Opinions de Bar Bocce Sausalito
We lucked out and got seated with no wait- with stellar views of the dock. But the place quickly filled up after we arrived! They don’t take reservations- so it’s first come, first serve here! It could’ve easily been one of those overly raved about places, but it’s actually worth all of the hype! Their pizza is drool worthy. The perfect crust ratio, and their house made sauce… OMG! Paired with some cold beer. There you go. We loved it. We walked off our carbs on the docks afterwards for sunset- perfect!
First time to Sausalito and we found this little gem. Food and drinks were amazing and we brought my dog and sat right next to the water/beach. A little pricey but still very good and worth it. Who I presume to be the manager noticed my dog and came over with a bowl of water for him so as a dog owner that's always an A+ in my book. Would highly recommend!
Get your artisan pizza fix here! Fresh food, okay price, lots of seating options including out on the back porch. The menu is creative with something for everyone. The appetizers came quick (and definitely did their job!) Our table was pretty happy with all pizzas we had. My personal favorite was the fig and pear. It was very different and very tasty. Definitely recommend you stop while adventuring in Sausalito!
Wonderful place. Nice views of the bay in Sausalito. Get early as the place gets busy really fast on the weekends. Out door patio with middle fire place. Bocce game overlooking a beach. Nice place to go with friends chat, grab a bite and have some drinks. Pizza are good and so it's the calamari.
The Shishito peppers were amazing ! The shrimp was incredible and surprisingly spicy. The Pear Pizza was "weird good". Could be that pears are not in season, so you don't get that true sweet/ tart combination from the pears and Gorgonzola. That being said, I'm sure any other pizza would be amazing. The crust was awesome! Thin but held its own, and very flavorful. The service was super great, even for us drop-ins, on a Friday at 5. The view wasn't too bad either ;)
We had such a great meal here. Vincent and the staff were super attentive but not annoying. The view was great and the pizzas were delish!
This became our favorite pizza place in SF area. The parking in this area is always a challenge but worthwhile the effort. It is a small restaurant with outdoor setting and it might have long wait times. We ordered three different pizza and each one was so delicious with rich flavors and a soft and chewy crust. The service was also great.
Come early to beat the lunch/dinner crowd and if you want to be seated at the outdoor area facing the water. We didn't mind not getting a table outside so we got a table inside easily. English pea crostini was a little pricey for the quantity (3 pcs of crostini), Savor Spinach Caesar was excellent- lightly dressed salad, just the way it should be!, And really tasty eggplant parmesan. The burrata was a welcome surprise. Service was excellent!
The wait was worth it. Apps: Garlic bread and prawns are out of this world, such amazing flavor in every bite. Would have liked more than 4 prawns especially when sharing though. Pizza: Basic Margherita - good pizza. Basil Chicken Pesto was the favorite at our table, a sucker punch of flavor in your mouth onions added a great balence to it. The Pepperoni... Not ya mama's pepperoni, ingredients were amazing individually but a symphony together in my mouth. Dessert: Bocci Bliss - the creamiest gellato, a nice tart raspberry couli, a nice crunch with the meringue... Twas a nice pallet cleansing dessert. 11/10 would recommend. The extra point goes to the wait staff, friendly and thoughtful people.
This is a beautiful spot in Sausalito! My brother brought my friend and me here during Easter and it was pretty packed. The wait just happened to be 2 hours since it was Easter, so we got the food to go and sat out on the beach area. It made for the perfect weekend brunch/lunch spot in the sun and there was a great vibe. I’d come out here with a group of friends on any day and hang out by the water and have some drinks or food. Food: We all three got pizza and they were all perfectly thin (not too thin) with a fluffy crust. We also had the calamari. The calamari is not fried and comes with couscous. The shishito peppers were also a great choice!
Set this location as your destination in your GPS when you start biking over the Golden Gate Bridge to Sausalito! Enjoy a celebratory mixed drink while enjoying some nice views of the docked boats. A hidden gem about this place is the pizza. The pizza is the best I've had in California. One person could easily eat the whole pie its so light and fluffy. I'll be coming back here everytime I'm in San Francisco.
Bar Bocce delivers a gastronomic delight for Italian cuisine lovers. Their pizza stands out with its classic sourdough crust, giving it an authentic texture, complemented perfectly by the zesty freshness of their homemade sauce. The lasagne? A revelation. It's easily the best I've had in recent memory, with every bite surpassing expectations. Beverage enthusiasts won't be disappointed either. Their craft beer selection is commendable, with the Fog IPA being a particular standout. What adds to the overall experience is the breathtaking view of the bay that this cafe offers. As you savor your meal, the laid-back island tunes set the perfect ambiance, making for an unforgettable dining experience. Cafe Bacca is a must-visit!
On a sunny day it’s hard to beat this waterfront location. This was our second time visiting, our first visit was just OK, but they made a solid comeback. Chicken wings were crispy and spicy, they could’ve been a little more generous with pizza toppings but the crust was fabulous, but the bread pudding was the star by far - worth a trip back for that alone.
Fantastic spot right on the water. Great food, friendly and attentive staff plus a view of the water and Belvedere island. The chicken wings appetizer was tasty and spicy hot. The heirloom tomato pizza was excellent and the warm bread pudding desert was incredible - large enough to split. Can't wait to try more items from the kitchen!
Gem of an eatery. The food was yummy! We had the chicken pesto pizza, the fried cod balls and spicy calamari. But the best part was the outdoor patio with a little beach that our toddler could waddle around while waiting for the food. They do have a free parking lot but a 90 min seating cap.
This restaurant has an amazing view and amazing pizzas! One of the best pizzas I’ve had! Tried their kale pesto and pear pizza, both were delicious. There is ample seating indoors and outdoors. There is no reservation in place and it’s first come first serve. If you want to a seat outdoors with the view, would recommend coming early.
We came here for lunch on our drive around the Golden Gate area and decided to head into Sausalito for pizzas! And this was a great find. The restaurant is on the beach just off Bridgeway and, there are lots of convenient parking places nearby. We ordered two of their pizzas with an assortment of drinks and Shishito peppers as starters! Loved all of the food and the views from the beachfront perch made this an excellent stop here!
Had two pizzas (one tomato and one meatball), spinach caesar salad and the fritters. Everything was delicious as the pizzas were crispy (the tomatoes were very sweet) and the salad was fresh. The portion size for the fritters were a bit small as you get only 3. The pizzas were the best value in my opinion.
What a lovely wonderful little eatery. The food was to die for. We ordered the spicy prawns, garlic bread, warm olives, and a margarita pizza. Which was perfect for us 2. My husband who is very much the foodie fell in love with the pizza. Very simple made, great crust and taste. Everything had a good fresh taste to it. Staff was very nice an welcoming.
Bar Bocce is such a great waterfront spot in Sausalito. We ordered the chicken pesto pizza, salt cod fritters, and the meatballs, and everything was delicious. The food felt fresh and well made, and the setting made the whole experience even better. A perfect place to enjoy good food and soak in the views. Definitely worth a stop.
We waited a couple minutes for our table but they have seating in the front area. Great draft Modello, great fried calamari and the pizza .. wow. Really delicious and fluffy dough with perfect amount of sauce and toppings. The view on to the Bay is the cherry on top, Loved it!
It's on waterfront and it's a must visit place if you like wood-fired sourdough pizza. The dessert was great too. It's the perfect brunch place. Also, a lot of options for vegetarian people
This waterfront gem offers breathtaking views, exceptional service, and a welcoming atmosphere—even for your four-legged friends. The highlight? Their authentic San Francisco sourdough pizza, which lives up to the hype with its perfectly crisp crust and tangy, flavorful bite. Whether you’re a local or just visiting the Bay Area, this spot is a must-visit for an unforgettable dining experience.
Great cheese pizza place with scenic views of the bay and Mount Tam. Fried artichokes, salmon, olives and garlic aoli were quite a treat. Sitting outside in the sun is the best with service fast enough to please the kids. We parked there all day while strolling the docks, visiting the boat friends. It was quite the day. Give them a go.
Absolutely love Bar Bocce! The location is unbeatable—right next to the bay and a ship dock, with stunning waterfront views that make it a perfect hangout spot. We went in December and chose to sit outside, which can get a bit cold, but the overhead heaters help a lot. They also have indoor seating if you prefer to stay warm. There’s a fun area to hang out and play games like the sandbag toss, which adds to the vibe. The food is great with plenty of veg and non-veg options—really enjoyed the pizza and sides—and they have an excellent drink selection too. The servers were super nice and friendly, which made the experience even better. Overall, an awesome place to chill with friends, great atmosphere, and definitely worth it even though it’s on the $$ side.
This local hot spot is backed up to the water with amazing views, plenty of parking, excellent eats and impeccable service. Met my girls here for happy hour and happy we were!! Will be back!
Bar Bocce exceeded all expectations! The cod fritters, eggplant fritters, meatball sliders, and pizza were all absolutely delicious — each dish bursting with flavor and perfectly cooked. The view is fantastic, creating the perfect backdrop for a great meal. Service was phenomenal, attentive, and friendly. Plus, we got seated fairly quickly, which made the experience even better. Can’t wait to come back!
We went to this restaurant and the food was honestly really good. I was very satisfied. The atmosphere was great, and everything from the service to the overall vibe was just right. I’d definitely go back again. The only thing is that it’s a bit far from me, so I might not be able to go as often. If it were closer, I’d probably be there every weekend!
One of our favorite spots in Sausalito! The atmosphere is fantastic, the views are stunning, the staff is warm and welcoming, and the food is simply delicious—what more could you ask for? The fried artichokes and meatballs are must-try appetizers. We always go for the prosciutto pizza and a chicken salad, but this time we also ventured into the egg and potato pizza, and wow—it did not disappoint! If you're in the area, don’t miss out. Highly recommend!
One of the best pizzas I have ever had. The sourdough crust is so fluffy yet crispy. If you love Kale, Garlic and Pesto, the kale pizza is a must try. Their garlic bread was super delicious too. We love around an hour away but I drive out again just to eat here. Btw beautiful view and lots of outdoor seating to enjoy it.
Beautiful restaurant on the water with nice food as well. We got the mushroom pizza and kale pizza, both delicious wood fired style with lots of toppings. Service was a little slow but they were busy and we didn’t mind waiting with the beautiful view. Also strongly recommend the bread pudding for dessert!
Absolutely stellar pizza. Everything about it was spot on. We also had the grilled calamari over couscous and even my girl, who hates couscous, loved it. It was worthy of 5 stars by itself. Even if the view wasn't world-class - and it is - this restaurant is worth a visit. Edit: We loved the pizza so much that we went back a few days later with a small group and got 3 different pizzas. These weren't as good as that first one, but they were still pretty darn good.

The pizzas are pretty good. Slightly expensive but it’s Sausalito so, hey! The margarita pizza was the best amongst all we ordered. Portions not not too big so, can’t really order family style. The Calamari was pretty delicious. It’s usually filled with tourists and the wait is super long. But they have a great outdoor waiting area so waiting is not bad.
Swanky place in Sausalito. We went in there for drinks and desserts. The atmosphere is great and I love the open space at the private beach. The weather was fantastic and we couldn't ask for more. My only feedback was there weren't enough space to sit (although I could see they tried their best). The blueberry bread pudding was out of this world. We were at the beach and got it as a "takeout" package but my god, it was one of the best bread puddings I've ever tasted. Not sure whether they have enough servers or not but pretty much service was missing altogeher. I fetched my own food and drinks. This is definitely a happening place and I'd return to try out their pizzas. I'd just make sure to pick an off-hour because again, way too jam packed even on a regular weekday at 2pm.
Pretty good pizza restaurant in Sausalito. This restaurant is at the tail end of the strip of the city. It's a pretty interesting place and area to go. The restaurant is on the water and has a unique vibe. The pizza was tasty and they had some good beer, wine, and coctail options. I would come back here again if in the area.
Great place for a group gathering, or just for a couple. The kale pizza and salads are definitely the highlight. As is the bread pudding. Beyond that try the lasagna and the meatball dishes. It is lovely to sit in the back, there is a fire pit to keep you warm as you watch the ocean or someone playing bocce. Service is prompt and kind.
Delicious pizza (id go for the prosciutto and the heirloom tomato with burrata). The pitchers of cocktails were a little watered down but the view and atmosphere is awesome! We had to wait for a table but we got to enjoy some time on the beach with a drink and a pizza before we got to the real table!
Bar Bocce is popular from word of mouth. They don't need a big sign to advertise where they are located. It feels like you're in a secluded spot. All the tables face the stunning ocean view. The pizza is their most requested item on the menu. One guy ordered 10 pizzas to go. The only issue I ran into, certain tables are for dinner guests only. We sat at the fire pit, which had an amazing view. The beer was cold and refreshing. It's a great date spot. Enjoy a drink and appetizer, while getting to know each other. There are plenty of places to walk around Sausalito, if you would like to prolong the date. IG: SACRAMENTOHONEY
Amazing pizza! I tried their crispy artichokes for starters and kale pizza for entree. I loved them both. Flavor of pizza with fried kale on top was amazing. We went on a Sunday so the place was quite busy. We were informed that to be seated outside we have to wait for 45 mins so opted to sit indoor. However, I would recommend outdoor sitting as it has wonderful waterfront view. I loved their food. However, the hostess was a bit grumpy, that’s the reason for taking off one star. Moreover, they don’t do half and half pizzas! Definitely worth!
I recently dined at this amazing place and had a good experience. We ordered garlic bread, crispy artichoke, and brusels sprouts salad for starters. In the main course, we ordered 3 pizza and tomato soup. I would like to give a special shout out to garlic bread, it was truly awesome! The outdoor tranquil setting enhanced my dining experience, creating a perfect backdrop for pictures. V picturesque and scenic view makes this restaurant a must-visit for pizza lovers! I would highly recommend this place.
I recently dined at this fantastic pizza restaurant and was thoroughly impressed with my experience. The pesto chicken pizza and garlic bread were a delightful combination of flavors, leaving my taste buds craving more. The chefs have truly mastered the art of creating mouthwatering dishes. What sets this place apart is its awesome waterside ambiance. The tranquil setting enhanced my dining pleasure, creating a perfect backdrop for a memorable meal. The combination of delicious food and a scenic view makes this restaurant a must-visit for pizza enthusiasts seeking a delightful culinary experience.
Stopped by after a hike and bf the brunch rush on a Sunday morning. Vibe -Sat outside along the water which was nice. Casual seating area and tables available. Fire pits. Kids and dogs welcome. Drinks- full bar and lots of fun cocktails. Good selection of mocktails too. Food- we got chips. Brussels sprouts. Calamari. And artichokes. All were pretty standard appetizers. Service- everyone we interacted with was friendly and helpful.
We put in our names in around 2pm on the Saturday of Labor Day weekend specifically asking for an outdoor seat (which requires you to order food), and were told it would be about 1 hour. The wait actually ended up being closer to 2 hours but this worked out in our favor as we were able to explore Sausalito during that time. We had great seats right by the view of all the boats. Be aware there is a patch of sand and some seating in front of the restaurant that is open to the public. I ordered the chicken quinoa salad and sangria and my friend ordered the shaved fennel and artichoke salad and an iced tea. I liked my salad though thought it was a little light on chicken. My friend also felt the same way about the avocado on her salad. Great place to relax and enjoy the view.
The sourdough breadsticks and prosciutto pizza were amazing! The server was extremely slow and never asked if we wanted a refill on our drinks. I started to wonder where we were even supposed to order our food lol. There was a party going on outside on the bocce court so that took away from the vibes. I’ve seen reviews say the food is sub par but the vibes are great, I would say our experience was the opposite . I would go back for the food!
The pizza crust was super crisp and chewy at the same time. We came on a rainy day and enjoyed a seat inside with a view of the bocce court and outdoor area. The music and decor outside the restaurant so close to the water must be a blast in the summer. I’ve never had a raw artichoke salad but mixed in the fennel it seemed like a close cousin. (Fresh and astringent) A pizza + salad made for a good size lunch combo for a couple. The service was friendly.

Pizza was absolutely delicious! Drinks were very nice as well. But very crowded on weekends and riddled with a very long wait (1.5 hour). The restaurant was so busy that not much attention was given to us once we were seated and ready to order, since we had 1.5 hour to prepare. By the time food came out, it was 3:30pm and we were ravenous. Overall, It seemed the waitstaff were overwhelmed so while the food was great, $25 a pizza * 4 pizzas ($100) with spotty service was not so great. I don’t know when this restaurant is less busy; I suppose on the weekdays, but that would probably be a better time to try it than a weekend!
We were very excited for a trip to Sausalito and in search for amazing pizza. We went with Bar Bocce because of its outdoor setup and Bocce options. However, there was no bocce option and while it has access to a little beach area within arm’s length, getting to it was not easy. You were allowed, but we were scolded for attempting twice. Our kids tried to cross the loose roped gate waterside but we were told the ropes were too fragile. The hostess then directed us to a side entry for the kiddos which was nice, but when I tried to walk my toddler out that way, was scolded by a manager about “reading the signs”. I tried to tell him we were directed by his staff but he didn’t seem to care. He was very rude and told us to walk around the building, we tried but it also seemed closed off. Plus side, the food was great and 10/10 recommend the has warm Olives. It’s vegetarian friendly and vegan manageable. Bar Bocce has potential, but overall service was slow, they weren’t very friendly and it’s not as kid/family friendly as it looks.
So I had a mixed experience at this restaurant . I wasn’t treated very nice by the hostess who snapped at me when I asked if I could have a little larger table. Her response was that it could hold 4 people and she wasn’t going to waist the space. We aren’t a huge chain restaurant she said. The heaters were going full blast directly over my bald head making me feel sunburnt. I asked if it could be turned down and she made a weird grunt/ hupf noise and turned it off completely. I would suggest using the game area in front of the waterfront to put more tables if seating is so limited. I mean seriously you have a fire pit that takes have of the dinning area for 4 people to sit at but your upset that someone having a nice dinner may not want to sit shoulder to shoulder with a stranger. Over all the hostess ruined the night for me and if it wasn’t for very good and creative food I would give this place a very poor rating. BUT— The food was very good, you have to eat it fast because the hostess turned off the heater and so my food got cold very quick! I know she was upset but it literally was on full blast and I was in a direct path of 120 heat blowing on me. Thinking about it now I probably should not have said anything about my table or the temperature and I think it may have been more pleasant. I left a large tip because the waitstaff were attentive and I could see their face and how mortified they were when this lady interacted with customers. lol. A table of three actually lied to her and finally got a larger table by telling her a friend had called and was going to join them and she reluctantly moved them. All the patrons eating dinner kinda looked at each other and gave thumbs up to them for figuring out a way to get a comfortable seat.. although I will be in town for 13 weeks I probably will check out the 10 or 20 other restaurants before going back to this one due to the hostess. It’s a shame cause as you can see from the pictures the view is to die for and the food is quite original and has some good care taken in its preparation and presentation. I have eaten and reviewed many restaurants and to be honest this had the potential to be one of my favorites. It has everything you could want in a beach side atmosphere but is lacking training on customer service and that was actually so bad it ruined the whole experience for me!!
My husband and I are visiting from New Mexico and decided to wing it and stop at Bar Bocce. WOW the food is so delicious!!! We really loved our meal and are completely stuffed. The service was okay. However, we felt unwelcomed and judged. We felt eyes on us and were overall really uncomfortable the majority of the meal. The hostest seemed really kind. Although when we arrived no one was there for a good while and then finally sat us. But once we got there they made sure someone watched us the entire time and was by the entrance. I'm not sure if it's because they thought we would skip out on the bill.... Life style in New Mexico is definitely different! More down to earth. I wish the ambience matched the food! Overall, we would highly recommend the food. Just dress nicely or be more posh I guess or you'll be watched like a hawk the whole meal.
I give this place 5 stars for the food. Long waits suggest making reservation on the weekend. The bar line was extremely long and service was slow. I give this place a 3 due to the service took a long time to take our order when we finally got a table. The waitress forgot about our drinks and the food took a long time to come out. I think it was just the waitress. The view is beautiful and the food is so good we will tray again.
The view is nice but the food is mediocre at best. They pride themselves in their pizza but it was honestly not that great- lacking in flavor. Just because it is sourdough does not mean it is going to taste good. The dough was very flat in taste and texture. My lasagna was a pile of mush with some of the layers burnt black. At $23, it definitely can do better. The meat sauce was surprisingly sweet, in a strange way. The spicy shrimp appetizer was simply a joke....you get 5 small shrimps and 2 pieces of thin toasts....too little to share and not worth $11. They skimped on the shrimp in the po-boy too.....a whole lotta bread. On top of all this, the entrées arrived cold. I saw people who arrived later than us and they got food way before us. Do not recommend.
I wish I could give 2 ratings! I've probably had the best eggplant parmesan here. Decent drink menu.... However... Service was horrible! As we walk in, we were not greeted and when the hostess did come she basically explained the only opening she had was at the front where it was cold. She said our food was going to be cold that if we couldn't take it anymore we can just take the food to go. I thought as she was explaining that, she would offer us to sit inside once there was an opening. 🤐 I wish I could say service got better, but it did not. The view was great and there is a firepit that we moved to, to eat our desert. Vanilla pudding and coconut sorbet was 😋😋😋
I’ve been coming here for years. A bit of a staple here in Sausalito. Overall views are very pretty. Love the outdoor setup. You can not make a reservation or call ahead. They will only put you on the waitlist once you arrive in person. It gets very busy and wait time can be over 30 minutes depending on the day. The food is good. Everything typically comes out pretty quickly. Which is nice. There’s an awesome fire pit you can hang around and drink at. I love that! Super fun. Cocktails are also pretty good. It’s a great hangout on the weekends. I’ve never seen this place slow. EVER. Would recommend checking it out. You’ll have a good time.
Great food. Service took forever, one of our pizzas never came. They did give us a couple of drinks on the house to make up for it. Would recommend going on a slower day to get faster service. Food’s definitely worth it.
Tourist trap. Two all gender restrooms are always occupied. Food is not great, just ok but very expensive for small portions. Ceasar salad tasted like it came from a bag, with 4 cheese croutons from a box. The best thing they had was a pear pizza. Only 6 small slices. Their sangria was good yet it should had more variety of fruit in it.
The staff is very unprofessional and unfriendly. We were not greeted and then when eventually acknowledged the lady who was allocating seating was rude. She asked if we were there for drinks or foo…
First impression is what sticks with you. And if the hostess at the entrance is any indication of the attitude of the restaurant owner and their employees, they usually are, then skip this one unless you want to be mistreated and ignored (we were there 9/17, Sat around noon, in case management want to address this) . Granted I have not tasted their food since I never stuck around to try it, not because there was a waiting list of about 15 minutes but because the hostess was so inattentive like she didn't need our business and had better things to do than her job! Just looked to the left into the distance when replying to my questions, in fact she never looked at me/us even when we entered! Yes the restaurant was full, but no further waiting crowd at the door. And I say "full" generously since the restaurant seating didn't look like it held that many people. I'll hold my 1-star rating for now, but am hoping to give it another try some day to see if that 1-star can improve. Hopefully the hostess will have had a better lunch that day and understand her role is to serve her customers, especially as the first impression of the restaurant she/he represents, and not to make them feel unimportant, and not to look like we're disturbing whatever else you are doing besides hosting as a "hostess"!
Host said 25 minutes for a seat, we waited an hr. We had to ask for our server to come back to our table 30 minutes without checking on us after appetizers, then the guy says " oh did you guys want more food?" Horrible service with a mandatory 21 percent tip. Over priced for just ok food and bad drinks. Its a nice view with the outside seating and if it wasnt for the service i would have probably enjoyed it. Maybe you will have better luck.
