Best diner in the capital district. Pages and pages of menu items. You want it they probably have it. Atmosphere is clean and classy for a dinner.

Best breakfast around. The kids meals are correctly proportioned and priced so you don't feel like your child is wasting food. They also give a cookie to them for dessert! The breakfast quesadilla is my favorite.

Although they don't offer lamb gyros, my beef gyro was good and the salad that came with it was outstanding. The dessert case looked amazing, and the cheesecake I brought home was worth the calories. An excellent Greek diner, but a bit nicer than your average diner. I'll definitely go out of my way to stop here again.

We were at a soccer tournament this past weekend and saw Tops so we decided to try it. I'm so glad we did. The portions are gigantic and their food is DELICIOUS. There were so many options to choose from that we definitely have to go back. Highly recommend!!!

Tops has a big variety of food choices and they are all pretty good. I eat here several times a year and am always satisfied with portion and taste.

I have to write to review the wait staff. My elderly father has issues with his hands shaking and can't do a lot himself. The waitress's know this and help him a lot. They open his creamers and straws , they know he needs a straw for his coffee too. And the waitress Heather cuts up his pancakes for him !!! Amazing instead of feeling embarrassed going out eating in public , they make him feel comfortable like family And as a side note tops is the only local place that I've found that makes a good risotto.

Stopped here for late lunch on our way to Saratoga PAC. They have a little bit of everything on the menu and was way too hard to pick! Had a burger with onions & peppers and a turkey wrap with avocado and roasted red peppers. They were both delicious. Our waiter was very friendly and fun to chat with!

Have always got good service here, usually quite busy, but the food is excellent and served fairly quickly. Price is very reasonable considering the large portions. We always end up taking some home. Would highly recommend this restaurant as we always look forward to going.

I'm one of the few people who eat breakfast in the late afternoon. My ham and cheese omelette was wonderful!!! (I also like their Eggs Benedict, my favorite dish.) I wish that they had non-dairy creamer for my hot tea, but I have managed with just sugar and lemon. (The waitress was very prompt with any extra hot water.) I will be back there soon for one of their many marvelous looking desserts that I always tend to miss!!!

Went there with friends and really enjoyed everything. It's set up like a restaurant but has a New York Diner feel , pleasant atmosphere with a family vibe. Food was great as was the service. First time here and I am so happy we went! Our server Griffin was absolutely amazing. Not just with us but also with the table across from us who had a small child.He was attentive and came over often to check in on us. The food was also fantastic and we appreciated that the serving sizes were ample and not lacking. We had two people order the Gorgonzola steaks - they were cooked exactly as ordered and were fantastic. One person ordered a burger - which was also fantastic. Someone else ordered the crabcakes and they were delicious. They were NOT small, which is so incredibly rare when you order at a resturaunt. I had the turkey club which was stuffed with meat. It was so nice to see, because normally sandwiches at resturaunts have a lot of lettuce but no meat. We had one person at our table who has celiac disease. They were amazing at accommodating his food sensitivity. That made me so happy, because its really hard to find places we can eat that can accommodate his needs. All in all, 10/10 experience. I highly recommend trying Tops. You won't be disappointed. Keep up the great work guys! Can't wait to come back.

I hadn't been to Tops in many years. After dinner there, I asked myself, "Why?". The atmosphere would be considered upscale as diners go with sparkles in the tiles, life-sized palm trees, and velvet drapes between rooms. The menu is extensive, and my chicken pot pie was delicious. I tasted my grandson's stuffed haddock, which was just as good. The homemade soup was just the way I liked it, and of course, we needed to end it with lemon meringue and coconut cream pie. The price was affordable. The free parking was extensive and handicapped accessible. I'll be returning soon so I won't have to ask, "Why?".

We came in for Christmas Eve dinner around 6pm and were sat immediately. Our waitress Jill was phenomenal, very attentive and friendly, and had a great personality. The food here is very good. It was nice and hot when served. The service was excellent. We went at Sunday dinner hour and there was a 10 minute wait for a table. Which was not bad considering we had a fairly large group. They have a children's menu and high chairs. The parking, entrance and restrooms 🚻 are handicapped accessible. They have wonderful desserts unfortunately we were all so full we didn't have room for them. They have a large menu. The prices are moderate to expensive depending on what you order. Locally owned dinner with dinner menu but not your typical diner atmosphere. It’s been redone into a rather nice restaurant feel. That staff has always been friendly and the food is spot on. The desserts are a treat and I’ve not had a poor experience there once.

I was unable to cook Thanksgiving Dinner this year because of wrist and hand surgery. A friend recommended that I order from a restaurant. So with one week to go I called up and booked my dinners. I was able to add and remove what I wanted and didn't want. When we went to pick up we waited only a few minutes. A young woman brought the bags to us but seeing my splint immediately said she would take it out to the car. Arriving home the meals were still hot and delicious. The Apple Pie that we chose for dessert was the best pie I've had in many years. After finishing up my husband and I have decided that I don't need to be disabled to order the holiday meal. If you are just a couple on your own, I highly recommend you order your meal from Tops. So nice to relax after dinner with no clean up.AT HOME.

When I went to pick it up I asked if I could buy some real silverware for them so they would not have to try and cut a steak with a plastic fork. We had the best server! She has a great personality, was fast on everything - coffee refills, food & anything we needed, but didn't rush us. She was outstanding! We both had waffles, eggs, and sausage. The waffles were perfect and the sausages weren't those sad, scrawny sausages - so good! Excellent breakfast Tops! We were very pleased and will certainly be back again.

We do not eat out frequently, but when we head to the Capital District, it has become our habit to head to Tops American Grille. The food is always excellent and hot! In all our visits, we have never had a bad meal. The service is friendly and generally attentive. Our most recent visit was on Valentine’s Day. Our server, Nikki G. was excellent! She was very attentive, friendly, and intuitive; not requiring our asking for things we might need. She was always ahead of us. She even brought the owner to our table to say hello. It was a totally pleasant experience.

Food was excellent, both of us had the Roast Pork Dinner with Beef Barley Soup.. $16.95.. Waitstaff was working solo, dispite having and issue with her hip.. She was pleasant and you could tell she has been doing this gig for a while.. Plates were hot(a must for me) food was hot.. all flavorful, spiced perfectly for my partner and I.. we each brought half of our meals home... hotess was pleasant and accomodated my spouses request for a table for her disability, well after being put on the waiting list.. It was 11/23 Sunday 11:45am and busy.. Good job guys... One downside was that we were put into a back room at first we thought bummer... but it turned out very well, we could talk to each other over the din of the main Restaurant.. This will be a Sunday go to for us for a while, coming from MIddleburgh NY

Me and my sister went to Topp's diner and restaurant for my birthday on October 21 2125. Check them out. We did had AT bone steak with match. Purchases and corn was very good. My sister had a Tuna Melt with French fries. That also was good. She was very. Should have had their food in the past. And she knew that it was very good. There's also a bar if you wanted to get drinks. I would assume for after 120 during the day at night. I couldn't tell you're headed. It's over near Robertson industrial park. Or as I satellite people, it's the top Broadway. Hi'll to cross street from McDonald's at 5 corners. I believe there's an Aldi's across the street. Try it Food's good. You can even call there and have your food made and pick it up and bring it home if you wish they have desserts that look delicious. They have handicapped parking. They have a ramp for those who can't walk. It's one place to be if you want just comfort food. If you are going for a shell saying like proctors. Tonight's place just to stop for a bite or take it with you. It was up to me. I would give him 75 stars for excellent food. Good service and nice low atmosphere.

Doesn't look that enticing from the outside(totally fine and nice), but the inside is really cool and interesting. The bar has this blue glass backsplash and looked amazing. Very nice decor all around. The prices were normal and not cheap or expensive. Breakfast was great in every way. Some meals come with coffee too!

For starters, we live (3 hours away) and will be without a doubt driving back out here to eat again on our personal time . We are first responders who transferred a patient to a hospital in Albany and needed food on the way back to our station. Saw the sign on the highway and decided to eat here. Food was DELICIOUS. Service was GREAT. The coleslaw was beautiful , I even ordered a side to go. Writing this review as we sit in the ambulance making the drive back and all of us just keep talking about the food. We are very full. Very content. Wish we could nap. 5 STARS

I've been to this place a few times and have never been disappointed. We went last night for Schenectady Restaurant Week 2020 and the streak continues. Between the two of us we tried: Spinach artichoke dip; Tomato, basil & mozzarella; stuffed shrimp; stuffed chicken; chocolate torte: and dutch apple cheesecake. Everything was delicious and I'm glad we chose them during this event. (Also can say from past experience that their breakfast is wonderful)

I want to commend this place for their great customer service. I visited this place six months ago and I am creating this review now, as I still recall my experience here. My first time dining here at Tops, but my boyfriend has been here before with his family. We came here REALLY late because it was after a show (I think it was around 10pm), and you could tell they were closing soon. Not many people there. Initially it was rough because we were seated but then they proceeded to forget about us for like 10-15 minutes. No waitress coming to take our order or check with us or nothing. Instead the remaining employees were in the front socializing. I finally walked over and asked if anyone was coming and they promptly apologized and a waitress finally came to assist us (they really did forget us lol, but it's okay mistakes happen). She was really nice and got us our orders and everything. The food was pretty good, but the best thing was how they handled their initial mistake. They offered us two free desserts as compensation and as an extra apology, which was really nice and professional of them 'cause they didn't gave to do that - and plenty of places wouldn't do that. We had picked a slice of cake and cheesecake to go and both were delicious! It really reflects positively when businesses handle things like this. So I'd like to thank this place again for their wonderful customer service, and I recommend it.

Went there Fathers Day w group of 12 People Lunch, only 3 tables had diners throughout the time we were there in the banquet room, other area was full. FOOD all liked the food except the 3 people who had Omlettes w Homefries. Omlettes were not wrapped in egg, looked like scrapped ingredients were mixed with egg, dry, other ingredients were mixed in that were not on the menu for each one ordered. The girl in our group said it must be the chef, usually the omlettes are excellent. Homefries look like the photos on their website, like scraps mixed in with few dices of potato, and onions pieces, burnt, dry. Beverages were good. SERVICE nice waitresses, took half hour to take orders, 45 minutes to receive food. PRICE was very good for the portions of food. ATMOSPHERE good accomodations for wheelchairs, booths, tables, seats all cleaned good. Loud once all diners are talking, ladys restroom nicely redone just could use a bit of tweaking (TP slides off bar) small hole in counter, hang other soap dispenser. One tiny light in dining room ceiling flickers, vents need cleaning. HOWEVER i put this in writing on a napkin but a person in our party did not want me to say anything while the group was there, so she discarded my note and it was not seen by the staff at the time. I did not find this out until after we left. I also was advised to return food to waitress and state my issues, because i thought i was the only one who was not satisfied with my meal, once i found out it was all 3 who ordered omlettes, after we already left thats why i posted this review. It seems that it may have been a fluke off time with the omelettes, however not the homefries as seen in their own website photos (attached). The potato wedges would be a good substitute.

Great service! Bartender a little snippy but considering most of them were working doubles for days because the are under staffed like the rest of the world. Drinks are a hard no for me way way too strong. The food on the other hand was on point!! Delicious meal for all 6 of us.

Tops American Grill, I remember when this restaurant was just selling basic comfort foods for the Rotterdam community. Then they remodeled & made their menu special. Still serving delish comfort food but with a higher standard for what they serve. Clean and modern w/ pleasant servers while serving many perfectly cooked items.

The four of us stopped for breakfast after a Saturday mass. We were seated right away. Service was quick and efficient. Food was delicious. We enjoyed mimosas as we chatted and everything was wonderful. It always is.

I haven't been to Tops in quite some time. Though the food wasn't perfect, it was pretty decent, including the service. The steaks were cooked the way I like them, but had very little seasoning. My main issue was the soup was not as fresh as it should have been. Strangely, the dinners were not served with bread and butter or rolls. Nevertheless, the waitress earned her tip. The bill was a bit expensive, but I expected that it wasn't going to be cheap. I took home a slice of cheesecake for later.

This is a very reliable place to eat. Food is always good, service is also, and it's a typical dinner atmosphere with a little bit of extra sparkle.

Convenient comfort food not far from the highway. We had a French dip and a Reuben which were both very good. The coffee was full of flavor and a great pick-me-up before getting back on the road. Service was speedy, friendly, and professional.

Pretty standard-issue diner. Stopped in for breakfast. Was waiting for a few minutes before someone came out to seat me. It was like two minutes after they opened though and they were handling a situation where someone locked their keys in their car on the way in. So I gotta assume that's not "the usual." Once seated, service was excellent, food was inexpensive and tasty (loved that crispiness on the potatoes!). Cash-out process was quick and painless. Would definitely go back.

Was there with a group event with a VERY limited menu so the options weren't great Grilled chicken caesar salad was soggy with dressing. Burgers were super thin, school lunch burgers. The creamy chicken an rice soup was prolly the best thing on the table besides my margaritas 🍹 😋 Staff was friendly and efficient owners need to step up their game.But the quality of food, it may be update the decor a littlle...tad bit dated.

The first orange juice we got had black specs all over it and in it. Second cup was fine. Only thing I could complain about was it seemed like they didn't really want us there. I have a love-hate relationship with this place. There are days when service is exceptional and everything comes out quick. And then there are days when I don't get a coffee refill at all. The food is good but portion size varies. Edit: I'm not sure if Top's will see this but responding to their response, the issues I've had here and there definitely don't keep me away. I'm actually hoping to become a regular at some point.

Yesterday was the second time we’ve been there recently. 1st time we got the turkey dinner and it was very good. Yesterday we went for lunch, got the pot roast special and it was tasteless, both the meat & gravy. The wedge fries were good and the mixed veggies and soup. The price on the special’s menu said $10.99 and we got charged 14.99! Needless to say, we won’t be back. None of the 4 of us liked the food.

Went for breakfast. Ordered mediterranean omelette. With rye. The omelette was typical. A little overcooked - I like them fluffy, this was not. But the potatoes (home fries) had seen better days. Food quality has greatfully fone down hill feta cheese omlette never has it been made like this and ive odered from them a lot in past ten years. One of the most frustrating dining experiences I’ve ever had. We sat for almost an hour after ordering before our food even arrived - and when it finally did, it was cold. Tried to tell the waitress and she completely ignored us. It wasn’t busy, it wasn’t packed. Then we go to pay at the register and the hostess tells us it’ll be another 5 minute wait to ring up the order…? I’m not waiting to pay when I already sat for over an hour for subpar service and food. I can definitely say I will never, ever be back again. Shame.

Went here with a party of 6 for breakfast. No one enjoyed their food. Everything was overcooked. It's a shame we really wanted to like this local diner but not this time.

Got our order wrong toast was burnt and pancakes where still doughy and eggs are extremely runny used to eat here all the time but seems to gone downhill don't order here for mothers day wasted 80 dollars for a meal that would of been 60 at redwood and done right ended up throwing it out and making breakfast

Tops American grill bakery and bar is NOTHING like the Tops Diner in New Jersey. This top's here need to get some training from The fabulous Tops diner in New Jersey on how to serve with integrity to any customer that orders from them. The food is good...l even let the manager know when I called to put in a complaint that my order was mess UP again. I've complained to establishments in the pasted when the food is good and I will complain when the food is or the service is lousy. And I will do the same on my reviews. Anywho. My complaints are....l call in an orders for pickup....each time I ordered something from there l had to call back and let them know that my order was incomplete. Three different times The feedback was "I'm so sorry the bag that you had your salad in or soup in or whatever it was that I ordered was forgotten so sorry about that." Three times, and I only ordered three times from them and each time they screwed up. Well today the third time, l order from there, I called to ask a question which was what size coleslaw you have the girl on phn said, a small medium and large I said okay I will come in and pick it up. My husband picked up the order.... when he got home and when I looked in the bag I was so upset with this so-called diner I called them and let them know I wasn't satisfied with a small bowl of coleslaw that wasn't even filled to the top. I asked for medium and they gave me a small. The girl said I'm so sorry but we usually don't sell coleslaw on the side. I just hung up after saying bye. I wasn't disrespectful because that's not who I am and I'm not going to sink down to that establishment level. I told my husband this is the last time that we will deal with that sorry business. And I will write a review which I'm doing now. I'm not trying to turn anyone away from going to that business I just want people to know my issue the problem that I've had three times with this business. Maybe you will have a good experience. we didn't and I don't think we deserve the treatment of messing up our orders three times back to back? My husband stood waiting for someone to take his order it was very uncomfortable while others were being waited on. They never did until he walked up to counter to ask how long he have to wait. I wonder what the issue was for them to do that to a paying customer??? I wonder...um??

Today was our first time here our server name was charlotte! Oh man what an experience she was NOT very friendly she sever us coffee didn’t bother to come back and ask if we need anything a refill we order our food she brought it out with an attitude toast and homefries was burnt we had to ask her 3 times for A1 steak sauce then she brought it again didn’t come back to see we if need anything else or ask how was our food 32 minutes later she brought the bill and that was it. I don’t really complain or write reviews but this service was not OKAY!!!!

I went here for a birthday breakfast. My friends brought their very young toddler: they waited over 25 minutes for 1 pancake. The waitress who was assigned to the table was not attentive to all of her guests. One of the other waitresses had to talk to her about getting said pancake order in. Food was poorly seasoned, and I ended up getting sick an hour later. On top of that: absolutely sub par coffee. While the atmosphere is nice: It's not worth it.

Worst lunch ever. My mom's fish fry was a thing flat looked like a frozen fish Patty and it was cold. French fries were soggy and cold ,seemed old. Y french onion soup the croutons were so hard . The reason I post is because even after telling them how bad it all was they never offered a new one or any money off. No wonder Bellevue cafe is packed and tops isn't. Gone downhill sooo much

I've had three meals here and I cannot recommend the food. This is a baby mouth boomer hotspot. Nothing is fresh. Nothing is seasoned. The menu is too large to offer any quality. If you order the largest steak on the menu, it comes cut and cooked as strips. The corn is obviously canned. Staff and atmosphere are lovely... Food is stuck in 1975.

I literally called Fri and asked about a wrap and they assured me it had no egg in it. I was so sick from it. Good thing my allergy is not deadly just makes me ill. I called and asked for a manager the same young lady told me he's in Greece until October. Just a heads up for anyone looking to order the boss is away

DO NOT ORDER BREAKFAST TO GO! I have ordered twice now and both times my order has been COLD and the wrong food! They knock it out of the park if you dine in, I have no clue why take out is so horrible but do not waste your money. If you don't have the time to dine in, pass them up quickly and save your $$$$
