Opinions de Boran Thai Town
I ordered from the lunch special. Chicken Thai basil was delicious. The lunch special includes soup and a spring roll. This is a small restaurant in terms of space so the waiters were very attentive and polite. I would return a try other option on the menu.
Just have a lunch at Boran Thai today. The food was delicious, Yum Woon Yen was very refreshing a little spicy and sour, Pumpkin curry was creamy and hit with a pumpkin test getting along well with fall season. If you like spicy I really recommend a Kua Kling Moo !!
I was walking around the area today and decided to try this restaurant for the first time. I ordered three dishes, and every single one was delicious! The flavors were just like what you’d find in Thailand — truly authentic. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. The restaurant is beautifully decorated in a traditional . Highly recommended for anyone craving real Thai food!
If you’re looking for a restaurant with amazing food, a great atmosphere, and excellent service, this is the place! Every dish is crafted with care, bursting with flavor, and made from the freshest ingredients. You definitely won’t be disappointed. If you haven’t tried it yet, you absolutely should!
Such a fun and delicious Thai meal. Everything was full of flavor and beautifully prepared. The service was also excellent — friendly, attentive, and made the whole experience even better. I really enjoyed it and can’t wait to come back.
Boran is always my go to whenever I’m craving authentic Thai food. I truly believe their secret ingredient is love in all their dishes. There’s a taste of love in the way they plate and prepare their dishes. The plates and silverware’s are beyond cute! My go to is always anything from their fried fish option. I love the way it’s off the bone and easy to eat. Their Pad Thai never disappoints either!
Must order Mix appetizers had little bit of everything, they had marinated Raw shrimp if you love raw fish you would love it, so fresh. Had coconut green curry not my favorite but it was ok. And all other things that we order is absolutely taste. Will be back soon!!
BORAN is absolutely outstanding authentic Thai flavors, beautifully presented dishes, and a warm, welcoming atmosphere. My home is nearby so I order often, and I just love it every time. Highly recommended!
Very tasty. Could be one of the best rice noodles I had. Also the dried flower (looks like dried black grass) is also very tasty and chewy. Asked waitress and it is called red cotton tree flower. Will try that at home too
Food is very authentic . We ordered " Larb fish Ubon, and it was amazing, rich and tasty, but yet refreshing, it is such a joyful experienced. And we have a grilled marinated pork , this one we can say the best grilled pork we ever had, surprisingly Juicy but not too fatty, which we can finished the whole plate. The place is also nice and clean. The service was great. The foods came very quick. Highly recommended!! I'll come back next time for sure :-)
Super authentic and insanely delicious Thai food with unbeatable value. Easily my #1 Thai spot in NYC. Many dishes are unique to this place—you won’t find them elsewhere. No reason not to give 5 stars! We ordered the Goong Chae Nam Pla, Pineapple Curry with Shrimp, and a Tom Yum Soup. Goong Chae Nam Pla – Lightly cooked fresh shrimp topped with a house-made spicy and tangy seafood sauce, served over a bed of lettuce, bitter melon, garlic slices, and mint. The staff told us to eat everything together in one bite, and we struggled a bit to scoop it all up at once—but the moment we did, it made total sense. Each ingredient played its perfect role: the sauce was slightly sour and decently spicy (but not overwhelming—it was the kind of heat that clears your mind in the best way). The shrimp were super fresh and springy, and the garlic, mint, and bitter melon added a clean, refreshing layer after the spice, while the lettuce gave it a crisp, sweet finish. There were six shrimp, and the two of us couldn’t stop—one after another until they were gone. So good! Pineapple Curry with Shrimp – A must-order every time we come here. This sweet, tangy, and spicy pineapple curry goes perfectly with rice. We first tried it because it was served inside a real pineapple, but after one bite, we were hooked. If we didn’t have other dishes to try, we could easily order two servings and waddle home happy. Tom Yum Soup – Nothing much to say except: perfectly authentic. The mushrooms, shrimp, and squid were all incredibly fresh. It was bright, flavorful, and whetted our appetite right away. We ended up getting the Mango Sticky Rice—it’s hands-down the best mango sticky rice we’ve had in New York. Several times before we had come in and been told it wasn’t available that day because the mangoes didn’t meet their quality standards. Surprising for such a small restaurant, but they clearly take their ingredients seriously. The mango was fresh and fragrant, the coconut milk was just the right amount and sweetness. We were too busy being amazed by how good it was to even talk—just bite after bite of pure joy.
Great delicious authentic Thai food. We enjoyed our first time here. Try the mix appetizer. Any curry is good. Crab fried rice is to die for!!! They were generous with the crab meat. Corkage fee for a bottle is 20$.
This restaurant has been a favorite of mine for a while. They have the best fish dishes. The servers are kind and I feel comfortable eating alone (introvert friendly establishment). I’ve been here a few times and I know I will continue to do so.
Authentic and delicious Thai food that are priced reasonably for the neighborhood that it is in. Interior design is warm and gives a nostalgic vibe of Thailand decors. Staff are friendly and nice, albeit often a bit busy rushing around. The appetizer platter is a must-get and is only served as a dine-in option, which was both aesthetically pleasing and delicious with its multiple dipping sauces. The duck curry was decent but not my favorite, for the bamboo shoots was a bit too overpowering in my opinion. My favorite was the special fried rice which I forgot the name of, but if you show them the picture they should be able to tell you. It comes with a mixture of ingredients and you simply mix them together, which ultimately gives you a variety of textures, flavors, and vibrant colors, highly recommended! Thank you for reading and good luck! (:
Authentic Thai food found in Brooklyn! Love everything here. We ordered all of this for 4 people and could barely finish everything. The appetizer platter is so worth it! The lettuce wrap is spicy but so good!!! I think that was the star of the show. Fish was good but it did get cold pretty fast by the time it hit our table. Tom yum soup was a generous portion. Service was good and must have the Thai tea!
Absolutely loved it! The best food and service I’ve ever had! The place is small but very nice and cozy beautifully decorated! The menu has plenty of great options and our server was very friendly and helpful with deciding what to order!the food came out quickly and it was absolutely delicious! Perfect spice’s and flavorful! The service was really amazing, everyone was absolutely amazing, they kept cleaning up and asked if we needed anything else! I highly recommend this place!

If you like Thai food and spicy food, this is the perfect place to make this combination... good presentation and exciting flavors, nice restaurant and good attention

This place came highly recommended by my friend who also heard the recommendation from two of her own friends so the word of mouth of how this restaurant is a must-go-to, is really phenomenal. Came here with my friend for the first time and was blown away by the excellent appetizer sampler. It's a perfect way to try out all the different appetizers to see which you like best-- the only problem was I loved all the appetizers and wanted more of each! I tried out their duck curry and enjoyed it so much. My friend ordered their pad thai but wasn't too impressed with it. Go with the duck curry, friends. Anyway, the interior is nice and cozy, albeit a bit tight on space, and their dining seats and table could use some upgrading as they creaked and seemed a bit old. Staff were welcoming and nice, and overall the atmosphere was super pleasant whether you're eating out with your girlfriends, or if you're on a date. I brought my new (at the time) boyfriend here for his birthday and he also enjoyed the food and experience and he wasn't too big on Thai food before coming here so that says something. If you do like Thai food then this is the best place to become a regular at or to save for special occasions. I think the prices here are fair and not too inflated for the portion sizes you receive. If you think you'll like it, you definitely will so come try them out for yourself, you won't be disappointed!
Despite the colorful appearance, these dishes were a bit light in taste and spice for me. I do recommend the appetizer platter though, as some of the bites (like the thai sausage) had great depth and flavor that the other dishes lacked. The decor is cozy and the Boran staff is kind.

Very delicious and good service. Thanks for the recommendations to the waiter, the appetizer chicken kebabs with peanut sauce are very tasty, but I chose spicy pasta for myself, I didn't know it was spicy .Please warn customers about the spiciness of the dish.
The place is small but very cute. I had the Shrimp Cakes which were ok. The Plum Sauce that came with it was good. The service is nothing to write home about. They have some good lunch specials. They have Wine, Sake and two kinds of Beer. To be honest if I want Thai food in this neighborhood, I'd rather go to Rua or Untable.

Around 7:30 PM on February 24, I went to pick up my takeout order. The man at the front counter (I don’t know if he’s the owner or an employee) had an absolutely terrible attitude. He kept a dark, unfriendly expression the entire time and spoke in a cold, impatient tone, as if customers were an inconvenience to him. In the service industry, basic courtesy and respect are the bare minimum. Instead, I was treated with hostility for simply picking up food . This was one of the worst customer service experiences I’ve had. If this is the standard of service here, you seriously need to reconsider whether you should be in this business at all.
