Such a treat ! Wonderful cooking with fresh food ! The people there speak some English and treated us so good. Lighty place, cute atmosphere. Highly recommended !
Great lunch and nice atmosfere
It was fantastic! The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, and the food and service was outstanding. The octopus was tender and flavorful, and the tuna was perfectly prepared. A wonderful dining experience – highly recommended!
This restaurant has really exceptional food (and I have eaten a lot in Italy). I highly recommend the ravioli. My companion had the horse (and before you get on your high horse, they are no more intelligent than cows) Pignata which was superb. There is a reasonably priced selection of wines to match. They meal begins with crudites and very tasty focaccia.
Lovely decor, warm reception, delicious bits of appetizers; excellent menu and wine list; superb food, both the local orecchiette (alla crudaiola) and ravioli with a fish filling. The owner is willing and able to speak English (though we weren't!) with travelers without Italian. Mesagne is a beautiful town to visit and stay over in--and the Leone is highly recommended.
Delicious seasonal lunch, cooked to perfection. Standout dish tuna capaccio with pistachio and olives. Great service from our waitress. Wonderful ambiance and decor, modern and relaxing. A joy to eat here - best lunch in the area!

Very very excellent restaurant. Super service, very kind. And the dishes were extraordinary delicious!! We had antipasti and it didn’t stop to be delivered. I can’t say how many we got. Fantastic! You sit directly next to the church and i between the bells are ringing, very romantic. The tables are decorated each with different table clothes, handmade in white. Very sweet. We love the food, style, mood extremely. Thanks for the superb evening!!

We have been traveling in Italy for a month, tasting many, many pasta dishes but the best one were at Osteria de leone: cavatelli ai tre pomodori. Simply magical! We dream of eating some again 🤩
I was here twice, had a carpaccio of octopus and of tuna, and main dishes of sward fish gratin and grilled tuna. The food is not only amazing, but the quality is well above the average. This is has nothing to do with usual Salento tourist trap, this is a place where to enjoy great food in a nice small piazza. Will come back!
Fantastic familiy restaurant in the middle of historical Mesagne; one of the best we've ever been to. Staff is lovely, helpful, very professional, friendly. Foods: best ever! We were given free tastes of everything...chef is outstanding (the mother!). At the foot of the old church...unbelievably super!🥂👍
Great restaurant! Nice decoration from the grand parents, it really got me to my childhood. The food is very good and from the regional tradition. The horsr meat rolls are a must! 😊 Everything was very delicious and we loved the friendly owner who was very helpful and patient.

The classic tourist trap, arrogant service and sloppy cooking. Not even close to value for money
Had one of the worst meals during our trip, so bad, that after, I had a pizza elsewhere which was excellent. Started off well sitting outside and given a amuse-bouche of a tomato bruschetta which was nice. Then took about 10-15mins for a waiter to take our order, then about 1 hour wait for our food with no explanation why or a heads up. When the food came, the mussels tasted of sewage. I ate 5 just in case one was bad and had to spit them out. They fortunately took it off the bill but didn’t apologize or show any remorse. Had the pasta with a few bits of overcooked rana. Then to get the bill took another 15mins, by then we went to the counter to pay and had to wait another 10mins. EUR 64 we ended up paying! 😖 All in all, very slow service, not good quality but expensive food and just an overall disappointment. Left with a bitter taste, hungry and with a fear of food poisoning from the mussels, we had a delicious Pizza at TIPO1, where I had to wait under 5mins 🤩
