Farmstead in St. Helena made for a beautiful Valentine’s Day dining experience. We made our reservation a few days prior and arrived a little early. After checking in with a friendly host, we were seated right away, which set a lovely tone for the afternoon. From start to finish, the staff was warm and welcoming. Our server in particular was wonderful—attentive without being overbearing and genuinely helpful throughout the meal. To start, we ordered a whiskey tasting flight and a glass of Cabernet Sauvignon, which paired perfectly with what was to come. For food, we went with the BBQ ribs and a burger, and both were fantastic. The ribs were true fall-off-the-bone—moist, tender, and seasoned just right. They had a slightly crunchy outer layer that added great texture, while the BBQ sauce was light yet still packed with flavor. The coleslaw on the side was crisp, refreshing, and a perfect complement. The burger was equally satisfying—the bun fluffy and soft, the patty thick, juicy, and cooked beautifully. Beyond the food, the ambiance was cozy and picturesque, ideal for a special occasion. I loved that there were areas to walk around outside, including a garden that appears to supply vegetables for the restaurant, adding to the farm-to-table charm. Overall, it was a romantic, delicious, and memorable Valentine’s Day at Farmstead—an experience we’d happily repeat.

To say this was the best meal of our trip would be an understatement. We stopped here for lunch on a rainy day and we’re so happy we did. We ordered specials - shoshito peppers and a 7oz steak - as well as a pulled pork sandwich. The pulled pork sandwich was one of the best we’ve ever had, and the steak and peppers were both cooked perfectly. Add in the setting of a beautiful refurbished barn and you’re in for a treat. Make the drive up the valley and come to Farmstead

I have been to Farmstead in everything from my wedding dress to my pajamas (recovering from surgery). I know most of the servers by name and they treat me so well! They organized my wedding dinner during the covid pandemic, made special seating available for me when I had my hip replacement and everything in between. The food is divine as always and it is a local favorite of ours. The bartenders are fantastic and the drinks are delicious.

Phenomenal meal for lunch. We arrived late from a wine tasting and had a limited time before our next tasting. Bri was our server and she ensured our food came out quickly and we had plenty of time to eat. The sole dish with cardamom carrot purée was outstanding. The amount of fresh vegetables on the plate with bright, beautiful flavors throughout was incredible. My husband loved his crab roll and the Bay Area cheese plate was equally wonderful. Wish we came for dinner because I’m sure it’s excellent. But glad we made a visit. If I could give out Michelin stars, this would get mine.

Farmstead at Long Meadow Ranch was honestly the best food we’ve ever had. Everything was so fresh, full of flavor, and totally unique. You can really taste the quality and farm-to-table difference. We ordered the ham sandwiches and shishito peppers to start, then had the chicken entrée and pork chop for dinner. Every bite was incredible, and the chocolate silk pie for dessert was the perfect ending. We were bragging about this place to people on our wine tour the next day. Can’t wait to come back next time we’re in Napa!

My husband and I are total foodies and appreciate quality, flavorful dishes and this place is an easy 10/10. We’ve now dined here twice while passing through, and this time we actually made the drive just to eat here. We’ve eaten at plenty of Michelin-star restaurants, but this spot holds its own, the quality, depth of flavor, and richness are on another level. You don’t leave disappointed, you leave full, happy, and wishing you had room for more because everything is just that finger-licking good. I think my husband said, “This is so good,” at least ten times! We will definitely be regulars. We live in Sacramento but heard we need to go for tacos and fried chicken during the weekday! See you soon. Brittney and Z Jordan Steichen

Lovely outdoor area for lunchtime dining. Food was fantastic. Get the brick chicken! You will NOT be disappointed. It was so tender and well flavored with beautiful, fresh vegetables. My husband said his flank steak was just OK and he had major food envy of my chicken dish. Mexican street corn appetizer was a delight as well!

Sometimes I want to pinch myself with all the wonderful food experiences we have and this one did not disappoint! My partner seems to find the BEST places! The ambiance is casual and fun, with flowers and vining decor. We shared the deviled eggs, beet salad, meatballs, macaroni and cheese and chicken dinner amongst four of us, with plenty left over. The service was top notch making the over all experience great!

I have been coming to Farmstead 3-4 times a year for several years now and the food & service are always excellent. It’s worth the drive from San Francisco. However, last night’s service exceeded their normal level of quality. Chris was our waiter (for the first time in all my visits), and four of us were dining there to celebrate my friend’s birthday. Chris made the dinner very special with his wonderful sense of humor, kindness, and birthday surprises! He was very knowledgeable about the menu and his recommendations were spot on. Three of us ordered the pork chop and one had the prime rib, which was one of the day’s specials. The Farmstead porkchop is sole reason I cannot fully commit to vegetarianism, and this particular one was one of the best we’ve ever had at Farmstead. We had so many laughs and a fantastic meal, and we would like to thank Chris for his role in making our evening memorable and special! My friend forgot her water bottle at the table, and I found Chris running around the parking lot trying to find us to return it. I happened to be on my way back in because I had accidentally walked off with one of their napkins. A big thank you to Chris for being an amazing waiter and person! Another thank you to Farmstead for being a consistently fantastic restaurant that focuses on sustainability and high quality food. You are still our favorite restaurant in the Napa Valley!

I love this place. The chicken wings are the best. They are smoky and has the Alabama white sauce on them. It has a nice creamy vinegar spice flavor. I also always order their deviled eggs and the mini ham sandwiches. The roasted beet salad made me start liking beets! After lunch we like taking a little stroll through their garden.

Our lunch here was EXCELLENT! Molly did an outstanding job explaining all the specials, as well as other items on the menu to us in such a way we felt like we definitely needed to order them to try for ourselves. We started with a special veggie appetizer of that day, their grilled squash which was “cured” prior to grilling. I don’t like squash at all, but I really liked this! Next up was fried chicken which came with an outstanding cole slaw! The fried chicken was tender, though not the best we’ve had (that would be Ad Hoc’s fried chicken), it was pretty good. Their pulled pork sandwich was incredible and the potato salad that came with it was outstanding! Save room for dessert… they have a nice list of some great options! The day we visited it was beautiful and the weather was mild right when they opened, which was when we arrived, so we sat in their garden. Such a beautiful area with sculpted apple trees creating a natural border. We’ll definitely return on our next trip out here, but next time we’ll come for dinner, as I’m sure that’s even more amazing than lunch.

Every single dish we had was impeccable! Zero notes for anything. Certainly the best deviled eggs I’ve had. Usually I feel a bit guilty about ordering such an easy to make at home dish, but theirs was outstanding. Plus, the pickled cucumber and onions they offer with the dish (as well as others) are out of this world. The chicken wings are killer! The white sauce is so perfect. And for such a small wing, they feel quite meaty. Salad was a very refreshing dish in the very dry heat. The dish was balanced so well. Meatballs hit a home run with their zatar and fresh tomato sauce. And the crab roll, phenomenal — buttery, crispy, soft. Truly a perfect combo with the added acidity of lemon. Plus, the paired fries were fried to perfection.

Exceptional lunch experience with great food, service, atmosphere, and wine. Everything was so fresh and full of flavor. Deviled eggs, cheddar biscuits, California Arborio Rice, heirloom tomatoes, and beignets were favorites with our group.

Farm-to-table freshness, and the food's amazing! Killer salads, awesome pickles, the house smoked meats are great. That beef? Just like I eaten in Spain! Different beef flavors than most American cow. The desserts and atmosphere are fantastic.

Oct 2025 Update: Overall 4.6 stars Food: 4 Stars Service: 5 Stars Ambiance: 5 Stars We've returned because of our last visit. High lights: Service is as good as usual, manager Noah was very dedicated to quality assurance, he appreciated our feedback as we pointed out that the soggy fries might be affected by low temp oil. Starter- Meatballs - Beautifully fresh and properly seasoned, it reminds me of my grandmother's meatball. Oyster: Pacifica oyster, it's on the more meatier and fishy side (not a bad thing), I personally prefer blue point for its 'brininess'. Entrees Fantastic brick cooked chicken! Juicy, tender with nice browning of the skin, paired with corn-based light yet creamy sauce that brings out the sweet natural flavor of the meat- 10/10. Crab roll - crab meat is fresh and the brioche bun was buttery, sweet, & toasted to perfection. The sweet cream with parsley truly comolements the fresh flavor of the crab. Down side is that fries were soggy/limp twice in a row due to fryer malfunctioning. Plating was not consistent, the fries were piled on top of the pickles, making them luke warm. 6.5/10 Dessert Beignets - beautiful, but could shine more if the fryer wasn't malfunctioning. Bourbon pairing sauce adds another layer of delicate flavor - I even added it to my Macchiato 😘. We felt very welcomed - saw Erica again wbi said hi to us. You folks are so lovely! We'll return! __________ This is one of the 20 or so restaurants on my list that I can give a whole-hearted 5 star in all aspects to. The food is very fresh, pricing HIGHLY reasonable for the quality and pirtion size. Our server Erica, is such a genuine humanbeing. Enjoyed our dinner here and will come back over and over again!

Great experience at Farmstead! The food was fresh, flavorful, and clearly farm-to-table. You can really taste the quality in every dish. The place itself is super cute—rustic charm with a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere. Definitely worth a stop if you’re in the area and looking for a delicious, locally-sourced meal.

Our server Joshua did an outstanding job at taking care of us. The wife was here for a lunch business meeting a few months ago and it made a lasting impression on her that we had we had to do a date night here. The restaurant has a beautiful layout, and cozy atmosphere. Definitely a place to bring friends to that have not been to Napa Valley. Food selection was wonderful! Everything that we order was fresh and tasted amazing. The only problem we had was we didn’t have a big enough stomach to handle all the food. Highly recommended. Will go back to see the next seasons of ingredients that will be coming in soon. And seeing what dishes the very talented chefs come up with.

We had an amazing anniversary dinner at Farmstead!! The food was so fresh and locally grown with incredible flavor. Our server Hannah went above and beyond to create a very special anniversary for us with surprise champagne and ice cream.

Came here to celebrate a b-day and it did not disappoint. The ambience is spectacular. Service in general was superb. Food was super good. Grids, M&C and ribs were delicious and would highly recommend. They brought us an ice cream to celebrate the b-day person. Was super generous and appreciated. The cocktails could be a bit better. It seems bartenders are cutting corners and that is reflected in the poor quality of the cocktails. Saw how they prepared an old fashioned and was not proper which resulted in a mediocre cocktails. Other than that, the rest of the experience was above expectations and therefore the 5 stars reviews.

The food's delicious, and the service is super friendly and nice. They're also quick. I totally recommend this place.

Nice outdoor patio seating also has live music, gas heaters, and a row of bushes forming a living wall. The SOLE white fish was delicate and served stacked on top of puréed carrots and wilted Swiss Chard. It also came with yellow fingerling potatoes. Micro greens were the finishing touch. I also had a side order of cheddar biscuits. The leftovers were good for breakfast! My friend had the salad with sliced apples, chili pepitos , chicken & a green goddess dressing (buttermilk). I would return here.

E

Friendly staff. Had a bit of a wait for our reservation but we were able to stand in the shade under some mist. We were slightly close to outdoor diners. The cut of the day was the flat iron which was cut well and came with an interesting sauce. Fries were a bit soggy. I really enjoyed the other sides including the cheddar biscuits and broccolini. The brick cooked chicken was a huge portion and moist. Dungeness crab sandwich was good though it looked like a split top but was sliced bread.

T
Thian Jong

We came here for brunch. It was incredible! The food is delicious, the service is just right and the outdoor seating during summer time is perfect!

They were able to accommodate 6 of us on short notice for dinner. The property is lovely, with redwoods, fruit trees, a garden, and more. We would love to come back and try the wine tasting and pizza during the day.

We have gone a few times for special occasions. Food, drink and atmosphere are all outstanding. Highly recommend the fig old fashioned, deviled eggs and barrata.

Started with the ham sandwiches with peeper jelly. SO good. And the deviled eggs, which were also tasty. Then the pork chop and chicken. Both were delicious. The polenta with the pork chop was great, as were the vegetables that came with the chicken. Good drinks too. Enjoyed the Blantons flight and the old fashioned was incredible.

Came in for lunch. Wow! So wonderful, this is my new favorite restaurant in the Napa area. Our waiter was Alex, one of the nicest and helpful waiters I have come across in a long time. The atmosphere and menu were perfect for use. The grilled artichokes were perfectly seasoned and cooked. The beets were a perfect complement with the artichokes which brought out the natural sweetness of the beets. The crab roll had the right amount of sauce and seasoning. The artichokes also brought out the sweetness from the salad. The roll for the crab was a big hit. We’re a bit older and like to share (we don’t eat as much as we did before). They had no problem with our sharing everything. I will definitely add this restaurant to my Napa visit list, when I’m in the area.

The ham and cheese biscuit starter is really good, so is the heirloom tomato salad when they have it on special - honestly, I've never had a dish I didn't like here. Service is always friendly and attentive. It's a "must" for us whenever we're in St. Helena.

Everything was amazing. The service provided by Adrian was friendly and engaging. He was great. The ambiance was also very nice. Loved the rustic decore. And the food, wow! Every item we had was delicious. Absolutely no complaints. The oysters, heirloom tomatoes, shisito peppers and cheddar biscuits were an amazing start to our fabulous meal. We shared the Wednesday BBQ special, burger, pork chop and sole. The desserts was phenomenal too. We had the chocolate pudding dessert and beignets, delicious. Would definitely return

Very nice atmosphere restaurant and decent service. We loved all our appetizers. The wine was very good. The entrees and desserts, some were good and some were ok.

This place was suggested by the brewer at Mad Fritz. It did not disappoint. Our server Brie was amazing. Atmosphere was arie and bright. The time spent at Farmstead was an excellent place to cap off the last day in California.

C

Ordered the pan-seared sole, and it made my taste buds happy. Sarah, our server had great suggestions, was attentive, and very pleasant. The atmosphere was perfect. And I'm not sure how, but it seemed they even made the weather perfect for outdoor eating just for our dining pleasure.

We celebrated two birthdays at this restaurant and it was a wonderful experience! From the moment we walked in, we were impressed by the beautiful garden setting and elegant ambiance. Our large group was comfortably accommodated in a private room, which added a special touch to the occasion. The service was impeccable throughout the evening. The staff was attentive, friendly, and went above and beyond to make our celebration memorable. The food was absolutely delicious, with each dish beautifully presented and bursting with flavor. Everyone in our group raved about their meals. Overall, this restaurant exceeded our expectations in every way. It's the perfect place for a special occasion or simply a lovely dinner out. We can't wait to return!

I had some family out of the country visit and this restaurant completely blew all of their expectations out of the water. Everything was cooked to perfection, with the grilled trout completely stealing the spotlight. Don’t get me wrong, the ribs were fantastic, as well as the steak. But the trout was on a completely different level. Highly recommend this dish to EVERYONE. The sides were delicious as well, complimenting everything. We had also ordered a bottle of their in-house sparkling wine and that was fantastic. It was just as good as the champagne we brought! If you’re going to Napa, I highly recommend this place. Truly a world-class experience. Bravo! Also, don’t even worry if you are seated outside. It was very cold the evening we were there but their outdoor seating in the back is completely insulated with heaters at each table. Well done!

We really liked Farmstead on a trip in June. We had a special appetizer - the grilled squash. For someone who doesn’t like squash at all, it was the best vegetable dish I’ve had in a long time. Then we had the salad with chicken, and the sole, for entrees. Quality was high, and quantity was higher. These are real meals in a valley filled with tiny bites. Dessert was the chocolate cream pie, and it did not disappoint. The vibe was unique: understated western/cowboy mixed with Napa sophistication. The prices indicate a fancier restaurant, but feel free to come casual.

This restaurant was highly recommended by so many people I spoke to around St. Helena, so I had to come here. The restaurant itself had a modern rustic vibe and feels perfectly Napa Valley. I love the farm-to-table concept and it really shows here. The ingredients are sourced locally, fresh, and thoughtfully prepared. The service was excellent. My waiter was warm and knowledgeable. I ordered based on recommendations, but honestly, I don’t think you can go wrong with anything on the menu. Mini Ham Sandwiches - These mini sandwiches are made with cheddar biscuits. The pepper jelly went well with the biscuit and ham, adding a nice hot, sweet and savory balance. Grass-fed Beef Tartare - Very fresh, well-seasoned and good balance of richness and brightness. The sweet and sour pickles on the side were a nice contrast and added extra texture. Wood Grilled Heritage Pork Chop - Delicious, juicy and full of flavor. Cooked well and hearty without feeling heavy. Plancha Seared Local Petrale Sole - The sole was tender and paired with a light, creamy sauce. The carrot puree and all the vegetables were great and complemented the fish well.

Chris, our server, was amazing. One of the best servers I have encountered and we dine out a lot as my husband is in sales for the wine industry. He was kind, funny, attentive, and working hard throughout the night but also incredibly pleasant to be around. Very engaging. Farmstead is a great time, the food is delicious, and the cocktails last night were beautifully done. This is one of our favorite restaurants for a reason. You won’t be disappointed. Sit outside in the orchard if you can when they have the tent up (they have heat out there) or in the summer. It’s the best!

We came in late on Sunday night but we’re still able to snag our first choice on the menu. Salads, the ribs, side of mac and cheese were all excellent. The lemon pie special was a standout. Our waiter (a gentleman from Turkey) was knowledgeable, attentive and personable. Keep up the great work!

K
Karen L. Fisher

Excellent! The caramelized beet salad and coleslaw are dishes you don’t want to miss. The beet salad is warm with goat cheese and greens and the coleslaw has granny smith apples in it. Yummy! I ordered the brick cooked chicken with cannelloni beans and kale. I can’t discern what I liked the best, the chicken or the beans, both being expertly cooked. The texture of the beans were very creamy. Not only is the food delicious and expertly prepared, but the staff are welcoming and accommodating. So go right now!

Farmstead at Long Meadow Ranch is an exceptional dining experience that perfectly embodies the Napa Valley spirit of fresh, local ingredients. The atmosphere is warm, inviting, and truly makes you feel connected to the source of the food. While every dish we tried was fantastic, the Burrata appetizer was the absolute highlight of the meal. Seriously, I cannot recommend it highly enough. The cheese was incredibly fresh and creamy, perfectly paired with the seasonal accompaniments (ours had delicious grilled peaches/tomatoes) and crusty bread. It set a high bar for the rest of the meal and was easily one of the best appetizers I’ve ever had. The service was attentive and knowledgeable, and the entire dining flow was relaxed and enjoyable. Whether you're stopping by for a full dinner or just a quick bite and a glass of wine, make sure you order the Burrata—it's unforgettable! We can't wait to return.

This restaurant is amazing! Bond is, without a doubt, the best waiter I have ever had. He was so accommodating to me and my girl for our anniversary dinner. Also, the staff filled out and signed an anniversary card for us! It brought a smile to both of our faces and helped make tonight the best one during our Napa Valley visit. We will be back again, and will recommend to all our friends in the area. Thanks again, bond!

A rare restaurant that gets every single aspect of dining right - a beautiful setting, an exceptional menu, and the best of the best staff. We enjoyed our evening! Staff were so kind, courteous, attentive, and went above and beyond to make our evening memorable. The waiter ended our evening with a scoop of ice cream for our toddler - AND a puppet show for him! Definitely the highlight of his day. We all had fantastic meals and would go out of our way to come back here again.

Farmstead at Long Meadow Ranch is a very popular spot in St. Helena, known for its farm-to-table menu with fresh, seasonal ingredients. Reservations: Highly recommended. We arrived early but weren’t seated until our exact reservation time. Parking: There is a decent-sized lot, but it fills up quickly, so allow extra time to find a spot. Atmosphere: Casual and lively, with the option to sit outdoors. There’s also a garden on site where they grow their own produce. Food: The grass-fed beef tartare was fresh and delicious, especially with the sourdough bread. The steak frites was good overall, though a bit overcooked. Overall, a solid dining experience and worth visiting if you’re in Napa Valley.

Came here for dinner recently. Great atmosphere. Our server was very attentive and made sure we were taken care of. It was a good experience except for one thing. We got sat at a table near the front and when the sun was low enough in the window, it shone right into our eyes, and the restaurant doesn't have shades on the windows. They said the sun goes down quickly, but it wasn't quickly enough for us. The food was excellent. Two of us ordered the petrale sole and the other ordered the steak frites. For dessert we ordered the beignets, which were so warm and came with a chocolate dipping sauce.

T
Tareq Barakzoy

Great food and decent service. The place is slightly overpriced. The grounds are pretty. The interior is very casual. I had a burger medium rare which was cooked perfectly. The potatoes were not greasy. The ketchup as sauces were all home made. The mayo has a bit of horseradish. The potato salad is excellent.

A
Amir Hermelin

The food is really great - highly recommend the ribs! Even though they're beef ribs and not pork, they fall off the bone with a delicious sauce. The cheese and charcuterie area bit skimpy for 4 ppl. Be prepared as the food selection is a little light - they only serve what they grow. So for example the burger was great but didn't come with tomatoes. Plenty of parking.

Kelsey was our waitress, she provided exceptional service during our dinner here!! We felt right at home solely because of her genuine hospitality and kindness to everyone at the table! We ordered the Cheddar Biscuits, Deviled Eggs, Grass-Fed Meatballs and the Wood Grilled Heritage Pork chop. The Deviled Eggs, Biscuits and Meatballs were delicious and well worth getting! The Pork Chop was sadly not the best we’ve had and it came with a hefty price tag in our opinion. Overall the food was great but we left believing that it was overpriced for the experience. We understand that St. Helena already asks a high price tag at restaurants, but we had hoped for an exceptional experience at Farmstead to match that. We visited Farmstead at Long Meadow Ranch at the end of 2024.

Came here a few times and they never disappoint! Food was good, the atmosphere was great with enough space for kiddos to roam around, and parking is pretty easy to find. Pork sandwich, beet salads, and cheddar biscuits were our favorites. And steak was not a bad idea at all!

K
Kungfu Kenny

The food is generally good, but nothing stands out besides the amazing french fries. The service was slightly slow, and our waiter did not check on or look at our table for about 20 minutes after serving us our food. I was giving the awkward half hand wave a couple of times.) I ended up walking up to the other servers/waiters twice to ask for more water and ketchup.

N
Nattan Jiraratthakorn

Tasteless overpriced food with undercooked burger. Order it medium but the meat is still cold inside. Atmosphere is nice but beside that there is nothing good about this place
