Tip: Don't be discouraged by the exterior; it's a hole-in-the-wall worth stopping at for the food. Check if they have the chicken and biscuits!

Love little roadside places. We stopped on our way home after a day of wine tasting. Service was excellent & love the decor. They were out of the chicken & biscuits ☹️ but the chicken strip basket & Nutella milkshake was very tasty
LOVE! The damn cutest little lunch spot there ever was and affordable as hell, definitely worth the stop or the trip! I like getting the Chicken Biscuit #1 or #2 for just $6 and so delicious(those prices are unheard of) ,the service is always great and the space is super photogenic, (looks great on the gram!) hella recommend !!!
Hey! Great stop on our trip to Sacramento! Glad we read the fine reviews here ok Google. We stopped spontaneously - and weren't disappointed! 🤩 Great chicken, nice guys, and even the restrooms were perfect. Great stay, greetings from the chaotic family from Germany. 😉
So we were looking for a quick and light lunch as we had dinner plans and did not want to spoil our appetite. This is a roadside dive, with some indoor seating and a patio, nothing to look at. But the FOOD was Excellent and one meal was plenty for us to share. Got the Catfish and fries, with Cole slaw. The Root Beer I ordered was Craft Brewed, better than most too!
It’s been a while since I was here, but this is a 5/5 spot in the middle of nowhere. The chicken sandwiches are tasty, the fries are some of the best, and the sides are very unique. Definitely worth a visit if you’re visiting Sonoma!
You can tell things are made fresh and from scratch. The hush puppies are fantastic, but they're not what most places offer. Instead, the batter is much lighter in texture and doesn't have a heavy grease feeling. No one ingredient dominates, so you can really taste everything, including what I think are mild pickled jalapenos. The pimento cheese on the fried chicken sandwich #2 is also delicious.
You don't need me to tell you that you need to stop...but grabbing a quick bite shortly before closing was the ticket! I love this fried chicken and their hushpuppies that I promised myself that if I could park I'd stop. I didn't realize it was close to closing so I grabbed a bit of everything, had a few bites, then headed back on the road with fragrant to go boxes!
Don’t let the looks from the outside stop you from stopping. This is a definitive hole in the wall that is WORTH A STOP. I was recently in the area and my group decided to stop and it was the best decision we made on this trip. The chicken was moist, delicious, fresh and makes me want more. Everything is reasonably priced, much better priced than other restaurants. They have a kids menu that won’t break the bank. I had the chicken sandwich and it is in the top of the list for chicken sandwiches. It is a hearty chicken breast battered and fried with a perfect blend of spices. It also came with a potato salad that was delicious. They have a great beer tap list. Sit back and enjoy a beer with your chicken. If you are in the area wine tasting, and need something to soak up the alcohol. You need their fried chicken. It won’t disappoint. Even if you weren’t drinking alcohol, it won’t disappoint, I can confidently say that, as I was the DD of the group. The hardest part might be finding a parking spot as the parking lot quickly filled up when I was there. You wouldn’t think it from the outside driving by.
Unsuspecting luncheonette on the side of the road in wine country. The quality of the food doesn’t match what you would expect. Some of the best fried chicken I’ve ever had. Breading and crunch was great and the chicken was not dried out. The chicken biscuit (#1 with honey) was amazing. Sweet and savory was a great combination. Mac n cheese was creamy and the Mac was not over cooked. I would consider this Bay Area average prices with most plates are around $14ish dollars. Great value for what you get.
I stopped by on my way to the coast and I was pleased that Lou's Lunchenette was open for business. I ordered the cheeseburger and deviled eggs today and it was an outstanding choice. The deviled eggs are second to none. Of course the cheeseburger was very tasty and was prepared very quickly. The weather was perfect for Sonoma so I enjoyed lunch outside at the picnic tables which are shaded. Plenty of parking out front and on the side and clean restrooms. I will be back!

What a pleasant stop today at Lou’s Luncheonette, I ordered the deviled eggs for an appetizer and the 1/2 fried chicken for lunch. It was terrific. The potato salad was really good and the biscuit was as good as I have ever had.
Being a local to Sonoma options are vast but our go to place is Lou’s. We go often and it always hits the spot. We’ve tried most of the menu and can’t be disappointed with any dishes. My favorite menu item would be the Nashville chicken hot. It has great flavor and the chicken is always juicy! A side of crinkle fries and cold Coke😎. Service is great being greeted at the door and spending time outside enjoying food. The goats are a plus
Always the right choice for lunch. These guys do some delicious authentic Nashville style fried chicken. They feature Coca Cola in glass bottles, old Americana signs and decor, and indoor/outdoor dining. Couldn’t recommend higher!
If you happen to be on that american road trip and looking to live the American Diner experience for a moment, this is the place to be. Avoid going to the generic soulless corporate establishment where the food will only taste like a greasy synthetic cardboard. This little diner may help you discover or even remind you what a good burger and shake is supposed to taste like. We all wish there were more options like this. The price is well worth the memories you end up taking home to share with your friends.
A really honest, old-fashioned diner vibe. Nothing fancy but perfect when you're in the mood for a great burger or chicken & fries. Cool music always playing in the garden and playthings outside for kids. Dog friendly too!

Good place to bring the grand kids as they can feed goats and then eat some seriously good grub. Wash their hands first, please. Plus 1 for the fried onions burger. Also, The onion rings appear hand cut and battered! Crazy.
Cute little roadside stop. I've never done their breakfast but I'm obsessed with the fried chicken there, and I've heard the burgers don't disappoint! Great place for lunch if you're wine tasting in Sonoma. Cute, family friendly, tasty food, indoor and outdoor seating. Casual dining - ypu order at the counter they give you a pager so you know when your food is ready. Highly recommend if you like fried chicken, burgers, and diner style breakfast.💜
Grabbed a burger in between wine tasting Appointments. Had the Onion burger. Small patty good but nothing special. Lots of old stuff inside to check out. This was my first visit and would return.
I would skip the burger next time (a bit too gristly for me). The fries were very good, and the chicken sandwich was good. We both really liked the potato salad, very pickle-forward. Loved the choice of sparkling wine at this roadside diner. Not sure why they changed the name several times, but it was worth a stop.
Down-home country cooking, sitting next to a goat farm, perfect.

Have driven by this place many times in my life in the Bay area. I was just looking for lunch and then I saw Lou's. I thought why not give it a try. Got a burger and a shake, both were great.
The beer is good but would be better in glass! The food is mediocre at best. We had a burger, Lou’s Style, it was tasteless, with the exception of the pickles. The fries tasted like they were made from frozen & the kale caesar was terrible….extremely salty, boring and too much kale that wasn’t properly prepared. We won’t be back :( Sure miss the old Fremont Diner!
They changed the menu after Aug 2025 and completely removed the bone-in Nashville Hot Chicken. I've been a regular patron here since 2019 when it was still Boxcar Fried Chicken, before they changed name to Lou's. They had the best fried chicken for many miles and this is a huge loss to the community. Unfortunate decision by management and one that I hope they reverse. The Nashville burger was okay as a standalone item, but nowhere close to a replacement for the bone-in fried chicken experience. Sad to say, I will patronize a different diner during my regular Sonoma wine tasting trips until they bring the bone-in chicken back.

I loved Lou’s but once they changed their menu everything went downhill. Got a to-go order today since my partner use to love their Nashville Chicken Sandwich. Wanted to try something else so he got some wings sucks to say that he got very sick afterwards. I still got the Nashville Chicken Sandwich since it use to be one of my biggest craving while being pregnant, I could not finish it. Sandwich tasted like it was rotisserie chicken just fried up did not taste like it use to. Super disappointed sad to say we will not be going back.
