My fiancé took me to this restaurant right after I arrived from Europe. From the moment we walked in, it felt like a little piece of home—the atmosphere truly captured those European vibes that I’ve been missing. The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, making us feel welcome from the start. And the food ..absolutely amazing! Every dish was bursting with authentic flavors that reminded me of my favorite spots back in Europe. The only thing I would suggest for improvement—and please note, it was still delicious—is the seafood pasta. It would be even better if it wasn’t quite so watery. But overall, it was a fantastic experience, and I can’t wait to come back! Highly recommend!
Came here for a birthday and we had a fantastic experience! The food, drinks and service was amazing! Our server Travon was so kind and made sure we had a great dinner. We will make sure to ask for him next time!
Oscar's never disappoints. I had the scallops for the first time. Boy, was I surprised with the portion, which was more than plenty. They were absolutely delicious. The risotto and zucchini were too! Service was quick, and the atmosphere was perfect.
We came in last night and had Nicole as our server - she was AMAZING! We had our two kids with us and she was so patient and friendly. She took family photos for us, as extra attentive, all around just so great. The food (especially the prime rib) was 10/10. Can’t wait to come back. Thanks Nicole for a great evening!
Stopped by Oscar’s for my birthday lunch. And loved everything about the establishment! It was early, so I was able to get a seat pretty easily. The inside was beautiful, but chose to sit outside because it was a lovely day. The hostess was very gracious and when I came back to ask where the bathroom was, she personally escorted me there. Our lunch was amazing and they have, great brunch mimosa and bloody Mary specials. The food was tasty but the bananas foster was out of this world!! At the conclusion of the meal, they gave me a little chocolate and a happy birthday card, super classy. Highly recommend for just an amazing quality place to eat.
Had a fried seafood platter. It was large and quite good! Shared with husband and it was plenty of food. Crab bisque was excellent.
Our first time dining at Oscars and I must admit I'm glad I decided to visit the restaurant before reading the reviews,l. Upon entry we noticed the restaurant was very clean and the quiet ambience was welcoming. Our server Jay, amazing is the only word to describe his professionalism and knowledge of the menu, what's popular to eat and drink. His predence compliments the restaurant. We never had to ask for refills as he was prompt to keep our glasses fool. He never rushed us on any decision making which invites a Fine dining experience. I recommend their appetizers dinner and desert mixed with a fine wine to relax the evening. Everything was cooked to perfection but my Halibut special for the evening was hitting on a whole new level. Will revisit 5*
Our Real Estate brokerages chose Oscars for our 2026 Summit and we couldn’t have been more pleased. From scheduling the event to communicating the menu details everything went smooth . April was so helpful. The food was great. Whitley was a phenomenal waitress and took care of all our needs , Even going above and beyond and coming to the rescue with superglue for a mishap with one of our awards . The Azalea room was a perfect backdrop to our event . We thank you!
We announced our engagement at this restaurant, and honestly, the food was delicious. 🤤 The seafood truly had a rich, fresh flavor compared to other restaurants—this one really tastes like seafood. The service was excellent; the person who attended us was incredibly kind. The place is very elegant, and I absolutely loved the music. I truly recommend it.💯
Ashley the server was so genuine and helpful and new the items on the menu. She made the evening very special and my husband and I felt so welcomed and comfortable. The food is amazing with different menu items that have great flavor as well as appealing. The chocolate covered cherry martini is like a desert. Love this place.
This little gem radiates a warm, nostalgic ambiance, yet its delectable cuisine is truly the crowning jewel. We were a party of 8, and Kelvin took exceptional care of us, exemplifying impeccable politeness, courtesy, and seamless control of the room. He expedited our drinks, presented us with daily specials, and ensured our orders were placed promptly. The wait time for our food was remarkably brief, no more than 10-15 minutes. For appetizers, we ordered the fried green tomatoes, fried calamari, and two of us indulged in Oscar's shecrab soup, which was rich, meaty, and full of flavor, with a hint of cinnamon. My entree, the shrimp and grits with cheese sauce, bacon bits, and green onions, was nothing short of phenomenal. My coworkers' dishes, including the fried chicken salad, salmon salad, NY ribeye, grilled pork chop, and stuffed flounder, were all truly exceptional. Chefs kiss 💋 5 stars!
The only thing we’re disappointed with is that it took until our 14th anniversary to make this grand discovery. We booked reservations last minute to celebrate, and it was the best decision we could have made. First they brought out the best bread either of us have ever had with our wine. Then we had oysters on the half shell and mozzarella half moons for appetizers. They were both wonderful and the cheese pull was amazing. For our main entree, my husband had the prime rib with mashed sweet potatoes and spinach. He is still going on about the spinach being amazing and the prime rib cut like butter. I had the chicken carbonara and it was literally the best pasta I’ve ever tasted. We’re both already itching to go back for more. For desert I had the caramel xango and he had the banana’s Oscar. Both were absolutely amazing. Our waitress Tiffany was the cherry on top of our experience. She was so helpful when we had questions about the wine and good before ordering and never let our glasses get empty. Overall this was an amazing experience ❤️
Our server Sherri was the best! She made our visit very enjoyable. It was my husband's birthday. As well we were meeting up with a friend my husband had not seen since high school. She even took a picture for us.
Wow! Visiting the area and came across this place. From the ambience, to the service, the the food, all excellent. So glad we found this place. Can't recommend it more! Tanya, our server, was great. Nice talking with her and her recommendations were spot on.
The atmosphere was cozy and welcoming, perfect for a relaxed dinner. Even without a reservation, we only waited about 25 minutes for a table for two, which was not bad at all. Our waitress was very helpful in walking us through the menu since it was our first visit. She was truly a delight. The food was absolutely amazing, full of flavor and comfort. We will definitely be coming back.
Sat down for a great lunch today. Had a cup of the she crab soup as an appetizer. Then the catch of the day for the entree. Great sea bass plate. Looking forward to coming back in the near future.
Had a fabulous Father’s Day dinner with my daughter, granddaughter, and son-in-law from service to food it was great! One thing I want to emphasize is Oscar’s customer service and their district manager, April, will get it right. I rarely eat beef and the braised beef was calling my name. The best beef dish ever! Fall apart tender and the combo with mushrooms, mashed potatoes, greens, and crispy onions was mouth watering. My daughter had the prime rib which she devoured and her and the baby loved the mac and cheese too! She crab soup excellent. Grouper bites were delicious. And to top it off, Tre (not sure how he spells his name) gave us excellent service! We will be back!
If you’re looking for a spot in Summerville that feels like a little bit of Charleston-style fine dining without leaving town, Oscar’s absolutely delivers. The she-crab soup alone is worth the trip—it’s rich, velvety, and loaded with flavor. Easily one of the best bowls I’ve had in the Lowcountry, and it sets the tone for the meal perfectly. When it comes to the main course, the prime rib is a standout. Tender, juicy, and seasoned just right—it’s the kind of dish that makes you rethink ever ordering steak anywhere else. Pair it with a side and you’re set for a meal that leaves you satisfied without needing to dress it up with a bunch of extras. And then, just when you think you couldn’t possibly eat another bite, dessert shows up. Our absolute favorite is the Xango—a fried cheesecake wrapped in a tortilla, sprinkled with cinnamon sugar, and drizzled with chocolate. It’s decadent but somehow still feels light enough to finish every last bite (and trust me, you will). Oscar’s manages to balance cozy, hometown charm with big-city quality, and that’s what makes it a go-to for us. Whether you’re celebrating something special or just want a meal that hits all the right notes, this place is always a win.
Always a great experience. The food never disappoints and Calvin our server is on point and friendly 👌
Elegant fine dining experience. Delicious steaks and seafood dishes. Braised short rib was exquisite. Reservation recommended for the weekend. Staff are personable and attentive. Definitely will go back.
Such a gem of a restaurant! Love the environment, staff, and food! As always we will be back!
My wife and I decided to visit Oscar's after careful consideration and suggestion from a friend for our 11th anniversary. We could not have been more pleased! From our arrival and entrance to a cozy atmosphere to the staff decked out in New Year's Eve head dress, to our server Ella R., it was a wonderful experience! From the bread, to our lunch meals and onto dessert, the food was wonderful! Served warm and delicious. Dessert was awesome in taste but also a special shout out to Ella who had it served up in anniversary style with special chocolate swirls on the plate and candles lit on top! She went above and beyond and we so appreciate it! We are going to make this an annual tradition! Thank you to all!
We met some life long friends for lunch. Our waiter, Randy, was attentive and accommodating. He gets Five Stars!! The meals arrived in a timely manner. All four meals were plated professionally and everything was hot. We all agreed the meals were delicious. Another Five Stars. We sat in outside dinning area. It was very comfortable. We highly recommend Oscar's for any dining occasion.
I had dinner at Oscars last night, our server absolutely made the experience outstanding. From the moment we sat down, she was friendly, attentive, and genuinely enthusiastic about making sure we enjoyed our meal. It's rare these days to find someone who clearly loves what they do, and thanks to her energy we had one of the best dining experiences we've had in a long time. I personally loved the seafood burrito! Highly recommend asking for Ashley next time you visit!
We love this place! The food and adult beverages are absolutely amazing! It never disappoints. Miss Tonya made sure we were taken care of. Had the bartender make my drinks just like I ordered. FANTASTIC!
We loooove Oscar's! It came highly recommended while we were visiting Summerville and we were excited to try it. We came before the main dining room was open so we sat in the bar area and we were greeted by Randy, who took excellent care of us. Randy was knowledgable about the restaurant and Summerville. He was a joy to talk to and let me tell you - the food was DELICIOUS! I had the scallops and my husband had a wedge and french onion soup. He is very particular about French Onion soup and there were no complaints - just an empty bowl. :) Oh and let's not forget the desserts...... It was sooo hard to choose but the key lime pie did not disappoint. Thank you Randy for your excellent service and for all of your recommendations around town. We will definitely see you again!
My husband and I went here tonight for the first time for our anniversary and we had an amazing experience! The ambiance was so wonderful: warm and sophisticated! The wait staff were incredible, and our server Morgan was exceptional! Our tea glasses were always full without our asking, and the wait was not long at all for each course of our meal! The food itself was fantastic! I highly recommend the fried green tomatoes as an appetizer ( it came with a little goat cheese on top which I had never had, but it worked perfectly together), and the smoked gouda mac&cheese was also delicious! For dessert we had the creme brulee and the brownie bottom cheesecake and they were both *chef's kiss* AND it's seasonal so get it while they have it! They were so thoughtful and added special details to our meal like candles on our dessert to celebrate our special occasion and we also got a beautiful note with chocolates with special day well wishes! We loved every minute! We will absolutely be back and look forward to bringing more of our family to enjoy with us! Thank you, Oscar's and see you soon!
Ordered takeout for dinner, was super busy! (In a good way) Hostesses were friendly and inviting while waiting for my order. We had the bruschetta, cheesy mushrooms, French onion soup, Shrimp and salmon pasta, Braised short ribs and smoked Gouda Mac n cheese. Everything was absolutely DELICIOUS! This place was highly recommended, I highly recommend it and will 10000% return to dine in person.
Our first time there and had a good time. The bread and butter they serve are melt in your mouth good. The hunt of honey in the butter is just the right amount of sweetness. I thought the raspberry vinegarette dressing was on point. Nice flavor without being overwhelming. My husband got the prime rib which was cooked to perfection and very tender. I had the chicken Oscar and the chicken was tender and moist with good flavor. Will definitely be back.
Oscar's really lived up to the hype online. It was classy but casual. I had the blackened prime rib and my hubby had the lemon haddock. Both were delicious. And our waitress was so friendly and kind.
I’ve always heard good things about Oscar’s so I decided to have my anniversary dinner here. The experience was wonderful! Our server was such a sweetheart and everything came out in a very timely manner. The food was absolutely delicious and the mood lighting created such a nice atmosphere in the restaurant. My expectations were exceeded and I will definitely be back!
Tonight we made a last minute decision to bring our funeral reception to Oscar’s because our loved one held every special occasion here. Although we gave the staff virtually no warning, April ensured that we were fully accommodated and turned a sad situation into a very special occasion our friends and family. Thank you April for your kindness
Just a quick note to all ..... My husband and I had dinner tonight and it was absolutely delicious. From the warm bread at the beginning to the entree's of Filet Mignon to the finish of Creme Brulee and Brownie bottom Cheesecake with a Blackberry swirl and sauce. Absolutely delicious. Can't wait for our next visit.
Ambience was great, food excellent, service by Kelvin was off the charts! Our party of six was, let's just say, somewhat less "buttoned down" that the regular crowd here. Kelvin didn't miss a beat and got absolutely everything right. He also explained menu items and made excellent recommendations. Entire experience was wonderful. Raw oysters, shrimp cocktail, cheesy mushrooms, ribeye, NY Strip, and blackened halibut all hits. Highly recommend.
From the moment my party and I stepped in the door we were greeted and accommodated quickly! The entire front house staff was very nice, kind and sweet. When we got to our table we were greeted by our waiter, Mitch Who was an absolute delight to have as a server. He may suggestions on the menu Which helped us become more informed about what we would order. Mitch was very patient kind and thoughtful. And the food was way so delicious! It was seasoned to perfection! It came out hot and perfect! I would recommend Oscar’s to everyone!
ALL our food was excellent!!! The pork chop that I had was the best, most tender chop I've ever had. Excellent collard greens too. My wife had shrimp and said everything was fresh and cooked perfectly. Our server was very friendly and especially nice to our Granddaughter (who was celebrating her birthday). Ample parking behind/aside the restaurant. Very warm and comfortable family atmosphere. Easy to have a conversation too. All the staff were friendly and helpful.
My husband surprised me for our 55th wedding anniversary at Oscars along with 30+ guests. April was the catering person, Tonya & Monique were our wonderful waitresses who took amazing care of us all. Food was amazing, drinks were perfect too. Thank you for sharing in our wonderful celebration! It was perfect❤️ Tom & Cathy Roth🥂❤️✌🏻
Interesting little dive with decent food and very polite servers. I’ll be honest i expected a little more, but also wasn’t disappointed. The food was good, but a little on the salty side for me. The garlic makes potatoes were awesome. The grilled chicken breast (no picture) was very small but tasty. The appetizers were good but not great. It was an interesting spot but i likely won’t be back. So many choices around here afterall.
It was my boyfriend and I first time going here. Our waitress was Samantha she was really nice and asked us questions if we needed help. I think the hostess at the front was a little rude she really didn’t say much to us. But I watched as others came in, she was very vocal in talking to them. Asking how they were doing where they wanted to be seated and so on. While I just barely managed to get a hello from her😅
Just had a delightful evening at Oscar's here in Summerville, and I'm already itching to go back! From the moment we stepped inside, the atmosphere was just perfect – cozy and inviting, elegantly relaxed. The service was truly top-notch; our server was attentive, friendly, and made us feel right at home. Now, let's talk about the stars of the show (mostly!): the food. Every dish that graced our table was an absolute delight. Seriously, each bite was a burst of deliciousness! And the best part? The prices were incredibly reasonable for the quality and quantity of food we enjoyed. It's always a win when you leave feeling satisfied without breaking the bank. However, and this is where I have to be honest, the fried green tomatoes were a bit of a letdown. While I adore this Southern staple, the ones at Oscar's unfortunately didn't quite hit the mark. They were a little soggy, the breading lacked flavor, and the accompanying sauce wasn't quite right. It's a shame because everything else was so fantastic. The Verdict: Despite the minor hiccup with the fried green tomatoes, Oscars is a gem! The delicious food, exceptional service, and wonderful atmosphere make it a must-try in Summerville. We'll definitely be returning to savor more of their fantastic menu. Rating: 4 out of 5 stars
This was our second visit. The first one was brunch buffet and was non remarkable , but this time they redeemed themselves. Our first visit was for a Mother’s Day brunch, this time we went for dinner. The meals were great. We got the short rib and a NY strip steak, both were cooked perfectly! The Gouda mac and cheese was fantastic, Caesar salad was flavorful and the bread on the tables was soft and delicious. I also got the risotto, which was alright, and the broccoli was unseasoned- but overall, the star of the show was the short rib, which was worth the visit on it own. Oscar’s proved that they’re a local staple, as long as you’re there for what they do every day, great menu items served by friendly staff!
I was a little disappointed with the shrimp and grits. The grits were quite dry, but it waitress was phenomenal. She was so pleasant and attentive. The restaurant was clean and had a cheerful atmosphere. I will go back again.
Went there for a business dinner. Nice place for fine dining. The menu has some wacky options like a seafood burrito. Service was great. I had fried calamari for an appetizer. For the entree, Braised short rib with collard greens and mashed potatoes. Itwas really good. Overall, Good experience
Emily was very attentive & professional. The ambiance and restaurant is beautiful and offers both indoor and outdoor seating. We were sat right away and immediately were greeted by Emily. On the other hand by the end of our experience we found ourselves Disappointed with the quality of food we received as we had to send back both of our dishes because they were not hot after waiting some time for them to arrive. We were also surprised by the portion sizes compared to the price. For example you’ll receive 4 small pcs for $14 of the crab fritter. She crab soup, Cesar salads & dessert of the month were great. Overall for $150 + 20% gratuity spent and to never interact with a manager over our mishaps we were left very disappointed and will not return or refer anyone to dine here because of this.
Great place! Disappointed on the Friday before Valentines day. Went out tonight to avoid the valentines menus, etc. Great outdoor area but a limited Valentines menu all weekend. 😭 went there for the french onion soup and chicken pasta dish. Not on the menu, had a nice drink, but left and did not eat dinner. Would have loved to just had dinner off regular menu at bar on beautiful porch. I will never understand why restaurants do this especially when it’s not even actual Valentines Day.
We've been here before. Neither of us have been bigs fans, but is was my father's 90 birthday. There were 8 of us at 5 pm on a Monday. The room was so cold. The service was slow and didn't improve. We had to find the waitress for water. Our food was cold. I had surf and turf. Five medium shrimp and two small filet mignon. These was grissel which is not found in a filet 🤔. The butter was served to go on top of the steak, but since it was cold, it just added color! Broccoli was way overcooked. My father had a filet with French fries. I'm grateful his food seemed acceptable to him. The rest of just flowed with it.
Came here for some steak on a Wednesday evening. It wasn't busy, I sat at the bar, and the staff was friendly and attentive. I ordered the filet mignon and French onion soup. The soup was delicious, but the steak was not. I requested medium rare and what came out was closer to medium well. I checked with the bartender what I ordered and then showed her. She promptly acknowledged that it was overcooked and said they would remake it. What came out the second time was overcooked, but closer to medium, so I just accepted it. It was not a good cut and they put these corny grill marks on it, which I found weird. They offered to comp it, but I refused. Great staff, but the filet cut was bad and whoever cooked it didn't know what they were doing. Good French onion soup, though.
We had an amazing server, Anna Claire, is wonderful. She is very knowledgeable and was able to make great recommendations. The food is plentiful but short on flavor and taste. The steaks were not cooked to order, so this place lacks on delivery. Some more steps to go and can potentially turn it around, if they focus on the entire experience. If it was not for our server the score would have been two across the board. Maybe next time.
I don't like to give bad reviews but this was a sadly disappointing experience for a special birthday group. The service was slow, inattentive and mostly MIA but some of the food was even worse. The stuffed shrimp were shriveled, fishy, salty, overcooked little rubber balls and the wines were terrible. Oscars has a reputation for being a "nice place" but after this experience, I think that's solely because they have tablecloths and nice wine glasses. It's overpriced and subpar. To be fair, we did not complain because we didn't want to spoil things for the birthday person. But I will certainly not be back.
We moved here 7 months ago and ate here a couple times and thought it was good. Brought my best friend and her spouse in November. Both my friend and I ordered the salmon and we had to send our meals back. The salmon tasted horrible. It took over an hour to get our meals so when they offered to get us something else, our spouses were almost done with their meals so we passed. Last night we thought we would try again. Got there the day before Valentines Day not realizing that they had a special Valentines Day "weekend" menu with increased prices and limited options. The only option I could eat was $40.00 for scallops. We had made a reservation and requested a booth as my hearing is not great and they sat us almost on top of a couple sitting in a booth and another table very close behind us. Could barely hear. We got up and left and will not return.
