Opinions de Cellar Door Visalia
Omg!!!! This place is incredible!!! I went to the VISALIA TALKS AND WINE event there last night and the people were so cool. Thank you Tate and the rest of your staff for making it such a successful place to hold events. The atmosphere is so appealing, there's local art ALL OVER the walls, beautiful comfy sofas for casual conversation, intimate areas with perfect lighting. The ambiance completely on point!!! Great job CELLAR DOOR❤️
I went here to see Shannon and the Clams and didn't know what I was walking into. I live in Clovis so I'm not familiar with Visalia but it was easy the find, there's a parking garage a couple blocks down, and the atmosphere was awesome. I hate to call it cozy but the small city vibe was extremely refreshing compared to some of the larger venues. The bartenders were on it for such a busy night and one of them in particular was very outgoing and fun loving, not something I'm used to! I'm keeping my eye on this venue now in hopes to go back.
The selection and prices of beers are great. The pizza always smells amazing, but I haven't tried it yet. I love the warm, ultra-lounge feel while still being very comfortable and inviting. Great concert venue.
I've only been to two shows here, but my experiences were great. Easy to get drinks from the friendly and swift bartenders, and since the stage is in the center, it's easy to get an up close look at whatever band is playing.
I have had great experiences here . The management and staff, always are happy and welcoming when they see me. As a comedian have preformed there several times . great people in the audience,.the after party's and nightclub is.lots.of.fun . So enjoy your self.
This place is amazing! We stumbled into it and ended up having some of the best food (and at a reasonable price) I’ve had in a while. Very friendly staff too. The orange chicken is to die for. Highly recommend!
Okay!!! I don't give out very many 5 Stars I can count them on One hand!!! I was impressed when I walk in, it was cool!! Most of all the Service was great!! The music was good all in all, I would recommend for a great time out of your day!! I am Steve( The Ghost) Jeffries give yourself a Treat go to the Cellar Door!!!
All I can say is that if heaven was a restaurant..CELLAR DOOR would be it! The food is like having a burst of flavors in your mouth made with love. The mixologist is like the gate keeper of alcohols…tell him your dreams and he’ll please. The customer service is top tear,It’s exactly what you would expect from the VIP highest end restaurants; they treat you like family.
I miss eating there. I miss the best cook he past away but I believe his daughter still works as one of down to earth Porterville gal. well mannered clean not real Fancy but makes your steak the way you wanted it cooked. Even have a doggy bag for left overs. And prices is just right.Fine people of all kinds go there to eat. Thanks a bunch.for maybe a big Lunch too.i like prime rib medium cooked baked potato and all the. trimmings as well.. I'm getting Hungry thinking about it all. Thank ya kindly.
I went here for a Drag Queen Bingo event I volunteered for. I love the set up of the place as it has a dedicated stage, a bar, and plenty of seatings. This place would be great for parties, events, maybe even a wedding if you don't want an expensive venue. Would come here for any public events that are available
Every time we have gone out to The Cellar Door, we have had a wonderful evening. We are usually meeting up with a group of 10 - 20 people and the staff always sets us up immediately with a huge table. The bar gets a little crazy once a show starts, but it's a bar, and it should be crazy during a show. I can't remember what the drink prices actually are, maybe because I drank a lot, because they have super reasonable prices. If the prices were outrageous, I would have been drinking water or pop. The club is always clean and well maintained including the restrooms. And yes, both men's and women's have always been clean and well stocked! They do check your I'D at the door every time you go and there has been a cover charge every time we have gone, but we are enjoying a few hours of great entertainment, well worth the $10 - $25 for seeing a concert in an intimate, comfortable club where we can kick back and hang out with friends and be close to the performers without large obnoxious crowds...not to mention meeting and talking with the singers and musicians...like Inspectah Deck and Masta Killa from Wu-Tang Clan and the group Wordsauce from SLO. Go see a show!
The food is amazing! Every single dish that we had from the menu was very flavorful! I will definitely keep coming back! Service was also excellent, everything there is made from scratch from the food to drinks at the bar!
Excellent place for dinner. We have loved what it has transformed into. The bartenders arr top notch, as well. Very creative . HIGHLY Recommend
The Cellar Door has reopened! The best part is they have the band "The Box". If you love live music you gotta watch these guys. 90's hip hop and R&B, cumbia, soul. They got it all.
July 2025 (5 Stars).... DJ Sterling hosting Karaoke Wednesday nights at 8 pm (unconfirmed) until approximately Midnight! Huge screen on stage (dance floor level) with great sound (a little loud in my opinion, but just barely), lights, and 2 microphones. They have an amazing selection of songs available. I don't think they have a catalog to thumb through. They have cold water cof free ar the end of the bar closest to the entrance. NO COVER CHARGE! 7 years ago.... 3 stars..... "It was fun dancing. I like that they have water available for you self serve."
Went here the other night for drinks, and ended up having dinner. Best ribeye I’ve ever had! Very relaxing atmosphere, with great food. My wife ordered a very fancy / uncommon drink, and the bartender did the research and knocked it out of the park! Love this place…
Their food is DELICIOUS and they have amazing cocktails. The steak bites are sooo tender and mouth watering good. I had a strawberry kiwi lemonade too. Highly recommend.
The Cellar Door was a pleasant venue with exceptionally attractive and attentive waitstaff who provided top-notch service. I would rate their waiter service as a solid 10/10. However, during our visit for lunch, the place seemed rather empty, which did allow for a peaceful dining experience. The music playing in the background was enjoyable, and it was refreshing to have a meal in such a serene atmosphere. For my lunch, I opted for the steak sandwich with a side of salad, accompanied by a refreshing glass of water. The steak sandwich was decent, although it was cooked closer to medium well rather than the medium rare I had requested. The salad, on the other hand, consisted of fresh ingredients, but the dressing was a bit too sour for my liking. Overall, I believe it would be worthwhile to revisit The Cellar Door during the evening when the ambiance is livelier. Despite the slight disappointment with the steak sandwich and dressing, the excellent service from the stunning waitstaff made the experience quite enjoyable.
The team at Cellar Door is amazing. I walked in, from the other side of the country, and felt right at home. Their hospitality was top notch. It is the perfect atmosphere to kick back, relax, and enjoy yourself. Food and drinks are both fantastic. I went with the Executive Chef's (and now HR 😉) seasonal recommendation of radishes and was pleasantly surprised. Never have I considered eating radishes, but if I'm back in the area and they are on the menu, I am having them again. Highly recommend you give the dish a try if it is in season. The team is also creative with their own specialty drinks with elements from nature. I had (also recommended!) the Irish Orange Mojito. It was light, crisp, and refreshing. Perfect on its own or paired with dinner. The whole experience was fantastic. They welcomed me in and made me feel right at home. I couldn't be happier that they invited me to explore their menu as I was exploring Main St./Downtown Visalia. Big shot out to the whole team, thanks for a wonderful experience!
5 stars for "I LOVE ART BRO," the Wednesday night art show/live music keeps me coming back! Such a rad spot with great energy and very kind Staff. Central raised dance floor/stage is intimate and welcoming, though you can sit at the surrounding tables/bar if you'd like to observe rather than join in. Small parking lot in the alley through the back door and surprisingly tidy bathrooms. Definitely always a good time at Cellar Wednesday nights!
This place is definitely the best in all Categories. Literally the best drinks and food in Visalia !!! Me and my husband visited last week for the first time and " WOW " THE EXPERIENCE WAS UNBELIEVABLE IN THE MOST AWESOME WAY. Owners are super humble and ready to serve all customers. I have family coming from London And that's definitely the restaurant I will be taking them too. With such awesome entertainment and amazing drinks and food food. I'm sure it's gonna leave a lasting impression on them.
I am a native Visalian. I have eaten steaks from way back to the present, from cask and cleaver to sizzler. You absolutely WILL NOT find a better ribeye within 70 miles of Visalia. Better than Cattlemans, right on par if not beeter than Harris Ranch and definitely better than anything in town. The pride and craft in choice of menu options coupled with farm to table ingredients, locally sourced vegetables and an extensive bourbon selection really set Cellar Door apart from anything else around. Go have a drink, relax and have something unique and flavorful to nibble on, you wont be disappointed!!
Fun place. Always great to chill, dance, drink and listen to live music. They always have great art shows every week.

The decorations for New Years were so cute! The music was amazing. & Trin is my favorite bartender.. definitely will be going back
Fun place. Always great to chill, dance, drink and listen to live music. They always have great art shows every week.
The service there is amazing! , Ulises is an amazing worker there always gives the best customer service !
We were trying to find a place to have lunch and saw a sign about a steak sandwich so we walked in. At first I thought we had made a mistake because it looks like a night club or lounge, but the bartender assured us we could have lunch there. My wife had the Cuban sandwich and I had a BBQ sandwich. We were both happy with the flavor and portion size. It was a nice meal and our server, Kayla i think he name was, did a great job with everything. I would definitely recommend trying this place and I'm hoping we can come back for the steak sandwich. Thanks!
Ulises connects with everybody on a personal level. Whether it be your first time meeting him, he treats you like a good friend. The Cellar Door’s atmosphere has risen since he’s been a part of the staff team. Plus him being the bartender there >>
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ “A Club Hater’s Spiritual Awakening at Cellar Door (ft. Ulises Valdez, the Mixology Messiah)” Okay, let me start by saying I hate clubs. Like, truly. I’d rather wrestle a cactus than stand shoulder-to-shoulder with sweaty strangers listening to bass that rearranges my internal organs. But somehow… SOMEHOW… Cellar Door and Ulises Valdez converted me. From the moment I walked in, Ulises greeted me like I was a VIP celebrity who just dropped an album. The man was mixing drinks like a wizard casting spells. I swear I saw smoke and sparkles when he shook that cocktail shaker — it was art. I asked for “something good” and got a drink so delicious I momentarily saw my ancestors dancing under disco lights. Every time I thought, “Okay, one more drink then I’m out,” Ulises would pull another masterpiece out of thin air like, “Try this one.” And of course, I had to. By the end of the night, I was hyping up strangers, vibing to music I didn’t know existed, and declaring Cellar Door my new religion. In conclusion: ✨ The vibes — immaculate. ✨ The drinks — dangerously good. ✨ Ulises — deserves a Nobel Prize in bartending. I walked in a club hater and left a Cellar Door disciple. If Ulises is behind the bar, I’m never skipping club night again
I love this place! They always have such great service, mostly Ulises. He’s always so nice when I come in for food or even a drink, he makes bombbb drinks, ask for a Scooby snack!! 10/10
Ulises is hands down one of the best bartenders I’ve ever met super sweet and has great energy the vibes are always good when he’s behind the bar. If you see Ulises working you’re in good hands.
Hubs and I went one day & we got their pasta awesome menu! It was so stinking delicious!! The meatballs were to die for & their pasta was scrumptious!🥹 my hubby works right across the street from here,(at the bakery). And now he surprises me w/ hot chocolate when i get home🥰 the hot chocolate is so rich and creamy! My type of hot chocolate!🤤 my hubby loves their Turkish coffe with the orange peel! He talks about it all day and sends his friends to go try it😂 We love this place!!

Nice place, drinks are expensive plus you have to pay cover but the dj mike or mikey (sorry)was awesome. Kept the best songs going. We went on new year's & had a blast. Planning on going when mezcal comes back. I used to come before it was a different owner. Bathrooms small & it gets so hot inside.
They shared about the herbs that they use to make some drinks. I enjoy the knowledge that they have making these drinks. It is a wonderful thing to know and for them to share. I've never been there since they opened, and yet when I went there last night I was rather surprised.
Great venue for live music. Friendly staff. Appetizers were okay. Drinks have gone up in price a few dollars just like any other bar.
It's an alright place, seen a few good shows there. I don't drink, but I heard a few complaints from people who got ignored at the bar.

good product but expensive. the dishes didn't arrive at the same time so I ate for ten min only. the Cosmopolitan was not presented in the usual martini glass and the taste was not what I know. they charged the price of a few more pieces of bread.
Not as nice as I'm sure they think it is. No full kitchen... so food is limited. Wine selection is good, but atmosphere is stale and haphazard.
Really like the remodel, it looks great inside. The food is really good. Went for dinner when Run 4 Cover was playing(Love them!) Unfortunately they were short staffed and unorganized, everyone started arriving before the band was going to start playing so we could get dinner prior but they did not let us get seated and order as we came in so there was chaos getting peoples food to them. Plus the drinks are way overpriced. Hopefully next time will be better! I wish them luck!!
The food was really good. We did a road trip in the area for about 10 days and this was one of the best meals we had. Fresh, tasty, interesting flavours. The atmosphere was that of a club rather than a restaurant and the AC was really strong so we had to keep layers on. Personal preference probably, other customers didn't seem to be bothered. Just a bit odd to have dinner overlooking a dance floor, but again, the food itself was great and the staff really friendly and efficient.

The club has an interesting vibe and is worth a visit, but there are some concerns. The food is overpriced, especially the bar snacks, and drinks are quite costly. We've been on different days and noticed some staff drama, including turning away certain clients while allowing known gang members in. Some staff on the floor tend to hit on clients, and I even saw one leave with a visibly drunk person. While the club is popular with young people, many women have reported safety issues and stolen belongings, which is worrying. Overall, the atmosphere can be fun, but be cautious about safety and prices.
Inconsistent pours. Came in tonight for a show. First round was good. The following rounds were so bad. The bartender had a bad vibe for no reason. He shorted us on the pours and was rude when we called him out on it. I work the industry for years so after this I’ll get drinks at VBC instead of here. Management should implement him using a jigger until he learns how to pour better.

Behind the welcoming facade lies the true nature of its owners, a man and women whose bigotry knows no bounds. Despite the diversity of the community, the owners openly discriminates against customers of certain ethnic backgrounds, refusing them service and hurling racial slurs without remorse. His and her's despicable behavior has not only tarnished the reputation of the diner but has also brought shame upon the entire town, leaving locals grappling with the dilemma of how to confront such blatant racism in their midst.
Honestly if I could give zero stars I would. Went for a Valentine's dinner with a set menu and they still got it all wrong. First was seated and shortly after was asked to move to a different table, then they took 20 mins to get drink order. Our tables food was not brought out simultaneously, literally two choices on the menu and the wrong food was brought out, on top of that the server was serving salad with her bare hands, literally dug her hands in a bin of tomato and slapped it on the plate. Honestly the only good part I can say was they understood and comp out bill. There are a lot more decent places in Visalia.
Nice venue and location. Comedy show was great but it was like sitting in a sauna for two hours. Customers and the performers were consistently complaining about how hot it was. There was literally no air moving in that room and it was a sold out event. My first time going there but I’d really have to rethink going again, just because of the lack of air conditioning. If I was the owner and my air conditioning wasn’t working, I would bring portable fans in. It would’ve made it big difference.
