What a delightful night we had at Trattoria Altanella! Alessandro was a wonderful server and told us his family has owned the restaurant for 5 generations. We had an incredible Spaghetti a le Vongole, fried cod, gnocchi, and scallops. Can’t recommend this place enough and would love to visit again some day. Absolutely sublime.

This trattoria is a hidden gem, tucked away on a narrow street — and I’m so glad we followed the recommendation and came here. The place is cozy and full of character, with an authentic bar counter and a wonderful view of a quiet canal away from the crowds. The staff are exceptionally warm, attentive, and professional — their hospitality and charisma make the whole experience unforgettable, and tipping here truly feels like a heartfelt thank-you. The food and local wine were outstanding. I tried the Venetian specialty Bigoli di Bassano alla salsa di acciughe, while my husband had Gnocchi di patate fatti in casa con carciofi e mazzancolle — both dishes were excellent and gave us a deeper appreciation of Venetian cuisine. A place full of charm that we would happily return to again and again.

Patio esterno molto carino e romantico - ma semplice e non pretenzioso - sul canale. Vale la pena per una cena alla Giudecca, conduzione familiare e proprietari e personale molto gentili - pronti a raccontarti la storia del luogo e qualche curiosità su Venezia e dintorni. Crudo buono, anche i primi gustosi (tagliatelle nere fatte in casa con scampi davvero ottime, spaghetti con gambero crudo e buttata buoni e freschi, forse un po’ troppo forte l’acidulo del limone). Seppe al nero di seppia con polenta un po’ pesantine, ma da dividere in due vanno benissimo. Davvero carino per una cena di coppia. Considerazione personale: cameriere gentile e simpatico, forse un po’ troppo “presente” (in una cenetta di coppia, quando stiamo mangiando, forse un po’ invadente venire a chiacchierare così spesso con i clienti).

Ho prenotato in questo posto per il mio compleanno. Già prima di arrivare sapevo mi sarebbe piaciuto, la vista del dehor sul lago dal ponte era meravigliosa. Situato sul sestiere "Giudecca" ci si arriva con il vaporetto, piccola passeggiata e su è al ristorante, a conduzione famigliare da 4 generazioni e la quinta in progress. Atmosfera davvero gradevole e cibo buono. Crudo consigliato cosi come i primi. Le uniche pecche è che all’inizio abbiamo aspettato un po nonostante il ristorante non fosse pienissimo. (Piccola considerazione personale: i primi erano un po piccoli). Per il resto bella esperienza. A fine cena una bella chiacchierata con il proprietario che ci ha raccontato la storia del ristorante e un po di curiosità su Venezia. Se torno sicuramente sarà una tappa, magari per mettere la quinta stella. Grazie.

Bel ristorante con terrazza direttamente sul canale. Servizio cortese, piatti curati e buoni, dal sapore ricercato, non i classici acchiappaturisti! Prezzi non esosi, per essere a Venezia.

Bella location, semplice ma piacevole e con parziale vista sul Bacino di San Marco. Fuori dal caos delle mete più turistiche, permette di passare una bella serata in compagnia, o una cenetta romantica. Consigliato.

Ci siamo trovate molto bene, ci è piaciuto moltissimo il baccalà mantecato. Degne di nota le seppie al nero e il fegato alla veneziana. Il vino della casa è stata una bella sorpresa.

Bellissimo posto, cibo buono e servizio altrettanto, un po’ caro i dessert ma buoni, consigliato!

The Mother’s Day special Italian burger was quite exceptional. It’s about 10 story high with super thick pattern. Treatment was rather unique in Venetian style. The owner served us and I showed him a Google photo of himself telling them. He was famous and he was embarrassed. Overall, it was a pleasant dining experience.

Seen this restaurant a few times from the bridge, and been eager to go. Went on a slow weekday, and even though there was only one other table busy I could not sit at any waterfront table as these were kept (for who knows). Nobody came while I had lunch. Felt like being in the wrong place. Since this kind of put me off, as I did not feel appreciated as a guest, it’s only 4 stars since the food was delish. Authentic, traditional and well cooked. Siamo andati per il pranzo di Pasquetta seguendo i consigli della mitica guida Corto Sconto di Fuga e Vianello. Il ristorante è senz'altro buono, il personale estremamente garbato e cordiale, era un vero piacere parlare con i camerieri, grande l'attenzione verso le materie prime freschissime. Unici due nei, non da poco, i prezzi e le quantità. Spendere cento euro in due senza saziarsi non è il massimo. La maggior delusione forse è arrivata dalla "degustazione altanella", indubbiamente molto buona ma per 24€ veramente una miseria.

Locale storico con piacevolissima terrazzina su canale tranquillo in Giudecca, che in inverno viene coperta e armata di lampade termiche, quindi rimane a una temperatura piacevole. Piatti buoni, porzioni normali anche se, personalmente, non mi han riempito molto. Oltre ai piatti in foto (rispettivamente: Tagliolini neri fatti dalla casa con scampi, pomodorini e zucchine & Spaghetti alle vongole e pomodorini), abbiamo ordinato un pesce alla griglia, un po' insipido e in generale non ciò che mi sarei aspettata da un trattoria di pesce, in retrospettiva non lo riordinerei.

A legendary address, once frequented by politicians and artists — you can still feel the history in the atmosphere. However, the meal itself was rather unremarkable unless you go for the signature dishes, which we didn’t. Without those, the experience felt quite ordinary, with nothing particularly memorable on the plate. To truly enjoy what this place has to offer, it’s probably best to stick to the classics that built its reputation.

Food was ok basically all the mains cost €18 and they charged me and my friend €7 to use the cutlery-plates and table cloth and then €2:30 each to sit in the restaurant. Ps... you don't get to keep the cutlery or table cloth. Service Waiter, was good tho.

The service was good and the food was fine. The view and the patio here were definitely the best features though. The only remarkable dish was the octopus starter, perfectly cooked and well balanced with the salad. The fried fish, veggies, and purple pasta with shrimp were all okay.

Disappointed by their current score ... if the place itself worth it ... the cuisine is far from what expected ! I ordered a duck breast (23€), it was too cooked (I like it “rosé”) and accompanied with salad leafs from a bag picked up from the fridge ... my partner took the inked pasta with langoustine, that was ok ... but nonetheless ... this place does not deserve its 4,3/5 even with boss’ smile !

All'ingresso, riferimenti a un libro sull'Italia civile, una bandiera con la parola "Pace", musica jazz .... E una domanda quando si va a prenotare : per quante persone? "Una. Viaggio da solo" Quindi, per il pranzo verso mezzogiorno, forse; per la cena, impossibile, è tutto pieno. Un tavolo per una sola persona?non è redditizio. Deludente, signori Altanella. Più che in un libro sull'Italia civile, dovreste essere sul Financial Times. Per fortuna non tutti i ristoratori della mia amata Giudecca operano allo stesso modo. Avevo appena consumato una splendida cena da solo da Al Cacciatori.
