A beautiful place, a restaurant that covers all the necessary aspects for enjoying a great day. It has a children's play area, an outdoor area, and indoor/private seating. We went for breakfast and then again the following week for dinner. Breakfast was delicious, but at dinner, only the grilled octopus dish had a less than ideal texture (it was quite watery in places). However, I still recommend the place.

A restaurant you shouldn't miss if you're passing through or are in Tecate, especially if you're heading to the Wine Route. We wanted to have breakfast and opted for this restaurant, located within the Rancho Tecate grounds. The drive from downtown Tecate takes about 20-25 minutes. Day of the week: Sunday. You don't need to be a club member, a resident, or someone important; the restaurant is open to the general public. Breakfast is served until noon. They ask if you have a reservation, but we didn't. We were told we would have to wait 30-40 minutes, but fortunately, we waited about 10 minutes in a very comfortable and attractive waiting room. The place is very spacious, with a pergola-style roof and long tables for up to approximately 10-12 people, tables for 4 people, and very comfortable armchairs with a table in the center. We appreciate that even though it's an open space, there are overhead fans for the hot weather. That day it was up to 31 degrees Celsius, and it felt very comfortable in the shade. What we ordered: *Chilaquiles with Chipotle Cream: 4/5, a good portion, the creamy sauce with a touch of chipotle but not too spicy, the scrambled eggs were good, and the beans were delicious. *Avocado Toast: 5/5, a large piece of bread (sourdough), toasted, fresh, and with a very good flavor. If you want something fresh, light, and balanced, this is a good option. *French Toast: 5/5, you have to try it, seriously. So delicious!!! *Coffee: 4/5 That day there was a singer with a very good voice and excellent musical selection. The service of the waiters was very good, no problems. Would we go back? Of course. But now we'd go for dinner. Total bill including 10% tip: $665.00

The chef here is really talented in creating some excellent dishes with local Baha flair. We had several dishes that were all extraordinary good. We ate on the newly remodeled patio which was also really nice. I could not recommend this hidden gem more.

Wow! My first time in Tecate, Mexico and I fell in love. Not only with the scenery and area, but the food and service! The food is so good. You cannot pass on this place if you’re staying at Rancho Tecate. We came here for dinner and everything was perfect. Jose Luis was a great server. He is so kind and tells you the best food choices. For the value and service, you cannot beat the price. I would come here again and again!

December 2024. A very pleasant experience. Breakfast/Lunch. Inside Rancho Tecate Everything was delicious: Eggs cooked to order, Chilaquiles were okay, perhaps a little salty, Bread of the day with nuts and jam (excellent), And a potato casserole with cream, bacon or chorizo, and avocado (also excellent), Orange and green juices for 4 people. The location and facilities were excellent, with two seating options: indoors or outdoors, both well-protected. The service was very good. Only the preparation time was a little long, hence the (4)

We went for breakfast and ordered red chilaquiles with chipotle and French bread. We found it tasty, but not spectacular. The chilaquiles and egg were very flavorful, but the beans weren't. The French bread was good, though. The service was good, but I think it could be improved. That said, the place is beautiful; you can tell every detail has been carefully considered, and it has a very pleasant and comfortable area for children to play. There are plenty of spots for taking photos. The prices seemed reasonable considering the flavor, quality, and portion sizes.

We came for breakfast, the food was good, although for the price of Rib eye I feel you could have had a better quality cut of meat, the service was average, the place is nice with a play area for children, it is very good

The place was very clean and pleasant. The food tasted good, but I didn't like that they didn't have any hot drinks like lattes or matcha; they only had regular coffee. I feel they could improve that. Everything else was fine, though, and they even gave us a 10% discount, which was excellent. There were six of us, and the total bill was 2,000 pesos, which I thought was a good price.

The place is definitely classy; everything looks carefully crafted. The service is also impeccable. I went for breakfast and wanted to try the house chilaquiles with mussels, octopus, and shrimp. I ordered them without mussels, they didn't have octopus, and they replaced it with a little more shrimp, but they weren't really chilaquiles. They had two tostadas at the bottom of the salsa, not fried tortilla pieces. The dish looked nice, but I didn't like it. Perhaps my opinion is limited because I only had breakfast, but that was my experience.

Unfortunately, my visit to Puerta Norte was not what I expected. From the start, the service presented several problems that affected the overall experience. It was very hot, and although we ordered drinks upon arrival, they ran out before the food arrived. When we asked for a second round, the drinks took so long that they arrived after we had already finished eating; I even canceled one of them, although I later noticed it was included on the bill. The food was also inconsistent: of three dishes, only one stood out for its flavor; another was too spicy, and the third lacked seasoning. Even though the restaurant wasn't crowded and there were plenty of servers available, the service was slow and inattentive. We were assigned a table in the sun, even though there were several tables in the shade marked as "reserved," which remained empty throughout our entire visit. In the end, I was left feeling disappointed. We paid the bill quickly to leave, and it was only afterward that I noticed the charge for the canceled drink, which only confirmed my dissatisfaction with the visit. It's especially disappointing considering that Chef Diego Vargas is a culinary icon in Tecate, and his cuisine is usually outstanding. I'm a fan, however, this experience was not what I expected.
