Lucky Chinese Food is a family-owned restaurant known for its affordable prices, large portions, and friendly service. The pho and spring rolls are highly recommended. Be prepared for potential wait times during busy periods.
Tip: Be patient, as it's often run by a husband and wife team. The wait is usually worth it due to the delicious and affordable food.
Double Bamboo has got to be one of the quaintest Vietnamese/Thai restaurants in OC. The family that runs it works very hard to keep all the classics on the menu. My picky family members always find something they enjoy. Classic No Questions Asked Pho. Wonderful fried rice, appetizers, probably the best Strawberry Smoothie in OC. Recently this restaurant was vandalized while the owners were visiting their family in Asia. Windows were broken into, chairs tables smashed. I have no idea why someone would do this. Please send good vibes their way. If they are able to open again, please send them your business!
I usually get the #8 Pho Double Bamboo special and pork spring rolls. When I want something light at night I'll order 2 or 3 orders of Spring rolls (2 rolls per order). Husband and wife owned and they are super nice.
I have been stopping by this place each day after work for the last two weeks. My family has been enjoying their Pho and Tom Ka. Very well priced menu. I recommend this place to anyone looking for delicious Vietnamese and Thai food. The restaurant is also very clean, and the staff very attentive to your needs.
Ong cant believe I've never left a review. This place is amazing. My co worker and I always talk about local restaurants and while she does like mai ethai or something just around the corner I prefer this location. The quantity and quality are exceptional in my opinion. Plus they're still open for take out!! Please come here the food is the bomb.
Love that it's a family owned place. The owner and employees are very friendly and kind. The food tastes delicious. Definitely enjoy coming here. Best place to have pho. 👍👍👍
Best pho ive had since we moved back to CA, and we've tried a lot of places. The prices are also unbeatable, only 6.75 for a large pho! And the staff is soo friendly and the service is quick. Couldnt ask for more!
Best Food & Service Been Be Coming Here For Years
Owners are always so accommodating and pleasant. Good food with lots of choices to keep us coming back.
Love the Pho here. Place is spacious and clean. Food is delicious and the owners are nice people. Definitely a recommendation.
The owners are friendly wonderful people. Food is always fresh and tasty. Never disappointed. Highly recommended.
Absolutely luv this restaurant the husband wife team cook up amazing fresh delicious food !!!
My favorite restaurant! All the food is amazing and very clean. Everyone there is so nice and quick!
10/10 🤩 so flavorful, amazing prices, literally so good, two larges for less than $15 is an absolute steal imho 😰 service is GREAT, please tip your server or front of house!!!
Great menu ...husband and wife team operating the restaurant..food selection is great!
My boyfriend and I keep coming back because they have great prices and service. The rare steak and brisket pho is great.
An honest mom and pop shop that deserves more love. The lady who works here is nice. The food is delicious, homey, and consistent in taste every time we stop by. I always get the beef meatball pho here. You can easily eat here without breaking the bank. It’s unbelievable; you can have a filling meal for two with 3 dishes under $30. Where can you find prices like that during these times? A must try!
This place is all-around amazing and a local gem. The husband and wife team do everything here alone usually so plan to have patience. Always worth any wait but usually the wait is not unreasonable but usually no wait really at all. They take a vacation once a year for a couple a weeks and signage is posted. Otherwise always consistent quality and service!
Family owned and operated. High value restaurant, meaning the price you pay for what you get, is very good. If you want the very best food with huge portions, then this is not the place, but you'd pay double the price for the very best with huge portions as well. It's in a strip center so the decor is simple. I give it a 5- rating. Good Value!!
Great food at crazy low prices.
Do yourself a favor and make time to visit this cozy restaurant. The staff is very focused on their customers. Our drinks came out right away along with our yummy appetizers. Our soups were delicious with the rice. Everything is chopped up fresh. Nothing tasted like it was frozen and unthawed. I recommend this place to anyone who wants a quiet atmosphere and good service.
Excellent Pho 🍜 Very tasty, hot and the meats were delicious. Their combo with added vegitable was perfect. My kids enjoyed it and ate everything on their plate. Add the chicken fried rice as a side you won't be disappointed.
Delicious food! We ordered the pad thai and green curry chicken. The portion sizes were good and the taste was authentic. Great prices, clean restaurant and friendly service. Highly recommend and will be going back.
Large Special Pho. Plenty of parking. Greeted and sat down immediately. Got my soup fast! SUPER AFFORDABLE PRICES. LARGE PORTIONS. Broth is hot and is absolutely delicious!! Definitely coming back to try other foods next time! If you’re looking for fast service and great food that won’t break the bank, don’t look elsewhere! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Great great great food and even better it's family owed. I'm all about supporting small businesses. Very nice people too. My first time but Not my last
Amazing restaurant, the owner is very friendly and attentive. we had a few dishes that we tried and overall most tasted Amazing only complaint is about the beef phò it felt raw and tender sort of like eating rubber not sure if it wasn't cooked all the way or if it's a different meat but overall spring rolls and the beef sticks tasted amazing I highly recommend this establishment for anyone in the area it's a must try
My family and I walked in at around 3:30 so the restaurant was empty. The lady was super attentive and had a cheerful attitude. The coffee there was great but the pho was alright, I can’t complain since the price is the cheapest I have seen for the quantity of food you get. This place is nicely decorated too!
I have been coming here for years, ever since I was a kid. Their prices for Pho and other Entreés is low compared to others and taste great! The atmosphere most days is cozy and quiet which is perfect to relax with a hot Pho and tea. I Highly recommend. Can't beat the prices and good food!
Amazing prices! As if inflation never hit this place!will definitely be coming back. Pho is good, mango drink is good
The food is delicious and you can't beat the prices. Will definitely continue coming here!!

A lot of great food options at very affordable prices. Food is made fresh and ready fast, and the quality is consistently good. I’ve been coming here for a few years and it never disappoints. Great friendly service as well. Highly recommend!
The food is amazing, there's no wait, immediate seating, I love being a loyal customer and it brings joy to me whenever my family and I go. It's comfort food.
I really love this place and the service was amazing and other pho places are really good but this place was just amazing and perfect good of heat the food was not too cold or too hot and it was so good and the number one pho with brisket is my favorite if you haven’t tried it you should I personally love this place if you haven’t tried this place you should.
Found this family-owned spot on TikTok — it was packed, so the wait was long, but totally worth it. ☺️👍🏼 The food was tasty and affordable, and the mango sticky rice was so good. 😋 Happy to support a hardworking local fam! They were very nice and welcoming 🩷
First visit. I had pork spring rolls with peanut sauce and chicken pho. The spring rolls exceeded my expectations. They were bigger and stuffed with noodles and ample tasty pork. The pho was lovely. Full of meat and veggies, and the broth perfect. Surprisingly affordable too. I will return to try more of the menu
True to their price $8-$10 for most of their dishes, including all pho & entree plates! Had a chance to try both their pho & a plate of padseew!

I personally didn’t like the food. It was clean for the most part. Staff was attentive. Just not my thing.
One of the most reasonably priced restaurants around. Good food. My family loves it 😀👍😊👍
We really enjoyed the pho, and also the curry. We also had chicken satay which seemed very dried out and the peanut sauce wasn't that good. Otherwise a good experience. The waiter was attentive and refill their glasses of water on spot and the price of the meal was very good for the portions given.
20 minutes to be seated another 20 to be given menu and water and another 10 for the food to arrive. Granted they were really busy i understand the delay. The food is absolutely amazing and ridiculously cheap. Would come here again disregarding the long wait times.
The prices are amazing! I would really recommend the Thai options. I was surprised when the soup options came in a hot pot. Would recommend.
I always order the same pho soup in this place (#2 rare) pho has been always good but this evening the meet had this rainbow color on it. I called the restaurant to ask about the color since it was the first time I had it like this and the owner said it was good, after a second call about the same issue he said he was going to get me my money back if I didn't want it but again assured me it was good and safe to eat (I guess he was already annoyed by my call) anyway, I googled it and apparently its safe, so I am eating it... it tastes good anyway. I guess I won't order rare next time and will try other options like the owner suggested 😊

Overall it was a pleasant experience. Pad thai was different than what I get from a Thai restaurant. Noodles were too moist and sticky, and not the noodles for this dish at a Thai restaurant. Place is clean and server was nice.
The pad thai was ok.. you have to add their sauces to give it a good flavor. The fried tofu was kind of soft. Their chicken on a stick was super dry. I didn't even eat it. When I told them I didn't like it. She kind of just shrugged her shoulders and said that how it is.. won't be coming back
To be fair, I’ll lay the whole scenario. They close at 10p, I ordered at 9:37. I was on my way from another Thai restaurant that was closed and I Siri’ed Double Bamboo. I ordered Green Curry w/Shrimp (which wifey said was good), Chicken Pad Thai, and Shrimp Tom Kai soup. First red flag was he said it’d be ready in 10 mins..When I got there 12 mins later, it was packaged and sitting on a table. I made small talk with an older lady that rung me out. An older man in the kitchen area smiled as I completed my order and exited. They were nice enough. However, I live in Newport Beach about 25 mins away. When I got home and made the spread for my family, the pad tai was inedible. Everyone knows kids love noodles, my kids didn’t touch it. The chicken wasn’t fully cut and resembled mangled meat. The noodles were clumped and lacked the flavor I was anticipating. Although the temperature was adequate, the dish was dry and not appetizing. The soup was bland and tasted like some concoction with Campbell’s tomato creamy soup as the base. As a budget conscious consumer, eating out is not something my family does often. We have more so during the pandemic and civil unrest to support local businesses. Even though I was nonplussed with the food, I felt it was warranted to reach out before reviewing to let them know and to see what they would propose as a remedy. Succinctly, I was told to bring the old food back from last night. That was 10 mins ago.. Like I said, my lady liked the green curry. That’s why they got the 2, but Double Bamboo is a one hitter quitter 4 me.
I actually. Love Vietnamese food, Vietnamese and Thai was a big letdown.I spent over $40 for me and my friends lunch. My shrimp fresh style rice cold wrap where's severely dried out? They smelled, I took a bite very old.I could not make them.I bought some hot spring rolls as well they were the typical frozen from the store across the street, smart and fi believe most of the things I had were just doctored Smart & Final dishes. My vermicelli was horrid. My friend hated her addition, said she had diarrhea.I would never return there.I don't know how they stay open

I checked out this place because it had great reviews mainly focused on the pho. I'm Thai and wanted to see what kind of spin a Viet Thai restaurant would put on the dishes. I ordered yum nuea, and Tom yum goon, very standard dishes. I got the Tom yum quite fast but the taste was missing something I would get from a dedicated Thai restaurant. It just wasn't sour and when I asked for a lime to fix the issue she gave me lemons. I then got my yum neau, it tasted a bit off and just okay. But as I mixed the sauce around my salad. I saw something move so I looked closer it was a fly that was in my salad, I almost immediately threw up and couldn't eat the food. I walked up to the counter showed the waiter the napkin I'm which I caught the fly in and told her I can't eat it anymore. She refunded me the yum neau but still charged me for the Tom yum as I gagged while waiting.
I ordered the pad see ew and I took 2 bites paid and left. I was the first customer of the day and I think the sold me yesterday's food. The broccoli was soft and yellow. The chicken was old. The noodles were not fresh and they seemed more like fettuccine then chow fun. The eggs seemed definitely like a yesterday's dish. Even so, I've had better left over chow fun noodles! It was very bland and I couldn't even tell the noodles had been fried. It was more like fettuccine in a runny broth with old eggs, chicken, and yellow lump broccoli. Maybe they thought I wouldn't know the difference but I know my way around Thai food. In a city of Stanton with large Thai and Vietnamese population, I don't know how they stay in business. This was a very bad experience
I came in with my bf and the lady seemed annoyed. My bf ordered a large shrimp pho and I ordered a small chicken pho. He got 5 small pieces of shrimp? And as you can see I didn’t get chicken. I asked her why does this only have 5 pieces of shrimp is it supposed to be like that? She said yes. We told the lady we were just going to go somewhere else because we were very hungry and she got annoyed and kept asking why. We were trying to be polite and just leave quickly and it didn’t go over very well. Maybe we caught them on a bad night but we won’t be coming back
Also customer service both on the phone and when I arrived to pick up my food. I advise the cashier owner lady that the full price online is different advertised then my total when I arrived.. she Shrugged and rolled her eyes as she didn't care and all her customer service went away.. I was $0.10 short and she just stared at me with the mean look on her face so I went back to my car to get it. I did not enjoy being treated like this and getting far from here when there's thousands of other places I could have gone to and enjoyed it from. Save your time and don't bother coming here because they do not wash their hands and follow Health procedures. Definitely do not recommend. The phone was below average anyways!!
