Friendly place with good people, good food, good coffee, and a good view out over the pueblo. Prices are very reasonable. Has Wi-Fi. Seems like a hub for travelers, as most customers are either euro or gringo. (Myself included, obviously). Lugar amigable con buena gente, buena comida, buen café y una buena vista del pueblo. Los precios son muy razonables. Tiene wifi. Parece un centro para los viajeros, ya que la mayoría de los clientes son europeos o gringos. (Me incluyo, obviamente).

I love the view from this place. I've come here only for the chocolate, both ways with and without milk. The cacao is brought from the coast, from the owner's father own farm.

One of my favourites in San Mateo! I love their Tlayudas, Latte and also the crepes are really nice :) Try the local kombucha as well. The view is really beautiful and the place is very tranquille. The owner is super sweet and welcoming 💖

Stunning view of San Mateo below. Make sure you walk to the back, best spot! I had the Choco Cafe, both of which are from Pluma Hidalgo, where the best coffee in Mexico comes from. The chicken enchiladas in green sauce were delicious too. But that view!!

Café del Rancho is a coffee shop where you can admire a beautiful view from its terrace and enjoy delicious Pluma coffee made with select beans. They also have Oaxacan snacks. Highly recommended for anyone visiting San Mateo Río Hondo!

I highly recommend having breakfast here! We tried the chilaquiles and the enmoladas and they were 10/10! The portions were generous, the chilaquiles sauce was delicious, and the beef jerky was super juicy. We paid $230 for two dishes, two coffees, a Serrano bread with jam and honey, and a Coke. The lady who served us was very friendly, and not to mention the view. We'll be back every time we visit San Mateo :)

11/ 10 This was one of the BEST experiences for Authentic food, a brilliant view and the most unique culinary experience atop a mnt with views that will amazing you !! We loved San Mateo and Alice's food and hot coca was definitely the BEST Enchiladas we have ate in MEXICO SO FAR ... check this place out we just stumbled upon it, as a recommendation and thankfully so :) Thanks to Alice and her family for feeding us and keeping us warm with hot coca :) Kellie and Lisa - The Canadian girls

This café offers the most magical dining experience. The views are incredible, with food to match. We stayed in town for two days, and ate at the café both mornings. Some of the best breakfast food my fiancé and I have ever had, and wonderful friendly service (even though we barely speak a word of Spanish). We can’t wait to return someday!

Really nice food and low prices, very sweet lady owner. We asked for side salad and were mixed the most amazing salad with avocado, carrot and even celery. We had the best omelettes ever!

Wow - the view over San Mateo is incredible! We didn’t order any food, but thoroughly enjoyed our chocolate caliente con leche, which was served in large mugs and minimally sweetened. The interior of the café is very charming and the owner was very hospitable and kind. I wish we had more time in San Mateo so we could return!

Absolutely amazing place. Stylish, very clean interior, with a lovely local lady making and serving the food and drinks of very high quality. And all that very reasonably priced. Apart from that the view over San Mateo Rio Hondo is stunning. One of these places that you want to know when you arrive at a new destination. I highly recommend this hidden gem.

The coffee and hot chocolate were delicious! We ordered a tlayuda and it was definitely one of the most delicious in the place, with all the right toppings and very reasonable prices! If you're on a budget, I highly recommend this place! You'll be satisfied; the food is delicious and affordable!

Físicamente en el local No tienen ningún letrero que diga que los lunes no abren, Y en el Google maps tampoco viene. Fui dos veces el lunes estaba cerrado, Me quede con las ganas de comer ahí y ver la vista 😔
