Great, great staff, awesome beer, wonderful tacos and very good kale salad!

I liked this place a lot and this was definitely not my last visit here. I was welcomed very friendly, the food recommendation (torta with extra cheese) was spot on and the beer selection rotates frequently... 👌🏼 Absolutely fun place to up my Untappd stats... 😁

Haven't had food here yet but always a great experience! The on tap drinks are delicious! The staff is always kind, and the place is always clean. They have a rotating selection so there might not be the same thing as the next time you go. That's what keeps this place fresh too! I'll edit once I try the food!

The beer selection is just amazing. Good to see there are still places with a variety of styles on tap and not just a bunch of IPAs. Food is pretty good but not amazing. Beer selection to-go is also great and prices are probably the best I've seen in NorCal. Lupulo is a must every time I visit Santa Cruz.

A nice, casual place downtown to grab a drink or two with friends and family! They always have an interesting selection of beers, which will entertain any palate, and offer several food options. The staff are friendly, and there is seating both indoors and outdoors! As with most places downtown, parking can be tricky, and the place can fill up on a busy night, especially during the weekend, holidays and summer. This is a great stop before dinner, after a walk or before a show at the Catalyst!

Nice beer selection on tsp and to go. Menu was surprisingly awesome! Wish I could have tried more. Black lager and Empanada were bomb. Good vibes, varied music and local west coast post punk vibes all the way!

In a city with several great beer spots, Lupulo stands out as the highlight. Both the taplist and the bottle selection are impeccably curated. Whether you're looking for the juiciest IPAs or the thickest barrel-aged stouts, barleywines or lambics, mead or German lagers, they have them, and they have only the best. Customer service was excellent; I had the chance to chat with Tom who does some of the purchasing and he offered me advice on drafts and bottles to try, all of which ended up being amazing. The space is cool and cozy - on a Friday night there were a fair number of people but at no point did it feel crowded and the line to order always moved rapidly. My only regret is that I had to leave - their bottle selection in particular was a perfect match for my tastes and I would be thrilled to have anything in it. I'll absolutely be back the next time I'm in town.

What an awesome spot-- we ran in to grab a quick drink and were so glad we did! Lots on tap, good atmosphere, friendly staff and a great looking menu. We'll be back to try a full dinner next time!

Best selection of beers in the area, always somthing on draft and in the fridges that you will NOT find anywhere else. Food is solid, highly recommended the empanadas. Great service friendly and helpful they will always get you a enjoyable beer.

If you’re looking for great food, atmosphere, and exceptional customer service, come here! We had some friends visiting and we decided to try this spot out and it delivered! Everyone working there was helpful and happy which creates such a great vibe. If you’re in search of your new favorite beverage, ask Kayla, her recommendation was spot on! She even made me a sample pack of the seltzer I fell in love with since I couldn’t taste all of them that night. If you’re debating trying to Albóndigas, do it, absolutely delicious. We will definitely be back, this place checked all the boxes.

The food here is amazing. The bread alone that comes with the meatballs is 5 stars all on its own. (Apparently the starter is 5 years old and her name is Martha.) I'm not even going to dock a star for having a section of the tap list called "sour, tart, and funky" that only had three saisons and no sours.

I really loved the atmosphere of this place. The food was so tasty and the people there were very cheerful. I felt comfortable there. I saw someone in a wheelchair, so the restaurant is accessible. Also, a big group of hippie bicyclists biked by and it was really fun

Great tap list and a solid food menu. Stopped in here on a Sunday around noon, the tap list had several great options and I ended up with a Hazy IPA (like I do lol) and my wife got a West Coast IPA. Both were good options. In addition, we got the pickle plate and the Hummus. I loved the pickles, super nice with a great variety of vegetables. My wife loved the Hummus and ate literally all of it. Definitely headed back when downtown.

This trip was our third visit and I have to report that thanks to bartender Kayla, they really exceeded our expectations and hit the ball out of the park! Kayla is friendly, accommodating and does a fantastic job of making new faces feel like old friends. She is a wealth of knowledge regarding the massive selection of brews and will take the time to help you make the best decision for your palate. The selection is stellar, the interior is open (including outdoor seating) and well appointed with fun art and decor. We are looking forward to returning soon, checking out more libations and sampling the tempting cuisine. Lupulo is a welcome addition to downtown Santa Cruz and staff like Kayla make us excited to become frequent visitors to this very unique and special spot.

I also ordered a Non-alcoholic beer which was altogether pretty smooth. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable and had a good energy. I would recommend this spot to beach-goers and anyone looking for a nice variety of IPA's, Stouts and Sours as their menu was very extensive. This would be my second visit, I once showed up with my sister a few years ago and it's only gotten better. Cheers!

Amazing beers on tap. The bar tenders were so great about talking through the beers and then recommending one for my taste. The fish tacos were excellent. Lightly battered, nice and crispy, and perfectly tender inside. They were a special. I highly recommend them if they are available. The vibe was relaxed with fun art on the walls. An all around great experience.

Came during Covid. The server was very friendly and as she seated us explained the Covid protocol, which put me at ease. Very clean and safe feeling. Service was great, beer was tasty, and the outdoor seating was roomie and generous. I did have my fingers crossed that the tap list would be more extensive, but I got the feeling that the smaller selection was due to Covid. Our server, Jesse, was super friendly and helpful. My partner was looking for something that was gluten free and he helped find us something from their cooler. Will definitely visit again when in town.

Highly recommend the carnitas tacos, my wife had the carnitas sandwich. Both of us loved our selections especially the pickled veggies that complemented the food nicely. If they were something around $2 or even $2.50 I would probably try at least 3 or 4 and then still buy a full size beer based on the one I liked the most. I believe $3.50 is too high for a taster. I will still go back, and do recommend others try it as well!

Good fish taco:carnitas but lousy service and vegan tacos, we did not touch the tacos’ and the waitress could not do anything about it… They also overcharged us for 4 dishes while we only order 3… Will never be back, although beers were good :(
