Some trepidation given they only spoke limited English, and we were turned away the first time due to needing a lunch reservation (oops). You start with pasta, if you want it and then you approach the counter and they will serve you up whatever you request from behind the glass. The food was wonderful, and we were greatly in need of some vegetables after all the pasta we’d eaten during our trip. The young woman also wrote down the names of some of the dishes that we particularly liked. Very memorable meal, and We would love to return. Thank you!

This place made my day. Incredible value for money. We started with a pasta and afterwards you can choose whatever you like from the buffet. There are many vegetables too choose from and I have never had such tasty artichokes before. Everything was well seasoned and the owners are extremely friendly and joyful.

RESERVE!!! The bistro is always busy, with a constant flow of customers both for lunch and takeout. It's hard to find a table without a reservation. A simple, well-organized place, with a €13 menu during the week and €16 on Saturdays. Excellent, hearty dishes, good, fast, and attentive service. The owners are very helpful in explaining the buffet display and desserts. We had lunch there twice because we had such a great time. 😊

Small restaurant with a fixed menu. Simply furnished with paper tablecloths. I had a fantastic first course, gramigna with sausage and beans. A first course, a second course, and various cooked and raw side dishes are served buffet style. Lunch is a fixed price. The staff is friendly and helpful. A wonderful discovery.

A small but well-organized restaurant, with friendly and punctual service. A daily starter is offered, and there's a well-stocked buffet of vegetables, main courses, and cold appetizers (and desserts!), so you can eat as much as you want. Highly recommended for a reasonably priced lunch that feels right at home.

Finally, a restaurant in Mantua that treats tourists not like chickens to be plucked, but like people who invest their time and money to explore another city. Paolo made us feel at home with his friendly service and always asked if we wanted more of his extraordinary riso alla pilota. The fixed-price menu with unlimited second courses from the buffet really won us over. Thanks to you, our stay in Mantua was even better!

A lovely little spot for a quick but tasty lunch, greeted warmly by Paolo and his staff, who serve grated Parmesan directly from a large bowl to each customer at their table. The tagliatelle with sausage sauce are delicious, as are the various vegetable dishes prepared in various ways, savory pies, and flans. The place is well-known in the area, and the tables inside were all booked, but we still managed to find a table outside. The various dishes can also be ordered for takeout.

Trattoria con prezzi modici e pietanze abbondanti e saporite. Dopo il primo piatto servito a tavola, per i secondi e contorni è a buffet. Ottimo compromesso per un pranzo veloce e sostanzioso. Prezzo 12/15 Euro

Simple restaurant, friendly staff. During the week, €13 includes a first and second course (not your choice, but the daily selection), and then a side dish from the all-you-can-eat buffet. Drinks, water, coffee, and desserts are paid separately, but the prices are reasonable. The first and second courses were very good, but I have to point out the vegetables and the mini tarts or frittatas they serve as side dishes. They were cold; I'd recommend serving them at least lukewarm, otherwise they'd lose their deliciousness. The prices are fair, and the lunch is quick.
