Absolutely phenomenal experience! This tapas restaurant is a fantastic addition to Carrollwood and exceeded all our expectations. The food was out of this world the beef satay was perfectly grilled, tender, and bursting with flavor, while the beef tongue was incredibly rich and melt in your mouth delicious. Every dish we tried was thoughtfully prepared and beautifully presented. The service was warm, attentive, and genuinely welcoming, making us feel right at home from the moment we walked in. It’s not always easy to find a place that offers top notch cuisine and is family friendly, but this spot nailed it. Our whole family left happy, full, and already planning our next visit. Carrollwood is lucky to have this gem!

I had the pleasure of attending the soft opening this past weekend for Plate Tapas Grill & Lounge, and I was genuinely impressed—both by the ambiance and the cuisine. The interior exudes a refined, modern elegance with a moody dark green palette that gives off sophisticated Slytherin vibes. It sets the perfect tone for the menu, which leans into creative Asian-inspired tapas. For the quality and presentation of the dishes, the pricing is incredibly fair, making it a fantastic spot for a date night or an after-work cocktail. The standout for me was the crispy tuna—it was exceptionally fresh and beautifully marinated. What truly elevated the dish, though, was the cucumber salad it came with—light, crisp, and refreshing without overshadowing the star of the plate. I'll definitely be recommending this spot to friends and colleagues alike. In fact, I’m already suggesting it for future marketing cocktail hours at work. It brings a unique culinary twist to the Carrollwood area, offering something fresh and exciting that I believe could make it the neighborhood’s next hidden gem.

Sophia was our waitress. SO SWEET and the owner was polite and nice also. We loved everything we had. We got two sushi rolls, spicy shrimp dumplings, beef jerky, crispy crab rolls and a crab empanada. Our 2 year old enjoyed the fries & chicken satay. We need more places like this in Carrollwood!

A beautiful restaurant in the heart of carrollwood! The food and atmosphere at plate were both perfect! We got a variety of small plates including the crab empanada, chicken satay and some sushi rolls. Everything was fresh and delicious! The price point was great for the carrollwood area. We will be back again!

The food, the atmosphere and the service all were excellent. Elizabeth was attentive and had great recommendations. Their craft cocktails are delicious and I loved the tiger ribs and empanadas.

This place is amaaaaazing! The vibe is on point, the food is exquisite and the staff is superb and over the top. And did I mention the DJ on Wednesday is on fire? Well he is. Mia our server was fantastic!!! It’s about time Carrrollwood stepped up their game with getting into the groove of non-commercial trend setting restaurants. This is now one of my faves.

Came here for lunch, and the food was amazing! Some of the small plates are shareable but recommend getting your own cause it’s hard not to eat the whole meal. Highly recommend the spider roll and chicken satay!

Great new Carrollwood spot that is a must visit! Cocktails are on point and every plate we had was delicious. From the pork belly bun, veggie spring rolls, to the blue crab empanada, every plate we ordered was fantastic. Price point really was the icing on the cake.

We enjoyed the place! Salmon Bowl was delicious. Drinks were good. Service was good too. The only thing my family wasn’t crazy about was the consistency of the white rice.

It was a really nice experience, food was so flavorful. Poon (idk if I spelt it wrong), was our server, she was so sweet, patient, and knowledgeable. Great date night spot, unfortunately we came on a night they weren’t doing live music- so we’ll def be back again to check it out!

Had a perfect birthday dinner at Plate! We had no problem making a reservation for a large group and had a great spot on the patio. Service was amazing, drinks were always flowing and the food was delicious. Highly recommend!

Food is wonderful. We were 7 and basically ate 75% of their long menu and everything was delicious. Service was top notch. Drinks were on point. All good.

I was visiting Plate for the first time last Friday, July 25. Periodically I visit my parents and try to entice them with food from different restaurants. I didn’t know what to order, but Mia at the bar was very patient explaining to me the various dishes for me to take home to my elderly parents. The crab fried rice was so good along with the grilled vegetables. Mia also suggested the entrees with grilled vegetables ( we chose chicken) and this meal tasted as good as it smelled. I look forward to eating here with my husband the next time we are in town. I was very stressed about pleasing my parents with the perfect dishes, and now thankfully my sisters and I can add another restaurant to order food that pleases my parents’ palate. Plate is amazing, and Mia, is, too. Look for her when you eat at this delicious restaurant.

Great place, atmosphere and food. They have happy hour and their margaritas are delicious. Finding parking is easy. They have indoor and outdoor spaces. I have food allergies and they have multiple options for gluten free and seafood. Go visit them!

This place is awesome. Make sure you get there during their happy hour, as some of the raised are on special, as are cocktails and wines. We ate tapas. Bao buns - pork belly and duck. Both were delicious. Beef jerky was delicious. Sticky ribs fell off the bone and into my ❤️. I stole bites from my wife's rib and it was not too sweet. I was expecting the all too common syrupy and sweet coating; but instead got delicious. I hit a few Moscow mules as they were one of the happy hour specials. My wife had the house wine and was very happy [after the first few glasses 😆]... Kidding. She was happy with the wine from the start, and history overall after a few glasses. Removed a star for the ONE ladies bathroom. There should be at least two, I the to think of when the restaurant is more busy. We will be back monthly.

Dining at Plate was an exceptional experience. We sampled the satay, octopus, sushi, and truffle fries , and each one was expertly prepared and full of flavor. The quality and presentation truly stood out across the entire meal. We also enjoyed espresso martinis, which were smooth, well-balanced, and a perfect complement to the food. From start to finish, everything was outstanding. I would absolutely recommend Plate and look forward to returning.

This place is amazing, such a gem that I hope stays in Carrollwood for a long time. I’m obsessed with the tomato soup, duck buns, and jerky… I have to get them every time I go. If you want to eat delicious, well seasoned food in a beautiful environment with great service look no further! Love love love

We just had a truly amazing dinner at Plate -- our first time there. Service was attentive and consistent. The food was truly outstanding. Talented kitchen staff delivered very fresh, bright tuna, delicious grilled pork belly, and a tasty fried rice. This may have been our first visit but it definitely won't be our last. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

The food at that location is outstanding, especially the ribs.....so so so so good, I no longer have ribs of any style anywhere else, PLATE has the magic formula for one of my favorite dishes. When busy the noise levels are loud and hard to carry on a conversation. Team service keeps the food flowing, maybe a few more check-backs to the table by the server. However even with the minor annoyances in service and atmosphere, the outstanding food will definitely keep us coming back.

My daughter and I had an amazing time last Saturday. The staff and the service were great and the food and drinks were exquisite. We will definitely be back. When you go make sure to ask for Mia she was attentive, had a great personality and very sweet.

Foodies Rejoice! What a gem we have right here in the heart of Tampa? The food choices are amazing and you can eat as little or as much as you like. Very reasonably priced and the flavors are exquisite. Savannah is an excellent server if you’re lucky enough to have her. We cannot want to try some more options next time.

I was visiting Tampa, Florida and we googled resturants nearby. Plate popped up and we went. The resturants was very clean and the decor is really nice. Love the atmosphere. The staff was friendly and welcoming. The food was amazing I enjoyed everything I got. I purchased the salmon bowl, the Mexican sushi and the house salad. My man enjoyed his food as well. He had the steak bowl. Everything was fresh. The drinks was amazing as well. I hope you have much success with your business and if I come back to Tampa, I know where to go to get a good meal.

We have been to Plate several times now since they’ve opened. The food is always outstanding. Some of our favorites include the sticky ribs and the duck empanada. Fun place to stop in for a meal or even just a cocktail at the bar. The staff is always friendly and professional. We are looking forward to the cooler weather so we can enjoy the outdoor area.

Decided to try this place for the first time last night. Food, service, atmosphere….100% FIVE STAR ACROSS THE BOARD!! So much so, we came back a second night! Savannah at the bar…phenomenal. Tried completely different things tonight than last night…every single thing…phenomenal. One of THE BEST places to eat in Carrollwood. 10 out of 10….if I could leave more than 5 stars I would!!

This place is excellent! Stopped in after cryotherapy for lunch and loved it so much I came back the next day. Ordered to-go as well and the staff is excellent. Very reasonably priced for fantastic food and lovely atmosphere. Highly recommend!

Very reasonably priced tapas. If you’re hungry or just need a light “snack” this is the place. Located in a strip mall that has all sorts of options for after dinner entertainment, drink or shopping. The sushi was amazing.

I visited Plate Tapas Grill & Lounge solo on a Monday night during their soft opening, mostly out of curiosity and a bit of nostalgia. This space used to be Marlow’s, which I really enjoyed, so I was hoping Plate might live up to that standard—or at least come close. The bones of the layout are still familiar, but the space feels noticeably more modern and open. Mirrors line the walls, making the room feel bigger and brighter than it is, and the addition of fresh flowers and real plants at the tables was a thoughtful touch. The music was lively and the guests around me seemed genuinely happy to be there. Service was strong right from the start. Martina, my server, was attentive, friendly, and clearly knew the menu well. I asked her to recommend a few standout small plates, and she steered me toward the spicy shrimp dumplings, roasted duck bun, roasted bacon oysters, and the Mexican roll. The dishes came out as they were ready, which gave the evening a nice flow. The dumplings were flavorful with a surprising little kick, served warm. The duck bun had bold, rich flavors in the filling, though the bun itself was a little cold and bland, which took away from it slightly. The roasted bacon oysters were served warm with spinach, bacon, lime, and cheese— the oysters were small, but all of the ingredients together were very tasty. The Mexican roll was fine, nothing exceptional, but decent enough, with most of the flavor coming from the sauce drizzled on top. I also had a Woodford Old Fashioned, which was beautifully presented and well-balanced—not too sweet, which I appreciated. A few things could’ve been better. There were crumbs on the booth when I sat down, and the paper menus looked worn and crinkled from being reused. The glossy tabletops showed every bit of condensation and soy sauce, which is a personal pet peeve more than anything else. The bathrooms were clean but clearly done on a budget. Verizon service is still awful inside—something that’s been true since Marlow’s was here. It would be great if they offered guest Wi-Fi. Still, the positives outweigh the quirks. Staff worked together well, checking in and clearing plates as a team. The entire experience felt coordinated and well-managed, especially for a soft opening. And more importantly, the food was creative, the vibe energetic, and the service leagues better than what I remember from this space’s previous iteration. It’s hard to say if it’s “better” than Marlow’s—it’s definitely different. But it’s its own thing, and it shows a lot of promise. I’ll absolutely be back.

We went on Sunday's night, the attention was amazing, the place looks nice and clean, we liked the green touches everywhere. The food was ok, a lot of options, i was a little disappointed with the oysters, I felted like I was eating just bacon with salad, however, our sushi selections where delish and fresh. Probably will give another try. I will recommend maybe some easy-going music to activate the vibe, the place is beautiful,it just need some better vibe.

We went for the first time to see how it was and we were pleasantly surprised. The wait staff was friendly and very helpful. What made our experience even better was the care and concern shown to us by the owner/manager upon his visit to our table. It is a wonderful place with good food and good service.

They're pretty new and still working out some menu items. The chicken satay was probably the best I have ever had anywhere. The chicken was very moist and tender. The sauce is amazing. Pork bun taco was fantastic. Only complaints were the wings were pretty unimaginative compared to the rest of the menu and overcooked, and the seafood taco was very overdressed in so much accent flavors you couldn't tell there was fish in it. Overall, love the place though and excited to see them grow.

Nice restaurant and modern layout. They have a fairly good menu and reasonably priced. However, the curry that I order was way too sweet almost tastes like dessert. If they can reduce the sugar, they’ll be OK. Also, there’s a lot of gnats inside the restaurant due to a lot of their plants.

I brought a friend here and she had never been. I have been many times. The restaurant wasn’t very busy and the hostess and waitress greeted us promptly. The waitress was great at going over the menu items for my friend. The disappointing part was the wine was slow to get to us and my small plates both arrived 5 minutes prior to my friends. This made it uncomfortable and no word from the waitress on why. I also had a second glass of wine which took long to receive so my only not good experience thus far. 🥲

I really want to give this place a two and a half because it wasn't quite a three-star experience for me. Service was actually the best part of the evening which is a rarity these days and thus very much appreciated. We tried 8 small plates from across the entire menu, and didn't find anything we'd come back to order again (though the bao bun was the best of the bunch). Which is not to say the food is bad it, was just unremarkable - especially at the price point. Drinks were fine but not excellent, and I wish there would have been a larger cocktail selection. The biggest negative factor for me was the noise... it was impossible to carry on a conversation with the one person I was dining with. The restaurant that was previously in that location had tall walls between the booths which I always thought was kind of weird... but I now see why. We don't have many options for nicer dining in the area, which I think gives them a leg up. Give it a try it might be your thing, but we won't be back.

Honestly, it’s been a while since I’ve been to a restaurant that was as bad as this one. First of all, the interior was freezing. The menu was all over the place, with Asian, Indian, fish, and meat options, but no vegetarian options for the small plates at all. I tried the tofu warm ball with lemon teriyaki sauce, but it was terrible, so I had to switch it to red curry (what?). That ended up not doing well for my stomach or for any of the other three people who ate that sauce that night. The place was designed nicely, but other than that, I’ll probably won’t be going back.

Had high hopes but underwhelming. The food was just meh.for example I ordered the tater tots thinking that at least can’t be that bad but was the worst thing I tried.Tasted and looked like they rolled up flavorless mashed potatoes and threw them in a deep frier. Lacking in flavor and appearance.Will probably not be going back. The sushi rice was also overcooked. It was mush

During my most recent visit, while Riley was the manager on duty, I saw a rat run from the direction of the kitchen into the dining area and underneath a booth while customers were eating. I brought this to Riley’s attention, but the response did not appear urgent. Additionally, during my visit I observed Riley taking multiple shots behind the bar. Combined with the rodent sighting, this raised serious concerns about professionalism and oversight in the restaurant. Because of how alarming this experience was, I have contacted the local health department so the situation can be properly investigated.

I love the idea of Asian tapas, but they really fall short. Service was friendly and the place looks nice, but the food isn't good. We ordered six small plates and every one of them tasted premade/frozen. I kept looking in the kitchen to see idle chefs - they should be busy with so many dishes. I guess it doesn't take much effort to heat & serve. What a shame.
