Why did this pizza despising lactose intolerant Yelp reviewer step inside a Pizza shop? For pasta. Lenny's Pizza is the first pasta shop to show up on the radar located in the awkward 6 way cross street of Greenpoint and 44th. By far the best pasta I have discovered in Queens. As soon as I entered, the cashier warmly greeted me and directed me to the menus against the wall. The menu is quite extensive with variety of pizza's, pastas, and Italian food, quite overwhelming at first glace. I ordered a small (large available) linguine with clams in white sauce, my favorite of pastas. The cashier asked me to sit anywhere I'd like and after 5 minutes, delivered the food directly to me. This place is not fast food nor a restaurant, but provides fantastic service! The linguine with clams was elegantly presented with fine linguine in the center sprinkled with sliced clam bites and six little neck clams surrounding the perimeter of the dish all emerged in white clam sauce blended in olive oil. Also served was two pieces of freshly baked garlic bread and one soft bun. Slurping on the noodles and dipping the bread in the white clam sauce rendered total satisfaction. The finest of pasta was devoured here for the fraction of the price for this dish at another restaurant. Lenny's Pizza is truly an undiscovered hidden gem in the heart of Sunnyside and I will be returning!

Came in today to purchase the Wacky Wednesday Special of the Large Plain Pie for $9.95. Very attentive and kind staff and clean restaurant, seems to attract a lot of the Sunnysiders. Just be a little patient as you get a fresh pie made.

The "Fresh Mozzarella Slice" has a dough so well risen. That it actually has large craters of crunchiness when you look under your crust! I think they look like moon craters. One word, DELICIOUS!

I've honestly never been inside Lenny's so I can't give an honest opinion of the Decor. But I do order from them at least 2 times a week, and this has been going on for over 6 months. I'm not a big pizza guy (too much doe and carbs, but if they start using wheat doe then maybe I'll start ordering more) but when I did try some of the samplers they brought to our club I did find it quite decent; up to par with other good pizza I've had around NYC. What I love about Lenny's is their dishes. The Chicken Frances is amazing, as is their Spinach Egg white soup (they call it something else). Highly recommended as well: Steamed Broccoli, Anything the make with Egg Plant. Service is also amazing. I have had no issues with every order they've delivered.

I got here right before closing and the staff was awesome. Even though they were losing the guy at the counter was nice enough to put two slices in and even hook me up with some pepperoni after I ordered the wrong thing. Great people and better pizza.

Hands down best pizza place in Sunnyside! They have delicious New York Style cheese pizza and sicilian.If pizza did not go to my waist line,i would eat here almost everyday. They also have variety of pasta dishes which I have not tried but if they use the same tomato sauce I'm sure its delicious.

Lenny’s has been a regular in our house for 7 years. The Tuesday and Wednesday deals can’t be beat, but the grandma is our favorite 😍 The meals are phenomenal too, from the lasagna to the vongole, it’s all fresh tasting and made with care. Service is quick and pleasant, we couldn’t love our local pizza place any more!!!

The seating is nice, especially when there is nicer weather and they open wall to make the restaurant into something like a patio. The pizza is classic New York style so you can't go wrong.

Lenny's has a good variety of pizza by the slice such such as their buffalo chicken or grandma slice. Also plenty of seating and great view of the life along Greenpoint Ave.

The people at the restorant are friendly and the pizzas are realy good and tasty. However, we had to wait a little to long for our orders.

I finally tried Lenny's Tuesday wrap special for $5.50 and honestly, I'm a fan. The wrap is a little smaller than what most people are used to but it was perfect for me. It also comes with a handful of fries. I'll definitely try the other wraps next time.

Edit: modifying this review to reflect that service has improved considerably. Haven't had any issues lately, and the pizza is still delicious. Good pizza, TERRIBLE service. The girls who take orders frequently forget/don't hear/don't care, causing me to wait far longer than one should for pizza. Last time I was there, I ordered 2 plain slices, a beef patty, and a dessert and waited for 20 minutes as other customers cycled in and out - this is because the girl who took my order forgot to go downstairs and get my dessert while I was sitting there waiting, as my food got cold. It's a shame because the pizza is decent/affordable, but I'll likely stay away unless I need a pizza fix badly.

I went here because I thought this was the place that Saturday night fever was set in but it wasn’t here. the same exact name but unfortunately this is a different place. be careful, don’t get the same mistake as me. being said, the taste was excellent I assure you that.

Good taste. The taste slightly resembles the taste of the old pizzerias in the Bronx. I've never gotten that taste again but the fact that they can remind me of that taste is a feat in and of itself. To give you an idea of where they sit on the taste scale I have a Dominoes pizza and a Papa John's nearby and prefer the taste of this pizza over the other two. Out of the three I would rate them number One, Papa Johns second and Dominoes third. In fact I don't even like Dominoes. It's one of the worst pizzas I've ever had. The only time I've ever tasted a good Dominoes pizza was in another country, go figure. They also have a variety of other things such as chicken and pepperoni rolls and also home deliver.

I live within a block of two very reputable pizza establishments but last week I ordered from Lenny's for the first time, which is about 5 additional blocks, and holy smokes. 😍 Best Grandma pie I've ever had! Everything was spot on, and the dough was so delicious that even the crust on its own was great! I can't confidently give any pizza establishment 5 stars without trying a plain slice, or at the least being a repeat customer, but, we are well on our way to that!

They have good weekday specials and open-air seating. I've really been getting into their pastas, and the portion sizes are great! The eggplant parmigiana is a particular favorite and so are the calzones.

They have a good variety of pizzas, just wish there was a bit more flavor and originality. They’re good, just a little bit bland. My pizza was warmed up for me but was cold, and the bottom was hot. I recommend the thick Margherita slice as seen below. I was coming from the gym though, so I did look a bit messy… the staff were giving me very judgmental looks. I only go here because it’s by my house, the pizza as listed in the photo is the only thing worth buying 100%.

The wait was just too long. I should have order online to pickup or delivery but I didn't. The people there were not very helpful. It was the first time I was ordering from this place so I wasn't sure where to go. I approached the girl at the register and I was just standing there for 5 minutes and she never even talk to me(completely ignored me), after like 20 minutes the guy took my order but he made sure to finish like 5 orders first. I waited about 55 minutes for a small pizza and some garlic knots. The pizza was ok but I will definitely not be ordering from this place again.

I stood there trying to catch an eye for so long I felt invisible - it would have been okay if someone had acknowledged me or simply said, “just a minute!”. Unfortunately my slice, hero and garlic knots were so dry that the food did not redeem the service.

Today was a difficult day at Lenny's Pizza. I don't consider their pizza to be good pizza, it's just good drunk pizza. I think papa john's and dominos can serve a better quality pizza. But when you're in a hurry and both Papa John's and Dominos doesn't serve slices Lenny's Pizza will work. Well today was one of those days, I ordered a pepperoni Stromboli to go, and when I got home, I opened it and it was some kind of meat with onions and peppers. FML I guess the employee and I are both having bad days. FYI my day was good before going to Lenny's. Well this is NYC and I'm not about to walk back for an exchange or refund... So I'll just leave my comment. Seriously I question how they can afford rent in such a great location.

Go there a few times a month. OK pizza. The female cashier very rude and looks like she don't care to work there. Mishandles food and from touching everything in the place to then preparing your beef patty to be cooked is just incredible.. Words can't be expressed.. Wont be going back.. Best slice is from Sunnyside Pizza on 40th and queens bully.. 10-18-17

Beware of the large pan pizza Scam. For $19.00 they make you a large 16 inch pie, with absolutely no seasoning or flavor. The crust is as though you are eating a Pop tart. They literally take two minutes to make it and off you go !!!! Bland Bland Bland. No consideration for flavor or quality of product whatsoever.

Main guy DOESN’T WEAR A MASK!!! Why is the guy that takes orders, talks to customers, touches the food and cash never wears a mask? Have passed by several times and all the other workers wear a mask, but the skinny guy with a beard is never wearing one. Remember people we are still in a a PANDEMIC and there is no excuse not to wear a Mask.

Can't give 0 stars but they deserve it. The manager is the awful and disrespectful guy I've ever met. I was with my child and ordered to go. Last minute my daughter wanted to seat 'cause was tired, and he did not let us do it. Using such a prepotency and rude way to speak not only to me but my daughter and friends. Such a shame that immigrants like him(I'm also a grateful immigrant) do not learn from American culture which an example in the world to treat others with respect and love. I do not recommend this place to anyone, specially with kids. The manager who should be example is the shame of his own business. I do not know food quality, after pay and that horrible moment I gave back the food and take my money for a never come back.

Their pizza is good, nothing special. I will never go back there even if the food is free! Staff has an attitude, not clear directions or order. This is why I leave a bad rating, felt very insulted when a staff was rude to me and this is not the 1st time.

Terrible, just terrible. What happened to Lenny's? New owners a few years ago. The pizza is thick chewy doughy crust, extremely greasy and skimpy on the cheese. The calzone was watery! Inedible and made me nauseous! There are much better pizzerias in the neighborhood. Try Sunnyside Pizza or Marabella's on Greenpoint Ave.

this used to be affordable place. using covid as an excuse, they inflated prices. just paid 9.75 for 2 mozzarella slices (walking/not online order) never again.

If you call for an order and they tell you to wait 20 minutes. Get ready to wait over 40 minutes. So slow and don't honor it if you call in first. Horrible service. They said to make an item on the menu it would take 20 minutes Not 40 minutes to an hour.

Pay attention to your receipt! The owner has been ripping the neighborhood off by adding .57 cent charge even if you use cash. This is not an isolated incident. The staff has been doing this to many customers for months. It may not seem like a lot of money. Example .57 x 100 customers = $57 a day x 30 days = $1710 a month. It adds up. Shame on the owner and the staff for stealing from their customers

This is my local pizza shop and since moving to Sunnyside, Lenny’s pizza has fallen off to the point where I cannot order from here anymore. I’ve given them so many opportunities to create a decent pie and each pie is worse than the last.

I purchased three slices of pizza and 4 spinach pinwheels last night, and unfortunately, all of them were disappointing and not edible. The pinwheels were undercooked with raw dough, and the pizza had a terrible taste. I ended up having to throw away the entire order, and I couldn’t even return to the store since I live in Jamaica. Stay away from this store.
