Had an amazing experience at Lure last night with our family. We dined outside on the patio area so we could have our pup. To start I had the espresso martini, it was perfect! For my dinner I had the three course dinner: Cesar salad, grilled salmon, and cherry pie for dessert; this whole meal was delicious (I had a taste of my friends calamari and would switch my salad for that next time, it was so good.) She had the white fish which she loved! The kids menu was perfect, my son had the salmon and daughter enjoyed her chicken strips and French fries. Our server was great and many other servers filled our waters as needed, amazing service. So welcoming! We would definitely dine here again and highly recommend. Kid and pup friendly!
My husband and I always make sure we book reservations for Lure whenever we are in Door County. Everything about this restaurant is top notch, from the service, the food, and the ambiance. Today, we had a first! We made early reservations and took advantage of their early dining special. This special allows you to get a 3-course meal for $29.95! You get soup or salad, an entree, and a dessert. I would watch the prices because some of the "entrees" (i.e., 6 oz. Filet) is on the $29.95 3-course menu, but they add $8 which is actually more than the actual menu price. However, the early dining specials allow you to get the soup/salad and dessert too, which would be an additional charge on the regular menu. The deal can't be beat!!! We were able to eat at Lure for $87 and that included two alcoholic beverages for my husband and myself. Highly, highly, highly recommend!
Nice place for dinner. Food was delicious. One thing I would like to bring attention is that sauces served in plastic. Everything else is so nice and plastic mini bowl feels awkward when you leave 100$ for dinner of two.
Lure never disappoints! We were so excited to see them open for Easter Weekend! We had delicious spicy tuna roll and amazing crab cakes for apps. The seafood pasta and Ceasars salad with salmon was amazing! We always love Lure, and prefer it over Chop- their sister restaurant, so we were thrilled to see them open for the off season. Thank you for a delicious Good Friday dinner!
The outside seating was quiet and peaceful despite the location. The specialty libations were well done. The food was amazing! Crab nachos so good we forgot to take a picture. Lobster risotto was creamy and robust with flavors. Lastly the Whitefish Almondine was a delicate fish that was flakey with the almond crunch and a citrus finish.
We enjoyed our dinner in the outdoors section. The wait staff were very friendly and attentive. We ordered the shrimp tempura sushi roll, lobster bisque, beef tips and Parmesan crusted whitefish. Our favorite dish was the Parmesan crusted whitefish. It blew us away and 100% recommended. The next dish that we enjoyed was the lobster bisque. That was out of this world and required a bowl portion. The beef tips was just fine, it’s a lot of the same flavor. Highly recommend pairing the whitefish with the peach barn sour on tap!
My husband and I enjoyed our drinks at the bar, a bourbon old fashioned and a red horse. For dinner we were seated inside. In the future I would probably try a table outdoors as it looked beautiful. Our food was delicious. We had lobster risotto and white fish with mashed potatoes and shared a bowl of lobster bisque. For dessert, we had ice cream drinks, a Brandy Alexander and a Grasshopper. Excellent!
Food was excellent! We came at 5pm for the 3 course special and it was well worth it. Clam chowder was perfect and not too fishy. Service was also great and fast. Thank you Walker for a great experience!
Came here to celebrate our one year wedding annicersary- phenomenal food, full of flavor, and delicious as always!
We were seated on the porch which we loved. We chose the early three-course dinner and were very pleased. I started with the Calamari, which was excellent, and my husband had the Caesar salad which he enjoyed. My husband savored the salmon and I got the crab cakes. I thought these cakes were the closest to those in Baltimore for which I'm always searching to find. My husband ended with Cherry pie and my dessert was a key lime pie. It was more like a key lime cheesecake which made it extra yummy. I had a jaloma as my cocktail and if you like tequila, I'd highly recommend. This place is pricier but I found the meal and experience deserving.
We thought the food was excellent. Went for my birthday dinner and loved every part of it. From drinks, apps (seriously how do you make that cornbread) to the dessert. Good stuff! I got the halibut and it was so delicious. My husband got a steak and he loved it.
Make sure you have reservations. Got there earlier and had a drink at the bar while we waited. Wife absolutely loved the blueberry lemon drop. We ordered the baby clams for an app. They were cooked in a garlic butter sauce. Crusted Parm Halibut and the seafood pasta. Very good!
Just a great restaurant. The $29 early diner deal was fantastic. Best patio dining on Door Peninsula. Loved this place. $5 Old Fashioneds were fantastic
Happy hour ran from 4:30-6:00 (bar only) with $5 Old Fashions along with a nice selection of appetizers served in surprisingly large servings! Highly recommend.
Simply amazing - down to the drinks, service, and food/dessert. My husband and I had the calamari, seafood pasta and the soy-ginger glazed halibut. Each dish was delicious and the fish was cooked to perfection. We will certainly be coming back!
Thankful they had a small CHOP menu! We had a great wedding anniversary meal. Staff was friendly and we felt like we didn't have to wait long for our steaks. The 10oz NY Strip special was great and cooked exactly how I preferred.
Friendly staff, and great food. Salmon was one of the best I've ever had a restaurant. Dame(?) our server was very polite and accommodating. Thank you.
Fantastic every time! The Halibut & crab crusted halibut is outstanding. Crab nachos are soooo good! Great service and ambiance. We love this place! Update: we come back every year on our annual DC trip. Still our favorite place!! My son had the pork katsu last night..deelish! The calamari is the best we've had, love the fried jalapeños mixed in!
Lure was absolutely on point for a nice outdoor dining experience. We were there in August of 2020 and despite the Plandemic we enjoyed ourselves. The food was fantastic overall but I'd like to highlight their cherry pie which I had for dessert. My wife had a liquid dessert and chose a Brandy Alexander. I would highly recommend Lure for a date night out place. We'll definitely be back.
What a treat! Fabulous servers as well ..and fast too! Our food could not have been better 🙂Treat yourself Here and Enjoy the sunset down the road🤎🧡💛💙🩵💙🩵💙🩵💙🩵
One of the few places I have rated 5 stars here in DC. Service was great and not overbearing. Everything we ate was awesome -- the cheddar biscuits were underwhelming...but still good...expectations ruined everything. My side blt salad came out promptly after and was large. I initially didnt like the presentation because I had to rip the bacon to distribute it....as I ate it I amcame to appreciate the flavor The balance of flavor was nice . The crabcakes came out shortly after and the flavor was good but the texture was interesting. Entrees arrived shortly after and we both loved our food. I got the salmon...green beans were the veg of the day... they were phenom. She let me try some of her pasta ... the flavors were awesome. I'd recommend this place 10/10.
I really like the atmosphere here and they are always busy! Had the early dinner specials which was a 3-course meal with a few choices for each course! All was very tasty!
Thoroughly enjoyed our experience. They have an amazing deal where you can get three courses for $30 if you dine in between 5-5:30. The food was delicious, and the atmosphere and service were great!
The outdoor seating option was amazing and super dog friendly which is so important for us who are always traveling with our pups. I love this place even more because of their friendliness with dogs! Food and drinks were deliciously tasty. Location was beautiful and the spacious room in between tables gives you privacy for a special night out. Staff was super friendly!
We had a party for 16 in their private room right by the entrance. Everything was perfect! They let us in early to decorate and took excellent care of us the entire evening. Nina did an amazing job of coordinating all of our drinks, starters and entrees and always paying special attention to the couple being celebrated. Drinks and food came out perfectly - and all were delicious! Highly recommend this nice little room for a special event in Door County!
Prompt New Year's Eve seating (with Open Table reservation). Excellent food. They easily accommodated my dairy allergy with pan fried Walleye. Husband loved the lobster and flourless chocolate cake.
We love this place and come here every summer. Great steak and seafood! I love the Caesar salad and the lobster bisque! It’s a beautiful place with good service. It can get pretty loud indoors though. I would recommend eating outside if possible because the garden is beautiful. I love the key lime pie. I highly recommend a reservation because it’s very busy. We have sat comfortably with 8 people so it works for large groups and well as small.
Didn't eat there so can't comment on the food. Was my birthday and wanted steak. Attempted to make reservation at CHOP but no luck. Their website suggested LURE, so I researched it on-line and saw that the menu posted on the website had the same steak as CHOP. Since they are affiliated with one another, I assumed the steak at LURE would be comparable to the steak at CHOP. Once at LURE, I quickly realized the current menu was different than the menu posted on their website and it no longer included the steak I had been looking forward to all day. Not being a big seafood fan, and really excited about this steak, we had a problem. I explained the situation to the hostess and was prepared to cancel our dinner reservation and try our luck somewhere else. She got on the phone and immediately found us a spot at CHOP. We drove down the hill and had a great meal. She took a potentially negative situation and turned it into a positive. I wish I would have gotten her name, because she found a solution and saved the night for us. We all truly appreciate her and what she did.
Absolutely impressed with the quality and flavor of the food! The steak was cooked to perfection: tender, juicy, and full of flavor, and the lobster was phenomenal. I also highly recommend trying the calamari with jalapeños; it’s such a unique and delicious twist. This place is a must-visit for anyone who truly appreciates high-quality food.
Very nice place to take family and friends. Good drink options at the bar as well as small plates. Menu at 5 - 5:30pm has early 3 course set menu. 1st course can include Ceasar salad. 2nd course can be a NY Strip and Key Lime pie or Cherry pie for dessert. Those are just a few options. There are many options as well as their regular menu. Staff are efficientl and friendly. Highly recommend.
This place was awesome! We loved everything we ordered and the service is excellent. The tab is pricey but very worth the quality of the food and drinks. We had two of the whitefish dishes and a sushi roll. Our kids loved the kids filet option with mashed potatoes. We would definitely recommend and go back if we’re in the area again.
Everything about our visit was great. Nina was an awesome server and made the whole experience feel easy and welcoming. The steak was amazing, the Caesar salad was fresh and delicious, and the lava cake was really good. The atmosphere was also fantastic and made it a perfect place to enjoy a meal. I would definitely recommend it and would love to come back.
I was intrigued by the early dinner menu, so my friends and I headed here after viewing the gorgeous colors at Eagle Tower. From the moment we walked in the experience was wonderful. Every person that we interacted with was friendly and smiling. Our server, London, was excellent! We all ordered a $5 happy hour brandy old fashioned and had a hard time selecting our dinner choices because everything sounded great. I had the Caesar salad, salmon, and cherry pie. Every bite was delicious. Everyone was very happy with their meal. I will definitely be back!
We’ve been to Lure Restaurant a few times. This time, the food wasn’t as good as in the past. Both the crab cakes and salmon were a little overcooked and dry, and we also didn’t enjoy the bread. The service and atmosphere are still nice, but overall this visit was not as satisfying as our previous ones. Hoping next time will be more like the great experiences we’ve had before.
7/23/2025. 4 to 5 star experience we stopped for happy hour. We tried the five dollar old-fashioned which was OK. The drinks on the regular menu for $15 were very good. We had some of the happy hour food specials. I’m not sure that it was really a special price because everything was half portion, but it was OK. Everything was plated really nicely. We had the crab nachos which the crab was good with mango salsa and the queso really sold it. I think they would’ve been better on regular nachos instead of the wonton nachos because they were pretty greasy. It was a good helping for $10. We also had the sushi which was four little bites for eight dollars which the kids liked. It looked like there was bar seating right off the bar which the bartender had our 12-year-old sit on the lap of my husband to sit at the bar but should’ve suggested sitting at a possible bar table- it looked like they were also getting happy hour deals at the tables so that’s one reason I gave four stars because we stayed crammed at the bar instead of the table option which would’ve been a lot nicer experience. The tables were open initially when we got there so that would’ve worked out, but then of course they filled up. Also our bartender wasn’t very attentive, but he was pleasant enough. They also had a woman running out food and she was very nice. The atmosphere was very clean and nice and they had other early bird menu pricing which looked pretty good. In the end, they had a budget that was friendly for a wide variety of people that seating at the bar or on the patio or inside and booth, which I like. And the food was nice.
We went here for dinner on a Sunday night after reading really good things online. It did not disappoint, with small areas for improvement. In short, I would highly recommend and advise not to miss out on the crabcakes! For a more detailed review: The food overall was delicious. Some of the best crabcakes I’ve ever had. The seafood, linguine and soy ginger glazed halibut were outstanding. Lobster bisque was the least flavorful, but only in comparison to the other food, so it was still very good. We were excited to try the guava cake as it was something different, but it was very dry and not great. It’s the only thing I can’t recommend. We did try the ice wine and it was delicious. Cocktails were tasty. Atmosphere was nice as it was not overly crowded. Service was very good, but could’ve been more attentive for being an upscale place. Areas for improvement: -presentation on the main courses could have been much improved. The appetizers looked much better. -offer free bread & more seafood in the dishes as everything is already pricey for the area. (We had to order bread as a starter on a $200+ bill for 2 people.) The sea food was delicious, but there was a limited quantity in each of the plates we ordered. -have service pay attention to the little things like refilling water without being asked. -improve or remove the guava cake -Give a full lobster tail not just a half on the seafood pasta for $13 charged
did the early 3-course dinner, total came out to be around ~$38 post tip (they have a 4% surcharge for instability before tip?). nice atmosphere and seating. fish and lobster bisque was really good. key lime pie was interesting?
Good atmosphere. The service was great and food was good. For appetizers we order Mussels and fritters, and the crab nachos. Mussels were fantastic. My husband order the Seafood pan roast and it was AMAZING! I order the Crab Crusted Halibut and it was good but rich.
It was a party of 8 on a Tuesday night. It was my 2nd time there visiting from MA. Food and service was great! Crab nachos for appetizer was amazing! My entree was the crab crusted halibut which was good but my sister in law had the parmasean whitefish that was Wonderful! Tuna was tasty. Overall, a must try for seafood.
Update 7-12-2025: a 4.5. Our server Mia was fantastic - attentive and charming. We loved the crusty bread, Caesar salad, spiced tuna roll, and halibut. The Manhattan's were … meh. >>> A really strong part of the Door County dining scene. Our server was outstanding! We had a good Lure old-fashioned with maple syrup and cardamom bitters. We loved the blackened tuna, Caesar salad, and tuna tacos. The Keylime pie was delicious!
Star ratings. 1 bad. 2 below average. 3 average / neutral. 4 good. 5 excellent. One of the few places that has ever asked how I wanted my scallops cooked. I was super excited as that meant they had a good chef. Food was great as was the service. Cooked oysters were good. Went in end of October so didn't need to make reservations way ahead of time but I would still suggest regardless of what season. Edit. I've been here multiple times over the years figured I'd give it an update. Still a 4. Consistent food, service and pricing.
The food was good and pricey. We had calamari as a appetizer and it was great. The jalapeños and mustard sauce were delicious. For main courses, we had the seafood pan roast and walleye pecandine. Discribed as spicy, the pan roast was not. The walleye was ok but soft. It was described as having toasted pecans but was not toasty. The house special drinks were good. The old fashioned was ok, but the mule was really good. The highlight was the local beer from Peach Barn Farmhouse & Brewery. The Jersey Chaser IPA was really delicious. We split a piece of average cherry pie because they ran out of the guava cake. The waiter was great as was the bartender. Parking or finding a place to park at 7pm was a nightmare so plan ahead or find a place with a real parking lot.
We chose the early bird specials of clam chowder with a 12oz New York strip and a caesar salad with the 4 deep fried butterflied shrimp, plus a kid's chicken tender meal. We weren't impressed with the vegetables or fries but everything else was delicious, including the key lime pie. The establishment is clean and decorated to fit the theme. Our food came quickly and the bathrooms were clean. I prefer the sister restaurant CHOP, but this place has more seafood options and from what was coming from the kitchen, it looked good.
Fantastic vacation location and destination. It’s open later than they say. I’m from WI, so I’m picky about my fish fry. The Whitefish almandine is the right order. Definitely, this restaurant is expensive. Cherry pie with ice cream is a must have.
Food was decent. I had a winter salad with salmon and my husband ordered the seafood pot. He really likes it all and finished my salad too. Great cozy spot with a neat interior.
The food is decent here, however, I can't say it's worth the price. There's definitely the to be expected tourism upcharge, but I wish the seafood and value was just a bit better to justify the prices. I highly recommend reservations. We made reservations for 4:45 (they open at 4:30) and when we arrived the parking lot was nearly full and there was already a line at the host stand. My favorite part of my teriyaki salmon meal was the kimchi fried rice. That was definitely worth the additional charge. The caesar salad was also pretty good. The parmesan crusted whitefish could've been better and the mashed potatoes were very bland. I highly recommend getting the cornbread as an appetizer. The atmosphere is nice with indoor seating having a very modern and upscale atmosphere, and outdoor seating having a nice garden vibe. Overall, this is a decent restaurant in Sister Bay with a nice atmosphere. It's one of the few restaurants in the area that has a parking lot and reservations available, making it convenient for visitors.
We went here since Chop, their sister location was closed. We ordered from the Chop menu selection. First off, I do want to say that the wait staff is fantastic. Our server was incredibly kind, endearing, and continually checked in on us with a smile beaming from ear to ear. For the food portion of our evening, we ordered the bread basket, which ended up being one of our best selections of the entire night. It was crispy on the outside and very soft and warm on the inside. We ordered the 16 oz ribeye and opted for the Chop salad to go with it. The salad was very good. Nothing life changing, but still was a very good salad. Now, when it came to the steak... I'll be honest... it was a total letdown. I had looked forward to this steak our entire trip and was sadly disappointed. It was improperly cooked. The fat on the steak was hard and chewy. We actually ended up having to discard at least 1/3 of the entire steak because it was completely inedible. It got to be so much grizzle that we didn't even finish it. I was so hopeful but this steak truly missed the mark. At $55 my expectations are much higher.
They really need to set up the service! It's not just about the food. We came on a Sunday night and granted it was busy but not jammed and the service was terrible. They never came back to our table for almost 15 min after we were seated. The food was Ok but not for what the restaurant is rated for. They never even offered us desert.
I only chose this place because I was craving seafood and this was my family’s first time visiting the area. The first issue was the tiny parking lot. It took at least 10-15 minutes to find a spot. Very little parking for a tourist spot. I made a reservation and our table was ready right away. We dined outside. The patio area was enclosed with trees and had a very relaxing ambience. I was appreciative of this because the downtown area had some event going on so it was chaotic around the restaurant. We had 2 adults and 2 children in my party. We ordered the crispy bread and potstickers. The potstickers were definitely not fresh. They looked like they came from the freezer section at Costco, and the sauce was just soy sauce. Noodles and co. has better potstickers. The crispy bread was warm and baked just right, very delicious. My daughter and I ordered the lobster tails. The lobster was overcooked and chewy. The butter had no flavor, it was simply melted butter. The red skin mashed potatoes were cold and had no flavor, even after pouring the melted butter on it. The second side was the arugula with a dressing on it. For a high end seafood place, that is the laziest side I have ever seen. Most seafood restaurants offer and roasted veggie like asparagus. I didn’t even attempt to eat the arugula. My significant other and I had the lure old fashioned which tasted like rubbing alcohol. I should’ve known better because the only places that can do an old fashioned correctly, are Wisconsin supper clubs. My SO ordered the beef tips for dinner, which did not look like it should’ve been charged what it was. It looked like beef, plain gravy and the unseasoned mashed potatoes again. My other daughter ordered buttered noodles from the kids menu, which is just that nothing special. For $240, I expected melt in your mouth food and was so underwhelmed it was disappointing. This is a restaurant in such a beautiful area and they have mediocre food at best. The positives were the service. The waiter was very attentive and the food came out quickly. I don’t understand all the high reviews stating the food is good. Maybe I ordered the wrong dishes, but if I’m ever in the area again I won’t be coming back.
The restaurant was ok, our server never greeted us instead just asked what we wanted. We ordered crab encrusted halibut and it was super dry. ($45) We told our server it was dry and he said "you want to order something else, the kitchen isn't busy". I asked for the same thing done correctly. He was foreign, clearly not fluent in English--I don't know why he would be hired for serving. We got our halibut and it was less dry but frankly, I could have done better at home. The martinis were pretty good though. But $100+ for the meal, I expected much better service and food.
