I had a very enjoyable experience here. The place has very good hospitality. The service that was provided during lunch by the 2 ladies were very neighborly and attentive. The food was fresh and the portions were generous. Overall, this place has a great vibe.
We liked the food, it was fresh and had good flavor. Great home made cheesecake, it's not a usual cheesecake, it tastes different, but we liked it. Reasonable price, for quality food. We will be coming back.
The best Greek cuisine in the area hands down! It's nice to know I don't have to drudge myself all the way to Astoria or Long Island City for some great Greek food. A local gem of a restaurant, indeed. As a lover of quality food, do yourself a favor and pay them a visit. You won't be disappointed ☺
We chose this restaurant for its attractive outdoor dining area with umbrellas, but we were also impressed with the friendly service and delicious food, generously portioned. Best avgolemono around! Plenty of street parking. Looking forward to our next visit.
Food is excellent, friendly service, reasonable prices. We ate on the patio on a nice Indian summer day. Nicely decked out. Very pleasant dining experience overall.
Eat at the place rather than ordering delivery. They had some false advertising on Uber Eats the last couple of times I tried, but the food is very good, the wait staff is good, and you’ll enjoy your experience if you actually go there in person and eat.
Best Greek food I've ever had. Lula is a great waitress. Pork kebabs were great, with a Greek salad, garlic mash potatoes were with real potatoes and fresh green beans.
food is fantastic. the place is cozy. nice vibe
I LOVE 💙🇬🇷 ALL there Gyro and Souvlaki platters (pictured is mixed meat of everything).Make sure to have there Lemon potatoes, instead of fries. Also try there chicken and lemon rice soup its savory, comforting, and authentic homestyle. Enjoy these signature favorites with your family, its outdoors for now, but once they reopen I saw they have a nice party room for private events This Greek spot stands out from the rest ❤.
Absolutely love this place. Food is always fresh and delicious. Laid back atmosphere and such friendly service.
This is not a restaurant that wants you to think it is fancy. This is a restaurant that wants you to enjoy home style Greek food. The portions are big and the taste is delicious. Just when you think you had enough, Lola tempts you with her cheese cake. If you absolutely are too full you MUST bring a piece with you. Very cozy setting and terrific staff. Why did I wait to come.
Visiting from San Antonio Tx., The gyro meat wad the best I've had in a long time. Wonderful service. Great fries too!
A rare combination of authentic home quality food and attentive service. Everyone just loved this establishment
The food and the service is a 10/10 and the restaurant is beautiful
Great service & excellent food!!! Took my parents there for the first time and the service was great! Loola, our server was awesome! She helped us picking out dishes, that pleased my parents. We enjoyed the food and experience there. Will definitely be going back again.
Stopped here on a whim because it was close to home and it was going to be a quick meal. Although this is a small restaurant, we were easily seated. The ambiance is very homey, lots of pots and pans and kitchen things on the walls. Old vintage pictures of family and some string instruments also were used as décor. The menu is typically Greek food, but if you are not into Greek food, there is a larger than large selection of burgers to choose from, along with salads galore. Our waitress told us about the nights specials of whole fish and other fresh fish entrees which sounded really delicious, but we stuck with the quick Gyro. I had the chicken gyro with my side of lemon potatoes. It was a large portion, fresh and very tasty. Sorry I forgot the picture this time, but I was a member of the clean plate club tonight. "G" ordered the regular gyro with the side of vegetable soup. I did not hear any complaints from that side of the table. We saw other patrons with different versions of kebabs and salads. There were quite an array of different orders within the restaurant. When I came in to be seated, it looked as if the owner was serving dinner to a couple who was less fortunate than the rest of us. It was so refreshing to see that an establish was taking the time to care for others who needed a little help. For that reason alone I would probably come back here, plus I did eye the hamburger and it looked amazing. There is some outside seating and parking is on the street but no meters.
The place is clean and the service is excellent. I had a gyro, lamb and beef mixed, and it was over filled with crispy and tender meat. Next time I may spring for extra tzatziki, though. I'm glad I ordered it with fries, they were flavorful, not greasy, and ample. My friend ordered a similar dish, pork and chicken souvlaki, and he thought it exceptional as well. This is a small place, and they only have one rest room, and even though the restaurant was only half full, both times I went l had to wait (the second time I just left).
First time I walked in. They were all very professional and nice people willing to accommodate. I ordered the Gluten free Falafel and Chicken nuggets. Both were very well seasoned and delicious! They make Everything on the spot! So there will be a tad bit of a wait. However, they let you call in advance! Place is neat and clean!
Absolutely amazing Greek food. Everything we ate was delicious. The spices and flavors kept us wanting more. Everyone at the table had something different and shared a taste with each other. The portions were more then any of us could eat. The staff were just as amazing as the food. Some of the best Greek food I have ever had.
Awesome neighborhood gem justly proud of their food. Also do takeout though the space is nice. Super friendly service. Portion size is ridiculous: you will take food home. Some healthy salad options if desired...
Wow I am really impressed with the food, service, and cleanliness of this restaurant. The outside of the restaurant looks way different than the inside. The atmosphere is solid and the waitresses are really experienced and nice. The food portions are very good, and the flavoring is all there for a Mediterranean spot. Definitely a returning customer.
Great place for real and authentic Greek food!!! Loula our waitress was incredibly helpful from start to finish. I absolutely loved the outdoor seating. The big beautiful courtyard they have in the back and all the little tables they have set up outside in the front are really nice. It really makes you feel like you are in Greece!!! I highly recommend this place 5 stars out 5 for sure!!!
Went here for lunch and in a county overstaturated with Dunkin’ Donuts and watered down cuisines, the food, design and the welcoming waitstaff was such a vacation from the duldrum of cuisines in this area. It’s not a place if your in a budget, but why not have a high standard of excellence for yourself. Had the vegetarian moussaka with bechamel that melted in my mouth and can’t wait to come back for the falafel!
Great food, excellent service.
We had a great experience. the gyro combo was tasty and full of gyro meat. the fries were perfect. nice crisp! the falafel balls were tasty as well with the sauce dip. the spanikopia was just as good. Had a good Greek beer fix. definitely would recommend if your looking for a good Greek meal.
This review is based on a Delivery review through Grubhub, not a pick up or dine in. Short Story - Good food, excellent way to handle a situation, will go there to dine in as well as order from again. Long story: I placed the order probably around 11:05AM (Sunday), got the email saying it was being worked on and left it at that. After waiting till the time it was supposed to arrive, I noticed the delivery time had changed by 20 minutes. Ok, no problem, my toddler can hang in there for another 20 min. The 20 mins were up so I reached out to customer service to see if there was an issue. Apparently they had gotten the order late but they couldn't give me a time of when it was going to be delivered. I really wanted to wait but my kid was really hungry so I told them to cancel the order and I'd try them again next time. No harm no foul, things happen. I went out to buy a quick lunch, started eating with the family and, about 30 min later, someone was knocking on the window with the food. When I spoke with the delivery person, I told him that he should take the food back because I had cancelled the order and had already bought another lunch. He was confused so he called the restaurant. I couldn't make out everything that was being said but I made it clear that if they insisted I take the food, I wasn't going to pay. They told me to keep the food and said I didn't have to pay. I asked if he was sure I feel bad because I know how slim margins are for restaurant and made a note to order from them again a couple of times. I sat down, open the food and we took nibbles of the order. Food was great and now I feel worse. My wife and I agreed that this'll be the restaurant we order greek food from moving forward. I wish more restaurants were like this. Will definitely dine in and order from again.
My wife and I wanted to try this place out for months. And one date night we finally did, it truly was one of the most peaceful experiences I ever had. The service felt as if we was in family's home. The constant checking in, the taste of the food, the Greek folk music in the background. They have got a regular from now on.
I had the pleasure of trying the gyro and the avgolemono soup at this establishment once, and I must say it was a delightful experience. The flavors were delicious, and it left me thoroughly satisfied. What added to the enjoyment was the fantastic vibe and atmosphere of the neighborhood. It created the perfect setting for a memorable dining experience.
This is our favorite Greek restaurant. We enjoy coming here for a casual meal. It is bright and friendly. The food is delicious and the portions are very generous. We can relax and feel at home while enjoying a delicious meal. Everything we've had has been outstanding.
The place was beautiful and exquisite. The servers were attentive when they need to be. You can go by yourself or with your significant other and enjoy yourself. I would recommend also going with family but not that big of the family, Only for consideration of other people that are going there as well. However small word of caution, which is do be careful when placing a small order to start with because, it may avalanche and you may be leaving with your pocket book or wallet very very light. Because the food is that good and well prepared.
The chicken here is really outstanding, the white meat is grilled and charry and tender. Everything I've tried so far is very good, home cooking sort. The atmosphere is warm and friendly.
This place always intrigued me. Then a friend highly recommended this restaurant. The owner was extremely polite and helpful. The staff gave great service. The food was simply awesome. Of course I picked up the food cause of the CDC guidelines of dining in. Nevertheless my date was still impressed. When it is safe . I will return with a dinner party for friends and family!
I love this place!! Everything is 5 stars, the atmosphere, decor, food quality and customer service. I wish I could eat here every day, amazing experience. I've been 3 times and am treated like family since the first visit. Great spot, I cannot praise them enough. Keep up the great work!
If I could give this review more than 5 stars I would. The food is unbelievable, staff is attentive, warm, welcoming and friendly, a true gem of the neighborhood. I started going here when they first opened and I used to frequent this restaurant when I lived in the neighborhood. Can’t beat it!
The food at Greek Family Kitchen is excellent. It's nice that the restaurant is not in a busy area, so there's always ample street parking. The portions are generous. I had the moussaka and it was delicious. Service was speedy and delightful. This is an excellent place to put in your regular dining routine, especially if you live in the area. Top of your meal with a traditional Greek dessert. You will not be disappointed.
Best greek food in the United States. Hands down best restaurant in New York. Excellent service and atmosphere, with a very aesthetic interior. I come from England and i’ve never had food like this before. I will definitely be coming here the next time I visit the states.
Cute authentic Greek restaurant with great food. The spicy feta dip is a must have!
Best tasting Greek food! Hard to find an authentic Greek spot, but this is definitely it! Great service and clean facility! I bring our staff there for parties of 7 or 8 people and they accommodated us!
The food was beyond excellent , the place is clean and the bathrooms even cleaner you can tell a lot about a place if their bathrooms are super clean then chances are is a great spot to eat. I would not skip on their coffee frappe !!!!!
Had a good time and a good meal! The servers are number one ! Couldn’t ask for a better group of people ! Food was really great and plentiful!
Delicious homemade food! Big portions, nice prices, and wonderful service...like you're family.
Came here for the first time yesterday, I always drive by this place and never went inside until yesterday. I tried the falafel sandwich and my mom had the pork, it was absolutely delicious. My Mom loved the pork, and I loved the falafel... actually it was the best falafel I have ever had. The food was so good that we came back today for lunch and ordered the same thing, but this time decided to get a side of their lemon potatoes...which were also delicious and I personally think they were the best I have ever had. The staff was nice and the owner even gave my mom a slice of cake for her birthday for free. I highly recommend everyone to stop by and eat there.
I drove past this place a couple times and wanted to see what it was about. It exceeded all expectations! The servers were so kind, friendly and funny. Atmosphere was really nice. The tables were all clean and I liked the decor. You can see and hear the kitchen and I actually thought that was really cool. We ordered the hummus, it was great and so fresh! I ordered the gyro lamb and beef with potatoes and green beans. It was delicious! My boyfriend got the Moussaka and it was so good as well! We both had the lemon chicken soup and I need to have this soup everyday. It was so good! For dessert, we had some cake slices and a cappuccino. Everything was so amazing. I will definitely be going back.
Greek Family Kitchen Oakland Gardens is my go-to spot for chicken souvlaki. The chicken is always juicy, cooked perfectly, and the lemon mustard sauce takes it to another level. Service is friendly and fast—feels like a true neighborhood gem. If you’re craving Greek food in Oakland Gardens, this place delivers every time.
We came to visit New York with my wife and I wanted her to try some of those traditional flavors from here that I missed so much from here, and well… we loved it!!, a warm welcoming, smiles and a super Greek joy that made the experience superb! Thank you! Lula’s cheesecake… a must try (save some room while you eat)
Food was ABSOLUTELY DeLish!!! Deserts yummy too!! Service was great! Portions were good.. My only advice is to make sure you let the waitress know (point to) your order. Our waitress gave us 'PLATTER" sized when we ordered the 'slice' or 'stick' so our bill was close to $200 rather than $140-ish...(w/o tip) It was all good though... Everything was ENJOYED!. We got to take home our left overs. Looking forward to Lunch! I would definitely go back!
Ordered in the other night for the first time and this may be my new go to takeout Greek spot. Went with the basics, gyro pita & gyro combo platter. I liked that the platter came with veggies. Everything was well seasoned & tasty. No complaints.
I stopped by for a snack of Greek-Cajun fries . Very interesting crossover of flavors . Spuds were fresh , cooked to a nice shade of gold and I truly enjoyed the seasonings with a touch of feta cheese mixed in . As I was pressed for time I didn't order an entree . If I'm in the area again , I'll definitely try them again for an entree . 👍👍👍👍
Good menu but a bit pricey. Service is good. The food is fresh & cooked well. There now is a nice backyard eating area which was very pleasant. They also have sidewalk tables
Had a chicken gyro wasn't bad nice size came with fries. Friendly staff Prices were ok. Parking around the area.
Came here for late lunch on Saturday. Plenty of open tables. Servers were nice, kept topping off our water. Food might have been a bit slow to come out but wasn't paying attention too hard. I had the piece of pastitchio which was a good sized portion. It tasted good except desperately needed salt. The piece doesn't come with anything but the regular order comes with sides like lemon potato and salad.
Delicious food, fresh taste. But customer service definitely needs improvement. I've walked in their several times, to see a person on the phone or looking down doing something else for several minutes without a simple greeting or a even a kind gesture of asking for a moment. They make you feel like you're bothering them when minutes go by and I myself had to be the one to stare "hi I'm here to pick up my order" several mins after waiting in front of the counter. I think a kind and friendly hostess when you walk in would go a long . The way they treated me left a bad taste In my mouth and sadly I'm saying this after more than one encounter.
Was actually looking for another Greek Restaurant heading West to Francis Lewis and saw this one. Decide to drop in and try it out. Ordered the Gluten Free (fancy) Falafel Platter with potatoes, broccoli and lentil soup for take out. Wifey was having a vegetarian day craving. The falafel's are super crunchy. It was a bit pricey, but hearty.
When I’m craving a healthy and very filling meal, GFK comes to mind. I always get their chicken souvlaki platter which comes with a soup or salad, choice of potatoes, pita, some steamed veggies (it’s different every time I go) and the souvlaki. For choice of potatoes I’ve tried their lemon potatoes which were delicious but their fries are just to die for. Super crispy and crunchy - everything you’d want in fries. For sides, I’ve had their Spanakopita and goat cheese croquette. The croquettes were a bit pricey for over $10 and you only get 3 croquettes. They were good, but wouldn’t get it again for the price. The spanakopita on the other hand - you get a giant slice that has a very big spinach to phyllo dough ratio. Service is very home-y feel with very friendly waitresses. However, every time they make some sort of mistake - giving us salad when we ordered soup, charging my card with a different table’s receipt, etc. If you have room for dessert, def get their cheesecake. It’s not like your typical American cheesecake that’s dense - their cheesecake is light and airy, made with Greek yogurt, and has a raspberry sauce poured over it.
Despite the lady on the phone seeming a little rude and impatient, I proceeded to order for pick up for my family. I got the gyro platter.. was not expecting the broccoli, but I was excited when I saw it. Lemon potato's were great, my gyro was yummy (not oily and not too hard, a couple burnt pieces but that's ok), calamari wasn't too crispy which was wonderful, octopus was juicy, spanakopita was HUGE and lovely and the little avgolemono soup was fantastic!!! I was definitely satisfied with portions and can see why they have other reviews that are positive. When I went there to get the food, the outside looked beautiful! I also wanted to see the woman on the phone and she was actually really nice in person. I really enjoyed this place! Definitely recommend!
The food was good, but i didn't care much for the service. I watched them offer every other patron a booth, as if it was ideal, after they tried to seat me in the corner. She also kept calling my guest and me "kids" which I took a bit of offense to, but probably explains why they tended to their other patrons with more care and attention. Overall, I just felt like treatment of their guests was not equal, which isn't right because were all paying customers.
Food is pricey, but good. I’ve eaten here twice since I moved to the neighborhood 5years ago. Two salad's (one with anchovies, one with chicken) was $34.00. That’s expensive. Those same salads would have been $10 less expensive at Blue Bay. You’re better off going there.
I was very disappointed. I have passed this restaurant and wanted to try it for months. One day last week we decided to go with another couple. I love Greek food and appreciated the menu, but the food was disappointing for 3 of the 4 of us.
The lentil soup is always filling and delicious.... ( i am now adding something new to my review months later) I tend to frequent this place a lot, mostly with family because as stated earlier we like the food. However, now that I’ve been here more times than I would like to admit I want to remove two stars. The service here really has disappointed me. There’s a certain female server with short brown hair that always seems to be in a bad mood. Shes not very friendly and everything seems annoy her. It’s happened so many times that at this point it’s become an on going joke among my family. Other complaint is how strict they are to restaurant “rules”. I’ll explain... So one night maybe an hour before closing my two friends and I walk in and its empty. We request to sit at their booth (booths are very comfortable as compared to their wooden chairs) and the rude server mentioned earlier said no “it’s reserved for 5 ppl”.... so we sat down at small table against the wall. While we were eating enjoying our meals the restaurant was just about to close and were thinking no one sat there. What is the big deal in sitting your regular customers where they wanna sit and the resturant is empty. Easily another party of 5 could have sat at their other booth. I thought that was kind of silly. In conclusion food is good but service isnt amazing.
Greek family restaurant is a very loud place. It has very high ceilings and separated into a bar area and the dining area. We had a very large crowd and tables and chairs we're back-to-back. This led to a fire hazard situation which thankfully did not occur! I asked the chef for his recommendation he suggested the lamb gyro. The table was set with pita bread and three dipping I heard cursing and hummus, Tzatzikis sauce, and baba ghanoush. The waitress had to squeeze by every person in order to serve the meals. It was very crowded. The dining area was separated by a wall that had two men on letter painting the ceiling on the other side. The ventilation was good, so I did not smell any paint. Everyone started receiving their dishes, which looked good. My lamb arrived and lamb was dry and overcooked it was served in pieces with loose pita bread add more sauce. The alternatives were to have chicken three kinds. Suddenly I heard screaming and cursing from the other side of the wall at the bar between I believe the owner and the waitress! This was not conducive to a good meal! I was told I should return the dish by one of my compatriots for something else because this was overcooked. The dish was overcooked and very dry and not well made! Open restaurants with high ceilings would normally have a very loud dining area and I usually avoid these types of places. I cannot recommend this restaurant. They do have one handicapped bathroom. Which would not be sufficient for the number of capacity patrons that they had that day.
The moussaka... it's all about the moussaka for me. Probably the worst one I've ever had. It had a weird, too-much-cinamon flavor to it. Anyhow, the lamb patties that I had were extremely salty. The potatoes and veggies were ok. The lentil soup was good... I was really looking forward to this being a good Greek restaurant since it's the closest to where I've just moved. Disappointed.
Didn't know what to expect, menu had a diner vibe yet offering a family style dining experience. We felt really conflicted. Ended up ordering the fried cheese to start, saganaki and the grilled octopus. Needed something acidic to finish the dish. We ordered the vegetable platter for two which was huge, definitely grilled beautifully, the veggies. Paired with rice but didn't care for it. The falafel was too dry. We had an option of soup or salad, we each ordered one. The side salad was a good portion but I wish the dressing was more flavorful. The lentil soup was okay. I think if I were to return, I'd stick to the diner type fare. Service was very attentive and the ladies were pleasant. Not sure why I needed a reservation but noticeably there were two dining rooms. I was put into the casual side even with a reservation. Odd.
I ordered moussaka to be delivered. It was the worst I have ever had. The taste was bland and the texture was not good. Never again.
The menu they have at their counter and give out to customers is “years old” — so you will pay much more than expected. They also put a large surcharge on a card payment. The food is good, but I’m not gonna support a business with hidden inflated prices.
Very nice people. Great service. Food was excellent chicken grilled to perfection. Enjoying my meal until I found HAIR in my souvlaki. I was upset but they're so nice. I didn't loose it. Please just use hair Nets...
I’ve been ordering food from this place for 3 years now… I think the few last times i ordered ( including today ) The quality have gotten worse and worse… Today My husband got pastitsio, which was super Salty and not fresh And I got souvlaki gyro and the tzatziki sauce was extremely sour, Last time the bifteki had no taste and it was dry! What we pay doesn’t match the quality of food so Hopefully the quality changes one day and gets better! 120$ to the garbage today
Serve lettuce that has been recalled asked to speak to a manager wouldn’t get me one asked for something to be added in a wrap and instead it was put on the side and I was told that’s how they do it you can just pour it on. Very rude staff. Response to them serving recalled lettuce was well we have been serving it all day and everyone was fine. So pretty much you don’t care about your customers and don’t take the proper protocol you’d rather wait till someone gets sick then do something about it. Will never get from this place again!
The prices are different on Google. I knew that restaurants overcharge by a little so i figured to call and pick it up in person. I ordered for 2 and it was extremely expensive, in store the prices were $5 more. So it ended up being almost $65. The food was okay, definitely not worth that price though. Falafels were dry and hard... extremely disappointing and super overpriced. We didn't even get anything fancy either 😑
My Greek husband and I went here for dinner. The food was terrible. The tomato sauce had too much oregano and my husband’s chicken dish tasted and smelled bad; he did not eat it. The older woman server was really rude. We will not be going back.
They have a blonde female with hideous lip fillers who takes orders and collects payments. She is disgustingly rude! I have dealt with her twice, and I swore to myself there would never be a 3rd time. Aside from that, the food is subpar and I found a receipt in my avgo lemono. Never again.
Absolutely DESPICABLE customer service. The waitress was the absolute rudest I have EVER encountered. I dine out very often. This is the WORST customer experience I ever experienced in a restaurant. We asked if we can order a Greek family platter for 4. The waitress acted like she didn’t understand what I was saying. Then, she says we have to order more food. First of all, you cannot demand customers that they have to order more. We had 3 kids 6 and under with us who don’t eat that much. Second, she said “Look at me” while she was explaining that we had to order more. Telling a customer “look at me” while I was clearly already listening and paying attention while looking at the menu is RUDE and disrespectful and aggressive. Also, when she gave me a bowl that I asked for, she literally just stands there holding the bowl out while I was busy feeding my son. No words, nothing. Just standing there with the bowl reached out. My back was turned so I didn’t even see her. That is VERY rude mannerisms and disrespectful. She also came back at the end and said if we needed to pack food away to take home while we were still eating. Another waiter gave me a very judgmental expression when she asked if I wanted to pack my kids’ meal home and I said no. She said your kids will have nothing to eat tomorrow. Wow. Never coming back here. The workers need to learn how to speak to their customers. It is NOT okay. Completely soured our dinner. Wish I had picked somewhere else.
The salad had old cucumber the Fetta cheese was rancid and I put it all over my gyro, so that was put in the trash. The meat was flavorless. The chicken and pork souvlaki was also flavorless and, dry and chewy. Ordered lemon potatoes and it came with 5 small potatoes, smaller than a golf ball.
Really surprised by the 5 star reviews. Worst baklava I’ve ever tasted. Went straight into the garbage after one bite. Asked my daughter to taste it and she agreed that it was horrible and definitely not homemade. Also worst gyro. Stick with Halal Munchie—best gyro in Queens. Avgolemono had no lemon taste at all. But seriously, the gyro was disgusting. To make matters worse, they’re the most expensive restaurant for Greek food and after waiting a full hour the food turns out to be disgusting. Maybe it’s better food in the restaurant but I’ll never find out. That was a wasted $44. Yep-$44 for a gyro, cup of soup, tsatkiki, and disgusting slice of baklava.
I ordered take out and it was definitely top 3 worst meals I've ever had in my life. Which sucks because the reviews are good and I had a previous take out order that was amazing. What happened did they change the chef? The food was super expensive but tasteless. And whatever that sliced veggie pasta was...YUCK and that was the only thing in abundance. The pork wasn't even marinated and it was grilled to a dry chewing char. This was super disappointing Definitely want my money back there really is no way to justify food being this bad at that price point. Next time I'll just get the 80$ dollar pack of ribeye steaks from Costco and cook myself a feast.
Boggles me how this place is rated this high. Worst Greek food experience I've ever encountered. DO NOT ORDER THE OCTOPUS APPETIZER. Firstly, it is a miniscule portion. Secondly, it was not cooked thoroughly. Some pieces were ok while others were rubbery, undercooked. Ridiculous they charge $28 for that. The main courses were bland, some burnt and lukewarm. Nothing was considered good. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone. Local Greek food truck is 10x better.
I was not fortunate enough to come at the right time, we got all left over food, burned and very badly cooked. I will NEVER go back there. It was three of us and we did NOT like the food. Their soup was good and one of the desserts. We spend $204.-- even after the waitress, who saw how badly and unappetizing the food she served looked, did not charge for the dessert or the teas. It was an outrageous amount of money for the lousy food we were served. It is a shame, because I had recommended this place and was totally embarressed bringing my friends to the GREEK FAMILY KITCHEN. Believe me greek food is delicious, but not what we were served. The waitress agreed with us and saw how we could not eat what was put on our plate.
This place used to be great, but not anymore. I understand price increases—everything is going up—but what I don’t understand is paying more and getting less. They’re clearly skimping on ingredients, so if you order a chicken, pork, or gyro souvlaki, do yourself a favor and count the pieces of meat. I don’t mind paying extra for quality, but when my souvlaki sandwich arrives with only 3-4 measly pieces of meat, it feels less like dinner and more like a scam. Did they run out of chicken and just throw in whatever scraps were left? Or is this the new standard? This used to be a cozy, reliable neighborhood spot, but now it just feels like they’re taking advantage of their regulars. Really disappointing.
i ordered a Chicken gyro and chicken souvlaki combo platter, cost around $28 and yea not good. First off all i been going here regularly and had great experiences every time but today was an bad experience. So portion size two small pieces of chicken and small portion size for chicken gyro not worth $28. I am really disappointed (they probably don't care).
I ordered a pork soulvaki and and order of fries. The fries looked and tasted like they were 3 days old. The Soulvaki sandwich already looked very light and when I opened it, had three pieces of meat. When i called to tell them of my concerns, bring it back because they said they have to see for themselves. I l've been here a few times and it's never been this bad. Never again!!! Unprofessional and a ripoff. Girl at register is a total waste of space. Don't go there. Waste of time and money
Ordered food from here and it was horrible. Small portion. Chicken Gyro sandwich three pieces very small. Fries soggy. Lamb, Gyro platter, burnt pieces, no taste . Sauce had no taste.
