The menu offers a wide selection of vegan pizzas...not the usual red pizzas with vegetables, but vegan ingredients. Lately, I've been ordering the Vegan Scozzese with smoked vegan salmon, accompanied by a lightly smoky beer with a chestnut aftertaste. The very helpful and knowledgeable waiter offers advice on beer selection. Highly recommended.
Pizzeria Pepenero in Sarzana stands out for the quality of its dishes and the careful pairings. I tried the Massese pizza, rich and well-balanced, with a soft and digestible dough, and the Colonnata focaccia, fragrant and enriched with lard, truly delicious. To accompany the dishes, an excellent IPA craft beer, fresh and aromatic, perfectly complemented the dining experience. The restaurant is welcoming and well-kept, with attentive and friendly service. The only small drawback was the room temperature: due to the particularly warm summer evening, it felt a bit warmer. However, nothing that detracted from the enjoyment of the dinner. A recommended stop for those seeking quality pizza, accompanied by authentic ingredients and a good selection of craft beers.
I've rarely eaten such a light and tasty vegan pizza, with unique flavor combinations and excellent dough. Vegan, pet-friendly, courteous, and a beautiful location in the vibrant historic center of Sarzana. My next stop will be the veggie burgers. And the vegan desserts? Unparalleled. ♥️♥️
Beautiful restaurant in a charming pedestrian only part of town. Very nice spot. Staff are friendly and speak English. They have 9 different vegan pizzas on the menu with vegan cheese. 3 different vegan desserts. The pizza and dessert were both great.

First time, wonderful experience, pizza (the pasta) was very good. A fantastic beer menu, we tried 2 different, both very good. A fellow (owner?) was extremely knowledgeable regarding the beers. Highly recommend and will gladly return.
Great place with a couple of vegan options which are clearly labeled. The dough of the pizza was great. We've been here once with no reservation on a weekday and got a place for two with no problem. The vegan pizzas were very tasty and the mousse au chocolate was also really delicious.
Delicious pizza, excellent selection of beers and great hospitality. Definitely recommend dining in Pepenero if you are visiting Sarzana.

exclusive place. at first you might think is just a nice place. Than you will discover the menu for classic pizzas and the vegan menu. When food arrives you understand the quality of the ingredients. At that point you have seen the Beer menu with over 150 choices. Than the wine list makes you understand that the owner that run the business is a somelie....Of course there is always a Lady in the castle Silvia that she will bring you to the seller with a exclusive plate of amazing cheeses you will be able to taste some wines... recently be back
It is really an amazing place. You can choose a variety of Classic Italian Style Pizzas made with high quality ingredients. There is also a wide choice of home made quality Vegan Bistro specialities. They have the best choice of cheese, 170 beers and a detailed wine cellar that the owners welcome you downstairs. The sommelier will address you through a journey of choices to address the most suitable bottle to your taste. The bill is very comfortable not to worry!!! well done be back.

Excellent and wide selection of pizzas, a must-stop if you're passing through the center of Sarzana. This nice place is reminiscent of an English pub. Prices are a little above average but nothing more. It offers good quality beers and classic desserts. In the end, pizza, beer, and coffee will set you back around €24/26. It's one of the few places to have pizza with pears on the menu. Service was adequate but not fast; the day and the number of customers didn't allow for it.

The vegan food was disappointed except the starter. The service was inappropriate and finally prices on the bill not in line with menu.
Complete waste of time and money, horrible customer service, so rude when serving us, DO NOT go here.
How disappointing!!!! There is absolutely nothing good to say about our experience here. I had high expectations for this restaurant after reading the reviews but IT WAS AWFUL!!! Not only was our food served cold but the wine tasted like vinegar (aka cheap and disgusting) - not what you would expect at a traditional Italian restaurant. The staff didn’t make us feel welcome at all and refused to bring us a different plate of food after complaining that our current dish was cold and inedible, making us pay for food we simply couldn’t eat. I will not be retuning here and I recommend you to stay away at all costs!!!!!!! Go somewhere else!!!!!

The food was nice but everything else was terrible. The servers were very rude and left us waiting for ages, the beer was poured terribly and tasted flat, the wine was overpriced. But the primary issue was that the servers were very unpleasant.
