We came here with my brother (in August), who happens to work in Las Vegas and has access to the world's best. He's not easy to please all the time, but he was impressed by Daleys on multiple levels. The drink menu is fresh and on point, decor is modern but not pretentious, and the food is on point, serving portion sizes they don't necessarily have to, but welcomed. I like that it's hidden down a side street, it makes it feel like a hidden gem. You should definitely make this a must stop if you are visiting Schenectady.

We chose this place from our hotel's recommendations because it emphasized using local produce. We did not make a reservation but when we arrived on Friday evening around 6 pm, we were seated right away. The restaurant set up was quite nice, it had an enclosed patio area, lounge seating, along with indoor bar and dining room seating options. We sat at the patio area to enjoy the summer evening. Our server looked tired but she was attentive and helpful. We ordered tuna tartare, the tuna was good but the avocado portion was very small. We also had the eggplant with four cheeses, that was very delicious and I could taste different cheeses!! We also shared their "Very Best Pot Roast"... they weren't joking! It was tender, juicy and flavourful, highly recommended! I personally find the main entree options lacking but the restaurant probably more catering to date nite or group event given the set up, so possibly most of their patrons order small plates to share rather than a sit down proper meal.

Credible Critic

Good restaurant in this part of NY state. Good wine and beer list. We had a variety of dishes, ranging from the "famous" pot roast, the burger, the ceasar salad, the shrimp cocktail and ana's meatballs. The quality of these dishes were about average at best. Our food were very salty, without anything standout. We felt that for the prices that this restaurant demands, it does not deliver. Service was excellent. We had a nice time, just wish the food could be a tad better.

I went to Daley's for dinner on a Friday night. It was a snowy night and the restaurant was fairly empty at 7pm. The decor is lovely. Dim lighting, comfortable seats and the firepits were burning outside creating a nice cozy glow through the windows. I was excited to eat here because there were so many gluten aware options. There were 4 people in my party and I was the only one with a food allergy ( gluten). We ordered a round of drinks and I placed an order for the baked brie for the table which was available with gf bread. I made sure to specify when I ordered that it was to be prepared gf. The waiter was like..."no prob, I got you". When the brie came out, I noticed the bread didn't look gf. As someone who has been gluten free for almost 20 years, I'm very aware of what gf bread looks like. I asked the person who brought it to the table (the manager, i think) if she could confirm if it was gf and she immediately said...oops, no it's definitely not. They took it away and prepared a new one with gf bread. When they brought the new one to the table the cheese was not at all melted which is sort of the whole point of dipping the bread into the melted cheese. After asking them to heat it up again, the manager apologized and offered to take the brie off of the bill Entrees were ordered prior to this and we waited and waited and waited... around 30 minutes. The restaurant was literally 3/4 empty. The kitchen was not that busy. There seemed to be a bit of an issue with our dishes coming out of the kitchen in a timely manner. The nachos and the chicken parm that my friend's ordered were sitting up there for at least fifteen minutes. The chicken was hot but the pasta under it was cold and the nachos were soggy after sitting so long. I ordered a crab cake and my friend ordered the scallops and both of those were fine. We didn't complain about any of the entrees because at that point we were just frustrated by the mistakes. The waiter apologized about the brie and further offered that the next round of drinks would be on the house.However, we were not intending on drinking anymore. So instead of comping the drinks that we had already ordered he just didn't do anything and brought us the bill After we received the bill, we spoke to the manager and she did take the round of drinks off the bill as well as the brie. I appreciate that they attempted to make the situation right, but if you're going to offer gluten free options , you should really be well versed on how to serve them properly and safely. I'm not sure if they were just having an off night due to the snow storm but i'm really reluctant to come back again. Overall, it was a disappointing dining experience.

We finally got to revisit to Daley's anticipating another great dining experience. All our entrees were well prepared and nicely presented. My Faroe salmon had an excellent crust while being tender and tasty. The rib eye and filet mignon were cooked perfectly. Our server, David, was pleasant and thorough, providing excellent suggestions and recommendations. His fillet mignon cooking suggestion was accurate, ordering the fillet medium was spot on, and the salted caramel gelato was enjoyed by all. As he politely and professional dodged the evening's bummer, I surmised it's a regular occurrence. The beet salad was the only dining disappointment. The rock-hard beets were jaw breakers. Using those beets in a carpaccio would make a much better appetizer. After a few tastings and suggestions from Sue, we finished our evening fireside on the patio. Unfortunately, the evening's bummer that preceded our excellent meal came from Daly's reservation app and their front of the house's attitude. I receive fewer confirmations and notifications from my neurologist than I got from their booking app. I wanted to dine outside, on the patio. If I wanted to eat beneath an overhead door, I would have stayed in my garage. Somehow, you're supposed to divine a patio dining request, then specifically make said request, on a reservation app that has no such option. Being repeatedly told that I had no patio dining request, while true, and never acknowledging their app's shortcoming was beyond irritating. My only solace was having overheard the same nonsense with the diners in the queue ahead of me, who also got to dine under the garage doors.

Beauty By God's Design

The food was overpriced and not good at all. Rice undercooked all 4 entrees were salty. The space is beautiful and somewhat friendly but we will not be back. The food was not good. Very disappointed..wanted it to become a go to spot but the food was a turnoff. Left a bad taste in our mouths.

I came here with my girlfriend for Valentine’s day. Ordered 2 apps, 2 drinks each and entrees. I got a $50 steak and a $25 lobster tail. The lobster tail was mediocre as were the apps. This was my “medium” steak pictured below. This was one of the worst cooked steaks I have ever seen in my life so I mentioned it to the waiter, he says “oh yeah that is not medium”. He proceeds to come back and tell me I will not be getting a refund or a new steak because they are too busy. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. *First review ever*

We were waiting at the bar for over an hour past our reservation time before we were seated.. with little communication which had to be initiated by us. We watched as multiple displaced people grew frustrated at the bar as they were also left waiting on their table for a long time. We were told at 8:20 that the table that was seated at 6:19 was still eating and when asked, staff said they were “supposed to time” the tables but admitted no one was doing it. Once seated, we waited 30 minutes for soup and shrimp cocktail and after waiting just shy of 2 hours we received the saddest looking shrimp and the smallest container of sauce. For a place that usually provides quality plates I was shocked and outraged. This was not worth $85 and 2 hours of my time and we hadn’t even had our main course! At this point, our time was wasted, we were starving and we had missed the plans that we made after our allotted reservation time. We made the decision to leave and the manager was supposed to speak to us and she never showed. I hope this is resolved for us, and the many people who were left disappointed alongside us. This was not a good show of professionalism and care for your customers. I would like to note the staff, despite their clear stress, were incredibly kind and as helpful as they could be. This ultimately falls on poor management and the owners. I will not come back to this establishment unless some resolution is made as this truly made a special night a disappointing one.

So, so bad. Ordered the truffle fries as an appetizer and a burger. The truffle fries were incredibly salty, soggy, and cold. I usually like salt but this was insane. The burger I ordered was supposed to be medium well but was closer to medium rare. Service was horrible. Once the staff caught on that we weren’t very pleased with the food it seemed like they started ignoring us. Waiter came by all of 3 times the entire time. Was so hungry but the food was borderline inedible. So disappointing for the very high prices. 19 dollars for a burger. The waiter only took off the fries from our bill. Never going back.
