Very good pie. The place has a really cool surf theme with lots of memoribilia. I had mine gluten free, and it was one of the best ever. Gluten free crusts tend to be kind of awful; not this one. It was thin and crispy. Also, you can get a slice and a t-shirt for only $7.... such a deal!

Great Pizza, Great Staff! I ordered some pizzas for an event I hosted for students at the end of the school year, and they were delicious. Two months later, I realized I somehow lost the receipt, and was worried about paying out of pocket instead of being reimbursed by my school. I thought it was a long shot, but I called and asked the manager Josh if he could help me track down the invoice, and within 5 minutes he was able to find it, and email me a copy. This is the sort of service, not to mention fantastic pizza (especially the Big Sur), that will keep me coming back. Thank you Josh!

They're pizza is always great here and I've never had a problem with their staff. Pro tip: if you visit frequently get a shirt (you get a discount for wearing one) and their pizza card (for a free slice).

Had the best pizza of my life in Santa Cruz (Pizza My Heart) but, the recipe was a bit different here. The ingredients or the way the baked it didn't have the same harmonious effect, however it was still delicious with all the whole garlic slices. Still a fantastic pizza. Definitely recommend the "The Big Sur". The whole garlic slice will change your life.

Love to swing in here for a quick lunch slice or two. Pizza is always very tasty with fresh-tasting toppings. It's very thin crust and not always cooked as long as I like, but that's a minor complaint. Tea, fancy soda-selection machine with lots of options and a fast and friendly staff. Clean place, too! Bathrooms could use some help but that's a minor ding.

Pretty decent "Super Veggie" slice which could have had little more sauce and seasoning maybe. But it had good quality and was filling for the price.

Friends and I came here for our Downtown Pizza Chow Down to check out all the downtown pizza places in San Mateo. This was our last stop and was rated second best. We ordered pizza by the slice. They have some great and off-the-wall options, but I just went with pepperoni. It was super greasy, but that doesn't bother me too much. Overall, good cheese, toppings and crust, just not the best. Our group rated it a 8 overall. It is a good place to get a slice, especially if you're into their less common offerings.

This is a small-ish pizza spot tucked away at the edge of downtown San Mateo. Typical downtown parking options. They have a very good menu, and all of their pizzas are delicious. There is a bit of a wait time if you order a whole pie instead of a slice, but that's because they really are making it from scratch. A bit on the pricey side - you are paying for quality. I got the veggie, and it was loaded with toppings! Looking forward to my next slice.

We like this pizza. It's heavy on the yummy seasonings. Yuuuum. There are interesting combos. We usually get it to go, because the booth tables don't move making the seating uncomfortable. If you like garlic and spices this is a great pizza choice. Oh! Also you can add a salad and there are a few choices.

Handy generally quiet place for a couple of slices and a beer or two. Beers are cheap (by Bay Area standards) - $4 for Lagunitas IPA/Sierra Nevada Pale Ale. Slices are fine too - you can have 2 slices and a soda for ~$10. Staffed by Polynesians (Tongans?) and a rotating cast of others; the staff is invariably friendly. Although there's probably not much difference in reality, I greatly prefer this location to Palo Alto. The pizza is good, nothing to brag about, but if you're looking for a laid back place to have a couple of slices and take your time doing it, this is an excellent option. Thumbs up!

epic customer service as usual at the SM location. clean, fairly priced and appropriately lit. one minor criticism would be portion size (too large, but I'm likely the only person who thinks so). recommend this chain to all pizza lovers, for sure over so-called "gourmet" bistros

Great place if you like thin-sliced pizza and have a group that can not agree on a type of pizza. They sell pizza by the slice or by the pie. Also pre-packaged salads are available if you want a "healthier" option.

My favorite neighborhood pizza spot 😋. For days I don't want to cook nor wait very long to be served. One slice is plenty and a very good price.

Delicious! When hot. Pizza my heart is no good once it has cooled down. Even reheating does little to no justice. If you enjoy leftover pizza for another day, this is not the place.

Wait: the staff is great, friendly, helpful, courteous, responsive, but some recent pizzas have been "not great," such as the "figgy piggy," and even the standard pepperoni (way over cooked, super crunchy, a bit burned. So, still a good go-to standard, and will give it a couple more chances.

I came in with my two kids and ordered 2 cheese slices right off the counter. The pizza was allready made. I asked for the kids cut and the big strong man with long hairput the slices into the oven. We paid and took a seat with our two kids drinks. After 15 minutes, I looked over and the big strong man was eating pizza and noticed our pizza was just sitting there in the counter. The cashier noticed it had been a long time and said, "your pizza will be right out." I was just about two ask if they were making it from scratch... A few minutes later the pizza was cut and brought to our table. Also, didn't like the big strong man eating and then handling our food without washing his hands. Not sure what was going on here since the family ahead of us had a party of 5 and they got their food as they paid. Perhaps it was that they had me pay and sort of asked for a tip should be provided on the front end on a meal that only cost $12 total. Also since the server is only bring out the pizza. I disagree a tip is warranted here for a meal where the server does not refill the drinks or takes additional requests...Anyhow, I won't be going back to Pizza My Heart in San Mateo. Honestly paying 6 bucks for a slice of pizza should be a great pizza. It was a basic pizza slice. Rather would have got 3 pieces from Costco.

If I could rate it lower I would. My wife ordered a pizza at 430 and after an hour she called they said the driver is out should be there soon. 30 mins past we called again the guys blames door dash and says the driver is close by. 30 mins later still no pizza I call back he keeps making excuses and blaming door dash and coorporate saying they had many complaints already.i would think a smart company would stop using door dash if they had many complaints. We are 5 blocks away they could tell us they been having issues and we would pick up. Ended up cancelling after 2 hours of waiting. They still have the audacity to say we'll make a new one in 40 min. Disrespectful and unprofessional service. It's a shame because the pizza is decent enough .wouldn't recommend to anyone at least not this location.

Ordered through the Pizza My Heart website and the delivery guy came late and left the food outside no where near where I lived!!! Horrible service. Wouldn’t recommend ordering through their website!!

Sour employees and paper thin pizza. The pizza and coard board container was filled with oil. I paid $4.75 for a practically an uneditable slice of pesto pizza. You're better off going to Costco and paying $1.99 + tax for a slice pizza.

Now we are all forced to eat only cheese or waste $50 Total waste of time and money. This establishment had absolutely zero interest in fixing their mistake. As an extra bonus the lid to a ranch I paid extra for didn’t have the lid on correctly and it spilled ruining the peppers and Parmesan. The “buffalo” wings were plain with the sauce on the side. Straight garbage. I do not recommend this location whatsoever. Drove 30 minutes to get here. There is much better pizza in the immediate area. Mr Pizza across the street is 🔥
