Vine de fin de semana con mi pareja desde Santander y acabamos en el Skala sin esperarlo. Y menuda grata sorpresa. La comida está increíble (obligatorio probar la carcamusa, impresionante), pero lo mejor de este sitio, sin duda, es el trato que hemos recibido. Rahma es encantadora y súper profesional y David es maravilloso y muy atento, una máquina. Si pasáis por Toledo, es parada obligatoria. 💗

Una Taberna escondida en un callejon , centrico . Puedes pedir medias raciones y asi probar varios platos tipicos , muy bien de precio y muy gustosa comida . Para repetir 👍😎

Es un local con la esencia de taberna de siempre. No es muy grande y está muy concurrida. La comida es tradicional y con los platos típicos, todo servido en cazuelas de barro. Hay pinxos, raciones y medias raciones, con bastante variedad y cantidad. La comida es casera y muy rica, para comer rápido y llenarse sin vaciarse el bolsillo. Además, si dejas bote, lo celebran con mucho arte y alegría. Tiene un ambiente muy ameno y tienen un trato muy agradable y ameno. Seguro que repetimos cuando volvamos a Toledo.

La comida tiene una relación calidad-precio inmejorable. Todo estaba super rico y a un precio muy razonable. La atención fue excelente; todo el personal fue muy amable y atento en todo momento. Sin duda, es un lugar altamente recomendable.

Great traditional bar vibe. Lively and loud. Quick friendly service. Can stand at the bar and eat and soak up the atmosphere. The food is fantastic, especially the pork stew ( Caracamusas). Tender pork with a mild spice warmth. The portions are huge. Get the smaller portions so can try other stuff. The Tinto Verano is super refreshing, perfect for washing the meal down. Don't miss this!

Wow! This is an absolute cannot miss opportunity in Toledo to try the best authentic Spanish cuisine in an authentic environment with great prices! Most restaurants in Toledo are overpriced, bland and aimed to rob tourists without filling your stomach. This is the absolute opposite. Delicious car camisas with bread. Eggs with chorizo. Patatas Skala is a must. Very warm and cozy. Highly recommended for an authentic experience.

The servers are very friendly and helpful to non-Spanish speakers. I ordered half-portion dishes, which are small enough to try. The prices are very reasonable. However, you may need to use Google Maps, as Apple Maps might not find the place.

All popular places and those that come recommend, #jamesblick, are crazy busy. But well worth the wait. We were lucky to get a table within 5 minutes. No menus in English but you can point and pick what you want. We had an order of the pork stew and sautéed mushrooms in garlic. The mushrooms were ok but the stew was amazing. Would we go back? Yes yes yes.

Hidden gem up a non-descript alley that is full of locals. Food was great, 1/2 racion dishes were very generous sized and the staff were friendly. Prices were great too (which explains the locals). Like how they had many of their prepared tapas in a fridge display at the counter. So for example when you ordered a croquette, they would take it and fry it. For 1.5 euros, it's really amazing. This is also one of the few tavernas I know that do not charge for bread. Definite recommend in Toledo. Look for the red sign in the alley

It's the first tavern in Toledo, very, very goog food. I had a vegan option (champiñón all ajillo) and my husband had the carcamussa. We ordered half portions because they are big ones. Fair price, lovely place, happy waiters. I strongly recommend it. The waiter was even concerned whether I was just vegan or had food allergies: perfect!

This tavern was so good, we went back the following night. Our rookie mistake was to order everything upfront. Big mistake, as the meals are so big. The locals would order their drinks and first dish, then order more if still hungry. We had the stewed pork dish, which was amazing. We also had the mushroom dish, washing it all down with beer. Fantastic, but walked home feeling very well fed. Second night, ordered a half portion of the stewed pork (which seemed as generous as the full portion), potato wedges (half size), and a calamari dish (full size) and washed it down with sangria. Again, delicious but too much for two people. We ended up doing takeaway on the wedges. The staff are friendly and patient with my poor Spanish. We would definitely go back to this tavern and recommend it highly.

The staff was super friendly, making it a great place to be, and the food was amazing! Our Carcamusas and Champinones Al Ajilo were delicious, totally worth the hype. And that cold beer on a hot Toledo day? Perfect.

We visited Toledo for the day and wanted to eat like a local and we hit the Jackpot with Taberna Skala. I love these earthy traditional, no thrills places to eat. Simply delicious food served by people who want you to eat their food. We tried the local port stew called Carcamusas with some potatoes and both were fantastic, especially with the bread to mop up the sauce. Also on the side we had morcilla, croquets and fried meat wrapped in ham and cheese. All three were super tasty, especially the morcilla. It was a mix of locals and tourists and had a real buzz about the place and I just wish the UK had these types of places. Unfortunately I live in a place where people flock to the ultra processed chain crappy restaurants or get a person with a filthy disgusting looking deliveroo bag on their back that delivers them garbage to eat. Anyway back on topic, Taberna Skala was a wonderful place to spend an hour or so and I will return. Amazing.

JAW. DROPPING. GOOD. We decided to give this place a try and we were NOT disappointed. I could have eaten everything on this menu. What we got: -Callos -Morcilla -Champiñones al ajillo -Oreja a la plancha -Higaditos de pollo -Torrejas The crunch from the pig ears was incredible, the morcilla was to die for both with its flavors and texture. WOW! The best garlic mushrooms I’ve had along with the callos - I was in heaven! We wanted to eat more but were so stuffed. If we had been in Toledo longer this is 100% a repeat place. Everything was delicious, service was great, and the lively music added to the homely atmosphere.

Great Tapas with large portions. Be careful not to over order like we did. 2-3 tapas for 2 hungry people will be more than enough. The place was filled mostly by locals but with enough tourists that they knew how to help us order and made us feel welcome. Close to the main walking route but out of the way just enough. The ambience of this place is like your back in the old old days, its like nothing has change. And it makes it more authentic Place to dine in and experience Toledo. The staff was super nice doesn’t take advantage of tourist she make sure to give me smaller portion since were just eating for 2. Then came the Food.. it was great!! the mushroom and carcamusa is love!!! And the chorizo delicious! Ill skip the patatas bravas 😝 I also love the coffee!! Price is just right.

Nos dijeron que era la taberna más antigua de Toledo y que se comía bien y para allá que fuimos. Hay que ir pronto. Había mucha, muchísima gente... Buena comida. Pedimos medias raciones, menos mal, recomendado por el camarero que nos atendió. Probé la carcamusa. Para mí, un poco picante, pero me gustó. El servicio, correcto.

Llegamos de casualidad a esta taberna tan mítica de Toledo y, de hecho, aún me sorprendo de que encontrásemos mesa con toda la gente que había. Es un local castizo por el que no pasa el tiempo y en el que la acústica y ventilación no son su fuerte, pero sin duda, es una experiencia que recomiendo. Los camareros son simpáticos y atentos. La comida estaba muy buena y las raciones eran abundantes: nosotros tomamos migas, tigres, lagarto y carcamusas. ¡Recomendable para vivir el Toledo más tradicional!

Fuimos a cenar por recomendación de un guía pero la verdad es que nos defraudó, la comida no nos pareció de gran calidad y para mí no representa la gastronomía de la ciudad. Las carcamusas no nos gustaron nada, las patatas blandas y no sabían los ingredientes de la salsa (cuidado si eres intolerante a algo), no sabían recomendar que pedir, bastante desidia por parte del personal. Lo mejor la oreja a la plancha, estaba muy buena. La morcilla estaba frita de más, lo que la hace seca. Para picar algo rápido antes de comer o cenar puede valer, para mí poco más.

Tiny place in the heart of Toledo offering very good food. The meat stew they make was the best thing we tried. It was hard to get seated as part of the restaurant was closed for construction so they might have had maybe 5 tables total. It was crammed with people and loud so hard to talk but we were here for the food, and the food was really good!

La comida estaba buena, pero el servicio arruinó totalmente la experiencia. Éramos un grupo de seis y, aunque había muchas mesas vacías, el personal puso los ojos en blanco en cuanto entramos, como si molestáramos. Después nos ignoraron durante bastante tiempo, y la camarera con el tatuaje “222” en el pecho fue especialmente grosera y antipática. Es una lástima, porque los platos estaban realmente buenos, pero la actitud y la falta de hospitalidad hicieron que no nos sintiéramos bienvenidos. Ojalá los dueños mejoren el servicio, porque la cocina lo merece

i don't care how good is your food/ drink. The thing is, only 3 server + 1 chef for the whole restaurant with overwhelmed customers waited to be seated. No one came to tidy up the tables after previous customers gone and numbers of new customers stood there more than 15min for someone to guide them to be seated. Meanwhile, some servers were doing re-ordering of clean cups. Rediculously inefficiency I've ever seen.

Experienced discrimination from this restaurant! There is two parts of the restaurant and there are people smoking the part close to the door, the waiter guided us to the inner part for sitting , it’s really stuffy! And we were 2 people sitting on the middle with better light and she requested us to sit in the corner and said the table we are sitting now : that’s not for 2 persons, okay, we accepted to change to the corner table which is darker and more stuffy, later on there were 2 westerners sitting there and it’s okay for them! So that’s totally invisible discrimination! We are Asians and i can feel we are treated differently, that’s totally racist!

The least you can do to operate a restaurant is to clean the floors, have an English menu and please install an exhaust.. The entire restaurant is full of smoke. There was grilled hair in our grill too! This place is NOT a tourist trap, because no tourist will end up here except the ones fooled by Google reviews. This is a disgusting place. By far the most disgusting place I've seen in Spain!
