Opinions de Wursthaus Santa Ana
My go-to for a brew in Santa Ana. Amazing selection of local and regional beers, super friendly and laid-back staff, and a convenient location with a great terrace patio and a few TVs. Happy hour and regularly scheduled beer-focused events seal the deal.
Awesome rooftop patio. Great vibe, everyone seemed to be having a good time. It wasn't uncomfortably crowded but some groups did need to wait a few minutes to get tables, if you don't mind standing with your beer or pulling up a bench with no table, there's really no problem. Or you can wait a few minutes for one to open up. There was indoor seating with large, open patio doors and outdoor seating. There were 20+ taps with lots of tasty choices. I was stoked to get Pliny the Elder on draft! Nice and cold. Very laid back place, staff were around running food and beers to people, grabbing trash and empties. Will definitely return, I'd suggest anyone looking for a nice beer selection to come check this place out!
Don’t freely give 5star great reviews - but my family and I love this rooftop bar and restaurant. They have delicious craft cocktails, 20+ craft beer rotating handles and they brew their own beer, brewery is in DTLA! Try their Mexican lager El dojo or IPA circle boy! They have monthly food specials with pasta, burgers, chicken sandwiches, cheese plates, crab cakes, BLT’s, grilled cheese, and burritos with “pig sauce”! Their kitchen is full of creative items. Their Saturday and Sunday brunch is fire and open around 10am. Attentive staff, friendly and knowledgeable. Bottomless mimosas and brunch cocktails. Friendly chill vibes during the week and lively community on Friday and Saturday evenings. They also have fun events and all you can eat BBQs during the holidays: Labor Day, 4th of July and Memorial Day. Safe, family friendly, and enjoyable. Live music and DJ’s on weekends. Don’t walk, run! Love this bar.
Drinks are top notch! So many beers on tap and the bartenders can make whatever you like! Try the Bloodlust! Smokey, sweet, and STRONG :)
Great restaurant. Great patio. Perfect setting to highlight both the Orange County beer culture and the gentrification of Santa Ana. There is a wide selection of interesting beers on tap. Most are from Southern California. Another interesting feature is the attached BBQ -- famous for its smoked wings. Sweet patio -- with benches that appear to have been made from recycled stadium bleachers -- overlooks the downtown area . It's well-heated for those cold nights. We will return here.
Great vibes on the rooftop and the burger was really good. Limited menu but nothing wrong with that if looking for something simpler. Service was great.
Native Son in DTSA is a great, central rooftop location. There is a great selection of craft brews on tap. The rooftop space is predominately outdoors. It can be nearly standing room only Friday and Saturday nights. They serve a couple of awesome big burgers here. I highly recommend the "Santa Ana Burger". There are a range of vibes at Native Son, depending on the day, time, event, DJ, or band. I most enjoy a beer and burger with a view during off-peak times -- afternoons (especially for sunsets with a full moonrise).
Overlooking the downtown area, this rooftop bar is probably gunna be a favorite spot of mine for happy hours. They have a lot of brewskis to choose from although it's only 1-2 bucks off, happy hour from 4-6 is always a vibe. So come hang out, enjoy the views, order some fries while you're at it. Fries: Get! For $7, they give you A LOT. However, it's loaded with seasoning and salt so... be prepared to order some more beers and stay awhile lol. Parking is over at a nearby structure and after hanging out for a few hours I only had to pay like a dollar so it was 100% worth it. On colder days there's heat lamps outside too so that's nice but you'll still wanna bring a jacket.
I recently had the incredible opportunity to climb Mount Kilimanjaro and go on safari with Native Son Expeditions, and I can confidently say it was one of the most unforgettable experiences of my life. From the very beginning, the team was professional, organized, and incredibly supportive. The Kilimanjaro climb was perfectly managed — the guides were knowledgeable, experienced, and always attentive to our safety and well-being. They constantly checked on our health, encouraged us during the toughest moments, and celebrated every milestone with us. The porters and cook were equally amazing; their hard work, positive energy, and delicious meals on the mountain made all the difference. Reaching the summit was emotional and rewarding, and it wouldn’t have been possible without such a dedicated crew behind us. After the climb, the safari was the perfect way to unwind and continue the adventure. The guides had sharp eyes and impressive knowledge about wildlife and the ecosystems. We saw an incredible variety of animals and learned so much about Tanzania’s natural beauty and culture. Every day was well planned, the accommodations were comfortable, and the entire experience felt seamless and stress-free. What truly sets Native Son Expeditions apart is their genuine hospitality and passion. They made us feel like family rather than just clients. Their commitment to safety, sustainability, and customer satisfaction was evident throughout the journey. I highly recommend Native Son Expeditions to anyone looking to climb Kilimanjaro or experience a Tanzanian safari. They turned a challenging adventure into a life-changing memory, and I’m beyond grateful for their outstanding service . Thank you for everything!
Love this place. The sausages are excellent, with unique and interesting meat options you do not find everywhere. There is also a great bar in the back with a solid selection of German beers on tap, which adds to the experience. The five different mustard options really set it apart and make it extra special .
Like a slice of northern Europe in Santa Ana. Vibe is excellent lighting and seating is comfortable and the food was and beer options were excellent. Selection you probably won't find in many places. Only complaint is they do not offer flights and they absolutely should as most people haven't tried many of their options. Flights are a no brainer and easy way to increase sales for people that want to try different things. Pretzel and brats were excellent and they have various mustards and cheese sauce to dip and try with the food. Fries tasted very fresh
Fairly "authentic" (as authentic it can get in socal) beer hall to stop by for a beer and wurst. Food is ordered in the front and beer in the back. Sometimes food ordering can be slow so maybe grab a beer first then wait in line.
I stopped into The Wursthaus during a quick lunch break from the Santa Ana Courthouse, and I was absolutely blown away! This place is a true gem and the perfect quick escape. The Food: The bratwurst (Wurst) was absolutely fantastic—a perfect, high-quality meal. A major highlight was the pretzel bun, which was soft, fresh, and absolutely perfect. The Drinks: They had a seriously impressive selection of several unique beers on tap from overseas. For beer enthusiasts, this alone makes the Wurst Haus worth the visit. The Service & Atmosphere: The service was fast and efficient (crucial for a lunch break), and the staff was friendly. The atmosphere was welcoming, making for a great dining experience. Location, Location, Location: The location is ideal, especially if you are dealing with business at the courthouse or planning to catch a movie at the Frida Cinema (it's right next door!). Next time I'm down in the area, I will definitely make sure to give myself extra time so I can drop in and enjoy another absolutely fantastic meal and explore more of their tap list. Highly recommended!
Love the various sausage options. Spicy Polish on a pretzel roll with drunken onions is my favorite. Of course, with a side of Belgian fries and your favorite beer. Nice atmosphere.
1. The options for the sausage sampler are great, and each type tasted amazing! The fries and pretzels were also well-made! 2. The spot has fun casual vibes with an open interior in the back! 3. The staff was friendly and timely with my order! They brought the food to us in the back! Photo: Sausage Sampler, Belgian Fries, Pretzel, St Bernardus Kombine, and Chimay
Phenomenal Food and Menu!!! So many different flavors of sausages and they were beyond! Generous selection of toppings and Fries that were to die for. Family-friendly with Street parking, reasonably priced, chill environment, reasonable wait time ( long enough to know that they're making the food fresh but quick enough for folks on the go) They hook it up with all the mustard flavors you can imagine and fresh made dipping sauces as well
Wursthaus – Santa Ana | 5 Stars This place is a hidden gem for fry lovers and sausage aficionados alike! I recently visited Wursthaus in Santa Ana and was blown away by the quality and flavor of everything I ordered. I went with their loaded fries, topped with savory grilled onions and a tangy house sauce that added a rich, creamy kick. The fries were hand-cut, perfectly crisp on the outside, and fluffy inside—clearly made fresh. But the real highlight was the side tray of gourmet toppings: vinegary marinated onions, spicy jalapeños, sautéed mushrooms, sweet caramelized onions, and vibrant grilled peppers. Each one was full of flavor and elevated the fries to something truly special. The presentation was fun and casual, and the portions were generous. It’s the kind of place where you can mix, match, and build your perfect plate. Wursthaus has a great atmosphere with a European beer hall vibe, and the staff was friendly and quick to serve. Whether you’re there for sausages, brews, or epic fries—this spot delivers. Highly recommend stopping by if you’re in downtown Santa Ana!
Most importantly, there’s seating inside! After you place your order at the counter, you’re given a number and then you go inside, where your food will be brought to you. The entrance to the indoor seating area isn’t immediately obvious, so at first I thought there were only tables outside. As for the food, the pork sausages are juicier and more flavorful. I wasn’t a huge fan of the hot dog - it’s a bit inconvenient to eat. They serve it in a baguette - a dense, crusty bread, not the softer kind usually used for sandwiches or hot dogs - with the sausage, onions, and cabbage inside. It tastes good, but it’s really awkward to eat, and there’s just too much bread. If you’re ordering a sausage, definitely go for the Wagyu one - it’s the best here, trust me. Next time, I’m planning to order a plate where everything is served separately - it looks way better. I also wish they had a wider selection of non-alcoholic drinks. The staff here are amazing - just by looking at the photo, they immediately know which dish was ordered. It’s a real pleasure to interact with them.
I originally came here for the vibes.. it feels like you are entering another world with the dark mood light and the seating options - but I stayed for the unique food. They specialize in artisan sausages, pretzels, Belgian fries, and have about 12-15 craft beers available at any given time. They offer exotic sausages which I have indulged in the bison with cheddar and jalapeno and the wagyu option. My usual order are the belgium fries with everything and two sausages - I switch it up. The only 'issue' is the seating can be limited since it is first come first served. The longest I've had to wait is 5-10 minutes and they recently added outdoor seating so dont be discouraged. it can also get pretty loud, it doesnt bother me since I usually yell but if you dont like that it is loud in here. Park in the garage on Spurgeon ave. it is next to Native Sons. Enjoy your sausages (:
If you’re a fan of high-quality German and Belgian beers paired with gourmet sausages, Wursthaus in downtown Santa Ana is a must-visit. This modern beer hall offers an impressive selection of imported and craft brews, making it a paradise for beer enthusiasts. The real star, however, is the food—Wursthaus serves up a wide range of sausages, from traditional bratwurst and kielbasa to more adventurous options like alligator, bison, and duck. Each sausage is grilled to perfection and can be paired with freshly baked buns, a variety of mustards, and tangy sauerkraut for an authentic flavor experience. Beyond the sausages, their Belgian-style fries are a favorite among regulars—crispy on the outside, fluffy inside, and served with a selection of house-made dipping sauces. The atmosphere is lively yet relaxed, ideal for casual dinners, weekend hangouts, or catching up with friends over a cold beer. The staff at Wursthaus is known for being friendly, knowledgeable, and always ready to recommend the perfect beer and sausage combo. Whether you’re a seasoned foodie or just looking to try something new, Wursthaus offers a unique culinary experience that blends tradition with bold flavors. It’s a local gem that’s definitely worth checking out.
happy Hour was 8pm-close! Great beer, as shown was the happy hour beer. Crazy German beer selection. We got the works, 3 sausage sampler, and the loaded fries. So amazing, fresh, grilled to perfection and the fries so perfect. All this food for 55$ including tip. Try the Nuremberg! It’s veal, and almost like a breakfast sausage. The Wagyu is always amazing! The fries have a great sauce with grilled onions! Great German style date night! Oh and the bread is so soft and crispy on the outside. Idk how they do it!
This place is awesome! The food is always amazing, the service is good, and the ambience is super cool. You really can't go wrong ordering, just order more or less what you would normally order ( hot dog wise) but definitely get the drunken onions on top. Also make sure you try all their sauces, we personally like their honey mustard paired with a spicy polish. And do yourself a favor and get the drunken fries with a brat of your choice on top. Thank me later. Their beer selection is excellent as well. Over 20 German beers on tap, definitely get a beer or two!
This place is bomb. They are really similar to Wurstkuche in LA. Large selection of sausages in any type of meat you can think of, including vegan (which are delicious). Their fries are thick and crispy and the dipping sauces are amazing. The atmosphere is also really cool and chill, super fun place to go hang out with friends and grab a bite to eat and a drink at the bar.
I love the sausages. Pretzel is the best I’ve ever had. They were out of exotic meats this time which is a shame. I hate tv in dining area and they have small seating area and the tv was absolutely blaring with football analysis. If sausages weren’t so good that would keep me away forever. Still bothers me.
First time here. It was a bit crowded but we were able to find a table inside. They also have outside seating. I found the spicy polish sausage the perfect amount for me at least but depending on your spicy tolerance it might too spicy for others. The fries were good. I ordered the chipotle aioli on side
They were out of all the flavors I wanted to try. Seriously, like half of their entire selection was out. Even when we adjusted our selections to ones that were available, the server came out to tell us they were out of even more flavors. It was a Sunday afternoon over labor day weekend, but honestly it wasn't busy and there were only 2 or 3 other patrons there so I don't understand how they ran out of so many options. Place was nearly empty. Anyway, we ordered the sampler platter and the big German pretzel. The sampler was good. The big German pretzel was NOT a pretzel, it was more like bread that was baked and salted on top to try and resemble a pretzel. It wasn't bad, but I wanted an actual pretzel so it just wasn't my expectation. There were multiple kids there which ruined the vibe. I don't think kids should be at this brewery, it's dark, there's condiments and utensils and stuff laying out that they can get into and make a mess. Overall just doesn't seem like the type of place to bring kids. I liked all the mustard sauces but they need little dipping cups or something, so we don't have to just put mustard on our serving trays or directly on the food. The beer and alcoholic drinks were very good! I loved the Strawberry one.
It's an adequate place for a quick bite and a drink but nothing more. The wine is stale and food offerings are limited and not delicious. Service was fine though far too familiar with each other, not professional and doing the minimum. You need to take stairs to reach it. They do have an outside rooftop hangout with fire.
