oh my gosh i cant overstate my love for this place, food portions were large and the staff were extremely nice while taking our order. besides the slight bleachy smell indoors, the atmosphere was very calming and id 1000% go here again js to eat and talk w some friends.

We stopped by California Sushi for a quick dinner. The dinner was packed. Food came fairly quick. My wife ordered the bento box with beef and I ordered Teriyaki beef plate. The food was ok for the price and we enjoyed it.

Ordered lunch for 2 at work via doordash. Ordered the california bowl and the chicken teriyaki plate. All the food tasted good. The tempura, of course, is not as crispy, but that's due to the delivery. The order was correct with no avocado anywhere in the order, which was perfect!

We have been going to California Sushi & Teriyaki for years! We recently stopped going because the prices got higher and the food portions kept shrinking. I love the steamed veggies but when I would open the container it was half full so we haven't been in months. We decided to give them a try again tonight and we were pleasantly surprised! The size of the rolls were AMAZING and felt like we got the most for the money plus they tasted incredible! The amount of fish on the outside of our rolls was extremely generous. The amount of steamed veggies was adequate and did fill up the container. If you are like us and stopped going because portion size had diminished please give them a try again! They are really trying and we want them to stay around.

Looking for excellent sushi in Santa Maria? This place provides it, with many different dishes and options. Don’t miss them as you drive past on East Main Street! You might be looking for a rather large restaurant matching their reputation. Instead, it’s in an almost unnoticeable, smaller building hiding many wonderful sushi and teriyaki dishes. Service was outstanding, despite the busy dinnertime crowd. There are so many choices, it was difficult to choose. Wound up getting a platter with enough to share. All items were marvelous. Parking is abundant, as there is a large lot just east of the building.

Sooooo good! Their all you can eat is amazing. $25 a person. We got egg rolls, salmon nigiri, and five rolls that were anything but basic, plus sodas all included in the $25. Highly recommend. This is definitely our new sushi spot!

Loved the food, great flavor, I wish they would have better music/vedeo playing on TV. Some vedeos had stuff i would not want kids watching . Some content is not the best. the service was good, and I just wish they came around to check on you.

Food was AMAZING! 10/10 Most specially the rolls and sushi. The sushi bar chefs were very friendly and seems like really fun people. The place was clean and cozy. I really appreciate that. My only concern is that the server (girl with face piercings) didn’t seem to be pleased as we, and other customers walked in. She told us to sit anywhere, got our drinks, took our order and even gave recommendations when I asked her… (props to that). All our food came except for our appetizers, not sure why but that’s fine. She never came back to check in on us if we needed anything or if we got everything we ordered… I tried calling for her attention 3-4 times until she responded… When I was ready to pay my bill, I saw that I was still gonna get charged for the appetizer that she never served us. Although she apologized and fixed it. She didn’t greet nor thanked customers as people walked in and out of the establishment. Maybe train them better to work on taking care of their tables/customers cause that’s one of the most important things to learn when it comes to building rapport for the business and your product, specially in the customer service industry. Other than that, I’d come back again, maybe on the sushi bar next time for a much better experience.

I was looking forward to trying out this restaurant but we had come in at 9:20pm and waited to be acknowledged as we had seen the “please wait to be seated” sign. Nobody came up to us so I made my way towards the sushi bar and a young woman decided she’d make her way towards me. I had asked if they were still serving (they close at 10pm on Friday) and she asked for here or to go. I said for here and she glanced around the place, and limply pointed her finger as to where we could sit. We found a table and waited for our menus that never came to us. Again, I made my way towards the sushi bar and had grabbed some menus from there saying to the server “can I grab these?” She was so annoyed and it was written all over her face. I sat back down feeling less than welcome and knew that it was just not going to be a good experience so we left.

When we arrived, only two tables were occupied. The staff was mediocre, displaying a typical out of touch NPC attitude, as if they were just going through the motions for a paycheck. It took an hour and a half to receive our food for a party of three. To fumble the bag even more with their incompetence, they forgot my niece’s order and struggled to resolve a receipt issue, despite only one other table remaining! The food was bland and lukewarm. As the cherry on this dumpster fire, a staff member hovered over me with the handheld payment scanner, staring me down as I was pressured to tip for overpriced, below subpar food and terrible service. This restaurant used to be a go-to spot in Santa Maria, but it now feels like they no longer care about their customer base and are a hollow shell of its former self. It seems they’re coasting on a tarnished reputation, surviving only because they’re the most convenient sushi option in the area. 0/10...I’d rather drive to AG for overpriced Japanese food than endure a pathetic excuse for a restaurant. California Sushi, you used to be beautiful. Now you’re just a sad Yelp cautionary tale. What happened?

A shitty place They left me standing for 30 minutes in front of the door waiting for a seat when the place was empty there were only two people eating, at the end the woman tells me to take a seat I look for a table and I feel she arrives and throws me the menu, I ask her about the all you can eat and she tells me that they don't do that and then why on the internet they say yes?
