staff were snippy with my band, friends, and family. They ended up kicking out nearly all of us because someone had a drink outside, and they took it personally—even going as far as banging on the bathroom door to kick out a friend simply for being associated with us. It’s a shame they cleared out almost the entire bar before the closer could perform. This is no way to treat local musicians or their supporters. Sadly, this was our first live performance—and it will definitely be our last at this venue.
the staff here is so weird i was hitting my vape and the security came up to me so aggressively and told me if i kept hitting my vape he was going to kick me out but there was another guy hitting his vape and the security saw him and didn’t say anything to him i ended up leaving because i felt disrespected
Used to be a good bar ((BUT)) ever since they’ve got that one bouncer/ID Checker, short dark haired guy, it’s not even worth going. This guy acts like he’s the San Jose police, and treats you like your obliterated drunk, even if you’ve only had soda to drink. Doesn’t matter, I’m telling you this place is not even worth going after that Sad excuse for a bouncer got hired. It’s not our fault that You only make a certain amount a year or you don’t have a good life, but you don’t have to take it out on everyone else, we’re here to have a normal time, not deal with a gaslighting control freak.
