Amazing cheese focaccia! While I was waiting for takeout, Francesca treated me to a glass of wine and some delicious focaccia...well done!
Since I discovered this place, I haven't been to Recco for the famous focaccia because they make it exactly the same here—delicious! On Thursdays they have a focaccia round, and for €15 you can eat your fill!
We had my daughter's 18th birthday party...everything was perfect, super helpful. Excellent service, great food, super generous portions. The Recco focaccia was amazing. Highly recommended!!!
Recco focaccia, expertly prepared: white, with pesto, gorgonzola, walnuts, and salami. SINGLE portions are served in a round, regular-sized pizza, while MULTIPLE PORTIONS are sliced and presented on a stainless steel tray. The pizzata with anchovies, capers, tomato, and cheese is also excellent. The menu also includes appetizers, first courses, second courses, and desserts. The prices reflect the quality of the product: a single portion of Recco white is €12, and a pizzata is €15.
Recco-style Cheese Focaccia that looks to the future is only here: with Pesto, with Salami, Pizza & Classic Focaccia! All you can eat until you say enough! Only €15 Eat endless Cheese Focaccia without ever saying enough? Yes, it's true, I was there; the dream comes true every Thursday evening at 7:30 pm. You can call and book at 366 876 8380 in the cool garden or in the dining room overlooking the beach. This is Bella Recco in Savona, at Corso Veneto 73R, in the neighborhood where I spent my summers for 7 years playing volleyball on the beach. Focaccia Pizzata (photo 1) and Focaccia col formaggio with a touch of tomato, anchovies, oregano, and capers make it superb. In its labyrinth of flavors to choose from, you can taste the joy of the pizza flavor and aroma typical of its ingredients, but the abundance of cheese that pervades it brings you back to the pleasure of cheese focaccia. Focaccia col Formaggio with two very thin slices of Milanese salami (photo 2), very fine and flavorful. This version is pleasantly captivating, more than others, thanks to the marriage of cured meat and cheese, both fused into two delicious flavors to be savored for a long time. This new version launched by Bella Recco is a new addition. Needless to say, this version was slightly saltier than the other versions. My favorite for its originality, flavor, and resourcefulness. Pesto Cheese Focaccia (photo 3): excellent, excellent! If you haven't tried it in Recco, nobody makes it at Tossini's on Via Roma in Recco. It's considered blasphemy, but it's loved and everyone loves it because the pesto dips into the cheese, accentuating the flavors of both. This version was also slightly saltier than the others. Recco-style Cheese Focaccia (photo 4): very thin (photo 4), generously topped with cheese, the crust was so flavorful and crispy that the taste made me think of a Carnival Focaccia, with its aroma, flavor, and crispy thinness. Served last, we asked for seconds several times. Served in generous portions, and each time they arrived, it announced what was coming. All it took was a simple request: "Would you like another serving of the Pesto one," for example, to double the dream of continuing to enjoy this delightful Ligurian focaccia that distinguishes us throughout the world. The portions were quite substantial, very fine, well garnished with the ingredients that distinguished one from the other.
I recently ate at Bella Recco and had an extraordinary experience. A journey of flavors with excellent food in a rustic yet well-curated setting. The staff was very friendly, with the owner, Mr. Lorenzo, charismatic and incredibly knowledgeable. From the Ligurian focaccia (authentic) to the fish and meat (Piedmontese on this occasion), the dishes were all delicious. The desserts, strictly made on-site, were delicious and, above all, fresh. I highly recommend it for spending a few hours in a genuine setting and experiencing unique experiences. A total of 10 out of 10 🔝🔝🔝🔝🔝
Very good food, service and prices.
A venue on the Savona seafront, with a large garden for lovely evenings, excellent food, and exceptional Recvo focaccia. For music lovers, there are special evenings with dancing and dance lessons.
The service is quick and the staff are very friendly and welcoming, making sure customers of all ages feel comfortable. We ordered a pan of traditional cheese focaccia for two and a plate of grilled vegetables (carrots, eggplant, peppers, and zucchini) plus a liter of drinking water. The prices are affordable and average. We recommend it and would gladly return to try other specialties besides Recco focaccia, such as the seafood pasta dishes, the peppered mussels, or the fried anchovies. The portions are generous; in fact, a single pan of classic stracchino focaccia is enough to feed two people. Definitely worth a try!
Inside a period building overlooking the sea (which, unfortunately, can't be seen from inside), with a street entrance through a lovely little garden with tables, this is a simple place with friendly staff and delicious home-cooked food, featuring pasta and fish at more than decent prices and generous portions. You can't miss the excellent Recco focaccia, faithful to the original (with melted cheese), which is so hard to find these days. You'll want to return just for that...
I'm always a fan of the cloth tablecloth... The place is close to the sea, and this rightly helps it attract customers. I found the food delicious, with the waiting time between courses also "just right," which was a good thing because the place was busy. It's also suitable for a snack, if you like.
We happened upon this restaurant by chance one Sunday while they were hosting a folk dancing party. The staff were young and welcoming, and the food was tasty and plentiful. The Recco focaccia was delicious. The price was commensurate with the quality. With all the magic of dining just steps from the sea, we had a pleasant evening.
Menu only given verbally
We booked almost a month ago for Christmas lunch, called back yesterday to ask about an allergen, and arrived today to find our table was unavailable. They set up a cramped table in the center of the room and seated us. The portions were meager and mostly cold. The waiters were friendly, but the lady was very rude, almost as if we were bothering her.
One star because zero isn't an option... in any case, I can't review the food because I didn't have the pleasure of tasting it due to the rather awkward welcome. I'm reluctant to say "Ligurian hospitality" because I'm part of this wonderful region, which has little to do with such behavior. We arrived and after waiting at least 10 minutes, we were told to move because we were crowded against a table that, rightly, complained about the lack of staff; the staff didn't examine their conscience, but instead basically blamed us in a very impolite manner. Up to this point, one might think they could be right, but if that were the case, we wouldn't have had to wait half an hour for our drink order, which never arrived anyway. We sat down, giving it another chance (which I wouldn't have given). We were handed a menu despite there being three of us, only to then be left to fend for ourselves. Seeing that almost all the tables were still unserved (they had arrived well before us), we decided to go elsewhere. If a place can't handle all its tables (there were quite a few empty ones anyway), it would be better to hire more people, or better yet, keep fewer.
Alua, semmu andô inta ostaja a mangiaâ, bona la fugassa de Recco, ancioe frïtœ good, BUT there was a lot of ciàtto, and when it arrived, gh’an spantegou o’ Vim Clorex inta balera, unna spussa terribile. In Italian: We came to eat this evening, the anchovies and the focaccia di Recco were good… but the service and organization were terrible. Almost an hour passed before we were served, they brought the first things and the plates were missing, then the wrong order was placed and a fried food disappeared in the kitchen. While we were eating, they spilled detergent on the dance floor in the garden near the tables. I tasted a fritto misto that tasted like dishwashing liquid. The only positive thing was the curly waiter, the only one who apologized.
As a true Fornacino living abroad, I love returning to the places where I spent a good part of my childhood and my life in general. And first and foremost is the Serenella Society, with its XXV Aprile performances, skating lessons, anchovy festivals, lifeguard training, and so on… But unfortunately, this time was a huge disappointment. Actually, it was the second time…but I wanted to give it another chance before reviewing. After sitting at the table for over half an hour, we had to call for service even though half the tables were free. The Recco focaccia was anything but good, with a thick dough, full of semolina, and brewer's yeast…and the prescinsêua barely made it… The octopus with potatoes was average, neither good nor bad…but the fried food was nothing short of terrible. Soft, cold, unimaginably greasy, with bits of breadcrumbs mixed with soggy, sticky crusts... I sent it back without any fuss or fuss, just a huge disappointment. The owner at the register pretended nothing had happened, leaving it on the bill. I had to clarify that I'd "returned" it because he'd deducted it from the bill. Zero organization, zero service, zero quality, lousy prosecco, forget about the coffee... only the bottled beers are worth it... I hope the partners take action and entrust the management to someone who understands at least a little about catering... More than Bella Recco, now it seems like a Sleeping Beauty... what a shame.
