CASH only But there is an atm right nextdoor with only a $2 fee The empanada are absolutely fantastic fried fresh to order they come out piping hot and krispy and the dough is as perfect as you can get it I had the spicy beef and spicy chicken the filly was full of flavor but not overwhelming each bight was a crunchy bite bursting with flavor. And they are larg enough that you only need 2 to be fat and happy.
OPEN FOR TAKEOUT! Really delicious empanadas. We had the spicy beef & cheese (amazing), potato & cheese (delicious, sliced/herby potatoes), pepperoni (delicious & unique), ricotta and arabe (THE BEST!!). Highly recommended and the dessert cookies/pastries are delicious too! Glad I finally made it here & I’ll definitely be back soon.
A quaint gem. The gentleman welcomed you into the restaurant as if it was his own home. Don’t even get me started on the empanadas! When I asked if they were the best in LA he replied “No, on this whole blue rock”. I’d have to agree.
The empanadas are outstanding Spices chicken is quite delicious. Unlike other places I've been you bite and it's real ingredients not all ground up. I'll recommend it to anyone who wants something super delicious
The best empanada place! The empanadas were delicious!! Also the alfajores. The owner is very nice. I really recommend this place 🥰
Super tasty empanadas! So much flavor! Each bite leaves you wanting another! When you finish you’re already reaching for the next one! I got a variety of them, from spicy chicken to cheese and potatoes! There wasn’t one I didn’t like. Me and a couple friends finished a dozen in less than 24 hours. We couldn’t stop. These are some of if not the best empanadas I’ve ever had. The layers and depth of flavors were impressive! Spicy chicken and Criolla, lemon herb beef, and picante were my favs but they’re all bomb! They’re also really big so one to two per person should be good to start but trust, you’ll want more!
Great food and exceptional service! Shane greeted me immediately and I felt right at home there :) The homemade empanadas were very filling and tasty. The dessert cookie was special. Will be returning, highly recommend! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Thank you Shane for a wonderful experience!
So delicious! AmaIng mom and pop shop. Every bite was worth it, and you can taste the love put into it.
Best empanadas in LA! I'm picky when it comes to empanadas: the dough, the fillings and how it's cooked... these are top notch the best ones. They're big! so the price is fair for the size and quantity. also you can tell they fry them in the moment
We so much love going to Empanada's Place. We have been going for years and it never disappointments. The owner is usually there, but all of the staff is the best. They will tell you everything you need to know. The place is so cute with a little gift area and cool photos and art on the walls. There is limited seating indoor and out. We have done it all, but we tend to just get a dozen empanadas and take them home. They are close to us. They don't stay open late so get there before 6 pm. The service is fast and the place is always ever so clean. They treat all customers like family and appreciate the business. They make all types of empanadas and some are mild and some are pretty spicy. They are great for gatherings of friends or holidays. They also have great sandwiches. You will love this place and they will love you.
Some food is so good that you black out while you eat it and this is exactly what happened. I got the spicy chicken empanada and it tasted like a chicken roast inside. The chicken was tender, easy to pull apart, and the filling was soupy but not too oily in the slightest. I had had a spicy chicken empanada before, which tasted like they just added hot sauce to the chicken, but this one tasted like it was slow cooked to actually let the flavors seep in. The atmosphere is very warm and the owner is super nice. Note that it’s cash only!
I take home to reheat in the oven. You can also freeze them and reheat for 25 minutes at 350 degrees.
I was craving empanadas and stumbled upon this place. It was a Saturday and I found parking easily in the adjacent lot but there was plenty of street spots open as well. The staff were so friendly. It’s cash only but there’s a gas station with an ATM across the street. The food came out within ten minutes and it was so fresh. I absolutely loved the flavors of each empanada I ordered plus there were plenty of vegetarian options for my friends. I will definitely be coming back!
You can taste genuine Empanadas here. I recommend ordinary one and spicy chicken one. The master was kind and gave us the macarons for free since maybe there was no other customers at that time (but don't demand it). Note: Cash only
Great empanadas with assorted flavors. Big and filling. They place is nicely decorated. They have indoor and outdoor seating. All empanadas are fried when you order them. Everything is fresh. It's cash only. It's kind of pricey for snacks.
This is a family owned and run little hidden gem in Mar Vista, I can’t believe I haven’t been there before! I had the Arabe empanada and the Spicy Cheese empanada with Chimichurri sauce on the side. They were both delicious! The owner was very kind and sweet, he gave me a complimentary Alfajor that was insanely good. I’m definitely going back to try more of their food and drinks. PS: Make sure to bring cash because they don’t accept any other payment method!
Absolutely amazing empanadas! It’s cash only, but completely worth it. This place is run by the sweetest man who goes out of his way to make sure you enjoy everything. 10/10
Heard about this place from a patient of mine. Has been going there since the 80s. Great delicious and huge Empanadas. They are fried and crispy. They are made to order so they come out hot and fresh. I got the traditional Argentinian empanada the Criolla. It had beef, some raisins, hard boiled egg and seasonings. The parking is at the front, green curb for 30 minutes. Which was convenient since they are on a busy street with a freeway entrance a few blocks away. I would suggest to order ahead. It took about 15 minutes for mine to get ready since they only cook when you order. People there are friendly. Will definitely come back and try their sandwiches.
As an Argentinian, this reminded me of home 🥹. Will definitely come back
I went here for lunch on a friend's recommendation. I've lived in Palms for a long time and sometimes these hidden gems escape you. I've driven past this restaurant so many times yet I'd never even seen it. I'm glad my friend pointed it out to me, and I'm glad I popped in. The entrance is unassuming, but just step inside and you're in a quaint Argentinean cafe with beautiful foliage, old-fashioned table cloths and flowers on all the tables. (I haven't even ordered yet!) "It's Cash Only, It's Okay?" (sweet lady at the front counter) I had to go grab some cash, but I did, I came back and ordered two empanadas and a cup of coffee. I tried the Criolla (ground beef, raisins, green onion, and spices), and the Ricotta (ricotta, mushrooms, and basil). I thoroughly enjoyed them both. I will definitely be back for more; these were expertly crafted empanadas. The coffee, which I enjoyed after, was good. And I don't know why he did it, but the gentleman who worked there brought me a little cookie to have with the coffee, and I'm so glad he did. I'd have never known the wonders otherwise, the cookie was a perfect accompaniment to the coffee. He said it was a dulce de leche caramel rolled in coconut.
Not cheap and not expensive and worth it!! They have at least five vegetarian flavors and dive meat flavors. We drive up, ordered, ready in 10 min!! Came with a tomato watery sauce with a mild kick. Yum!! My favorite veg flavor was either potato and cheese or spinach. Ricotta was savory sweet as they added roasted onions to play up the sweetness and mushrooms. I would say more sweet than savory. The crust was perfection all round. Been a year since I've been back and hope to go more often. They deserve all the praise and business and glad they are still her and surviving thru covid times!!
Cash only. Good empanadas, fairly large, fried but kinda pricey. Nice that they make a beef empanada with raisins like in argentina. Also good to see onions and cheese empanadas which are less common over here. I like the interior of the local, very homie.
Authentic, welcoming over 40 years serving the community. Owner/ operator. Cash only. Not only are the empanadas huge, delicious, savory & crispy. The Milanese sandwich was Amazing & the chimichuri THE BEST in L.A.
The criolla empanada, a typical traditional Argentinean empanada, may be the best one I’ve had so far. The taste of the ground beef in the filling is splendid. Also got the spicy chicken and the spinach with cheese which were great as well. The dough is nicely fried and they’re all made fresh. Only unfortunate thing is the chimichurri sauce is $5 for a small 4 oz serving. It’s also a lot saucier/wetter than other versions I’ve had, but it’s still pretty tasty and vinegary. Will come back to try the sandwiches sometime.

When I say this place is amazing I’m actually underselling it. I could eat myself into bankruptcy on these. Every one I’ve tried is better than the last. They even reheat well. So so so good. They are like $7/8 a piece and you will definitely eat more than one. I’ve been telling everyone I know about it since going for the first time. So much flavor. Cash only though
This place is great. I ordered 2 criolla empanadas for takeout and I believe they were the best empanadas I have ever tasted. The guy at the counter was super sweet and offered me free sauce and a cookie :) would definitely go back!
So bomb. Cash only great empanada probably the best in Los Angeles, but there isn't a lot of competitors. A little pricey but still very good. You can eat there but it's really a take away spot.
This little empanada spot had flaky pastry and interesting fillings — I tried a spicy beef and a spinach-cheese that were both flavorful. The sauces they serve on the side were bright and tangy, perfect for cutting richness. The counter staff chatted about the daily specials and gave a friendly vibe. It’s the kind of place you spot and immediately plan to come back to. Great for a handheld, portable meal.

Their empanadas are the best. Got the spicy beef and the spicy chicken - each had perfect crispy pastry filled with flavorful filling spiced just right. Best we've had in so cal.
I was excited to try empanadas again after my trip to Argentina, then one of the bites I noticed this white hair inside. Probably the chef doesn't wear a hair net. We cannot see the chef or kitchen staff because they are in a separated room.
