Opinions de Spaggi's Upland
The atmosphere, service, from the waitstaff to the bus persons, is wonderful but the most outstanding is the food. Everything I have tasted is amazing and the presentation is beautiful. I cannot give this restaurant enough stars! I highly recommend Spaggi's !
Spaggi’s catered my wedding and they were truly amazing. Amazing food, service, and attention to detail. Highly recommend choosing them for your next event.
Oh boy! If you are looking for an extraordinary experience, I highly recommend Spaggi’s! I’m pescatarian and can always find something to enjoy. It’s an expensive restaurant so I tend to go at lunchtime when it’s more affordable for me. Salads are terrific and filling, another affordable choice. And Henry the chef will graciously visit you at the table. Don’t let the location prevent you from trying this place!
Small outside patio with plastic wall dividers between tables, very well done for covid precautions. Heaters on the patio for all my cold ladies out there. Food was very good. Classic Italian, not what most "Italian" restaurants are like. Attentive staff. Menu pricing is wide; one entree might be $25 and another $60.
Service is exemplary. The ambiance and food will have you coming back for more. Chef Henry and his wife, Anna, have created a restaurant that tops all Italian restaurants. The food is so delicious it is hard to choose an entree from the menu. The servers are well mannered, professional and extremely courteous.
Another wonderful evening at Spaggis. Henry and his team provide exceptional and unobtrusive service. The food is excellent...last night's champagne cream wild mushroom soup was a taste of heaven. Reservations recommended most nights, but worth the planning involved.
I had the fillet mignon and lobster, and it was amazing. The meat was so tender and the staff was very attentive. Chef Henry always comes to greet his customers. Every time I come here I am never disappointed.
Delish!!!...sooo good. Everything fresh tasting and tasty. Ordered the beef wellington and sea bass dishes. Their coffee was strong the way I like it and smooth. Order dessert to go. 1st time there and for sure a keeper in my list of favorite restaurant ....give this place 10 smiles:)
I went to my cousin's party and Spaggi's was catering. The staff was really polite and were great servers. The food was also really delicious! Henry also helped us with picking out food for my son, who has some food allergies, which was appreciated.
I was going to start off by saying forget Olive Garden.. but to even compare this hidden treasure to that chain garbage would be a disgrace. You would never expect the deliciously tantalizing selection that awaits you in this unassuming strip mall restaurant. Although it is a little on the small side, the atmosphere was wonderful and the service was fantastic. Not to mention the food! The food was nothing short of remarkable. This chef's culinary skill and attention to detail make this place a must try.
Always one of our favorite restaurants. The wedge salad is so good for a starter, and the barramundi is my favorite meal. My husband always gets the lasagna and he never regrets it.
Excellent food and service. Everything is delicious. You should try the specials they are very good.
Amazing food, great service, and welcoming atmosphere. I will become a regular!!
Spaggi's is a favorite go-to restaurant for special occasions. The service, quality and taste of the food are consistently good. We dined at Spaggi's again recently for a special occasion and were impressed as always. Our server was excellent, the food was creative and tasted great. We were very pleased and highly recommend Spaggi's.
We celebrated our first wedding anniversary at Spaggis and had an incredible evening from start to finish. Daniel was our server and he was absolutely fantastic—personable, easy to talk to, and made the night feel special with his warm and engaging service. The food was beyond impressive. We started with the wagyu beef ravioli with truffle, which was to die for—and I don’t even like truffle! Hands down the best starter I’ve ever had. For our mains, we had the osso bucco and the feature bucatini—both were absolutely delicious and full of rich, balanced flavours. Just when we thought it couldn’t get better, dessert arrived. We shared the molten chocolate lava cake (perfection), and to top it off, we were treated to a complimentary slice of carrot cake for our anniversary. It was the perfect combination—moist, spiced just right, and such a thoughtful gesture. Highly recommend Spaggis for any special occasion—or just because. We’ll definitely be back!
Held a business dinner here and was pleased with the choice of location. The service was attentive, but was also aware enough to stay in the background as they noticed ongoing discussions. The food and wine were wonderful across the board. The atmosphere was calm and conducive to a meaningful dinner discussion. I look forward to going back for a "non-business" meal soon.
Went last night for a family dinner and can’t wait to return! Service was amazing, food was fantastic and loved the ambiance! We sat outside and they already had the heaters going so it was nice and toasty. Cameron was our server who was amazing, but everyone was checking on us and you saw it really was a group effort to make sure everything came out perfect! The chef even checked in on our table before we left to thank us for coming in before he went out to his car. Our bill was only 240 for 4 people and we got 3 salads, 5 entrees(1 to share with everyone) 3 margaritas and a dessert! It was so good!
My husband brought me here to celebrate our 16th anniversary. First of all, when you enter the restaurant is is beautifully decorated with the wonderful paintings. The lighting is dimmed which I liked. It was very romantic. Our server was just awesome with her suggestions and being thorough with explaining the appetizer options. She was also very helpful with explaining the menu details to us. My husband tried the spaghetti and I the shrimp limone. The sauce for the spaghetti was tasty and had good flavor. I kept on tasting a hint of orange but I might be wrong. However, it was good . I really didn’t like my shrimp scampi limone because the sauce didn’t really taste like lemon. The shrimp tasted good. The server was so sweet to make me a special non-alcoholic drink and I loved it. Overall, my hubby and I will be going back to taste more of the menu items. We love Italian food. My mamas side of the family are from Sardinia so we know good tasting homemade Italian food .The server even brought my hubby and I a little anniversary treat. That was so thoughtful. Will be coming again with the family and friends. Thank you for a really nice experience
Hidden gem in a strip mall in Upland. Attentive, friendly staff, nice atmosphere, amazing food! The menu isn't lengthy, so you don't get bogged down in too many choices, but it has plenty of great options for everyone, from pasta to seafood to steak to chicken dishes. Their soups and appetizers are incredible, and everyone in my party raved about their entrees. I found prices to be reasonable, esp considering the quality of the food. I will definitely go back when I'm wanting a nice dinner!
Excellent food & service. Yes, a bit pricey but so worth it! We started with a salad & bread. For dinner fish & steak. Cooked to perfection. Then creme brulee for dessert. The best! My husband & I celebrated our anniversary tonight - 3 years in a row. Used to go to Fleming's & Ruth Chris - no comparison!
We both drove 1 hour to eat at this restaurant. Absolutely worth it! If you live in our around Upland this restaurant is a must! Classy! 5 stars! We had dinner in the outdoor patio area which features spotless clean tables perfectly set, heaters and a built in covering. The staff was so sweet. Very accommodating. The chef even came out to make sure our meal was satisfying. My favorite - the food is delicious! The way they care for your as a customer. You will leave overjoyed and blessed with the whole experience! P.S. patio is dog friendly. 🐶
I had no idea this place existed living in a nearby city. I have always had to drive out to Orange Country or Los Angeles to find a restaurant like this. Now I can be able to drive only 15 min! If you are looking for a fine dining experience, don’t hesitate to try this place out! We had a late Mother’s Day dinner here and we had a wonderful experience. Their menu is online, and they have such a wide variety of food, you can pretty much have something new each time you visit, When seated our waitress was able to tell us the specials that they had, I think the only problem was just choosing what to eat. Food We ordered the following: Beef Short Rib - This dish was delicious, with the sauce complementing both the meat and the mashed potato’s. I love how the vegetables still had texture to it, well seasoned and not mushy. Chilean Sea Bass - This was a very different type of Sea bass then I am used to. Usually I have this with Miso, but this approach with the fish on top of the vinaigrette garnish on the bottom excellent! Fruit i Di Mare- My daughter loved this dish, tomato pasta, packed with seafood ! They also have included this Asiago and Olive bread that was so good! It comes with a dipping sauce. Will have to ask what that is next time. I have to really mention again what great service they had. We were asked if our daughter needed a booster chair, we never ran out of water, just enough service, not overwhelming at all. The inside decor was classy, and the bathroom was so clean. I’m aiming to try the ribeye next time and possibly one of their deserts. Great find, looking forward to visit again soon! Until then!
For our 36th anniversary we decided to try Spaggi's for the first time. When you walk through the doors you immediately are taken in by how beautiful it is. We were greeted by the most pleasant and friendly gentleman, Leo, who immediately made us feel like we had been coming to the restaurant for years. After giving us a tour of the restaurant we were seated. The menu offers many options, and the food, par none, was superb!! The portions are generous and the presentation picture worthy. The decor and ambiance was lovely - quaint, dimly lit, with linen tablecoths....and quite romantic if you're looking for that.. Our waiter Cameron(sp?) was helpful and well-informed when describing the specials, and couldn't have been more attentive without being intrusive. We will definitely be returning to Spaggi's and invite you to try this little gem of a restaurant nestled in Upland.
This restaurant was GREAT!! The location, you would not expect such a wonderful restaurant wherelocated. The food, the service, and the ambiance were wonderful. Our server, Chris, was great! Excellent selection of food and wine. We will be coming back!!!!
Yummy for my tummy award granted.
It's not technically a "secret menu item," but you need to let them know ahead of time (by at least a few days) if you want to order the Beef Wellington. You might assume that this means it is of a quality that is uniquely exquisite, and I can assure you that this assumption is 100% correct. This dish is literally made in part by a pastry-chef, and the moment you take a bite of the absurdly-delicate shell of I-don't-even-know-what, you'll understand why you have to arrange for this sort of treatment: it's like an opera in your mouth. Underneath that mantle of what I assume is an elevated form of dough reserved for the better seats in heaven, there is a mushroom duxelle that I'm quite certain would qualify for the dictionary entry if you were to look up the word "unctious." Then, the filet. Is there an adequate word in the English language for a perfect medium-rare steak? The best part is that you actually have to be reminded that you're eating an exquisite piece of beef underneath all of these charms, and it's only responsible to forewarn you that dipping it in the au jus with which it's served might just awaken you to a level of luxury you will struggle to equal in other establishments. I won't even mention how good the wagyu-truffle ravioli was, or how their wedge-salad is served with fully a 3 oz triangle of delicately veined roquefort (bleu cheese) and bacon-bits made of *actual, perfectly cured smoky bits of bacon*. Point being: if you eat meat, this is something you should put on your bucket list. You're not going to find a better meal anytime soon, after all. 10/10, would recommend.
11 out of 10. Great service and the lasagna was an 11 out of 10.
What a surprising Oasis, in an otherwise not quite industrial, but definitely not where such a high quality high service restaurant might be located. The food here is exceptional, and it matches the excellent service that one receives. This restaurant could easily be in Beverly Hills, but is right here in Upland. ENJOY!!!
Yet another beautiful Thursday dinner w her. Beautiful lighting & decor on the inside. Waiter respectful as always.

The Lobster ravioli was superb! The service is outstanding, very attentive. I was there for my birthday and was given a sweet treat at the end of my meal!
Spaggi’s is hands down one of the best Italian dining experiences I’ve had. Every dish is thoughtfully crafted with rich, authentic flavors and beautifully presented. The service is warm, attentive, and professional, making you feel truly welcomed. From the fresh pasta to the perfectly cooked seafood, everything was exceptional. A must-visit for anyone who appreciates top-tier Italian cuisine!
The food was exquisite and the atmosphere was just perfect. The staff were excellent and we even got a surprise visit from the famous chef Henry. What a wonderful night it has been.
Fantastic restaurant with a mouthwatering menu. The owner is incredibly hospitable and overall a great person. Would definitely come back to try more of their offerings.
Finally getting a chance for a child free dinner. We were so impressed by every part of our experience. Our server was very professional and clearly loves what he does. The owners both came to say hello and ensure that we were enjoying our selections. Not only was my steak absolutely perfect, The flavor was unbelievable too. Needless to say we left with nothing on the plate. The coffee was outstanding too! I never order coffee at restaurants because it's usually disgusting… But the coffee here alone is something that I would come back for. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Definitely a MUST! Came in from out of town. Googled and read reviews on 5 Italian restaurants before selecting Spaggi's. Pleasantly surprised and satisfied. Start with exception service. Jessica knew her menu and lengthy descriptive specials. Friendly but not overbearing. Started with a salad with kale, red & yellow beets, pumpkin seeds, shaved brussels with lemon poppy seed dressing. Dinner: Osso Bucco. Wow! Tender, fall-off- the bone veal shank with risotto (instead of fettuccine). Everything I expected. My only disappointment was the wine list. First, overpriced by $10 (I prefer a bottle), then they didn't have what I ordered. Find others!! Next time, I'll bring my own and pay the corkage fee of $20.
Food and service are good. Cozy restaurant. Definitely recommend to go although they only open Thur thru Sun. We liked the warm bread with home made sauce. We had Calamari, Scampi Al Limone, Signature beef shot ribs and the today's special pasta.
Small charming little Italian restaurant. Service was attentive and food was excellent. Get the upside down pineapple cake for dessert
Food is usually good. Presentation is consistent. Service is always on point even when full house. Family loves this place for birthday occasions & celebration.

Took parents to 60th anniversary dinner, 20 min to be seated, and 1hr to be served our meal after notifying server we were still waiting.. terrible experience.. owner at least tried to make up for it with a 20 dollar gift card.
One of my guest chicken breast was beyond dry as well as the pasta plate , the calamari, for the price, was ok at best. The water served tasted like it came frome the sink. The service was great and my plate came out amazing. I wouldn't go back though
Not sure why the 4 or 5 stars. Maybe we ordered the wrong items. We spent $170 got 3 pasta dishes and one main entree. All 3 pasta dishes the pasta was way over cooked- real mushy. My stuffed rigatoni was swimming in sauce and there were only 8 of them. I was very disappointed. My wife liked her sauce but her pasta was like paste. Way over priced for the quality of food they serve. Sad. Maybe we went on an off night.
Service was good, but the lettuce in the salad was not very crispy. It tasted old. The special 3 trio pasta was good. I ordered a meat, pasta and vegetable dish and the meat was dry and over cooked, the pasta was under cooked and the veggies were just alright. We won't go back.....
I hadn't been to Spaggi's in a few years and I'm sorry to say the food was a big disappointment. My husband was craving Italian food and based on my past experience I highly recommended Spaggi's. It was not what I expected. I was craving Chilean Sea Bass, but it was tough and dry. Chilean Sea Bass is a delicate fish that should be moist and almost melt in your mouth. The Lasagna, Chicken Marsala and all the other dishes ordered by my family lacked taste and quality. I do have to say the desserts were good, and our server, Daniel, was very professional and courteous. I don't mind paying for good food, but the food has to merit the price and unfortunately the Sea Bass was over priced for the quality. I'm sorry to say I won't be going back or refer this place to anyone.

I have heard how great the food is here for years. We finally decided to try it via Grubhub and it was absolutely AWFUL. My short rib was a piece of rubber that when chewed caused extreme dry mouth, and my husband’s pasta tasted like it had sat outside for days. He ate it because he was starving after not eating all day, but actually threw away the shrimp we paid extra for (see photo of shrimp in the trash can). I worked in a fine dining restaurant for many years, and if you want great food, go to Tutti Mangia. I’m incredibly upset that I paid for this HORRENDOUS “food.”
This restaurant is, by far, the worst Italian restaurant I've experienced in LA. During my two-month stay in Upland with my family, we visited a few Italian restaurants around Claremont. All three Italian restaurants we tried were fairly good. However, Spaggi's was seriously disappointing for several reasons: I made a reservation through OpenTable and arrived on time, but our table wasn't ready. They seated a walk-in guest before us. We waited approximately 10-15 minutes, leaving me wondering about the point of making a reservation. For starters, they delivered the wrong dishes to our table, which I believe was a salad. I had a bite of the bacon before calling the waitress. They took away the wrong dish and then delivered it to the table next to us. This is unacceptable. If a dish is delivered to the wrong table, it should not be served to another customer without being remade. The soup of the day was excessively salty. I uploaded a picture of the soup; I've never seen a chef chop green onions like this. It makes me question if the chef did this as a deliberate presentation choice. My partner ordered lobster and beef steak. The lobster was edible, albeit overcooked. The beef steak, however, was overly salted - it felt as though the restaurant must have a direct supply from a salt company to avoid bankruptcy. I am astonished to see other reviews stating that this restaurant is worth an hour's drive. In my experience, this restaurant is the WORST Italian establishment I've had in LA.
