Opinions de Hisui Japanese Steak House Vacaville
The bussers here are truly amazing, they helped me with my every need!. Amazing service from all staff as well, especially the server known as "Simon", he was very attentive to us, and made sure to give us excellent service. The hostess named "Ella" was very calm and relaxed when I asked her some questions about the food. Definitely would come again! 5/5 stars!
Thuy was such an amazing server! The sushi was really good, but our server made our lunch even better from her great service +recommendations!
My wife's and my favorite sushi place in town. Well priced and lots of options. Good service every time. Do not confuse this place with Hisui. I think they are owned by the same people, but Hisui 2 is hands down better in every way than Hisui. I will never go to the other one again. Hisui 2 is great!
The quality of ingredients was good and the sushi rice was well-prepared. They offer a large selection of dishes at reasonable prices. It would be great to have a similar sushi bar nearby like my parents do in Vacaville.
Went for all you can eat sushi lunch on Sunday. The place was packed but the servers were very attentive and wait times were minimal for "next rounds". Delicious! Tried the Orange blossom roll, and it was just spicy enough (I can't do really spicy)
Excellent food! All you can eat sushi during lunch time is great! A+
This is in my top 3 for sushi. I always sit at the bar because they make your sushi very fast and they are always checking if you want more. The place has a all you can eat sushi that is really good. Normally you get the small menu and limited selection for an all you can eat but at Hisui 2 has a fairly large selection and there fried banana is amazing.
My husband and I have visited Hisui for many years. The staff is always friendly and the food is great. There is always a great selection of rolls, which include their special ones. We love the food and the staff, who, by the way, remember what we like. ☺️
Amazing sushi and great staff. Every time I ordered from here the staff was nice to me and especially nice to my daughter they even let her feed the fish. Every time a friend came into town I brought them here and they all love it. I'm greatly looking. Forward to coming back here in the future!
Joy and Tom are excellent! We initially expected some of the same poor service and high costs as with the former sushi restaurant. We were very mistaken. Joy delivers TOP customer service and Tom the Sushi Chef is an artist. You can order off the menu or tell Tom what you like and he will create a masterpiece. Enjoy!
Prices were ok and food was excellent. Service was quick and made half a dozen stops at the table during our lunch. Sushi was great, cooked foods were great, we're going back, except for the price this will be a pretty regular stop.
One of my favorite sushi places! The prices are fair (the all-you-can-eat lunch is a bargain!). The service is prompt and accurate, and the food is amazing from start to finish. The sushi rolls are consistently delicious and the nigiri is always fresh. For people who need a place that meets a variety of tastes they also offer an assortment of ramen and bento boxes that are of equal caliber. Highly recommend checking these guys out!
The teriyaki chicken that my husband ordered was pretty tasty, I ordered chicken katsu and its so delicious! Will definitely comeback!
Favorite go-to-spot for Sushi. Always order the saki sashimi and it never disappoints. Super fresh and buttery! Best roll on the menu(for those special people that don't like raw fish)is the angry spider. Has all of my favorite things wrapped in to one roll. So good!
Absolutely amazing!!! Came here for a birthday dinner and we were like 15 deep. The young waitress was so nice and orders were all correct. On to foooodddd!! I'm not big on sushi rolls but omfg soo good! I ordered the chicken katsu soooo good! And the salad 😩👏👏. I wish I took a pic! Definitely would come back for date night! 🥰
The best sushi I have ever had! Really great place, I used to go all the time before I got stationed in vegas. The angry spider roll is awesome! ! green tea tempura ice cream too :)
Lunch Buffet as usual. Quick service and lots of yummy choices! We always end with deep-fried bananas. Drizzled with chocolate sauce and a little whip cream... theyre amazing!! Our server, Paisley, was fantastic!
Best local sushi that won’t break the bank. Service is always good and food is on point.
If you're a fan of Japanese cuisine, this restaurant is an absolute must-visit. We frequent this place often, and it never disappoints. The sushi is always incredibly fresh, and the bento boxes are a delightful combination of flavors and textures. The friendly service makes every visit a pleasure, whether you're dining in or opting for carry-out. The staff is welcoming and attentive, adding to the overall enjoyable experience. The restaurant itself is clean and comfortable, providing a cozy ambiance for a relaxed meal. Plus, there's plenty of parking, making it convenient no matter when you visit. Overall, this restaurant has become a favorite for us, and we highly recommend it to anyone looking for excellent sushi and bento boxes.
Still the standard! We have been visiting here for the last 12 years, never been disappointed. Granted we had the hiccup of a few years ago with all restaurants. Somehow these guys made it through, and the quality has not dropped off. We've been stationed in Japan from many years, and this is close so we can get without driving down into the bay and all the traffic that entails. And I would still put them up against anything down there.
The rolls were a little in the narrow(small) side, but very good.
This was my second time visiting this restaurant after being introduced to it by my son. The lunch hour offers all you can eat sushi at a set price under $20. The welcoming staff and wait staff are extremely friendly and very accommodating. This restaurant isn't an over-the-top, super fancy, culinary showplace when it comes to the delivery of the food.... but it excels with quantity that is quite good. The rolls are simple but familiar with a few upgraded rolls available as well as nigiri selections and hand rolls. My only negative critique is that the chefs at times can be a little heavy handed with the sauces they use in the preparation of the rolls resulting in a cover-up of the main ingredient flavors. In addition to the sushi, you have a menu offering edamame, gyoza, miso soup, grilled chicken skewers, and wakame seaweed salad to supplement your selections. If you walk away still hungry, the fault is entirely yours. They also have a regular menu to order off of, and offer specials at additional cost beyond the all you can eat offerings.
Although they were very busy and short staffed (we were told before being seated), our server was on top of everything. We had a little wait, but it was to be expected. we were never out of water and as soon as we ready to order another option off of the all-you-can-eat menu our server took our order. I wish I could remember her name because she was so great!
Biggest and best sushi in the area. They have all you can eat sushi for a great price. It's a great way to try new things without buying a full roll of each item. All you can eat is about the price of 2 full rolls so it's absolutely worth it even if you dont eat too much. The rolls are always fresh and tasty. Great for dine in and take out. Service is great.
Nice atmosphere, the service staff is always helpful and the food is really good too. It is not quite a 5 star sushi restaurant but considering the reasonable price it definitely gets my vote!
I used to work at a sushi place & this was hands down one of the best sushi experiences I've had this year! Fish was really fresh even on a Sunday & I had several different types. The prices are unbelievable & the service could not have been better. I can't wait to come back- I even bought my Dad a gift card for his birthday:-)
We always get the best customer service the 3 times we’ve been here. We eat a few rolls when it’s a group of us because the portions are pretty good. Not only that but the food is delicious. Waiters are a1 every time. The room can get a bit cold though. Me and my wife were there over the weekend and they had the sore open and the fans on. Didn’t take my sweater off once.
Was really hungry after work and wanting sushi....stopped into Hisui 2 on Easter Sunday and was very pleasantly surprised! All you can eat sushi for $18.95 12-3 pm! My server did well to keep up and I was very happy with the service and selection!!! CHEERS!!!
We have a few good sushi spots that start out great and then after visiting a few times, something starts to fade either in quality of food or service. I have a good feeling about Hisui 2. I can't believe it took us this long to experience it, as they've been around for quite some time and we never checked it out. We have gone to the first Hisui restaurant on the hill, but this smaller, more quaint spot is ideal for great sushi, bar, and very attentive service. The selection of rolls is HUGE, and we tried a good number of different ones which were ALL fresh and buttery. The beer on tap is minimal, but they offer a nice variety of sake and coctails. We finished with the tempura (fried) green tea ice cream, drizzled with chocolate and whipped cream! We shared between 4 people and it was the perfect ending to our meal.
Hisui 2 has been our go-to restaurant for quite a while now! The food is always good, the serving sizes are decent, the the staff is pleasant. But I’m writing this review because I wanted to give a special shout-out to our server, Thuy. We go to Hisui often and she’s almost always our server. She has always been so kind and wonderful, she’s just such a nice and hardworking person. She takes great care of her customers and it means a lot to us! Thank you Thuy for making sure we have a great experience every time we’re there.
Great service, great food, and most importantly, Free Refills. 16 bucks and you get all you can eat Sushi between 1100am and 2pm and it has like 30 something types of sushi. I Personally recommend the Tempura Roll or California Hand Roll
Good quality ingredients, propper sushi rice, our meals were all prepared very well. Large selection of dishes and options. Reasonable prices . Wish we had such a nice little sushi bar down the street like my parents have in Vacaville. They are very lucky.
Buddy, let me tell you! By far one of the best places I have been to in years. Let me start by saying our server Tara (I think that's how you spell it), was the best server I have encountered in decades. Decades my friend! Sushi was absolutely amazing! The skewer thing was a big hit and everyone loved the pot stickers. The fact that Hisui hit 5-stars in the food, service, and atmosphere criteria should tell you it's great. To the management, give Tara a raise! Employees like her are part of the winning combination of why people will return. I loved it all! *Note: sadly, I left my phone in the car for this family meal so I didn't get pictures. It was all beautifully presented though and looked delish!
They have the best sushi in fairfield, or most anywhere in the area. Great environment, friendly staff, and everything was delicious.
This is my favorite place to eat. I love the service and I absolutely love the sushi. I am pretty picky when it comes to how I like my rolls. This place nails it every time and they have great appetizers too. 10 out of 10 recommend Hisui 2
You want fresh protein packed meals. Go to Hisui 2. It's been years for my visit back . Husband and I are very busy people and i finally had time to visit this lovely gem in Vacaville. Introducing this to my husband was a wonderful time. Lovely atmosphere, lovely service (Veronica !!!! And staff) and lovely portions 🤪 for a girly that wants the gainz!! 100/100 5 years later still have my heart ❤️ ps. Thanks for making my pre birthday week special.
What a Vacaville gem! This sports bar and sushi bar has a comfortable atmosphere and VERY friendly staff. The majority of the specialty rolls (such as Raiders, Golden Gate, and Pink Lady) can be custom ordered and they come with a dish of ginger slices and wasabi (if you're feeling brave!) to accent your rolls. All around, I have no complaints and I will be coming back for more (maybe for the lunchtime special).
Ordered the avocado rolls, miso soup, and fried tofu for Hisui 2. The avocado roll was fresh and delicious! A little heavy with the amount of wasabi and ginger included. The fried tofu wasn’t as fried as you’d expect if you’re expecting something super crunchy, but it wasn’t half bad. The service despite pandemic restrictions is still great. The hostess was kind and friendly, and the wait time was very minimal.
Gets busy for lunch, so get there early. Good all you can eat selection which are served as half rolls. I enjoyed trying different rolls since I was not stuffed from a couple of full size rolls. You can always get 2 of the same roll if you want a full one.
What can be said about Hisui 2 can be said about most of your average sushi spots. Nothing about their menu surprises you, the interior decor is what you'd expect, and the prices are reasonable based on the market for fresh fish in NorCal. On occasion I've had my server get ultra busy and forgot about my table, but most of the time the service is great, especially if you sit at the bar. Despite it's pitfalls, Hisui 2 keeps me and my friends coming back for more, it's the only sushi spot we go to in Vacaville. If you're looking for a consistent, reliable, and relaxed sushi place, Hisui 2 had you covered!
The service here cannot be beat. Highly recommend. We went early before the dinner rush and had stupendous service. So friendly. The food is always so fresh. We enjoyed specialty rolls at half price and happy hour price on drinks. #1 Sushi restaurant
Always good food for the price point. Large rolls and service was great as there were no other customers on Chritmas Eve but us! Only downside was it was cold in the restaurant. Turn up the heat!
The sushi has been the best I've ever had. Ok, not the best but pretty close. The waiters are attentive and kind. There is an older woman that needs to smile a little more, a lot more. You know who you are. My favorite is hisui special, and golden gate. Try them, so good. Super glad they're here. Price, affordable, especially when you are a family of 5!
I come here a few times a month. I've had some bad service only a couple times during the all you can eat lunch rush on the weekends. Other than that, I love this place. Great sushi. Great atmosphere. (Try the spicy tako handroll)
Sushi was very good, the service was wonderful, a little dark inside, but okay. Had a great meal with a great friend!! Definitely would go back!!!
When we got there the place was packed, and for good reason. The sushi was really good. Our wait wasn't too long and when we were seated the server warned us that the chefs were running behind. I appreciated the honesty, and it only took about 20 mins for our food to come, so that wasn't too bad. My only complaint is the hostess didn't give us a wait time when we walked in, but she was swamped, so that's understandable. Good food, reasonably priced.
Staff was very nice and helpful. They were slammed when I was in there, so service took awhile but that is expected. Food was delicious. You can sub real crab and they have listed specials that are awesome. I would definitely come here again.
Great little sushi spot for dine in, take out or door dash. We love the Titanic, Giants, Kamikaze, Samurai & Wildfire. Only 1 reason for 4/5 stars, their tempura shrimp inside the rolls past couple of visits have been over cooked/chewy and dry/hard, otherwise this is one of our go to spots!
Usually the employees are really friendly and they have reasonable prices. & The food is always great here. -Today we had a waitress (I believe her name was (Cheryl)(with blonde hair) we've never seen before (we come here a lot) she was friendly and took our order then disappeared, she completely either forgot about us or idk but she was coming to the table next to ours but not ours. She didn't bring us our order, our drinks or anything so we asked someone else (jenny) for help, jenny was very apologetic for her coworker and she was very helpful, she brought us everything we needed and more. Then when we were done eating our first waitress comes up and asks us if there was anything we needed or she forgot, we asked her what happened why she left and didn't bring us anything and she said "oops I'm sorry". We were Just very displeased about our first waitress. I get we all have off days but there was just something completely off about her, and she just kept running off to the bathroom the whole time we were there. Update- the person I spoke about before no longer works there. Food tastes great, some soda is a little flat and the lemonade isn't great, but other than that it's my favorite sushi place in town and the prices aren't bad either.
Food was pretty good, Sushi was tasty and well prepared...
I haven't been to Hisui's 2 in a long time. At the time, i thought it all tasted the same. I really didn't give it another thought. Tonite, we were hungry, and we kind of just wandered in at the last minute. The staff was friendly, helpful, and personable. I always say besides the food, the people are a big part of the restaurant in how i rate it. The way they connect, interact, and bring out what the establishment has to offer. They did not disappoint. The food, the flavors, and the textures were diverse. Delicious. I wonder what happened to Hisui 1?
I have eaten at this location several times and actually this is my 2nd time in less than a week. Last week we sat at the bar, great service, amaaazing food. I ate the DK and the Airbase that time, both were very delicious. Service was good and pretty speedy for as busy as they were. Tonight service was slightly lacking, not horrible but when we arrived the place was not that full. I stuck with my DK but wanted to branch out on my 2nd item and went with an old standby, the Lion King. The DK was just as good as the last time. The Lion King though was not what I'm used to, I don't believe whatever was on the top was salmon but whatever it was they decided to throw on top was so microscopic that I think the masago even overshadowed it. I will return but I definitely won't waste my time with my old standby. I do highly recommend the DK!
I ordered $28 chirashi which had a LOT of variety, even slightly smoked lox. Even served with fresh wasabi. We also ordered charbroiled whole calamari appetizer which was grilled and cooked just right. And shoyu broth ramen had no bamboo, but not salty, good taste broth with the better thicker noodles. We will repeat in the future.
Affordable for sushi! Nice place with nice staff. Service usually takes longer than I think it should. One time we were there for an hour and a half and it was just 2 of us with 4 rolls. But sushi makes it worth the wait! Our bill: $44.33 for 4 rolls and 1 drink. My recommendation: try the pink lady roll!
Meh.. the rolls were really good but offset with really bad customer service. We sat as the bar, considering this is usually the best way to get better faster service at most places. Quite the opposite here. After about 10 minutes of sitting at the bar with no service and multiple moments of eye contact with employees who were potential bartenders, we stopped the most likely candidate to place a drink order. Every time we needed something after our initial order we had to interrupt the bartender from whatever they were doing. Like I said, rolls are great though. Maybe we will do a takeout order next time as that seemed to be the priority. Keep up the good work?
The food use to be great. Now it's just ok. The servers are overwhelmed so the service isn't as good either. Wish it were better because the owner/sushi chef is so nice and he does do a good job.
This used to be my go to sushi spot. It's about a 35 minute drive from home but the sushi is worth it. The food is great but the service COMPLETELY SUCKS. It's like the waiters/servers are always mad or just don't care. They're super rude and talk bad about the customers literally right in front of them as if we don't hear them. The whole time I was there I only encountered ONE genuine worker who was actually helpful. I usually leave a tip at this place but service sucked so bad that they didn't deserve it. Enter at your own risk. Some days the service is alright but most of the time it's horrible. On the search for a new spot now.
I really enjoy an all you can eat sushi restaurant but this place is just okay. The sushi quality is good compared to door dashing for sure. I prefer eating here inside than having it delivered.
It's not quite what I remember it to be with the sushi rolls. They used to have such a great ratio of fish to rice but this time it just seemed like all rice. The rolls also all tasted the same.
This is one of my favorite sushi restaurants. I was painfully saddened when I went in at 8:55pm for my birthday eve dinner, was asked to wait, then told they don’t seat after 9pm. I will go back but well before 9pm even though their hours say they’re open until 930pm.
The sushi used to be good as I would eat here 3 times a week. I usually eat a small amount of food while others around my table are eating 50-60 portions. I will NOT waste my money here as I was a loyal customer who tipped $10.00 on a $20.00 check( order of food). But the last few times the sushi was so thin you could see through it then there comes the 12 plus ounces of rice for just 8 simple pieces of salmon 🍣. Way way too much rice for the money unless you eat 40 plus pieces like most everyone else. I weigh every meal when I eat at home for the last 15-20 years. So I know when I’ve eaten way to many carbs per protein ratio. UNLESS YOU EAT MORE THAN A TOTAL OF 10 PIECES LIKE ME THEY WILL FILL YOU UP ON RICE( the rice actually used to taste good NOT ANY LONGER. SAME WITH THE SUSHI. MASSIVE STOMACH ACHE AND DIARRHEA THE LAST 2 TIMES I ATE HERE.
Food is good but I have been coming here for years, but the quality of service is going downhill here mainly on the server side of things latley. Orders not being right, servers not checking on there tables for refill in drinks, and food takes awhile to get to the table. Ontop of that the last few times I went, the restaurant has smelled like a bathroom for some reason. Maybe a plumbing issue but not the best smell to be taking in when you go somewhere to eat.
Customer service has been slacking. We got asked how our food was and we said we are still waiting and then we got our checks later for the food we ordered but we never got it. The waiter apologized and a few min later we got our food. I do love their sushi and I keep coming back. I wouldn't have even left this review but when I saw that there are a few reviews like my experience as well, I believe there is strength in numbers. This type of service I have never encountered. We waited at least 30min to get our food
Hi! Whoever took my pick up order over the phone tonight for order number 12 was not welcoming or warm, and felt like she was rushing my order. I understand sometimes it can get busy , i'm in service too, but to sound like I was a bother to place an order was just ridiculous. Work on common manners and phone etiquette, esp if you are in service.
its a shame the food is really good the servers and staff are great but every time its a darn nursery. theres always one or multiple people who bring a screaming baby in and do nothing about it. this place has nothing for children and should not be labeled as child friendly the parents never do anything about it too and continue letting their kids be obnoxious disturbances, scream and slam trays on the table or floor i love the food but im not paying 50 dollars to listen to someones dirty baby screaming for an hour. its exhausting how inconsiderate people are.
First time in my entire life that I’ve had food poisoning. Plus their Green tea was dark brown color, when I asked about it they said they make the tea at the beginning of the day and keep it for the rest of the day just sitting.
Worst service I think I've ever experienced. We got there when they opened at noon. We were the second people to be seated. Are server came we ordered and waited about 30 minutes later he came up and asked how everything was, we told him well we're still waiting. He says okay and then finally at about 1 we start getting upset and ask for our server and he literally has nothing to say except "it's not my fault" so we paid for the buffet but all we got was our drinks. Pretty upset about this experience and will never ever go here again.
I have been a regular at Hisui for many years. This place use to be great but has recently declined drastically. I ordered 3 rolls for my family this evening and all 3 were terrible. The fish wasn’t fresh at all and the fried roll we ordered was cold and stale tasting. The Owner/Manager Kim refused to do anything about replacing rolls or issuing refund. I would not recommend this place to anyone.
We went last week. Place has changed. We have gone since it opened.this time smelled fishy and sushi rolls were gross. Like dry tuna and no flavor. Husband threw up later. What happened!? We used to love it, but no more.
Food has really gone down in quality. Last two orders and couldn’t even finish my food it was so bad. I’ve been ordering here since 2015, just can’t do it anymore.
Waited over 10 minutes to order a drink. Never happened so I had to stop a waitress and ask for a drink. Then waited another 20 minutes to even order. Meanwhile my waitress is in the kitchen loudly complaining about something that happened to her kid. Finally order only to have just a part of my order even put in. Then my waitress kept asking if I had received my order. Um, no, why wouldn't she know. She's assigned to my table. She clearly hadn't brought me my food. Yet she couldn't seem to remember not bringing me my food. After more than 30 minted of this ridiculousness she put in another order for my food. I waited 15 more minutes only to be told they weren't serving the all you can eat any more. Which is what I ordered. An hour ago when they were still serving it. I had no more time to eat as I had to leave to pick up my own child. They hastily packed up an order of rolls I didn't order and charged me for the full all you can eat amount. They didn't even get my original order right! There was no manager there so I paid and left. Never going back either.
Prices went up and the quality went down. During the all you can eat buffet, when I ordered sushi they piled sushi rice underneath in copious amounts and expect you to eat it all. Same with the rolls. Everything was drowning in rice. For dinner their roll used to be really good, but the quality and care they used to put into making them as well as the quality of the fish has significantly dropped. There are plenty other, better sushi places within 5 mins from here that are a much better (and cheaper) choice.
I always give this place a try and end up regretting it. Decent sushi and price, nothing amazing. But the service is awful. My wife and I ways end up eating our food at different times because they didn't make our rolls together, or they forgot what we ordered. We usually sit for several minutes before we're met with a server. I'm not a difficult customer, but this place is lame and im Constantly disappointed.
Horrible service. I went here on a Friday evening, seated promptly and even got my drinks quickly. We ordered our rolls and about 45 minutes of no food and noticing other tables who were there far after us start getting food before us I started to get annoyed. After about 5 minutes of trying to flag someone down I finally made contact with my waitress and her response was '' I have no control of the order the chefs make the rolls''. What the hell?? I got a wild idea... How bout make the orders that come in first? She never apologized, and told us she would' 'check'' on it but never came back, so we walked out. This lady had the nerve to chase us out in the parking lot and tell us we need to pay for our $2 iced tea. We offered to pay and told her how horrible this experience was, and that we waited for 45 minutes and being it was our first time there, it would be our last. Ps the half price sushi is a scam.... Their rolls aren't really worth $20, their '' half price'' is the true price for their garbage. Still looking for sushi in this sleepy town go to umi by the theater, service is a little bad but their fast.
Bug found on plate I came here with my two sons, and I was grossed when my 10-year-old found a pincher bug (earwig) crawling on his dish plate containing a raw sushi roll. I brought this to our waitress's attention, given the food safety concern. What made a bad situation worse was the management’s response. Despite the issue, they only refunded the rolls and still charged us $53.52 for the rest of our items. It’s a small price to pay to avoid a bad review and reputation. When a bug is crawling on a customer's food, a full refund and a sincere apology should be the bare minimum. Instead, the staff seemed indifferent. At one point, I wasn’t even sure they were going to come back give they continued serving other customers and made us wait to hear what they would do. It’s sad because this was our favorite spot. We frequented there many times, and how they handled it and seemed indifferent about this made me wonder what else would they be indifferent about.
Really disappointed because this used to be my favorite sushi spot. Something changed with the crab and it completely threw off the experience. The new crab tasted chalky and artificial, which made rolls I used to love hard to enjoy. What made it worse was feeling like management didn’t really care about the feedback. It’s unfortunate because this place used to be a go to for me, but after this change I do not see myself coming back
Sushi is GROSS!! It doesn’t taste fresh at all. Never coming back as I feel like they are robbing people with the terrible quality. Also stay away from the glass noodle soup. Nauseating.
I use to go here a lot. I am so sick to my stomach after I ate here. I definitely ate something bad.
THE WORST restaurant I’ve been to thus far. The rolls were not good at all and the beef noodle soup with the glass noodles was so bad! It tasted like overly sweetened soy sauce and nothing else. The bowl it was served in was so burnt that the ashes were falling on the table. I’m so dissatisfied and on top of that, the cups and plates had stains too.
