We just left after a fun tasting. Mid week is always the best! We tried 5 red and white each. I really liked the Red zinfandel best. The whites were okay. We also tried several grappos they sell a ton! The Oregano was great so was the blue Spruce. Very nice owners I wish we had more cash we would have bought more!!!

Been coming here to Demarest Hill for years! Frank is a great person and offers many great products. My personal favorites is his grappa and balsamic. The original grappa and chocolate are top notch! The balsamic we use for salad, chicken, and so on. He doesn't win awards for nothing! Go check this place out!

Update: still a lovely spot and I double down on the review where the wines you expect to hate are good and the ones you expect to like aren’t impressive. Try some!!! Beautiful location, nice to relax here. The wine to be fair is hit or miss, but with the complete madhouse you find at the other local places like Warwick Valley where you can't even get a tasting, it's nice to come somewhere you can just relax. Bring a picnic and enjoy the afternoon off the beaten path. For the wines, taste a lot, I found the stuff I thought I'd like I didn't, the stuff I wasn't sure If like was very good.

My family and I arrived at 5:30pm on a Saturday evening only anticipating to buy a bottle of wine. The owner (mind you he is 83 years old native of Italy) welcomed us with the best greeting and open arms. We tried various wines and liquors (award winning mind you) and he was so happy to serve us!!! We have never felt this type of welcome ever before! I highly recommend this winery! You will absolutely not regret the experience that comes with it. He wine is excellent. We wound leaving with 14 various bottles.

Amazing place!!! Absolutely gorgeous views, delicious wine, amazing customer service and all around great highly recommended place! We were greeted by the owners who lived next door and are old school Italian wine makers. Since these times make it tough to taste during Covid, we couldn’t do tasting indoors so instead they recommended certain wines which we decided to buy and drink outside which trust me was worth it! Wine is relatively inexpensive, yummy and the owners were so nice as they did not rush as as we looked over all the bottles. I am saddened by some of the reviews as they don’t advertise to be sweet wines but they are good so please ignore the bad reviews the owners are lovely and the wine/view well worth it.

This is mostly being written to offset negative reviews, as I just don't write reviews. We first visited the distillery over a dozen years ago and went home with some things we loved, none of which were wine. The Anisette simply has no peer. We enjoyed Francesco and his love of his craft. We didn't care for the wine. You might indeed have negative feelings if your only interest is wine, but if your palette journeys to balsamic vinegar, brandy or grappa, a trip to visit Francesco will be rewarded. I drove over 200 miles, each way, 2 days ago and restocked my liquor pantry with many items. I will add that I also cycled the nearby Heritage Trail, so there was another reason to be there besides the alcohol. The website has no store, but Francesco assured me I can call in my order next time. ...two bottles already being enjoyed.

Meh. The owner and property are more interesting than the wine. He kinda just gave us pours of everything under the sun with no rhyme or reason to his method. Most of the wines were not to my liking but it could also be that you taste sweet before dry etc. They did have Grappa which is hard to find.

A good get away and difference from the loud and busy other wineries in warwick. The wine wasn’t so good. The ciders were decent. Chocolate one was very good. Balsamic vinaigrette was good as well. I would go back just for the views and quietness, but the wine wasn’t so great. Owners were nice despite the reviews. Environment was nice and i feel the one star reviews are just basing it off the wines. I am rating the whole experience. Plus that it isnt busy too.

We were the only ones there on a Sunday- Memorial Day weekend. Very little parking or seating. We decided to do a tasting. The dry wines were on the sweet side and not very good -the experience felt like they had better things to do than wait on us as the two older ladies who worked there continued to speak to each other in another language and virtually ignored us. After the tasting the lady who waited on us disappeared so we just left - very weird experience- definitely would NOT recommend.

Enjoyed the wines and bought the Traditional Red. The Black Pearl was very good but I was wanting a dinner wine for later. I couldn’t understand a lot of what our hostess was saying. I also did a tasting and bought a glass because I collect them. After tasting we went to check out and learned that it is cash only! We were traveling so we were not accustomed to this. If you go…be sure to take your wallet!!!!

Two stars for how sweet this man was! However, Like many others, I have to unfortunately agree with the below reviews. My husband and I are avid wine drinkers and wine lovers. This winery looks adorable from outside...inside is fine and traditional.. but the wines are not good. Every bottle smelled like it was two weeks old, stale and sour. The taste seemed to match that. Not good for a wine lover who will at least try to drink it. Potential in the vines but the wine maker needs to reevaluate those final Products. Also, cash only which thank god I had cash on me for the tasting. The vinegars however were quite tasty. We went to another winery after this and they raved about the spirits here (the Brandy apparently) and said those are worth getting. Otherwise, wine friends, keep driving.

AVOID at all costs! I was in the area driving home when I saw this place. I stopped and my husband and I picked out 4 bottles of wine. We came home, put them in their side in a bar refrigerator. Took one out to have with dinner last night and it was bad! I looked at the other 3 bottles…every thing settled! HUGE WASTE OF MONEY!!!!

We went here in 2016 and had a great time. There was an older gentleman behind the tasting bar. Very Italian. And was awesome to talk with. Cut back to our tasting yesterday was a total downer. The vineyard still looks very nice but that's were it stops. Wine were very disappointing and the lady doing the tasting was very disorganized. Sadly I have to say the balsamic vinegar was the best thing I tasted there.

Do not waste your time going here. We felt like we were intruding on a Thursday afternoon. We should have turned around to leave after seeing the overgrown vineyard. Cheap tasting, $5 for 5 wines, but barely any wine given to taste. Don't know if we got a true taste of the wine, bottles could have been opened for a long time. We did buy a bottle only to realize later it was bottled in 2002. I can't imagine what this is going to taste like when we open it. Update - we poured the wine down the drain. It was horrible.

We went to Demarest Hill Winery today. We had never been there before. We had looked at their website and saw that they offered wine tasting. After waiting on along line which was also the line to the restroom, we were informed that they were not they were not having wine tasting. When I told the lady that they should put that on their website, she said oh well what can you do. So basically we when to a liquor store today. Hopefully what we bought is good as we have never had any of their wine before, which is why you go to a wine tasting event.

Pulled in on a Sunday afternoon and NO cars in the lot (every other winery was packed) Now I know why.. It was the worst wine I have ever tried! Tastings were cheap (5 for 5$) but gave up after 4. I think the bottles have been sitting open for a VERY long time. The vineyard was unkept and overgrown and the service was unfriendly.. DO NOT GO THERE!

If there was a Zero rating I would give it!!! Myself and three others decided to give this place a go because we were in the area after apple picking (despite the ratings). Upon arrival, the owner nor his wife greeted us or ask if we needed help, it was as if we we non existent. Finally after a few minutes I decided to approach the wife, who gave the most vague of responses when I asked for help and more info about the wine tasting procedure. Despite her response, I walked over to the bar area where her husband was in the process of serving wine to other parties. I tried getting his attention and he completely ignored me so much so that one of the people being served had to say to him that we were here for wine tasting and should be served! The man (owner) proceeded to give me one glass (Mind you, there was a bit of attitude when he gave me the glass) when it was so obvious that it was 4 of us! I told him that I needed 4 glasses and to my utmost surprised caught a fit about it. Who tf does that???!? They’re unprofessional, unwelcoming and wouldn’t recommend it. From my observation they’re also disorganized - randomly selecting bottles from the shelf for tasting. If you’re looking for a quick buzz for $5 then go because you won’t be reviving anything more from them !!!

I agree with Joe Hamilton's review. Terrible customer service and mediocre wine. Worst winery experience I've ever had. I wish I could give zero stars. My husband and I arrived to this ghost town of a winery. There wasn't anyone there, and now we know why. We rang the bell and walked in. No one was in the tasting room. We walked around for a few minutes when finally a woman came through the front door. She mumbled a hello, and we thought she was another customer until she walked behind the counter. We had to ask for a tasting, to which she replied, "Five dollars". We paid, and every time we asked for a wine, she'd say, "Which one?" The wine bottles were all over the floor with no rhyme or reason. She couldn't find half of them and even had to pull one off of the shelf. There were fruit flies EVERYWHERE! She acted like we were troubling her with every pour. A tasting? More like a sipping. We barely got a half a taste in our glass. The wine was nothing special. We rushed through the five tastings and ran for the door. My husband and I have been to many vineyards/wineries, and this was by far the worst.

A very nice setting but that was it. We were literally the ONLY people there. The tastings were $5 for 5 wines. However, the samples were very small. Good thing though. Every wine, including a white Zinfandel, pinot grigio, Reisling, and rose, tasted horrible, like vinegar. My friend could only taste 3 wines; she had enough. There was no place to sit to try the wines and no snacks or food to sell. We did not buy anything there. There was a gazebo on the grounds, but it didn't look open. We were profoundly disappointed, especially when afterwards we went to another MUCH better place
