During the Basilica's 1hr lunch break I decided to come here for a steak lunch. Service was slow, from being acknowledged and seated (without offering me an outdoor seat) to asking my order and getting the bill (more told to head to the counter). Some people would say that this is an Italian thing, but none of the other restaurants that I dined at were like this. That said, the food was delicious and the house wine was great and such good value.

Delicious food in a pleasant environment. However the staff in most Italian restaurants is driving me crazy because everything always takes so long and this place is an excellent example. I don’t understand how is it not normal to change people around the tables (after one finishes their meal, they should pay and leave so others can take their seat, right?). In all cases the food was just great!

It was okay, nothing special. Without a reservation we were only allowed to sit inside. There were plenty of empty seats outside on the terrace and even upstairs visible from outside, but when we asked we were told it was not possible to sit there (which is the main reason to come). The food was mediocre and a bit expensive. We originally tried to order pizzas but after deciding they told us they did not have pizza - this was not written anywhere on the menu. The tagliatelle with deer ragu tasted okay but nothing special. I wouldn’t have guessed it was deer if it wasn’t written on the menu, would have assumed a bolognese. The bucatini with octopus was too salty, but the bigger issue was that in a €16 plate of pasta we only found 2 tiny pieces of octopus. When we asked the male waiter if it was an accident and to have some additional pieces, he actually tried to convince us this was normal because it is a ragu! Then he walked away and did not return. After we waited for a while to see if he would come back, another female waiter noticed we weren’t eating and asked what was wrong, and then brought us a bowl with a few more pieces of octopus. The rest of the service was okay, but they are clearly understaffed. A huge queue to pay the bill too so we almost missed our tram. Overall it was okay but nothing special. If I got a few sandwiches to eat on a bench I would have probably enjoyed it more.

We ordered an aperitivo for four, but most items came with only three pieces. When we asked why, the waiter responded rudely, saying if we want more things we can order extras. After finishing our food, we stayed briefly to chat, but were told to order more or leave despite the place being nearly empty (see photo), and they even brought the check to table and left without our asking. Totally unnecessary and unprofessional. There are respectful ways to handle customers offensive act is not one of them

Beautiful view, but everything else was terrible. Worst service I’ve ever had: 15 minutes waiting for the balcony, kitchen closed, rude staff, and even drinks never arrived. We left. Definitely not recommended.
