Good food and service overall, just wish the Mediterranean bowl had a bit more shortrib. Hummus / bread paired with it was great.

My sisters and I went to here while visiting San Luis Obispo. Best decision we ever made. The staff was amazing. I wish I could’ve gotten the name of our waitress because of how friendly and amazing she was. The food was even more amazing. We fell in love with each bite. The tacos were so good too and wish I could’ve had a couple more. We sat next to a window that overlooked the creek there which just added to the amazing ambiance. Overall it was an amazing experience. Thank you to the staff for making our little stop amazing.

As always, outstanding food and outstanding service. This is our must stop in San Luis Obispo. You will not be disappointed. The food. And the wine. And the lovely staff!!!

The first and only time i have been here...damn, amazing. We went in for taco Tuesday and I will forever hold this place in my heart. We got the big platter and devoured it happily. This place knows how to put some great tasting tacos together. The restaurant looks great outside and in. The people were very friendly and with plenty of smiles and recommendations to go around. The taco Tuesday prices were insanely low. When in the area next time around, I know exactly where to eat. Luna Red...amazing job.

The ambiance is cozy and romantic, staff is courteous, service is fast, food is good, drinks will get u drunk. Need I say more? Went here for Valentine's day, it was packed. Highly recommend the bacon wrapped dates.

Great small plates to share or eat solo. The outdoor area is perfect with a great atmosphere. Service was really good, and the food was tasty. They have special menus throughout the week, and wine Wednesdays is half of bottled wine from the "wines by the glass" list. Location is convenient - right next to the San Luis Obispo mission in the middle of downtown. Definitely a must when in SLO

Great place to eat! The staff is friendly and professional. Get there early because it does get busy around meal time. The paella is the best. The wife and I share this dish ( big enough for 2 or 3 people). We had it with a sangria it paired up nicely in my opinion.

The paella is astoundingly good. Was enough for 3 people.

We enjoyed the service and food. We were looking forward to enjoying a Spanish paella. We ordered the Valencia Paella (seafood) and several appetizers, including bacon-wrapped dates, ricotta & berries, and spicy grilled shrimp. All dishes were well-prepared and promptly served. The outdoor atmosphere was lovely and it allowed for the enjoyment of temperate climate. Thank you for the experience.

Sitting outside in Jan, comfortable outdoor sitting. They do have heaters and umbrellas if needed. The waiter was very nice. My dietary restrictions are gluten/dairy free and not spicy, they have met this need several times with no complaints! The real question is does my food taste good, yes it does...very good! My other half has no restrictions and he likes the food too!! Bonus: multiple mimosas options too 😀

What a phenomenal experience. The decor, the ambiance, the staff, the drinks, and of course, the food. We ordered the mixed paella and it was simply amazing. I am a self-proclaimed food critic and I give it two thumbs up.

Came here on a Monday at around 7 and we got seated super quickly! - Tuna Ceviche (4.5/5): I quite enjoyed this, but my parents mentioned that it was a little too sour for their liking. The chips that came with it were very nice - Tortilla Soup (4.5/5): This was quite good! Was definitely glad we got the ceviche so we could put in some crunchier chips in it - Del Mar (Seafood) Paella (4.5/5): This was super well seasoned and a surprising amount of food! We got it with the squid ink, which definitely went well with the seafood - Crema Catalana (4.5/5): This reminded me of the creme part of creme brulee. The fruit on this was so sweet that even the sweetness of the cream didn't make them taste sour! The only complaint I have is that the container it came in made it a little difficult to get all the cream

We just loved the food can not quit talking about it the warm goat cheese and pesto with sourdough bread was to die for.... so want to know how to make it because we live so far away....

This is one of my most favorite places to come and have drinks and tapas. Tuesday is the best day because it is TACO Tuesday! Came in with a friend who has never visited. Samuel was our waiter/ bartender. We so enjoyed Samuel with his great service and his love, like ours, of Game of Thrones!!! We ordered the Sangria and their bacon wrapped, chorizo stuffed dates! The dates are the smallest amount of greasy, due to the chorizo. The bacon is nice and crispy. The date is perfectly sweet. This appetizer is always on point. I wish I could eat all 5! Then we ordered TACOS, of course! The brisket, shrimp, and pollo verde. All of them were delicious! Always a great time here! Will return!

Very good restaurant here in SLO! It seems to be really popular, and with good reason! Make sure you make a reservation if you're going during their peak hours. We arrived right when they opened, and by the time we were done, the place was pretty full. Very nice breakfast with a super interesting menu- each dish feels pretty unique, and I'm definitely going to try to come back here. Great job!

It was a wonderful experience. The food was excellent though I found the mango gazpacho a little too so wet for my tastes. However the waitress brought me milk to cool it down. My husbands salad was enormous. He didn’t need that bowl of soup. The best was the bacon wrapped dates stuffed with chorizo appetizer. I shoujd have just ordered those and a glass of sangria.

Awesome food and great view. The chimichurri marinated steaks and baked brussels sprout can't be better. Right next to the Old Mission giving you a perfect view and vibe outdoor.

D

Wonderful food. They also had a very good selection of gluten-free foods. The tuna ceviche was stellar and the strawberry burrata arugula salad was super yummy! The rose sangria tasted so good you could forget it had alcohol in it. They had quite a few choices of different eggs Benedict, the atmosphere was very friendly, and the service was on point.

Great restaurant in downtown San luis obispo. Right next to the Mission church. Verde Mary drink is a must. Tacos are top notch and the Wagyu burger was amazing. Great outdoor seating. Service is great. Very nice place for dates or just a meal and some drinks.

Excellent experience! Food and service were great. Street taco variety was awesome and the del mar paella was unbelievable! We did family style with the Brie/ sourdough app, chips/salsa and ceviche. Location is great for parking and walking around town. Highly recommend!

Awesome food. We've now been back a second time, and thought it was time to update the review. We had a great time. I liked the text earlier asking if we wanted to be inside or out, abd then we were running a little late abd they said no problem when we called to let them know. Table was ready when we got there. The server was great, cocktail roulette ended up with some of the best drinks we had ever had. And of course the food was excellent.

A

A wonderful leisurely lunch. Service was just right, attentive but not hurried. Started meal with the Market Meze and some bacon wrapper dates which are amazing! Two of us had the generous and fresh halibut ceviche. Other members of party had different bowls off the lunch menu. All very good. Ended meal with a trio of desserts that were all fresh and flavorful: Vegan Coconut Chocolate Pie, Dark Chocolate Torte with raspberry coulis, and Crema Catalana with fresh berries

B

Great food for great vibes. The food might be on the pricy side but for the quality and atmosphere it is well worth it. Would recommend for brunch or happy hour and dinner. Lots of seating indoors or outdoors and lots of good drinks as well. Definitely get the bacon wrapped dates and paella. Parking is tight in the area but just park at the slo parking structures. Staff is friendly and very helpful

Best time to come to Luna is for taco Tuesday! Any other day I would say it's overpriced but the TT is a great value. Chicken, pork, beef, fish and vegan/veggie options are available. Their margaritas are also excellent!

5 STARS....! We are SLO County locals. Popped in for a Monday evening dinner of street tacos & a margarita. Food was excellent! Drink perfect. Service VERY good. Sat outside under a heater and took in the views of the San Luis Mission de Tolosa. 69 bucks for two meals & two drinks. We will coming back!

Although this restaurant doesn't need another great review, I felt it necessary to leave it! My family and I were on a road trip and when we stopped in San Luis Obispo we were told by the chamber of commerce that there was a public bathroom right next to Luna Red. We walked over there with our three kids hoping to find a bathroom so that they could be a little more comfortable on our road trip. As they wandered around locking their legs together hoping not to make a mess Luna Red came to the rescue. The absolutely charming and welcoming Renee spotted us from a mile away and invited us in to use the facilities before the restaurant was even open! When we are back in town you'll surely have our business just for going out of your way for that! Thank you so much.

My only regret is not having more time to spend in the area to try more of their dishes. The entire menu is quite unique, with obvious top quality ingredients.

Wonderful customer service! I visited Luna Red two times during my short weekend stay at SLO (Morro Bay). First time the waiter saw that I wanted to try the paella but could not possibly finish it by myself, so he offered the lunch option at the lunch time cutoff. The second time manager and staff kindly let me store my luggage while I walked around town before I left. Food & drink are awesome as well - I recommend the paella (would hope to try the squid ink rice next time!)

This was my favorite restaurant in SLO! My friends and I were visiting for a short weekend trip and had a list of local places to try. This was #1 on our list (recommended by a friend) and so glad that we took advantage of going to Luna not just once, but twice during our short stay. We did a dinner at the beginning of our trip and a final brunch before heading to the train station at the end of our trip. First and foremost, it is queer owned. We love supporting local queer business. Second, the food was delightful. The paella was amazing. Large portions that could easily feed 3-4 people. For brunch, I had the bacon benedict and it was perfection. Cocktails were on point. The staff on both of our visits were spectacular. The outside patio is gorgeous. Right on the creek and next to the historic Mission Plaza. It was giving a mix between Spanish villa and Palm Springs vibes (which I love!). It is also centrally located in the heart of downtown SLO, so it was so convenient to have an amazing meal with even better vibes and then hop on over to all that downtown SLO has to offer (bars, shops, etc.). I WILL be going back on our next visit (and you should too!).

C
Christine Kimball

The patio was beautiful!! I loved the beautiful surrounding gardens:) Our server Jaden was attentive and super friendly!! The host was great too!! I am grateful for such a special afternoon with delicious food! Oh and my husband loved the grilled chicken sandwich! He said the chicken and homemade roll was delicious!

Absolutely recommend dining outside. Come earlier in the evening to enjoy the setting sun. Staff warm and welcoming. Very attentive to your comfort. They make a point to treat the customer as a special guest. Open with the exquisite bacon wrapped dates. Ceviche is fresh and bright and escabeche vegetables are well suited as a palate balance following the worth the wait paella. Thank you for a delightful experience.

My go-to happy hour spot in SLO! I love their drinks & appetizers. The chips and queso are addicting! Also recommend Luna Red for brunch and dinner.

Limited menu. Geared towards tapas and drinks. Once you navigate the menu, you’ll have a deliciously good meal. The pesto chèvre is my favorite. Outdoor dining is fun, located beside the park which hosts all sorts of fun events. Friendly service makes it a wonderful experience.

Read about this place in almost all blogs and suggestions before visiting SLO, and the place lived up to its expectations. The ambience was cozy and warm, perfect for a date night. We tried Empandas and Taco. The cauliflower taco specials are truly unique, and bursting with flavors. Loved the beet tortilla too.

So much to love about this place! We had our wedding (ceremony and reception) here and wow the team and venue blew us away!! We had always loved dining at Luna when we visited SLO for the amazing tacos and delicious cocktails but the way the staff stepped up for our wedding was outstanding. They accommodated several late, special requests and at every point Alysia (our event coordinator) was an absolute joy to work with. Prompt clear communication and again, so accommodating! The outdoor dining area is a beautiful setting on any night but was a dream for our wedding night! Don't miss a chance to experience Luna Red if you're in town and think about having your next big event there too!!

Overall it was good. They just forgot to give me the napkins and forks the napkin was dirty too. If you’re looking for parking go to the parking garage it’s free during the holidays. Other than that very minor issues nothing to stress over & the food tasted good.

C

Trust me, do yourself a favor and dine here. My husband and I came with our dog, sat outside on the lovely patio and it was an exceptional experience. We came around 3 which is when Happy Hour starts (surprisingly early). We ordered a couple of their specialty cocktails (Hooked on a Feeling and Chiquilla Te Quiero) and were happy with our choices. For food we just wanted some small bites so we ordered the chicken thighs on the Happy Hour menu and the adobo ribs. Food came out hot and so perfectly cooked. The chicken was crispy and the ribs tender with the slightest hint of char, both very flavorful. We finished with one more round of drinks (Hooked on a Feeling and Once Upon A Time In Mexico). The ambiance on the patio was lovely but inside is also worth a look. I’d happily eat inside or out. Service was excellent, Katelin made us feel so welcome and taken care of.

We arrived there late at night so there was no wait. We were seated outside. Looked at the expansive menu, we decided to share small plates, halibut ceviche, fish tacos and Brussels sprouts. Since we were hungry, I neglected to take photos. The presentation was nice, and everything tasted good. The Brussels sprouts were on a stewy side (not crispy.) There was a plenty of street parking within a few blocks.

L
Luigel Andujar

Loved it here! We got the chicken and sausage Paella. Probably one of the best ones I’ve ever had I’ve had. The saffron on the rice made it so tasty. Big portion for sure feeds 2-4 people. The atmosphere is lovely outside. Will come back

The food was outstanding especially the paella and kaula pork tacos. We had reservations for a party of six and were seated on time. Waitress was there quickly taking our drink then food orders. After the food was service we didn't see much of our waitress, probably busy with other table. Overall I can't wait to go back and try some other dishes.

My husband and I came to Luna Red for Valentine's day brunch, we wanted to try their Beignets, they were delicious. We also ordered eggs benedict and toast with salmon and avocado, they were very tasty. Excellent Bloody Mary and coffee too. Highly recommend their brunch. Service was superb!

I guess the best way I could explain it would be latin mexican inspire. It was our first time in the food was very good. The atmosphere was great service was excellent. I'm still not sure what we had but I know it was good. Had a nice bottle of wine to go with. It was an enjoyable evening. Great as always. Its been awhile since I have been to SLO, but we always stop by Luna Red. This time for dinner and drinks to celebrate a dear friend's Birthday. Food is still amazing- dont sleep on the dates and order 2! Skip the cheese, they are so delicious on their own. Ceviche and of course paella. The chicken one is a crowd pleaser, I personally love the seafood one- some in our group didnt care for it, because of squid ink rice so keep that in mind. My cocktail was well balanced and 😋 See you next time

Absolutely amazing! Great little spot right by the Mission and near all the downtown shops. The outdoor seating is super cute but we sat inside because it was a bit chilly. Food was amazing, I loved all the street tacos. The goat cheese and toast was also a stand out. Drinks were great. The service was just spectacular, our server, Ali, made us feel like we were the only guests. Highly recommend for a date night or an evening out with friends.

Excellent dining experience! Extra ⭐️ for the service. We (3) tried them out for late lunch, which turned out to be an early dinner.😁 The place was almost full, so got a high-seating table inside, which we really liked. We ordered the Del Mar Paella right away before placing order for other items— freshly made Paella takes some time to cook. We ordered their Tuna Ceviche and Gambas Al Ajillo (shrimp) per server’s recommendation. Both small plate items were absolutely delicious. Special mention for their homemade taco chips. One of us tried their Paper Plane cocktail, and liked it. Paella arrived just as we were finishing the small plates. We had opted for the saffron rice instead of squid ink rice. The Paella was one of the best we have tried out across many places. Portion size and amount of meat was generous. It was good as a late nite snack even without reheating.😊 Nice place to revisit during our next trip to SLO,

UPDATE Oct 20 '25: Management did respond to my initial review (below). I reached out to them, and they seemed truly concerned to figure out what went wrong on that day, at that time, which I appreciate, hence the update. They encouraged me to give them another try. We stopped by the next time we were in town and had a nice meal. Service was prompt upon seating, and checked on us appropriately. Food was delicious (marinated olives, escabeche, sardines toast, salmon tacos, margarita flight). Original Review (Sept. '25): We made a reservation for brunch. Got seated, and waited 10 mins for service. Nobody came to our table. Between the 2 waitresses we could see working, they walked by our table 7 times without an acknowledgement. Didn't say "we'll be right with you" or anything. They weren't busy, but I guess they didn't want our business.

Paella!! That is why we went and why we love it! It's got that awesome crunchiness at the bottom, wonderful spices, and a really excellent location and service. I would recommend this to anyone who would drive a couple hours for a great paella!

I must start by saying our server Katie was outstanding. I have been in customer service since I was 12 and have worked as a waitress, at an elite and high end clothing store and a nurse for 42 years in total and feel I know a lot about what excellent customer service should be (and I rarely see it in the world today). Katie exemplified it. She has a wonderful way of talking to customers and executing. That she reassured me if the (seafood) paella was too salty (as two reviews said) they would "make it right" was all I needed to hear to order it. And it was the best paella I have ever had. I am a first generation American who comes from a long line of amazing Italian cooks and a very good cook myself so I think I am a good one to judge. Thank you so much. We will be back!

Service was lovely, and the ambiance of the restaurant was so beautiful. We sat outside and it was a but chilly but thankfully, there were heat lamps. I had a party of 5 and we ordered 2 of the paellas. It fed all of us just perfectly, not too salty, good portions and flavor was great 😊.

Luna Red is one of the restaurants that has earned my respect. It is a restaurant that contributes to society and the community. During the pandemic, it unified other businesses to overcome difficult situations. After the Hawaii wildfires, it launched a donation campaign. It helped LA wildfire victims through a fundraiser. When the city wanted to increase the parking fees, this restaurant secured the best deals for residents in SLO. I recommend the paella dish. Friends who have been to Spain all praised it highly. We highly recommend Taco Tuesday. We especially like the fish tacos. Each taco has a large piece of fresh fish and fresh-grown vegetables. They are very tasty. There a weekly special deals that are also very good. If you are craving a good chocolate dessert then we endorse the chocolate mousse. It is a beautifully presented cake with rich and deep-flavored chocolate. The bottom has a moist and tender crumb texture that gives it an elegant texture. Overall, Luna Red is an outstanding restaurant with great quality food. The server team is very attentive and knowledgeable. Last, I want to give a special thanks to this amazing restaurant that helped the community with your kindness and generosity without hesitation. This is a wonderful and valuable asset to the community and the residents in SLO.

No time to visit Spain? No problem! Just stop by Luna Red for some tapas and Sangria or maybe some delicious seafood paella! The service there is exceptional and you’ll be greeted with a smile! The bar is ready to mix you any magical cocktail you can dream of and enjoy while you enjoy the creek view below from either indoor view or outside on their expansive patio. Located next to the SLO mission and nestled into the heart of the downtown shopping area, it’s a must for your lunch or dinner dining experience! And, it’s important to note: I’m HIGHLY GLUTEN INTOLERANT and they were more than happy, willing, and able to not only meet but EXCEED any/all of my dietary requirements/needs!! 😍

We visited Luna Red and tried the paella, burrata with strawberries, and lemon cheesecake. Everything was absolutely delicious – the paella was full of flavour, the burrata with strawberries was fresh and unique, and the lemon cheesecake was the perfect light and refreshing dessert to finish the meal. The service was also outstanding. The staff were friendly, attentive, and made us feel very welcome from the moment we walked in. Overall, it was a wonderful dining experience, and we will definitely come back next time we’re in the area.

I always enjoy myself here. Awesome outdoor patio with plenty of umbrellas and tables. Definitely wheelchair friendly and the chairs can be removed from the tables. The food is very tasty. This time we had appetizers and cocktails. Six Bacon wrapped dates and four ribs were yummy, paired with beer and a margarita. Perfect snack for two! They have inside dining and a full menu. And cool outside because it's near the creek breeze. Check it out!

We took a quick trip down to San Luis Obispo to check out the new location my daughter will be living while going to Cal Poly. Her last apartment wasn’t a good fit. So we ventured downtown and stopped at Luna Red for dinner. The outside patio is amazing though we got seated inside and toward the back of the restaurant. I always seem to get seated near the back - perhaps I just look like a trouble maker. Anyway, the food was good and the service was excellent though I can’t remember what I ordered at this point. I will say the place is quite elegant and I’m not typically attracted to restaurants like that. I’m not sure I will be back anytime soon but if you are looking for a nice place for dinner in SLO, this is certainly a good option. Michael Delehanty Compass Real Estate.

Went for lunch, nice service, tasty tacos, cold beer and decent prices. Ceviche and bacon wrapped dates were really good. Parking can be challenging.

Had dinner at Luna Red. Got the Seafood Paella ($62, Dec 2023) as well as Gambas Al Ajillo ($26). The shrimp app was actually pretty spicy. Paella was full of seafood and big portion, though there's no socarrat, and is actually a little soggy. I think most people would prefer this version in America though. Not sure if it was the day I went and they were low on people working, but my family was seated in a table that wasn't clean, there were crumbs all over the chair. We waited a long time for anything, to order, to get food, to pay. I noticed other people were offered the coupon to come back after new years but we were also not offered that at the end of the meal. Perhaps it was because we didn't look like locals or my parents didn't speak fluent English, I couldn't help but notice the side eye.

There is a beautiful outdoor space for dining. I strongly recommend order “Del mar” paella. If you at “taco Tuesday” happy hour, you can order many taco you want.

Attractive looking restaurant with large outdoor seating area. A cold evening so chose to sit inside. Food is tapas-inspired, so either small plates or large dishes to share. The chicken and chorizo paella was good; the two soft-boiled eggs on top were a little unusual but actually complemented the dish. Good choice of wine and friendly service.

Bread and butter were light. Tortiall soup with fish was also very light and flavorful. Vegetarian paella was OK. Broccolini was a bit clunky on top of the other vegetables. Bartender whipped up a good watermelon margarita which was off-menu.

Cute place to grab dinner (with a reservation) for outdoor dining. Doubly so if you have a small group and plan to order their paellas. We ordered the tortilla soup and the BBQ oysters - both tasty starters! For the main, we enjoyed the Del Mar paella. This plate could easily serve 3 people, and maybe stretch for 4. It's a bit pricey for what you get but overall it's a fine place to catch up with friends around some delicious foods.

Seafood paella with saffron rice was very good but it wasn't especially warm. For $62 I had higher expectations. Good selection of smoky mezcal and tequila drinks and great service made for an enjoyable experience. We were also able to be seated quickly while other restaurants in the area had a 45 minute wait.

Hot up Luna's for some brunch on a Sunday. The location next to the mission is spectacular if you sit outside. Also there with a guitar singing some pretty cool laid-back songs on Sunday. Took my daughter and she loved her food. I love my food as well they had a huge drink selection. I got the breakfast nachos with don't sound very good if you're thinking about traditional nachos . But these breakfast nachos were spectacular. I think they're called taquillas but don't quote me on that. the only reason I gave him four stars is because I've been there twice and on one of the days it took them a long time to give us our food with no explanation. beyond that the food is really tasty it's kind of a fancy place. The food is excellent and it's a nice location downtown next to the mission

Great tasting food in a fabulous setting just off the stream and across from San Luis Obispo's mission. Caribbean curry had very nice flavors and the prawns inside of it were perfectly cooked. The tacos look good too, and there's a Taco Tuesday promotion. Service attentiveness was not quite there in order to be awarded a 5 star experience.

Service is exceptional but my paella was not great. The fish tacos was great. Nice place for lunch and dining and excellent service.

Pleasant outdoor seating with nice views of the mission. Good choice for a summer night! Salad and bread oil dip were yummy.

We visited the day before Valentine’s Day and made a reservation online about a week in advance. Prime dinner times around 6:30 to 7:00 p.m. were completely booked out, so the closest option available was 5:45 p.m., which we took. However, during dinner, I noticed a significant number of empty tables throughout the restaurant. It was a bit frustrating because it seemed like later reservations would have been possible given how open the dining room actually was. They had plenty of staff on the floor, so it did not appear to be a staffing limitation. If you are aiming for a specific time, it may be worth calling directly or booking further in advance to see if additional availability exists beyond what is shown online. That aside, the overall experience was solid. The food and drinks were good. The cocktail menu could have been a bit more expansive in terms of unique or house creations, but what they offered was well executed. The appetizer and entrée selections are moderately sized. Not overwhelming, but not sparse either. There is enough variety to find something appealing without the menu feeling cluttered. Our server was excellent. Professional, personable, and quick to build rapport. He anticipated our needs without hovering and made the evening feel smooth and relaxed. Parking is typical for downtown San Luis Obispo. Since it is located near Mission San Luis Obispo de Tolosa, you should expect to park a short walk away and head in on foot. There is no dedicated on site parking, which is standard for the area. This was actually my second visit. The first time, I ordered the paella, and it was outstanding. That said, it easily serves two to three people. If you order it, plan to split it or be ready to take leftovers home. Overall, I would recommend Luna Red and would return again. It delivers a good atmosphere, strong service, and reliably enjoyable food, with just a few logistical quirks to keep in mind.

The patio space is beautiful and cozy, full of people but easy to talk. The service is impeccable and our food arrived really quickly. To our taste, the food itself was not super exciting. We had a vegetarian dinner, shared 2 starters, a main and a salad. Everything was nicely prepared but lacked the “it” factor. The brussels sprouts were great, and the veg + beans stew was really comforting but under delivered on the menu listed ingredients (it was more like a simple veg soup with carrot and celery, rather than a cauliflower, mushroom, kale and soy chorizo stew). The cocktails were wonderful! but quite overpriced. Still, would recommend this place for a nice dinner in Slo.

Food was overall a bit salty and lacked subtlety. Service was okay and the atmosphere was spot on with ample red outdoor seating furniture and outdoor umbrellas.

Food: 3/5 Service: 4/5 Ambiance: 4/5 Overall: Food was pretty standard fare. The extended review... Food: Tuna Ceviche - 3/5 - The fish was fresh. The taste was pretty standard fare. Poached Pear Burrata - 3.5/5 - This dish I liked the most out of all of the ones I had at the restaurant. It was a very nice refreshing salad with a good mixture of textures and balancing flavors. Bacon wrapped Dates - 3.5/5 - A nice complementing of sweet and savory. I mean...it's bacon after all. Paella del mar - 3/5 - A good amount of seafood on the plate. Taste was pretty standard fare. Service: 4/5 - Friendly and attentive service. Ambiance: 4/5 - An ample amount of indoor and outdoor seating.

Came here for lunch with a colleague, the host was very awkward and unfriendly throughout service which was a bit off for my normal experiences. Ordered the burrata salad for $12 very refreshing although wasn't what I expected description didn't seem quite right. Pretty good happy hour, but I remember their tapas menu being much better before. Awesome outdoor seating and bar.

It wasn't quite as terrible as it could have been. We proceeded directly to the indoor bar, which was immediately available. The bartender was swamped with orders. He was pressed for time and had little opportunity to speak with us. The oysters were plain and uncharred, indicating that they had not been barbecued. New Year, New Me cocktails and chiquilla te quero cocktails were served. Note to managers and owners: The women's restroom stalls had broken locks on the doors.

Great service, good for groups. Overpriced for what I tasted, expected more for what we paid. Tried meze, shrimp and tacos. One of the mezes were off. Shrimp was loaded w oil and red pepper, tasted ok. Tacos were fine but could likely get better across the street.

I’m a pretty big foodie and I have a fairly diverse palate for things. I got the halibut ceviche this time around. The ceviche would be good for people by most standards but for me it was a bit salty and lacked some layering of flavors. Veggies were definitely fresh and the ceviche tastes it was made the same day. Halibut tasted like it might’ve been cooked too long in the acid (lime juices). Drinks aren’t bad. Pretty complex for most part. Probably would still come back. Service is solid.

While my server was very good, she appeared stretched too thin and didn’t seem to have adequate support. . The white shrimp appetizer was excellent. The olives side was also flavorful, but they were served without any warning that the bowl was extremely hot. As in just out of the oven hot! When I touched it, I actually burned my fingers. Bread should be served alongside the olives to soak up the excellent olive oil. I had to get out of my seat to ask for bread. And the excellent sourdough side was $2 added to my bill. After burning my fingers, you’d think it would be compd. . Throughout the meal, bussers and other servers did not scan the room or make eye contact, though they had time to chat at their side stations. This resulted in very long wait times and never being approached. For instance, when i recevied my entre i had no fork and had to ask the busser or runner for a fork. The pork shank osso buco was average. The portion was very large, but the flavor lacked the depth and robustness I was expecting. . I was offered a complimentary dessert—the chipotle chocolate cake—which was outstanding. However, when the bill arrived, the dessert had not been removed. I had to get out of my seat again to ask for it to be taken off, as I had been waiting for some time and didn’t want to flag someone down. Beyond that, the noise level in the dining room was quite loud. I was seated at a two-top near a window on the creek side, but the table directly behind me appeared to seat around ten people, with the back of my chair only inches away from other guests. The space felt very cramped. Staff delivering cocktails, clearing plates, and serving food frequently passed within inches of me, at times brushing against my chair while attending to the larger table. Overall, it was not a comfortable dining experience.

We came with high expectations, as this place is almost unanimously recommended in every guide about the town. We ordered the highly praised Spanish seafood saffron rice. However, perhaps due to how it was seasoned, the rice itself was a bit too salty, which overpowered the natural flavors of the seafood and the aroma of the saffron. That said, my friends mentioned that when they had seafood paella in Spain, it was also extremely salty—so it might just be that I’m not used to the traditional Spanish flavor profile. The service here was good, and the tacos were tasty too. It’s just that the seafood rice, which we made a special trip for, ended up being a real letdown.

Was very much looking forward to this experience as it was well recommend. Seating was plentiful and staff welcoming. Once seated our server was prompt to take our order. We order the paella with a sampler platter of tacos. The tacos arrived quickly and we're well displayed, taste and caliber however were average. Being "taco Tuesday" I would assume tacos were being order en-masse by multiple tables thus the quality possibly suffering a bit. Even so the order was still worth the value. Next came the paella which again arrived timely as we were wrapping up the tacos. As proper the paella was served in pan family style as it was cooked. Our tapas plates were still full from the remaining tacos and salsa cups so I had request additional side plates so we could serve the paella. We started tasting small tidbits as we waited. Unfortunately after being checked on a second time by our server our plates never came. Further disappointment in finding that the menu listed "house made chorizo" was just a sliced up summer sausage from the grocery store. Left with the only choice of trying to dig in with our forks into a spinning pan and no real way to cut up the chicken or sausage left an other wise well spiced dish unappetizing.

The food is so trash I had to give it a second terrible review in my first review I forgot to mention that the scallops were raw and undercooked the chicken appetizer we ordered was way overcooked and everything was extremely too salty and it's not that I'm mad about the hundred dollars plus I spent I'm mad that I took my kid there and fed him that food. I wanted to give it to my dog and my wife won't even let me give it to the dog

We had a very disappointing and concerning experience at Luna Red. We ordered the Paella del Mar and were served the Paella del Luna instead. Although the dish was remade, the replacement arrived faster than usual with undercooked fish. Shortly after eating, I developed severe stomach pain and nausea and have been unable to properly digest the food. This raises serious concerns about food safety, and I am hoping it does not result in a visit to urgent care. This experience was especially frustrating given that we have dined here before and previously enjoyed the food. Unfortunately, this visit fell far below expectations and standard food safety practices.
