⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Exceptional dining experience at Al Pescatore! The food was outstanding — the oysters were incredibly fresh and delicious, and every dish we tried was beautifully prepared. The atmosphere was relaxed and pleasant, with just the right noise level for conversation. What truly made the experience special was the service. Our waiter, Edoardo, was exceptionally professional, patient, and attentive. He went above and beyond to accommodate all our requests and gave us excellent recommendations for both food and wine. We especially loved the Primitivo Rosé he suggested — it paired perfectly with our seafood carpaccio. Edoardo’s care and attention really elevated our evening. We strongly recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting Bari — especially if you’re looking for fresh seafood, a warm welcome, and a memorable experience.

I have had the pleasure of eating at the Pescatore roughly once every two to three years for about 15 years. First as a couple, and now as a family. I have never been disappointed: the quality of the food and service is among the best you will find. It's a classic where the locals eat and guests are greeted by name and shown to their regular table. This year, Gianni was kind enough to serve us. He's a great guy: very attentive, funny, and full of good suggestions. Thank you. See you next time.

Our local guide strongly recommended this place for dinner. Reservations likely required as this place seems very popular. The restaurant has two lovely outdoor seating areas. We opted for inside due to the summer heat. The inside dining room is minimal with little decorations. It was very nice, clean, and the ambient music was volume was pleasant. Menu is seafood heavy, but there are plenty of choices. Even our very picky daughter found plenty to eat. We started with some oysters, which were very large and very tasty. We then had a risotto with various crustaceans which was delicious. Service was excellent and very friendly with recommendations and answering questions about the menu. This restaurant was certainly a highlight of our visit and we would strongly recommend.

Came upon this lovely friendly fish place by coincidence as we were walking from the old town of Bari. We were highly satisfied with the quality of the food, the efficient service and the ambience. We noticed that the main courses were quite generous so opted not to go for starters. But they were kind enough to get us two of their famous fresh white cheeses for us to sample as a compliment from the restaurant. We then had the grilled crayfish and oven baked fish with potatoes and olives, both delicious! We then had the berry tart which was nice also very tasty. We definitely will go again before we leave as there are other dishes we saw people having that looked amazing which we wanted to try. Highly recommend it. Went again 2 days later and had the fish soup which was crammed with different kinds of shellfish and the fettuccine with seafood, both amazingly delicious! I would like to point out the generous complimentary treats we got, the ricotta cheese at the beginning and then limoncello and a high quality chocolate bar to cut ourselves with a special chocolate cutter at the end of our meal. All in all, the staff were just wonderful. Thank you, it's been a memorable experience!

Ci siamo recati per la prima volta al ristorante Al Pescatore e andando per ordine, una volta di fronte al locale ,non c'era nessuna insegna. Abbiamo capito di essere lì dal grembiule nero dei camerieri. Veniamo accolti bene e senza prenotazione dal manager di sala che ci assegna un tavolo nella sala esterna (in pratica sul marciapiede e pure in pendenza con rischi quasi di dare il giro alle bottiglie). Chiediamo acqua naturale e ci portano acqua frizzante. Vabbe', chiediamo anche la naturale che ci viene portata. Di seguito il cibo ordinato: Crudo di mare=> sublime mancava però il limone. Cotto di mare=> ottimo, peccato però che si sono dimenticati di portarci le cozze gratinate. Riso patate e cozze=> ottimo fatto proprio alla barese Grliata mista=> ottima Ho segnalato queste piccole mancanze solo a scopo migliorativo per il titolare. Il cibo è ottimo, abbiamo mangiato bene e sicuramente ci ritorneremo. Prezzo sopra la media ma in linea con la qualità del cibo.

La struttura è situata vicino la cattedrale di San Nicola, l'accoglienza molto professionale. Il menu fornisce una vasta scelta di pesce e piatti da degustare. Abbiamo optato per il menù fisso di giornata(antipasto, primo,dolce e bevande )incluse, ottimo e abbondante, la cordialità del personale ci ha permesso di cambiare il primo piatto di uno dei commensali con un secondo di frittura. Prezzo pagato in linea con quanto mangiato. Consigliatissimo

Friday and weekends I would recommend to make a booking to secure a table, this place is popular and it gets crowded. Abbiamo pranzato in questo locale attirati dalla qualità del pesce, che in gran parte si è confermata ottima, specialmente negli antipasti. Purtroppo, però, l'esperienza è stata penalizzata da diverse mancanze nel servizio e nella cura dei dettagli. L'antipasto era delizioso e il pesce di base è di ottima qualità. I camerieri si sono dimostrati cordiali e gentili nonostante le criticità gestionali. Abbiamo dovuto usare posate sporche per servirci l'antipasto (portato in piatti comuni senza posate di servizio) finché non ne abbiamo chieste di nuove. I piatti venivano tolti non appena vuoti, mettendo fretta a chi stava ancora mangiando. Mancava anche un panno per il vino, con l'acqua del secchiello che finiva puntualmente sulla tavola. Nota dolente: c'era un'eccessiva quantità di sabbia nel primo (allego foto di una vongola piena) e la qualità del pesce nel primo non era all'altezza degli antipasti: le cozze erano piccole e il pesce risultava duro. Inoltre, non è stato portato un piatto per gli scarti. Al momento del conto è mancata la minima attenzione al cliente; un sorriso o una domanda sul gradimento avrebbero fatto la differenza. In sintesi: il potenziale c'è, ma i dettagli fanno la differenza e qui sono stati trascurati. Nel complesso buono, ma non mi sento di consigliarlo pienamente.

Tutto sommato ciò che abbiamo consumato era buono. Il prezzo no. 5 gamberoni arrosto 30€ è una ladrata. Non lo consiglio.

Crudi di pesce da 30, 80, 120 euro. Molto disponibili nel servizio, ma i piatti sono opinabili. Le cozze non erano buone. Solo 2 Gamberi nel platea da 80€ e mezzo scampo solo come guarnizione. Rombo lessato nel "guazzuglio". Circa 80€/coperto vino incluso (no dolci).

Esperienza pranzo. Antipasto di mare cotto 25€ (bruschetta con salmone e burro, bruschetta con alici e stracciatella, 7 cozze fresche, totani in bianco e polpo classico. Coperto 3€, acqua 3€, orata piccola con patate, pomodorini e olive (al forno) 25€. Porzioni normali, prezzi sopra la media. Consiglio di leggere le recensioni negative degli altri utenti per sapere come comportarsi con il personale, non è scortese, tuttavia è vero che non è chiaro e bisogna fare domande precise ed esigere precise risposte, non era chiaro il prezzo del pesce e la grammatura. Tuttavia con tali accortezze è possibile passare un pranzo abbastanza tranquillo. Il pesce è sicuramente fresco e locale (per il pesce da banco viene fatto scegliere tra quelli esposti, appena forniti). I primi vanno da 16 a 25€. 84€ per un pranzo, seppur di pesce ma con quelle quantità, non ne vale la pena. L’antipasto conteneva sì piatti molto buoni, ma anche piatti troppo semplici per rappresentare il prezzo che si porta alle spalle. Il pesce da banco (80€ /kg) soffre del prezzo eccessivo. Non male come esperienza, ma lo consiglio per gruppi grandi di persone (da 4 in su), per fare singoli assaggi di tutto e per non spendere troppo, come anche altri utenti riportano. Esperienza da fare una volta per sfizio.

Cibo buonissimo, purtroppo alla seconda bottiglia di vino il cameriere è arrivato con la bottiglia già aperta e con un vino diverso da quello indicato in etichetta. Hanno quindi riempito la bottiglia con un vino diverso. Qui si tratta di frode non oso immaginare cosa accade in cucina. Gli endata male perché siamo intenditori nonché Assaggiatori certificati ONAV. Fatte attenzione!

Cosa dire …..ero solito andare in questo ristorante ma l’ultima ho avuto una pessima esperienza. Un crudo mare e un antipasto misero….. il primo non e parliamo neanche purtroppo non riesco a salvare niente …… non capisco cosa sia successo. Mi dispiace….!!!!

Similar to what others have commented. Be careful when you eat here. Make sure you understood everything they said and everything you ordered. They also told us the seafood pasta was for 2 people so they ended up charging is for the dish twice 🙄 I would have gotten another dish if they were clear about it. The food was good. Seafood was fresh! Good ambiance the restaurant. The service was good in the sense that they were not rude but it took long. The most expensive meal we've had on our trip. Overall experience was ok!

Qualita' del crudo pessima ...tonno nero e puzzolente, pasta da menu' turistico con gamberi che sapevano di ammoniaca, insalata di mare con seppie gommose. È rinomato a Bari come uno dei migliori ristoranti di pesce, motivo per cui avevo grandi aspettative. Sono stato qui per la prima volta sabato scorso con tre amici. Abbiamo scelto la formula da 60€, ma purtroppo l’esperienza è stata molto negativa: tutte e quattro le persone del tavolo, nelle ore successive, hanno accusato forti malesseri con vomito, dolori allo stomaco e diarrea. A distanza di quasi una settimana, alcuni di noi hanno ancora problemi allo stomaco. È difficile non pensare che ci sia stato qualcosa che non andava, probabilmente legato alla freschezza del pesce. Un vero peccato, perché una situazione del genere ci ha rovinato la vigilia e il periodo natalizio. Esperienza decisamente deludente.

Scrivo questa recensione perchè la mia ragazza e un amica in comune avevano urgenza di usare il bagno, quindi chiedendo con gentilezza sono entrate. Ad un certo punto il titolare ha cominciato a bisbigliare queste parole " magàr s n vonn d càp ndèrr'. Al titolare dico questo: "Magàr t n vè tu d càp ndèrr". Bastava semplicemente dire di no...è da cafoni far entrare persone che vi hanno chiesto con gentilezza l'uso del bagno e poi buttare sentenze anche perchè se stava bagnato per terra (nel bagno) e si facevano male la colpa era vostra che avete fatto entrare le persone.

We ended up at this restaurant on a Sunday because it was the only place with available tables. In Bari’s Old Town, the better restaurants require a reservation, so plan ahead if you want a good experience. The food was average and forgettable, but the real issue was the service. It was incredibly slow and disorganised, with staff repeatedly telling us “just one minute” while we waited far too long for everything. For the high prices they charge, you would expect much better service and staffing. If you are not Italian, the staff seemed noticeably less attentive and welcoming to non-locals, which only added to the poor experience. We have had much better meals with far better service at more affordable places in Bari. Save your money and eat elsewhere.

The food at this restaurant was okay, nothing exceptional but decent. However, the service was extremely disappointing. The waiter was very rude and unprofessional — it felt like he didn’t want to be there at all. He was dismissive, walked away before we finished ordering, and made the whole experience uncomfortable. It was difficult to communicate with him, and his attitude came across as discriminatory, which made the situation even worse. Overall, it was a terrible experience. I would not recommend this place based on the service alone.
