⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5 stars This place gets high reviews and I can see why. The food was very delicious. I ordered the meatballs and the meat was juicy and done well. I would totally recommend this place.
Good food (rainbow trout a la plancha was delicious) and friendly staff who made every effort to adjust the meal the way I wanted it. Probably the best restaurant in the area
Best food we had in Mocoa.
Gourmet..
It was so great to go to a nice restaurant and enjoy the view the atmosphere and the food. The food was excellent and tasty and the service was also great. Pleasant evening
Very good food. Great quality and presentation. Wouldn't say it's expensive as I found it very reasonable for the quality which far exceeds some dishes I've had for the same price in Colombia. The grilled chicken was incredible, and the portion was huge.
5-stars overall. In my opinion, one of the best restaurants for 2024 in Mocoa. The food is good; despite the fact I consider some of the vegetables in my plate werent as fresh as I wish (considering how hard is to get fresh vegetables in the area) is no major issue. The prepared coctails are good. Attention is superb; they saw I brought a cake and though someone was in birthday (my partner in that case) and they give a small cute cupcake and candle-fireworks as gift. Ambience is really nice: they sometimes has live dj, in the day you can see the churumbelos montain area from the balcony; in the night the bar arragement and lighting transform the interior in a good place for crispy photos.
The food is very good! I like the cazuela de marisco a lot a lot
Corto is one of the best hidden gems in Hoboken! The food is absolutely delicious, fresh, authentic, and full of flavor. The menu changes with the season, and every dish feels like it’s made with so much care and high-quality ingredients. The pasta is homemade and a must-try! The space is cozy, casual, and has a very warm neighborhood feel. One of the best parts is that it’s BYOB, so you can bring your favorite bottle of wine to enjoy with your meal. Perfect for a relaxed date night or dinner with friends. The staff is super friendly and knowledgeable, always happy to explain the dishes and make you feel at home. Definitely a spot I’d recommend if you’re in Hoboken , just make a reservation because it gets busy!
My friends and I absolutely loved Corto our waiter was amazing in recommending dishes to us and setting the vibe for the dinner. We loved the eggplant pasta and the toast with ricotta. Everything was delicious and will definitely be back! We got the angry chicken, pork shoulder, allll the pastas ( cause why have 1 when you can have 5), the watermelon salad, the burrata, and the ricotta honey toast.
The food, service and setting were superb, but the biggest takeaway is the soul of this place. It's a charming, small restaurant with chefs busy (and joyfully noisy) working in the back, a smiling hostess and Genesis, our engaging guide for the night. My son ordered an assortment of cheese/salumi and a crisp salad to start. Tasty rigatoni and a rich mushroom pasta (strozzapreti- my fave dish of the night) followed and a spicy, succulent chicken ended the meal. Tables were rarely empty and guests (including some taking food to-go) seemed truly happy to be there. The only sticker shock was just how reasonable the bill was. P.S. I wish more restaurants had a BYOB policy. Reservations are a necessity.
It’s the exact kind of place you want to go to get a really really good and heartfelt meal where all the ingredients are special and fresh, and every dish is made from scratch with careful thought and preparation. Simple yet complex, familiar yet nuanced, the menu is short or “corto” like the restaurant name. And though it’s one page, it’s really hard to decide what to get because everything is a winner. We tried the Rigatoni, Strozzapreti, and Angry Chicken. Each dish was pleasantly balanced flavor-wise and texture-wise. The Rigatoni has a delightful mint twist, the Strozzapreti was unbelievable (never had anything like it) and the Angry Chicken is probably the most tender chicken I’ve had at a restaurant, with the perfect spicy kick. This rustic gem has an energy and a personality of quality and nourishment for the body, mind and soul. We felt so good after eating this beautiful food. The ingredients had to be top quality and I could feel they were highly bioavailable because i felt full but light afterwards without the digestive discomfort that comes with most dining experiences where restaurants only care about profit. Not Corto. Corto cares about quality and nourishment. Everyone working there was incredibly passionate and proud of the restaurant’s menu and ethos. This was a very special meal and I hope you experience the joy of dining there someday soon. BYOB if you’re drinking, otherwise they have some very pleasant nonalcoholic beverages on the menu.
We had a party of 8 for their prix fixe menu to celebrate our one year olds birthday. Great value since they had generous portions. Favorite dishes that I’ll definitely get again were the olive oil cake, the angry chicken, Ricotta and honey toast, and strozzapreti. Ambiance is really nice, nice sound dampening elements around the room keeping it from getting too loud. Music is low and chill. Server was fantastic as well!
Our friends had been telling us about Corto for a long time now and we finally got to go with them this past weekend for lunch on Sunday and it not only lived up to the hype but also exceeded it! It’s a great place to go and share meals, where everyone can try a little bit of everything. We practically ordered the whole menu. The tomato soup was one of the best I’ve ever had and the seasonal squash with prosciutto was delicious. Everything is so fresh and used such unique combinations of flavors that are so well executed. The rigatoni is a classic staple you can’t go wrong with. The pistachio spaghetti had a hint of citrus served with the Italian sausage but was overall nutty so you gotta be into that. The favorite pasta was the truffle strozzapretti by far, I can’t wait to go back and have it again! We then had the angry chicken which was perhaps the juiciest chicken I’ve ever had and the pork shoulder was so flavorful and tender. We will certainly be back!!
BYOB Baby! In addition to that everything was fantastic. Chuck was our server and he was fantastic. The chef told us about the peppers in olive oil we could buy as well as an almond spread. The rigatoni had a wonderful sweetness as well as quite a kick in the spice level. The dill salad had great light flavors. The pork was seasoned so nicely and they really let it speak for itself without too much salt or a heavy, overpowering amount of spices. The olive oil cake was delightful and lovely with a hint of citrus. Everything was beautifully done, it was a quiet evening in a fantastic place. Great for a date or your family. We found a parking lot about a 5 minute walk away.
I have been dying to go to Corto for as long as I could remember. I finally got the opportunity to go for the first time for an early dinner last Saturday with one of my friends. Although the menu is on the smaller end, there were many options to choose from. Our waiter was exceptional, very knowledgeable and let us know that some menu items change seasonally. We sat in the heated patio which surprisingly got very loud when dinner ramped up. My friend and I tried two appetizers, two pastas and shared a main and dessert. The basil and mint on the spicy rigatoni was refreshing. Our favorite for the table was the mezzeluna pasta. I think we’ll be back in 2-3 months to see how the menu has changed and maybe order one of each pasta!
We have always loved Corto as our go-to dinner spot - it's warm, welcoming, delicious, just an overall good atmosphere and high quality food. And we've always had celebratory dinners here, so it only made sense that it's where we got married! The entire event was flawless thanks to Theresa, Chef Matt, and the entire Corto team. Their flexibility allowed us to execute everything we envisioned - the flow, setup, food (custom menu curated with Chef), drink (byob), ambiance, and decor (they provided EVERYTHING except table name tags and flowers). Their pastry chef Jeanette also made our wedding cake! Our family had a wonderful time and only had good things to say, especially about the food. Highly recommend if you're looking for a small, intimate and unique event space. Or just a really really good meal.
Restaurante elegante, ideal para celebraciones o comidas especiales. Los platos son muy ricos, pero toman tiempo en su preparación, así que toca tener paciencia, el servicio y la amabilidad pueden mejorar.
Elegant and tasty.
I didn't end up eating here, but just a note to inform other vegetarians that, despite what Google says, there aren't really vegetarian options. There is a salad with chicken and shrimp that can be removed, but that's it, so I was told. The space is nice. Prices for mains look to be in the 50-70K range, appetisers are 40-50K.
One of the 3 best places for lunch or dinner in Mocoa
Best food I had in Colombia, comes close to european standards! Expensive for Colombian standards though.
I would give this place 3.5 stars. The food was delicious, and the service was good. However, we were seated at the outside terrace, and the heat was blowing directly at us. That made the whole dining experience uncomfortable. Portion size is small. But the food was delicious, and the place is BYOB.
4.5 starts Pleasantly surprised by this not so hidden gem in Jersey city (the heights). I walked into Corto for an early lunch & it was well worth the drive. I snagged a seat at the pasta bar & got a front row view of the chefs prepping and working their magic in the kitchen. This simply designed small restaurant is very cozy, offers comfortable seating, and also has a very nice outdoor patio set up in the back of the restaurant. I tried the Ricotta & honey toast that was spectacular. All the ingredients tasted fresh and blended together perfectly. The ricotta gnocchi was DELICIOUS, every bite was better than the last was not drenched in sauce & the meat complimented it so well. The citrus olive oil cake with strawberry jam was truly the perfect way to end my meal. A light but dense cake that had freshly made jam & whipped cream was a knock out treat. The service was welcoming & top notch. Not only did both servers come to check how the meal was going, the chef also checked on me periodically being that I was seated right in front of the kitchen, leaving me to enjoy my meal but when they did (pop in) they were very informative & gave me little bits of information on each dish that I had. To keep it short, Corto is a neighborhood gem tucked into the heights that everyone all over the city (or state) should know of & visit at least once. I look forward to visiting in the VERY NEAR future.
Well, ain't this a gem of a middle-of-nowhere place? Blocks away from the unremarkable "hub" of the West Side and across from a nondescript park with stunning views of Manhattan is Corto, an Italian-American pasta factory to make your nonna proud (or at least complain less). If you come during warm times, you have the added bonus of choosing between sitting in the rustic chic interior that looks like the cover of any Giada De Laurentiis/generic American woman's cookbook, or the mostly-covered, plant-filled patio that looks like the cover of any issue of Home & Gardens (Spring Issue). We enjoyed the wonderfully al dente Rigatoni, which didn't skimp on the Calabrian chiles and came wonderfully infused with fresh basil and mint. The Spaghetti was a worth adversary, loaded with local mushrooms, butter, thyme, Grana Padano, and truffle. Gun to my head, I'd pick the Rigatoni because I'm a red sauce girl, but the fungi lover in me would not be upset with more of the latter dish. We also gorged on the pricey-but-worth-it Whole Sea Bream. I've had a lot of whole sea bream/branzino in the past few years, since it seems to be one of the easiest (and trendiest) ways for restaurants to charge a 200%+ mark-up for otherwise inexpensive fish. But I haven't had one that came with a sauce made with local corn, heirloom tomatoes, shishito and serrano peppers. Suffice it to say: La salsa was unbelievably delicious, and the addition of the sweet and crunchy corn was the perfect touch. Service was friendly and attentive despite our being tucked away in a corner of the large patio. Would most definitely come back.
Ciao tutti!!! You go to this place for the atmosphere and the quality of the people caring for you. Food? No great, just good. Do not plan to go here in one of those days that you are hungry unless that you plan to order appetizer, pasta, main course and dessert (which will take you well above the $100 per person). Portions are small and there are no such a thing as sides coming with it. Pasta without bread is sacrilegious in Italian culture and even when you ask for it...they do not toast it to make it crispy (as in should be.) Lastly, the "heated patio", it is a "barely heated patio", they should remove those heater that are just a waste of energy. That being said, in a day with nice wheatear I recommend the patio. I went for a second time to confirm and things were slightly better. Still they don't toast the bread!! As and Italian place they should at least warm it up or ask about the people's preferences.
Homemade pasta, handmade dessert, and a small intimate vibe. We took three different types of pasta ranging from good to great and the angry chicken, which was very spicy. Dessert was a cheesecake which was excellent and a chocolate cake which was dry and not so great. overall this is a good but not great eatery if you’re in the Neighbourhood definitely worth stopping by but not worth going out of your way for.
Received a steak after some discussion with two waiters who said that medium was the lowest degree. Finally got a medium rare Bife Ancho, and of the advertised 450g 150g were sinews and had to be cut away I tried with the standard knife, then with my Swiss Army Knife, no dice, and asked for another knife and received a big one. Still unable to cut the sinews I kind of butchered along the hard parts and scraped the edible parts off. So far for the "best restaurant in Putamayo". Also ordered a whisky sour that was actually rather good, but only a half glass full, the rest foam: about 1dl. Go figure, the smallest cocktail I received in Colombia. I ordered a coke. So here you have it. If they'd get more of the basics right, it could indeed be a good restaurant. So, unfortunately, just mediocre.
Food was good - flavorful but small portions. We liked the ricotta gnocchi and the pork was cooked well. We ordered the pavlova and chocolate cake. We were told it’s a chocolate olive oil cake? Some confusion with the dessert. The chocolate cake was dry and tasteless. Worst I’ve ever had. Pavlova was good. The host was great, but our server wasn’t. I asked about the alcohol in the dishes because I’m pregnant, I wanted to make sure it’s evaporated with the cooking process. She kinda brushed me off a bit and I felt I was getting lectured. Somehow she seemed ticked off that I asked? For dessert, I wanted espresso but asked if they have decaf. They don’t, that’s fine. The server responded to me with “I didn’t give up coffee when I was pregnant”. I told her I didn’t either. Why are you assuming that? You don’t know me. It was 7 PM and I don’t want to be awake past my bedtime. I ordered the espresso which did not come at the same time as the dessert. We had to ask for it to be brought over. The women who work there had long nails. I have my Servsafe manager certification. From a food safety standpoint long nails is a no-no.
Pros: we had a nice waitress. The garden seating in the summer was nice and calm. The main courses, the sea bream and pork pork shoulder dishes were well prepared. Great presentation and taste. And the olive cake was by far my favorite. Cons: with all the positive things I said, the place could easily be a 4-star place. The Dilly salad was sandy, not sure it was because of the potato or the lettuce. We brought it up hesitantly, and the owner was indifferent about it, a little arrogant in my opinion. The pasta has a great texture, but is way too salty. We both were very disappointed after the first two courses.
Food and drink are very expensive and extremely average. Service is super slow. On the positive side the sitting area is nice.
