Opinions de Pollo Asado Valladolid
There were eight of us. We ordered roast lamb, fried pork belly, black pudding, and salad. For dessert, we had several cakes, and they offered us complimentary pastries and shots. All the food was superb. And the staff (the girl's name was Sandra, if I'm not mistaken, slim, petite, and with blue eyes) provided exceptional service. In short: a wonderful experience in terms of both food and service. I will definitely return.
Definetely one of the best restaurants in Valladolid, the lamb was splendid and I enjoyed it a lot
It had been a long time since I'd eaten such a delicious and tender suckling lamb. The restaurant is very pleasant and has a great atmosphere. They have a small menu, but everything is of excellent quality. The fried pork belly is highly recommended, and the cheesecake was also very good. The service was quick and very attentive. We'll be back to try the suckling pig, which looked incredible.
Excellent
The roast lamb was impressive, though it took a little while, which shows they prepare it with care. The salad, which is charged separately, was excessive and somewhat expensive, as was the wine list. The service was excellent, but the restaurant needs a modernization. Despite these drawbacks, it's a grill restaurant worth visiting in Valladolid.
The salad that comes with the suckling lamb, but is extra, is incredible—it's small, just about three garden tomatoes, lettuce, and onion. It was very good, and the service was friendly, and they even offered a complimentary shot and pasta! Highly recommended is an understatement. Our waitress, Sandra, who served us, gave us great recommendations and explained everything, including the best options and off-menu starters. She was the one who explained that the salad came with the quarter of a suckling lamb, but it was extra. Everything was very well explained, and as I said, a 10 out of 10!
My wife and I went, and at first they sat us at a small table in the corner... I didn't like it, but I have to say we had a great time, and in the end it was a very private corner, we felt comfortable. When I go back, I'll ask for that table. We ate a spectacular quarter of the lamb forehand. A traditional lettuce, tomato, and onion salad, which is what you should have with suckling lamb for dessert, an iced coffee with slippers, all very traditional... a bottle of Emilio Moro, a couple of beers, and a couple of gin and tonics... we left very happy. We know the suckling lamb is sky-high, and the bill was substantial, but I recommend going because the lamb was very tasty and cooked to perfection. I give four stars for the atmosphere only because SEMINCI is always busy.
We enjoyed a meal at Asados Carolina, and the suckling lamb was truly delicious. We had a minor issue with the ordering, as the waitress didn't clearly explain what we needed to order, but when we discussed it with the owner, he was extremely helpful and resolved the situation as best he could. We will definitely return.
Brutal letxazo!!!!
Amazing
Very delicious meat and vine! Will come again for sure
We booked a table at this restaurant, which we hadn't been to before. It was a table for three. The place was small, a bit cramped, but cozy. The service was good. The menu consisted of starters: black pudding, fried pork belly, and cured meats—that's it. A few more starters, perhaps something vegetarian or seasonal, would have been appreciated. We reserved a quarter of suckling lamb, but they served us the leg, for €70. The roast was decent, nothing special. The salad, which they clearly stated wasn't included with the suckling lamb, cost €20. They should also make that clear, although the portion was generous and the tomatoes were tasty, which was appreciated. Our overall impression: very average food, good service, but a bit pricey. €50 per person. It felt like there was no kitchen. The menu consisted of cured meats, oven-baked items (black pudding, fried pork belly, roast), and salad. I like the simplicity of the format, but the price should reflect that.
The pork belly was very good. The salad was spectacular. The roast lamb was cooked well but lacked flavor; I've had better. The dessert was just average, dulce de leche. The waitress seemed rushed, even though the restaurant wasn't full when we arrived. A large group came in, and it was very noisy.
We were a group of six for lunch and chose this grill restaurant because of the Google reviews and because we couldn't get a reservation at two other well-known restaurants in Valladolid with such short notice. We ordered roast suckling lamb, which was the main reason for our visit, a salad (as recommended as a side dish), a cheese salad, a Serrano ham salad, a bottle of wine, and a bottle of water. The Serrano ham was just the bottom of the bowl it was served in; the slices were very thick and, although it tasted good, the portion was ridiculously small for the price. The cheese was just okay... although it tasted good, the amount was insufficient, but it was the least of our complaints. The salad wasn't on the menu, and they recommended it to accompany the roast lamb. Lettuce, onion, tomato, and that was it. The joke was that the whole thing cost €20, even though it was a big meal, it's not even worth €3 worth of meat. It's a rip-off, really… They told us they were serving half a suckling lamb, which was supposed to be enough for four people… I have to admit it tasted good, but the price they hit you with without even telling you was outrageous: €130 for “half a suckling lamb.” For us, for the price you pay, it was very underwhelming, mostly bone and not much meat… they're crazy with the prices… We also ordered a bottle of wine (the cheapest one) and a bottle of water. No dessert. The service wasn't bad; they treated us well, although there are things that could be improved. At the end, they gave us some shots and some "zapatillas" (a typical Valladolid pastry) (very tasty). €216 total (€72 per couple). Personally, I wouldn't eat there again. I don't think the price is fair for what they offer… someone needs to put a stop to this trend of making everything expensive. 20 euros for a salad or a plate of ham was highway robbery for us… 130 euros for half a suckling lamb was another…
We had lunch with friends a few days ago. We wanted to try a grill restaurant we hadn't been to before, so we decided on Asados Carolina. We made a reservation for 13 people to eat roast lamb, although in the end only 12 of us could go. The place is small but cozy. The lamb was, in my opinion, overcooked. Besides the appetizers we ordered, we were served three platters of already-carved lamb, one larger than the other two, and three salads. We were told at the beginning that the lamb came with salad and that its price was not included in the price of the lamb. Our surprise came with the bill, where each salad cost €20 (had we known, we wouldn't have ordered three) and where we paid for seven quarters of lamb. In this case, the surprise wasn't the price (€65 per quarter) but the fact that those three platters of lamb didn't actually contain seven quarters of lamb. This is the first time they haven't shown us the suckling lamb before carving it, and of course, the first time they've brought it to us already carved from the kitchen. So it's impossible to know if there were seven quarters of suckling lamb or not, but what is certain is that if twelve people had eaten that much lamb, we would have left the restaurant stuffed, which wasn't the case. We all left with the feeling that we'd been ripped off in our own city, and that when we go to a steakhouse we don't know, we have to be careful. It's a shame. I'm including a photo of the large platter of suckling lamb and the bill.
