Opinions de Kengo Sushi Tracy
First time in for dinner last night. Was quickly seated, drink ordered and had a chance to look at the menu. We shared the garlic edamame, green Dragon roll and a crazy roll. Also ordered a dinner box to go. The edamame was great. Little punch of heat but not overpowering. Loved the rolls, the sauce added good flavor. The rolls were fresh. Fast service, excellent customer service, good price point. Cute and clean location. One bathroom and it was clean and well stocked. Nice atmosphere. Loved our visit and can't wait to go back!
Best sushi in Tracy!! My wife and I ordered 4 rolls and a Sake Don. Delicious, so fresh and very generous portions. Amazing value for the quality!!
Extraordinary customer service, great food, hot tempura at a reasonable price 😋 👌
Best sushi in Tracy! And I have tried all the sushi spots! This spot hits different and is so fresh and delicious. The pink dragon roll is my favorite! Great service and the restaurant is a vibe.
Always friendly staff with impeccable service. This is my kids favorite sushi place and love that they are treated with the same respect as an adult in this establishment.
My new sushi spot! I had the Oh My God roll. It's pricey at $15, but it was amazing! They have cheaper rolls, but I was treating myself. The ingredients seem really fresh. The staff was friendly and the food came out really quickly. The restaurant and bathroom are both super clean!
The size of the nigiri is super worth the price that’s the main reason I go. And there’s several rolls for an affordable price too.
I normally get take-out from Kengo since it is on my way home. I think their sashimi is the freshest in town - and most reasonably priced given the size and tastiness! I also like the rainbow roll from here. All the servers seem super nice. I would eat in the restaurant more often if they served wine :)
I happen to luck out and was off that day and was looking for some Japanese food. this restaurant location has been turned over several times by several owners including another Japanese food restaurant owner, I think. I entered and sat at the counter since I dined alone. It was great food! Finally, some good Japanese food in Tracy! I have taken several friends and my family dines here as well. They are now regulars. Not because I took them. But because of the obvious great food and atmosphere. I remember our friends dining here and stayed til closing. They let us stay and chat and had a great time. We appreciated it so much! I get a complimentary sushi from being one of the first, if not the first patron. Just sheer luck. Thank you, Kengo sushi!
Kengo Sushi has been my FAVORITE spot ever since I found out about it. I’ve tried their sushi rolls, ramen, gyoza, sashimi, bbq ribs, chicken karrage, and much more. And I now feel that i could say there is nothing they serve that dissapoints. I LOVE everything about this restaurant. From their food, to setting, to their workers. My last server was named Caitlyn I believe and she was genuinely so friendly and understanding which is what makes a perfect waitress. In all I have zero complaints and LOVE everything about it!!
Best Japanese food in Tracy! We've tried most places in Tracy, and Kengo appears to have the freshest and tastiest fish! I always judge by unagi nigiri and sake (salmon) sashimi, and it's on point. Haven't dined in, but it's a quick pickup (no delivery). Miso could be improved but no big deal (we make our own at home). Gyoza and ebi (prawn) tempura are also great, and reasonable prices too. If you want Japanese food and are in town, look no further!
I love this place. Delicious food. Great prices and excellent service. I never miss the chance to have lunch here when I’m in town.
I am very pleased with the awesome service given with such politeness. My daughter and I come every chance we can to support their business. From front to back service is just amazing!
The service here was so friendly. I ordered take out and they labeled everything for me. The fish is high quality, but I mainly came here for the uni which they ran out of ☹ I was very disappointed. But it happens. I moved here from Miami and I have been on the hunt for uni since I came to California. I guess I gotta keep on searchin for that sea urchin 😉 UPDATE: if you're going to eat sushi, eat from here!! I've tried a few other popular sushi restaurants in town to my disappointment. The other restaurants quality of food and fish does not match Kengo sushi.
Went there with my family. We each got a roll and a lunch item. Very tasty but my only issue is the rolls are cut so thinly. I like thicker pieces of sushi but this is just a personal opinion and I'll definitely go again if I'm in the mood for some japanese food.
One of the best in town! I love the atmosphere. Nice and clean. Open spacious feel for a little space. Prompt and polite service. We dine there at least once a month and I've NEVER had a bad experience. I highly recommend this restaurant. A little hole in the wall that you wouldn't expect!
Best sushi in all of Tracy. Consistency is the key. When I crave food it's because of my memory of the place and this place is so good that I cant stop thinking of it. At least a twice a month place. Prices are amazing and you feel satisfied when you leave.
This is my absolute favorite sushi place ever. The service is fantastic. The restaurant looks classy. It's very very clean. Everyone is friendly. The food comes out fast and it's great quality. Everything is perfect about this place! I've been coming here for years!
Service with a smile, sushi is cold when it should be cold and sake hot when it should be hot. Honestly they need a bigger place and the chairs are a little uncomfortable. That doesn't stop me from ordering to go though.
Always super delicious 😋 Lion roll, poki roll, sashimi, seaweed salad, tempura and tempura ice cream are among my favorites.
Had to try out a Sushi restaurant with the same name I have (well, middle name anyway). It did not disappoint. Had their Dragon roll and it was one of the best Dragon rolls I've had. The place is tucked away in a shopping center, so it's easy to miss. The service was very good, but the only thing I didn't care for was that their music was a bit too loud, especially for a lunch crowd.
I think this is the best sushi place in the area. The music they played was great, and the food was delicious. They had a great playlist going. The staff was friendly, and the place was clean. I had a good time and left the place with a full stomach. If you haven’t visited yet, it’s worth the stop. I will be a returning customer.
This place is underrated. The service was good and food was delicious. We had the oh my god roll, spicy crunchy roll and the green dragon roll for the main food. As an appetizer we had gyozas.
ABSOLUTELY worth every penny spent! We had the most flavorful Sushi here!!! BEST EVER!!! I wasn't a fan of the assorted fish bowl and greens but the top notch sushi keeps Kengo a 5 star restaurant for me. Our waiter forgot our edamame and didn't fill our waters so there could be some improvements. But overall a good experience where we'll come back for more.
10/10! My boyfriend and I unknowingly got there right after they opened. We were the first people there but soon after several other guests came in. It’s really good to see people ready to eat their food so early! Sad they weren’t serving alcohol at the time because of their license but the food was excellent. We ordered the chicken katsu box and salmon donburi. Our server was really nice and welcoming! The prices were on point too!
Highly recommend their sashimi!!! The best one in Tracy!!! Love their sashimi and rolls but not so much for their tempura! The fish is super fresh! The rolls are nicely made!!! I am debating whether I should give 4 or 5 stars (in my opinion, it should be 4.5, which is more accurate). Their service is really good and fast (When I get there around the estimate pick-up time, the food is ready to go), so I gave it a 5-stars given that the staff were also friendly and they gave me a lot of ginger and wasabi (Some restaurants require extra pay for these). I will definitely come back for their sashimi, sushi and rolls!!!
My friend and I were looking for a good sushi place around town and we came upon kengo sushi. The restaurant is a good size and seats about 50 people or more. It is also very clean and modern looking. The staff and chefs are super friendly and helpful. For appetizer I ordered a shrimp tempura which are 4 pieces of fried shrimp and come with a sauce and it was delicious. My friend ordered unagi sushi roll and I ordered the simba rolls. Both were tasty, but I liked the simba roll more. However in my future visits I will try their other rolls, but I'm pretty sure they're all gonna be as tasty and fresh as what we had today. All in all great food with great service. Highly recommended
Very welcoming, great service, awesome atmosphere, sushi was delicious
Delicious fresh food. I ordered the seafood yaki udon and it was amazing. My friend ordered some sushi rolls and he loved them too. Great atmosphere and friendly server. Highly recommend this place!

Delicious fresh food. I ordered the seafood yaki udon and it was amazing. My friend ordered some sushi rolls and he loved them too. Great atmosphere and friendly server. Highly recommend this place!
Food was delicious and fresh, service was great. Will definitely come again. 10/10
Absolutely delicious! There were so many options to pick from and none of them disappointed! The staff was so friendly and attentive they absolutely made our dining experience the perfect addition of our trip!
Wonderful food came with 2 friends and we had a wonderful time. Food was delicious and atmosphere and staff are wonderful. Will definitely take a trip to come here again!
Super friendly and yummy yummy food!! Decorations were super adorable and the atmosphere was very relaxing! Their rolls were delectable. Their desert is fantastic. Best cheesecake I’ve ever had! Will go again!
Stopped by here on the way up Nor Cal. 10 minutes off the 5 fwy. Don’t let the dumpy strip mall fool you. This place didn’t disappoint! Kids got ramen and I got the pink dragon roll. Everything was really fresh and tasty. Really good. Hubs ordered the Washington roll and he enjoyed it. Anything with the brown sauce and spicy mayo is delish in my opinion! We also got a rainbow roll. Everything tasted delicious. Only $75 with tax for all that. Would easily come back again if we happened by the area.

We did take out for a birthday. Been 6 to 8 months since we have been here. Sushi roll portions were smaller than I remembered. Taste and freshness were excellent. Same quality except for portion sizing.
I was surprised to see that it was completely empty on a rainy Saturday night in Tracy… so I decided to give Kengo Sushi a try after seeing it packed the last time I saw it. Upon walking in, I immediately sensed that it was going to be a good experience forsure. If you’re looking to get decent Japanese food in Tracy… this is one of them. Here’s how my experience went thus far: Food: 4/5 Me and my partner got the 4pc shrimp tempura… which happened to be $8. Not bad considering it was inflation, honestly, and the batter of the tempura was very crispy. I found, however, that it contained a little too less shrimp. The very aromatic tea really made up for the thick batter though… that’s for sure. We also got the Simba Roll and King Kong Roll… both of which were our favorites. They were so good to the point I had to take them home to leave them as leftovers LOL. Ramen wise, we got the Korean Spicy Ramen and the Shoyu Ramen. I was a bit disappointed considering I wanted actual ramen noodles from scratch, but instant noodles were just as good — hehe. They included a lot of veggies and toppings alongside pork for my shoyu, which definitely helped with my culinary palette. The spicy ramen’s level was just right. Service: 5/5 The waitresses were very friendly upon arrival, and kept on checking on us throughout our meal…. and they gave us quite good recommendations. Atmosphere: 4/5 I was quite fascinated to find that the entrance to the bathroom was identical to going to a cabana or a party. I like the overall design of the restaurant, but it seemed a little bit too dark, and I felt a little squeezed. In addition, I also felt like there could’ve been more variety, in terms of drinks, and in terms of rolls. Not trying to be critical, but if there was room for improvement, I would’ve spaced the tables around a little bit bit more. Overall, I had a really good experience, and I can’t wait to come here again with my friends.
I had a decent experience at Kengo Sushi. The food was delicious, service was good, only thing that was concerning is that the place didn't seem too clean. Table we sat at still had somw crumbs, napkins had a food stain on them, menu's were greasy, overall it just seems like they could do a better job when cleaning up their tables after they have been used.
A bit pricey. But the quality is there! I especially loved the salmon. But the Mackerel and Yellowtail were good too! The green tea wasn't brewed at the right temperature, so that was a bust. But it was so cute how they brought it out in a tiny teapot. The presentation was good. The service is very fast, but my waiter wasn't very friendly. Kept looking at me with big eyes but didn't smile? I know smiling isn't required but it felt weird because they didn't talk. The part that really made me take a star away was at the end, I was only there 30 minutes (half the restaurant was empty) when she came to take my plate I was going to ask for dessert, but before I could say anything, she just put my check on the table and walked away. Mind you! I hadn't said more than my order to this person. And I was completely silent while I ate! 🥲 Idk maybe they were having a bad day, but I came here to treat myself. Kinda expect better especially when I'm paying $3 per piece of nigiri.
First time here in quite a long time. The food was good and the staff was great. Rolls are decent sized and price is on par with similar places.
I’m not sure if I like this place better than Mikasa but it is at least comparable. The atmosphere here is better. It’s brighter and seems more open. I had their rainbow dragon roll and it was really good. I think the food is about the same caliber as mikasa but it’s a nicer place.

Update: We went back for dinner and the food was ok. However, we sent back a fried roll because it appeared frothy, pasty yellow, and tasted weird. They probably need to change their frying oil. Compared to our other visits here, the food was less than quality, staff was unfriendly and rude, and the tables/chairs were dirty. Not sure if I'm going back. Previously (like 5 months ago):The quality of their fish is impeccable. Their sashimi is delicious and fresh. Absolutely love this place! Great service and they have an awesome selection of rolls. Definitely going back!
I love kengo sushi but they need to be better about their miso soups. Either put them in a different bag or something. Every time I get home a soup has slipped out and spills all over my other food. Very disappointing. Also I’m not sure why but lately they only give one little container of ginger and wasabi and always order over $100 worth in sushi and food.

Kengo Sushi in Tracy, California has good food, but poor service. The dinner entrées were actually good sizes and very tasty. However, the server seemed to be having a bad day and taking it out on the diners. Our server slammed the dishes on the table each time. A table next to us complained about the server's behavior. We had a party of 5. My mom tipped well, but the server snatched the credit card receipt off the table without saying thank you or goodbye. The server never refilled our water glasses.

Terrible, and expensive for safeway quality rolls. I am an avid sushi eater, and i recently moved to Tracy. I ordered 3 rolls from this place, the reviews seemed great, i took a bite of each roll and threw them all out. The sauces were terrible, and flavor gave me a headache. Quality was slightly better than safeway sushi. Never coming back. I recommended yanahi sushi in dublin. Worth the drive!!!!
Went there today, been there once before. I had the new tempura 9$, the yogi yogi 9$(I am not sure this was the name) and california 5$. We were two adults and we left hungry. Definitely not enough food. Flavor was ok but rolls were falling apart, not enough rice. Service was great, location and ambience also great. Sadly, food was lacking.
Very bad experience at Kengo. I just left the restaurant after visiting on February 14, 2025. Surprisingly, the place was not full, even though it was Valentine’s Day. My husband, my two children, and I were seated, and they gave us the menu. However, no one came to take our order. Understanding that it was a busy day with in-person customers and Uber orders, we patiently waited without saying anything. But then we started noticing that the staff was paying attention to other customers who arrived after us. We finally asked a waiter to take our order, but he seemed annoyed when he did. After that, we saw that at least five tables with people who arrived later were having their orders taken and receiving their food, while we kept being ignored despite asking multiple times. This whole experience lasted around 50 minutes, and it was extremely frustrating and disappointing. We were made to feel very unwelcome. I will never return to this restaurant. It was a terrible experience.
The sushi was AWFUL. The imitation fish cake wasn't even shredded in my roll...no joke, they just rolled the whole thing up in rice. Disgusting.
