Restaurant exceptionnel. Nous nous sommes arrêtés à ce petit restaurant de rue par ses avis. Ce petit restaurant n’est en réalité qu’un des plus grands de la région. Tout a été parfait, le service est attentionné. Le chef est exceptionnel. C’est tout simplement le meilleur repas que j’ai mangé en Amérique centrale et du Sud, et à un prix défiant toute concurrence. Foncez y !!

Ce petit restaurant perdu au bord d'une route dans lequel nous nous somme arrêté, sans aucune attente, a été une véritable surprise. Service dans des plats originaux, des gérants très sympathique malgré la barrière de la langue et des plats dignes de restaurant gastronomique tant dans le goût que dans la presentation. Un chef qui merite de voir ses tables remplis tant on le voyait prendre plaisir à cuisiner.

The best food we had in Tulum (area). Really beautifully arranged dishes and the flavours were incredible. Amazing prices (unmatched anywhere taking into account the quality) was the cherry on top.

Visited this restaurant with a local guide while we were in Tulum. We were very impressed with the taste of the food and the quality of the ingredients. We had tacos, quesadillas and the tetela and all were delicious. As we sat and ate many people came and went to pick up fresh tortillas. Seems to be popular with locals and tourists. Would highly recommend stopping by in the area for some amazing food!

Nuestra mejor comida en México sin duda. Tienen molino propio de maíz, y los platos son una verdadera delicia, diferentes y no típicos. Los tacos ahogados son una pasada… en definitiva, un sitio obligatorio en la península del Yukatan. El trato es inmejorable.

Una experiencia única. Pareciera un puestecito de tacos de carretera convencional, pero cuando llegas te sorprendes con la cantidad de detalles que tienen. Mobiliario cuidado, cerámica única. Los he visitado en varias ocasiones y todo esta riquísimo, los alimentos los preparan al momento. 👌 Los tacos, los chilaquiles, la tetela, el arroz con leche creo que son mis favoritos, no podría decidirme. Seguro regresaré pronto para probar todos los platos del menú. Super recomendado, todo muy bien servido, presentación de lujo y a precio super accesible. Chan Paal es de esos lugares que hacen que valga la pena levantarse temprano. Una tortillería–antojaria mexicana en el pueblo de Macario donde el desayuno se vive con calma, con sabor y con mucho corazón. Aquí todo invita a quedarse: el olor a maíz recién trabajado, el ambiente sencillo y acogedor, y una cocina que respeta lo esencial. Es un lugar al que se viene a desayunar bien, sin prisas, disfrutando cada bocado. El café de olla es simplemente maravilloso: aromático, reconfortante, de esos que abrazan y te ponen de buen humor desde el primer sorbo. Y los platillos… todos, sin excepción, están llenos de sabor y cariño. Se nota el cuidado, la mano casera y el respeto por lo que se hace. Mención especial para los hotcakes: sin exagerar, los mejores que he comido. Chan Paal no es solo una buena opción para desayunar, es un sitio al que dan ganas de volver. This is hands down the best food in the whole area - even after trying some of the fancier restaurants in Tulum we kept coming back here for authentic Oaxacan food. I think I’ll be dreaming about the fish tacos pastor for years. These guys are true chefs, each plate comes out as a piece of art and tastes even better than it looks. Best tacos I’ve ever had in my life, best enchiladas too. Corn is organic and they mill it themselves from ancient heirloom grains. They give a free appetizer with every meal which is this delicious crispy tortilla covered with bean sauces. My wife has significant dietary restrictions and they were able to not only accommodate her but they made her something totally unique and delicious with no dairy or oil (ask for a Tetela con champiñones sin queso). If you’re looking for a place to support local artisans making food with Love, this is it.

This place is incredible! We got the shrimp tacos, blue corn pancakes, tetelas, and the beef tacos. No photos because we ate everything too quickly. Everything was 10/10 tasty and the staff is incredibly friendly. This is off the beaten path for sure but it's on the way from Tulum to Valladolid and is 1000% worth a stop.

We first stopped here on our way back from Chichén Itzá to Tulum - and enjoyed it so much that we came back the very next day. Amazing, delicious, too cheap!! If you pass this restaurant and don’t stop for a meal you are not a foodie. The chef Eduardo is an artist and a perfectionist. His pride in his creations is phenomenal. We went back as many days as we had left in Tulum, we wish we had more just to enjoy Eduardo’s dishes. He is a very humble chef and Roseita (sp?) was excellent as well. This is another level of Mexican food for a fraction of the prices of the garbage offered in Tulum. Well worth the drive and even an Uber in my opinion. Ask for the proprietary habernero salsa in the eye dropper if you like it picante!!

Roadside kitchen with dang near Michelin star food. In the Vet Plaza and easy to miss, we had to U turn to get to it, but much worth it. The only thing was it took very long to get food, but there was a large group ahead of us. Once the food came it was impressive and delicious. If you are in this area do stop in if you have a little bit of time!

Great lunch on our way back to Tulum. I was impressed to find such a place just on the side of the road. Their dishes have more of a gourmet style, liked the Gordita and the fish tacos. You should stop by!

The shrimp and garlic empanada is out of this world! We also tried the asada tacos and pork gorditas. I can not choose a favorite! It is all so AMAZING!! I loved watching them make the food from scratch. I am a huge fan of mesa. The great news is that it is literally right down the street from my home. Just right as you enter Macario Gomez. I ordered the food to go, not realizing that they close at 4. I was there shortly after, but they were gracious enough to take my order without any complaint that they were closed. I only found out when I asked about their closing time. Everyone was so kind and sweet. Highly recommend. It is 20 km from Tulum.

Our favorite hidden gem in Mexico. We’ve had here the most authentic cuisine fron all our trip in Cancun and Tulum. The longanisa de Valladolid was great, the drinks were perfect, and the service was friendly. We spent 400 pesos for 2 meals and drinks! An even better if is the toilet, which led us to have concerns initially when it comes to food safety.

You need to stop here if you live in the area or on the way to Coba ruins. Many locals eat here. We waited for almost an hour (although they said 20 min) but the food was very good! I have a home near Tulum and have eaten at numerous spots up and down this little stretch of road, but Chanpaal reigns supreme! Holy cow, if you want a little gourmet Mexican food, tucked in the jungle, this is the place to go! Every dish is created with love and amazingly delicious. You can tell the chef is an artist! The serving staff is also amazing. It is wonderful to see how much they all care! The staff are very accommodating to me, being a vegan. The mushrooms and handmade tortillas in my dish were outstanding.

Ditch the tourist popular spots in the city and come to this amazing spot. Food is amazing, ambiance is cool and laid back. True authentic food made right in front of you. Came for dinner and loved it so much came right back for breakfast the following morning.

Es un lugar muy original. Venden tortillas azules, amarillas y rojas. Un lugar en crecimiento por descubrir y que requiere promoción. La calidad de los alimentos y la presentación es excelente. Un poco despacio. Excelente si llevan con quién conversar. En un futuro el servicio será más rápido y no olvidará un platillo. De lo demás todo muy bien. Hay estacionamiento.

This is a cute little place. The coffee with spices and sugar was the highlight, but we also ordered the Mayan Olmette and the pancakes. The food was good but it took a while to prepare. It’s understandable since there were only three people there making the food to order, and they were very friendly, but this is more of a lazy Sunday type place, whereas we were on our way to sightseeing.

Más de una hora para servir una barbacoa y que además estaba súper chiquita y carísima, ya había venido y hoy el servicio fue lamentable, lento, malo y arrogantes al hacerles saber los errores.
