Una carta corta pero completa, platos muy completos y a precio razonable para la calidad de la carne. Llegar pronto porque las mesas se llenan muy rápido.

Estuvimos hace unos días y comimos de escándalo. La comida un 10 en calidad y cantidad. La atención por parte de Teresa encantadora. Y el precio super bien.

Muy buena atención, el camarero muy amable y la comida muy buena. La carne jugosa, buena cantidad y la guarnición muy rica. Buena calidad-precio. El único pero, la cockteleria cerrada ahora :-( (enero).

Excelente!🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 Después de un largo viaje para llegar a Tarifa, teníamos hambre y decidimos almorzar carne. Del bar nos llamó la atención las patatas frítas crujientes 🍟, la ensalada fresca aliñada 🥗 y la carne a la brasa 🥩! No defraudó!! 🤗 Mi hijo lo puntúa un 11000 de 10. 😂😋🌟. Y encima super amables y acogedores 🫶🏻.

El lugar se ubica en el centro histórico de Tarifa. El servicio es excepcional, con un camarero muy amable y atento, que se preocupa por recomendarte lo que realmente te pueda apetecer dentro de su carta. Los platos son muy generosos, y la carne es de calidad. El precio es más que adecuado para la experiencia que obtienes. Ojo !!! Tienes que ir muy temprano para coger sitio, o ser paciente en la espera … es un lugar demandado y con poco aforo, así que … a por ello!! Muy recomendable.

Situación inmejorable. Personal amable y con buena atención. No reservan, va por lista de llegada. Va muy rápido, cada 20 minutos salen las mesas. La comida increíblemente buena, espectacular, entrecot de ternera súper tiernos y en su punto. Precio razonable 24 euros el entrecot con patatas fritas buenísimas. Tienes que venir. Sitio pequeño es aconsejable ir antes de las 21.45h sino te tocará esperar mucho. Y el pan como en mi pueblo, un señor PAN.

I found this restaurant purely by chance. Boy did I strike it lucky. The menu isn't huge, but what they do, they do really well. I had the "feathery pig" which turned out to be the porcine equivalent of a feather blade steak. Which was cut against the grain, and barely needed a knife to cut it. It was perfectly cooked on the charcoal grill, which is located in the bar. So you can watch your food get cooked, while having a nice cold one. The chef spoke very good english, if you needed a better description than the menu gives. The portions are generous.

Very nice, rustic and historic restaurant with lots stories to tell. Very polite personel, awesome beer and tasty meals. Secret Iberico is a meat of Iberian pig with fat builded in muscles. Home made suasaggess are so tasty. Pure hedonism.

Seating is mostly outside. We went on a rainy day and it was quiet so we did get to sit at the one table inside. You can also sit at the bar. We liked that the menu was simple. Highly recommend the secret pork. That was our favorite out of everything we ordered. The salad and fries are also great.

Absolutely top notch experience. The staff are amazing, the food is top class and watching the food being cooked on the open grill tops it off. Add this place to your list when visiting Tarifa. I visited in December and there was no wait for tables, solo travellers might enjoy inside at the bar which is even more authentic.

I recently had dinner at Vaca Loca in the old town of Tarifa, and the food itself was fantastic. It’s a cute, cozy spot, and I ordered the beef fillet, which was absolutely incredible — one of the best steaks I’ve had in a long time. They offer extra condiments, but you honestly don’t need anything with that steak. It was perfect just as it is. The only part that wasn’t great was the service. When I sat down, the servers finishing their shift were very kind — they took my drink order and offered to help recommend items from the menu. But when I was ready to order my food, the server who had been helping me ended his shift and left. The new server didn’t come to take my order; he actually took the order of the table that arrived after me. I waited around 10 minutes or more, and when he finally came over, he apologized because he thought I had already ordered. It wasn’t the end of the world, but it did feel a bit disorganized. At the end, they asked if I wanted to add a tip, and I felt a bit pressured. Normally, tipping isn’t really expected in Spain the way it is elsewhere, and considering the wait and mix-up, I didn’t feel the service fully justified it — but I still tipped anyway. On a positive note, they brought a complimentary shot of liqueur, which was a very nice touch and helped end the meal on a good note. Overall, despite the service hiccup, the food was truly excellent. If I’m ever back in Tarifa, I’d return for the steak alone — it was that good. I just hope the service is a little smoother next time.

Incredible experience! We sat outside in the beautiful weather. The gentleman behind the bar was beyond friendly and helpful for our short stay in Tarifa - great recommendations. The food was prepared perfectly and was delicious! Off the beaten path and worth the detour if you’re looking for a quiet place to grab a delicious meal. My wife enjoyed the Steak Kebab and I loved the Ribeye Steak (not pictured because I ate too quickly before realizing I didn’t have a photo).

What can I say… we thought we went here for a quick diner. In the end we couldn’t stop eating at Vaca Loca! In the after season lots of restaurants were already closed or closing. We came back multiple times because in the first place the food was awesome! Steak, chicken, iberico pig, etc. All very well cooked! And of course, the staff was awesome too, all very kind and helpfull.

It is hard to impress me with steak since I made steak on charcoal, gas grill, cast iron pan and pizza fire oven. But Juan ( chef ) did an outstanding job. He knows his cut and how long to keep it on the grill to be perfectly medium rare! What is also noteworthy that he asked the staff if the customer wants the steak to be more grilled he is happy to do so, nice chef who understands the customer and their wishes. Food was very good, we had steak and pork secreto. Salad was nice and pastas fritas as most places do in Spain. Service was very busy but pleasant despite the constant inflow of people. I like inside and outside but inside you get to watch the grilling in action which is very enjoyable. See I don’t want to recommend this place because everyone wants to go and I won’t get a spot. It is a must do on your list!!!

We arrived without a reservation, so we had to wait at the bar for about 30 minutes for a free table — but it was totally worth it. The staff was very friendly. While waiting, I could see the chef and the grill, and I noticed they were following all hygiene procedures. The food was truly excellent — both in quality and portion size. I’ll gladly come back here again. Great job, friends!

Excellent food, chef cooks on a wood fire charcoal bbq and the results are excellent. We had the ribeye steak, fillet steak and chicken , all excellent. Service is great. You can reserve, common for most restaurants, seated in 20 mins for table of 5. Highly recommend

Such a great place for meat lovers. We were served by a very friendly waiter. The meats were prepared over coals. The fries were some of the best I’ve had. We had to wait a little outside until there was space. But totally worth it!

My friends and I had four different entrées, and l loved every single one of them. The dressing on the salad was tangy, savory, and delicious. The fries were crispy and lightly salted. Very happy with the quality of the food and the service provided.

Amazing food and ambiance!!! Really worth going to. The boys (servants) were very friendly, even when they were very busy, and the cook overwhelmed us with his tasty food. We had lamb shops and entrecôte. It’s very crowded and we were happy to accept a place inside at the bar to avoid the waiting time for a free table outside. It’s a no nonsense little restaurant in the middle of the old Tarifa town. A minor point was the ‘Disco’ wine, next time we’ll try another wine.

A hidden culinary paradise in the center of Tarifa. The dish is a complete meal that contains its protein, carbohydrate and salad. Great flavors and very good quality meat. We got the chicken fillet and the chicken kebab and were delighted. Juicy and good grilled chicken and at the same time marinated with amazing taste. Fuimos por recomendación y he de decir que la comida estuvo muy buena. Los platos son abundantes y la carne está muy buena, sobre todo la pluma. La guarnición de los platos más que abundante ya que consta de un montón de patatas fritas muy buenas y una ensalada con una vinagreta también muy buena. La comida compensó el montón de rato que estuvimos esperando hasta que nos sirvieron la comida. Le preguntamos al camarero por el tiempo que faltaba para la comida porque los niños tenían hambre y nos contestó que todo el mundo tenía hambre. Encima sirvieron la comida antes a la mesa de al lado que a nosotros y eso que habíamos llegado mucho antes, incluso los propios comensales de al lado nos preguntaron que había pasado ya que eran conscientes de que habían llegado bastante después que nosotros. Bueno, al fin llegó la comida y estaba francamente buena, así que quedó compensado. El menú infantil consiste en la mitad de la misma comida que hay en la carta, a mitad de precio, resulta muy apropiado. Los precios adecuados a la cantidad y calidad de la comida. Si os gusta comer un buen plato de carne os lo recomiendo.

This place is great for a nice diner from the grill. Very nice salades and good meat. Also a beautiful spot and in you want: after diner you can go partying in the club next to Vaca Loca!

Volví a La Vaca Loca como cada año, esperando el buen ambiente y trato de siempre… pero esta vez fue una auténtica decepción. La camarera de las trenzas nos habló con una falta total de educación y profesionalidad, y lo peor: ignoró por completo a una mesa de extranjeros por no entenderles. Menos mal que la otra camarera (la de gafas) y la comida salvaron un poco la experiencia. Un sitio que siempre fue ejemplar en atención no puede permitirse este nivel de trato al cliente. Ojalá tomen nota, porque así pierden lo que los hacía especiales.

Cada vez que bajo a Tarifa siempre voy al vaca loca ya que es unos de mis sitios favoritos, por la comida, ambiente y el trato que nos da los chicos de la Vaca Loca, pero este año hemos tenido una mala experiencia. El servicio dejó mucho que desear. La mujer camarera con moño morena (que es la primera vez que la vemos)tuvo una actitud seca, poco profesional, y cero interés por el cliente. Esto afecta a la imagen del negocio y en como se vende el producto porque daba la sensación de que te daban un servicio básico (cosa que no estábamos acostumbrados al venir antes). Algún punto positivo la comida como siempre que esta deliciosa, espero que la próxima vez que vuelva me atiendan los chic@s que siempre atienden ya que son la esencia de este lugar.
